Food is delicious and the potions are nice size. The service is good and the employees are friendly and helpful. The place is always clean. Definitely a great place to eat.
My favorite Chinese restaurant around. Hot and fresh every time! Outstanding food, made to order. Highly recommend.
The food came out fast and fresh and was delicious. First time ordering take out from here. I like how they use brown rice. Will be coming back here again.
Thank you for exchanging my first food choice without any hesitation. Ordered sweet and sour shrimp, didnt like and you exchange it for shrimp fried rice without any words. So appreciate that. Thank you. Again.
Moved to Marshall from DFW and was worried about finding good Chinese food. Safe to say this place met AND exceeded my expectations! Great prices and very nice portions! I will not go anywhere else!
Food is good but the egg rolls are the best I've ever had, a meal by themselves. I definitely recommend going there and getting the egg rolls
Good hot and sour soup. Egg rolls cooked to perfection and had the steamed dumplings. Very good.
Best Chinese food in the East Texas area. The food is always fresh, and cooked perfectly to order. I recommend this place to anybody looking for good cuisine at a great price.
Great food. Fast friendly service
This place is awesome! They make your food after you order so its hot and fresh! Super friendly too! BTW, they're only closed on Sundays.
Favorite Chinese food in marshall. We eat here more than any restaurant in town. They don't have a buffet, but the orders are cooked fast and fresh. Highly recommend kung pao chicken and garlic chicken. The pad thai is also AMAZING.
One of the top oriental food places anywhere. Generous delicious portions with everything on the menu. Highly recommend if you like take out or dine in.
Love it. The food is so good and the people serving are so friendly. Great for college students and affordable too. Also the portions are huge!!! I love it!!!
This is the BEST place to eat Chinese food. It's always prepared fresh. Friendly staff and so much better than the local buffets.
I love the food, can't think of a bad experience ! Staff is always friendly, foodbalways fresh cooked to my order!!
So good! Always taste fresh. Wife and I shared a plate. You get alot! Best homemade eggrolls that you will ever eat. Very reasonably priced!
I live in Longview, but I wish I could bring this restaurant over here! The wife and I REALLY loved it! ALL food is cooked from scratch, and you can order pretty much anything you would want from a buffet! Was sooo very good. Shrimp fried rice and reg. fried rice is awesome! You can even request white meat for your General Tsos chicken when you order it! Cannot say enough good about this place!! Will be a regular spot on the weekends for sure! Keep up the good work guys!!
This is the place to get Chinese food in town. The people that work here are very nice and accommodating to your needs. The soups are wonderful as are the main dishes. I haven't had anything here I wouldn't order again.
We eat here often and are never disappointed. House fried rice is one of our favorites. Good portions, and brown rice is available. Very good service as well. Drive up a plus!
Great chinese place. Ive tried many different dishes on the menu and they are all good. Plus you will have leftovers for the next day because their portions are huge but very reasonably priced. Service is good. Would recommend.
The BEST Asian food resterant in Marshall!!!!!!! Its family owned! Its not American mixed! Its AUTHENTIC!! The food is so fresh and hot!!!! You can feed two to three people with a single plate!!! I really great place to share a meal with your date!!! I Love the staff there!!
I love this place. I always get the chicken lo mein. I'm also a big fan of the egg rolls. Seriously, I don't even like egg rolls normally, but I go crazy for theirs! Be sure to try the plum sauce with it!
Food is always amazing. Meals large enough to feed two people. Eggs rolls with the pot stickers sauce are great! Love everything I get here!
Amazing it's not steam table Chinese it's the best by far I've found in east Texas authentic. And delicious check em out
Best in Marshall!!! Why bother with that other place ? This is fresh, cooked to order (No heat lamps here, folks!!!) food in town !!! Staff is wonderful! Food is great. Always come here when craving for good Chinese food! Do yourself a favor, and stop by!!
If you're in the mood for Chinese food peeking will satisfy that craving. The freshest best tasting Chinese food in town hands down!! My favorite is the vegetable fried rice, but everything I've had there has been excellent
I love their egg rolls, they are big, full of meat and veggies. The staff is always friendly, and the food is always hot and delicious.
Food is always amazing here. Never fail. I highly recommend
Don't let the old building scare you away! The food is AMAZING and the portions are huge. We very much enjoyed it, and we have enough leftovers for tomorrow as well! 😄
This place is great! The food is always made fresh and prices aren't crazy either. Another great thing is that the portions sizes are huge!
To the people who were saying it's awful... you must have been sick to start with... this is good Chinese... fresh and super yummy. I've eaten Chinese all over the country and unless you are going to a place that charges 20 bucks a plate <a small plate at that> you aren't gonna find better... (and even then I've had expensive places good that wasn't this good) I eat their lo mein frequently it's good... and so is their sesame balls.. oh so good!.
Food is great super fresh, great seasoning, big portions, great prices totally recomended best best Chinese food in east texas. Defenelty coming back. Thank you for cooking some good food. Im so so picky when I come to foods if I said is good is good and fresh...5*****
I love Peking! Their egg rolls are the best! So delicious! All of the food is freshly cooked very good. Good service too!
This was our first visit to Peking. I We ordered takeout, and it did not disappoint. This is definitely the best Chinese food I've ever had in Northeast Texas. We ordered the garlic chicken, egg rolls and Wonton soup. The vegetables were fresh, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
McDonald’s next door had there dining room locked even though there were customers inside. Thankfully Peking was right there next to it. After a long day of work, Peking saved the day with a very large and very delicious Mongolian chicken dish. It came with heaps of rice and enough sauce to cover all the rice. It was a great experience as a first-timer there, and all for under $10. We only waited a few minutes before receiving our food, yet it tasted fresh as ever.Thank you Peking!!
Menu is extensive food is very good. Service is excellent. Very nice place to get a good fast meal. Price is very reasonable.
Delicious food & well presented. We were passing thru & found because of good reviews.
Very pleasantly surprised! We have lived here for two years and never saw the restaurant until an eye appointment along the same road. Food is amazing! The staff is quick and very accommodating. We will 100% be eating here again. They have a drive threw that seems to move very quickly as well. The restrooms are single stalled. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. For a family of 5 we all ate for under $48, two entrees, large bowl of soup, three kids meals, two large drinks and three medium drinks, and a order of their sugar rolls.
The food here is amazing! Whether you call in a to go order or dine in, the food is always fresh and fast. My favorite is the Sesame Chicken. Their steamed dumplings and egg rolls are wonderful too.
I got the hot and sour chicken with egg fried rice. I haven’t always been the biggest rice eater, but this rice makes me want to go eat there for lunch every day. the chicken wasn’t spicy at all, which caught me off guard but it was good. Quick pick up and good service.
Pleasantly surprised at this Chinese buffet. Price was under $12.00 per person, not including drink. The egg drop soup was very good. I hope when I go again there will be wonton soup! Food was hot, replenished often. Mop goo gai pan was delicious, and General Tso chicken was spicy! This establishment is closed on Monday.
The egg rolls here are BOMB! Everything my husband and I have tried here has been delicious. They are also quick in preparing the food. Highly recommend this place
We ordered take out. Drive through makes it easy to pick up the food. We ordered the Sechzuan Beef and the Shrimp in Lobster. Both were excellent. The fried rice was on point and my son said the egg drop soup was the best he'd ever had. The pot stickers seemed a little bland until we added the sauce and wow!!! Just moved to Marshall and so thankful to find good Asian fare so close by!
Seriously! I was pleasantly surprised when we pulled up. Needing something quick to take back to our hotel room, everyone has way different taste. This pace was on point! A drive thru. Cool friendly guy at the window that answered 101 questions. Super fast. 100% correct on the order. Large servings. Got back, everyone, I mean everyone was full and happy. 5 STARS 👏🍚
Good food at a Decent price. They DO tend to cut the Spicy to the typical American user. So, if you want it spicey, beat to have your own to add.. Otherwise, taste wise, it is well worth the money spent.
My first time coming to this restaurant and I'm very surprised by the nice big portion of food we get.... It's really fresh and hot too. We really satisfied with everything we've had and the service was really nice, friendly. I'll definitely recommending this place and be coming back too!!! :-)
One of three. All owned by the Tangs. Peking in Marshall is where I dinner and it is just a great place. Go there and read while eating. Daughters and I do school work. Everything is made fresh to order. The Tang Gang is super friendly. Eric treats all his customers well. He makes anything to order. The soups are awesome and I love the portions. I get 2 meals out of them. Lots of meat in entrees. Fresh veggies and fresh made sauce. Just a great place anytime. DIN HAO!!!!😃
Just had a hot fresh meal again for lunch. Always enjoy the quality food here and the egg rolls are the best that I have ever had! I highly recommend Peking you won’t be disappointed!!
The food here is delicious. Their egg rolls have just the right crispness, I usually order at least 6 of them because they are so yummy.
I've ordered a lot of different items off the menu. Everything I've tried here has been good.
Top notch service. The egg rolls are awesome, burrito size! Service is great and they pleasant atmosphere. Fastest dine in service I’ve had in a while. First stop sit down restaurant in Marshal at a reasonable price.
This was a nice, clean, family friendly place to eat good Chinese food. We will be going back!
Excellent food. Best Egg Roll I’ve ever eaten!
Best eggrolls. 100x better than any Chinese buffet
Always a great place to get food!
Hands down, best eggrolls I’ve ever had!! Please never change them.. haven’t had an eggroll this good in 15 years!!
Staying at Caddo Lake State Park and didn't feel like cooking lunch. Found Peking on search on maps. Staff was friendly, service was fast, food was hot and tasty, prices were moderate. Drinks (soda and tea) were under $2 with FREE refills.
So good 👍. And the portions were great. Egg roll was crispy and full of flavor. Sweet and sour sauce was perfect. The main course was great, not to salty but had flavor with just the right spices
If your a fan of Chinese Cuisine don't sleep on this place. The food is unbelievably good with Large Portions and a reasonable price. I discovered this place by accident and now I'm a regular. Try the Beef and Broccoli with extra onion with no bamboo shoots and a side order of Crab Rangoon with extra sweet and sour. Thank Me Later
Title: Delicious Meal at Peking Restaurant in Marshall, TX on Victory Dr. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Peking restaurant, and I must say it was a delightful experience. I ordered the egg roll and egg fried rice, and they were both incredibly delicious. The egg roll was perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a flavorful combination of vegetables and meat. The dipping sauce provided added an extra burst of flavor that complemented the roll beautifully. The egg fried rice was a true standout dish. The rice was cooked to perfection and had a wonderful balance of flavors. It was packed with generous portions of egg, vegetables, and savory seasonings that made each bite a delight. The service at Peking was excellent, with friendly staff who were attentive and accommodating. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and cozy, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Overall, my experience at Peking restaurant was fantastic. The delicious egg roll and egg fried rice left me satisfied and craving more. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and mouthwatering Chinese cuisine
Great food! 1st time visiting with my Hubby. We were blown away at the portion sizes. For $37, we had wontons, rangoons,4 huge eggrolls, potstickers, house special rice, and chow mein sort of dish. It wouldve have fed 4. We didnt know how much food it would be coming with. Everything is so fresh. I wasnt thrilled about the wontons outside texture but oh well, I just wont order that again. It's worth visiting! So much to choose from!!
Food is usually good, but the last time I went there was a man in the kitchen yelling at everyone. :( Please consider treating your employees more kindly, it shows on their faces how it makes them feel.
Food was good. Place is mostly a take out food place. We went in to eat. Did not know had to go to front to place order
Got there right at a rush and didn't get my soy sauce and fortune cookies and cutlery in my bag. 😔 But the food was good. As always! 👍
We ate inside and the food was really good. Large portions, cooked well. Egg rolls were great.
Love Peking! The food is always made fresh and comes out nice and hot. You can dine in or use the drive through for busy days. The only item I have found that was not the best is the lo mein, but everything else is great.
I have really come to like this place and when I move unfortunately I will miss it. Haven't really tried any other Chinese place around here, but thats for good reason, I didn't need to. Food is always hot and fresh, the fried rice is on point. Some of their specials are kind of a weird mix but I will give it a try if it sounds good.
If you are looking for good Chinese food. We we very happy with our experience there. The food was very good reasonably priced and the service was very fast and friendly. We highly restaurant recommend this h
I like the food here and it's always fresh the fried rice is really good. The only thing that is a little off for me is the dining. The building is very old and the air conditioner does not work well enough to suit me personally it's too hot. The employees are very nice and it's a good place to eat Chinese food in Marshall. We only have one other place and it's Buffet. I think the quality of food here is is very good.
Stopped for a late dinner after meeting our halfway point in our trip, cross country. Was hungry and wanted something quick and local to the hotel we were staying in and happened upon this place. Not going to lie, we were super skeptical to go in. Chinese food is just so iffy, you know? It can go great or it can be the worst decision of your life. So, after some discussion and deep breaths we went in and ultimately were super happy we did. Fast. Quick. Convenient but best off all? Delicious!! Staff was attentative and friendly. My husband who is not a fan of Chinese food literally said it was the best Chinese food he has ever had. Great portions too! We got the pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, crab Rangoon, and orange chicken - so good. Kids loved it. Thanks for a pleasantly yummy experience !
This is a dumpy little place, not as clean as I like, self service, but food was good. We all especially liked egg rolls...
This is great take away! Sesame shrimp and brown rice were delicious! And served quickly in containers that were still piping hot when I got home
Food was great! Kung Pao was fresh and spicy enough to make my nose run. My wife had the Sweet & Sour Chicken which reminded us of our favorite Chinese restaurant in Houston, Shan Hu. Clear sauce and the vegatables were fresh and crispy. Only got 3 stars because the A/C was not keeping the place cool enough and the restroom was a bit unkempt and hot as an oven. We'll be back, but we'll be wearing shorts next time.
After reading rave reviews we finally tried the food. My husband got the vegetable shrimp with vegetable fried rice and he loved it. I got the sesame chicken and was disappointed, meat was tough and or dry. We also got cheese rangoon and it was just ok. I also got the vegetable lo mein instead of rice and it was just ok. Not impressed. We will keep going to China King.
Older restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. Generous helping of beef and broccoli in their Hunan beef. Down side, Hunan beef is suppose to be spicy and this wasn't. This dish had more of a beef and broccoli flavor with a few red pepper flakes. I will try this restaurant again though, the other entrees I saw being eaten by other patrons looked amazing.
Not the same great taste from even 10 years ago much less from 2008.
My wife’s Beef and mixed vegetables were decent. Lots of veggies like she wants. I had General Tso as the cashier suggested. Total miss. It was like the oil used to cook the chicken was old or something. Our Egg Rolls were just as greasy. We will try them again because of my wife’s dish held up.
One hitter quitter. Place is alright if you're looking for some quick Chinese, but not quite the ideal 'restaurant'. More like a fast food place, though I've seen some do better still. Food is okay, but would be better if you cleaned your pans/grill better. Can pretty much taste the whole menu in one meal. Employees are polite and with poise, service is decent. Bathrooms on the other hand are less than stellar, and that's a deal breaker for me. Bathrooms tell me everything I need to know about a place, and it's never wrong. So, if anyone still plans to eat here in spite of my review, use the Drive-Thru.
I enjoyed the egg roll but my kung Pao beef was way too sweet my husband enjoyed his general tos but I still found that to be too sweet for my liking
Been a while since we ate here and today placed an order for Orange Peel Beef "extra spicy" for take out not only was there so-so flavor, there was zero spice at all...like NONE. I don't like to add spice I like it cooked in with the stir fry. Friendly people, but food was disappointing due to no spice. I now remember why we stopped going here. I just make my own at home, or eat Chinese, Thai or whatever when elsewhere.
I asked if they could put my extra egg on top and my extra meat on top, I feel like they charged me for it, but didn't put it in my rice. I had more rice than meat. I did not want all that rice. I wanted less rice, more meat and a separate egg. There was rice left over. It passed me off
I don't know. I would love to give them 1 Star but I can bring myself to do so. Well usually when you get pepper beef, there's a lot of black pepper. This just has bell peppers, onions, and covered in sauce . And the cuts of the vegetables are more like a super large or super duper large cut. Nothing has a sear on it. The sauce is definitely from a bottle. Generic teriyaki sauce. Rice is blah. Meat tastes a little old but not bad. No one inside. People are nice, I guess. Only a short amount of interaction. He did come check on me though and right after the cashier came to check up on me. The server was really nice. Everyone was pretty cool. I'm just really disappointed in the food. I will try one more time. I hope it is better.
First, this place is filthy. Bathroom is downright scary. Food was very average at best. Egg rolls were dripping oil. Szechuan beef had tons of sauce that tasted like cheap BBQ sauce. Sweet and sour chicken was better, but ordinary. But there was lots of parking available. I wish we had gone to Applebees instead
Small older restaurant where you place your order at the counter and seat yourself. Upon entering we read a hand written notice stating meals with broccoli will be replaced with green beans, then proceeded in where two employees were dining at separate tables eatting. After being greeted and placing our order we sat at a window table noticing the window was covered with R20 foam board insulation. Our dinner arrived a piece at a time with the dumplings, an appetizer making it to the table last, over 10 minutes later. I chose sweet and sour pork, the pork was scrap meat, and over fried, filled with fried breading (no meat see pic) and gristle so I had to fill up on steamed rice, drowned what pork I DID eat in sweet 'n sour sauce. Wasted $8.50, but the potstickers were very good and worth the wait.
Had the Szechuan chicken and was not impressed. Clearly it was microwaved as there were still cold spots in the plate of food. The sauce had to have been from a can. It was like the Ragu of Szechuan sauce. Would not eat here again.
Worse hockey puck chicken I've ever tasted. Had to drive all the way to get sweet and sour sauce. Geeze that's what we ordered.
They put every assortment of meat possible into my explicitly asked for TOFU pad thai. Beef, shrimp, and chicken, along with the tofu. I would give them 0 stars if it was an option.
I ordered 2 entrees and some appetizers for a pickup order, did not receive a receipt or confirmation of what my order was. When I made it back to work and examined my order I was missing an entree. When I called I was told she didn't have that on my order (I said it at least 5 times!!!) The rice was overcooked and the chicken in the general tsos chicken was dry and stringy.
My daughter and I enjoy eating out and look forward to a new taste treat when we try a new restaurant. We recently moved to Marshall and have found many excellent restaurants. However, the Peking restaurant in Marshall is the worst Chinese restaurant ever. The food was poorly cooked with tasteless sauces. To add insult to injury, the management is rude. Save your time and money and find someplace else to dine. Stale crackers, cold cuts, and flat beer at home would be an improvement over the Peking reastaurant.
The inside is just nasty and dirty. The food was just as bad. Wasted $60 that ended up in the trash! Pathetic.
I ordered here about a year and a half ago and my disappointment then was not misplaced. It would seem that their largely hispanic cooking staff (the kitchen can be seen from the counter) have never actually been trained in the art of Chinese cooking. Let me say here, while not Chinese, I was born in Indonesia where the cuisine has a heavy Chinese influence. I have eaten in Chinese restaurants all over the world and none have left me with a worse experience than here. It was a simple order, focusing on appetizers and side dishes. I ordered egg rolls, fried dumplings, steamed dumplings, crab rangoon, Lo-Mein, fried rice and some Chinese fried dough with sugar on top. The order was ready when I arrived, the counter staff was polite and courteous. I quickly checked out, but not before i looked around the restaurant and determined that I would not sit down to eat here. The dining room was old, run down and not entirely clean. Bringing the food home and upon inspecting the order it became clear that the order had been sitting for quite a while. The egg rolls were greasy, cold and soggy, as were the friend dumplings and the steamed dumplings. All the food was cold. The crab rangoon was also greasy, soggy and cold. the edges of the dough around the dumplings and rangoon was hard and unpalatable. I turned my attention to the lo-mein. The noodles were over cooked, the meat had not been velvetized and I'm fairly certain I could still see the marks in the flesh from where the jockey was whipping it before it expired from old age, this was also true for the fried rice. I noticed some of the vegetables in the lo-mein were still half frozen, particularly the broccoli. The fried rice was passable, but fairly tasteless. I tossed the food, I couldn't serve it to my guests. I don't know why I ordered here a second time, perhaps I thought they had gotten their act together and given the images on their new website looked savory and delicious. Looks can be deceiving. Go at your own risk. If this will be your only experience in Chinese cuisine, you may not be as disappointed as I was. As for me, I'll continue to prepare my Chinese cuisine properly & at home. I won't be back to the Pekin Chinese in Marshall, Texas.
Visited from out of town and my wife and I was in the mood for Chinese food. So I pulled up the restaurant with the highest rating in the area. After I got my meal, it’s clear to me that people in this area don’t know what good Chinese taste like. My wife also found a worm in her food. I’m so glad I don’t live here.
