The initial reaction to us walking in from staff was shock for whatever reason, but once seated we were taken care of quickly. Our waitress seemed new but she took great care of us. Food was delicious and seriously seasoned. Plates are huge for the price. Great hidden not so hidden gem in the area. Would return

A return to Sargent requires a visit to the newly rebuilt CrabTrap Grill as the last Building and locale blew away with a hurricane. Good southern food is stupendous as always. Seafood and grilled shrimp came with giant servings, and our terrific waitress, Ashlynn made us feel welcome.

The food is delicious. This place is not the same as listed. They have moved. This is what the new restaurant looks like. The fried pickles were supreme. The crabcake sandwich was very good. They even have a different type of sauce other than tartar that was really delicious on it. The burgers are pretty phenomenal. Onion rings were great.

Perfect spot right in Sargent, Texas. The restaurant was spacious and the service was excellent! The boudin were giant and stuffed to the max! Surf and turf cooked to perfection. Crab cakes are a must and the shrimp was fresh!

Friendly environment with fresh seafood. We started off with boudin balls and fried pickles. Boudin was delicious and would recommend. The fried pickles were okay. Lots of salt and over-fried with little pickle. For entrees, we recommend the jumbo shrimp, crab cakes, corn, green beans, and French fries. The chicken fried chicken was good, but had a little too much gravy for our taste. The server was friendly and attentive! The restaurant was clean. We would love to return when we are back in the area. Food tasted great, fresh, and hot! I thought the pricing was affordable and fair for the portions you get.

Great food and the staff was friendly. I ordered the Fried Catfish Plate $16. The waitress said oh it’s Friday and is on special for $10.99 it comes with 2 sides! My husband loved his Hamburger $8.99 and we shared my sides. We highly recommend. P.S. The main street that drives directly to the restaurant there is a bridge that is out so follow the DETOUR Signs. It’s worth driving the extra miles to get there! It’s also BYOB..

This place is amazing for a small town. It's a little gem, my wife says, and the kids love to sit and watch the boats pass by. It is very affordable and convenient when you have been fishing all day and don't want to fight going back to cook for the family. You can pull right up to a boat slip or drive and park. Definitely our families favorite place to eat when we come down!

Had early dinner here in the off season. Great waitress Natasha. We had the grilled oysters and split the mahi tacos with grilled veggies. Everything was fresh and delish! It is BYOB!

Staff is hit or miss, but are still pretty good. Food is good, shrimp, Mahi Mahi Tacos are da BOMB, and jalapeno hush pupies rock. If you are out this way, its a good option. Inside and outside seating as well. Better only if they sold beer.

The food was pretty good but the person who served us came out of the kitchen, she was probably the chef, had an attitude, she set our plates down and then my husband asked s question she acted like we put her out.

Stopped in after a long day fishing. The place was busy, but we were seated fairly quickly. The staff was very nice and helpful. The kitchen was a little backed up with all the orders so food came out pretty slow, but it wasn't bad. We had boudin balls for apps, redfish and fries, chicken fried steak, and mahi tacos. Portions were large, taste was alright. I would have to say my favorite to my least favorite was, boudin, then redfish, then mahi, and lastly the CFS. For a smaller restaurant kind of out in the middle of nowhere, their menu is pretty large. Lots of things to choose from. Everyone should be able to find something that looks good to them. If you're in the area and hungry, check um out.

Nice little spot, looks run down but they have decent food. I tried the chicken fried chicken with gravy and grilled veggies. The veggies were fresh, grilled and seasoned nicely. The chicken was awesome, a great crunchy crust and tasty gravy. Service was also great.

Wife says they were the best shrimp tacos she's ever had. My pepper jack burger ranks up there. We'll definitely be coming back here again.

We got here at 4 pm on a Wednesday and they were out of several key items: Barramundi, Oysters, lettuce wedges. I also wonder why a place on the Texas Gulf Coast called 'Crab Trap' does not have boiled Blue Crab, but Snow Crab?? The boiled shrimp were evidently spicy by virtue of having the spicy seasoning sprinkled on them after boiling. The wait staff were excellent.

Food has never disappointed. Service depends on the time of day. We had a terrible service experience recently BUT we STILL went back the next day. The place needs a few updates & a little love.
