X&O is a unique little cafe located just off the popular Plazuela Machado in picturesque “old” Mazatlán. X&O offers an extensive collection of board games (Carcassone anyone?) to check out not to mention espresso coffee that rivals anything I’ve had here in San Francisco. You can’t go wrong with the excellent waffles either (waffle fan here). The space is clean and tidy and the service is diligent (a welcome fact in laid-back Mazatlán). The owners hail from Canada so the cafe has a familiar and relaxing feel to it. The entire staff is bilingual (Spanish/English) and they were very generous about sharing their knowledge about their city, which I put to good use - thanks everybody! If you’re ever in the Centro Histórico district of Mazatlán, check it out.

Cruising to Mazatlan? Walking the blue line? You have to stop here. It’s just off the plaza, before the church. Get the iced mocha. It has real shaved chocolate in it and will blow your mind. They have food and snacks too, and fun board games. Nice folks, calm spot to cool down. Support expats. PS This is our second time visiting. I’m glad we were able to easily find it again.

A nice, cozy spot filled to the brim with boardgames! Highly recommend for both casual players and the most dedicated boardgamers. Great game selection in both Spanish & English, and great food. Food menu is very simple, while the drinks get quite creative. Weekly events range from Dungeons & Dragons to Farkle to card game tournaments.

This is such a fun place for a night out. My husband and I brought 11 teenage boys with us who needed a night out and they were not disappointed. The staff was so attentive, the frappes were a hit, and the game selection is fantastic. There was something for everyone and it was hard to get the boys out the door at the end of the night. I was so excited about this cafe way before they even opened. I've become a big game person, and this is just perfect. It's just so cute and cozy..... and the earl grey tea latte is amazing. Perfect location in the older historic district. It has some of my most favorite things all in one place. Playing games, going to a cafe, drinking coffee... And now they have food and alcohol. Taught a canasta class there twice, and it was so much fun. Super nice owners!!!!! Love it.

We love this place! The coffee was delicious and the location is excellent being just steps away from the plazueta muchado in Centro historico of Mazatlan. Great snacks, floats or a drink with or without alcohol as well.

Stopped in while in port on a cruise, the owner helped us, recommending the blended fruit smoothie for my partner and the blended coffee for me. Both were really really good. Wish we would have stopped in sooner, they have a great location to sit and play games. Very nice decor as well!

Me gustó el concepto de que pudieramos jugar mientras compartiamos con unos amigos que visitamos. No encontré ninguna información clara de que tuviese costo extra el juego. Estuvimos 2h jugando y eso sumó +400 a nuestra cuenta. Son 30 por media hora por persona. Entiendo que pueda tener un costo por el material y el tiempo que pueda quedarse la gente, pero quizás debería ser un valor por cada juego o cada 2 personas… Tienen muchos juegos en español e inglés. El matcha no me gustó nada, era un vaso de leche con un poco de polvos de matcha. Nunca un matcha consiguió no gustarme, el resto de bebidas si estaban bien, solo no recomiendo esa.

Un lugar fuera de lo cotidiano, el menú de comida es pequeño, pero lo lindo del lugar es el concepto; los juegos de mesa te hacen convivir y te olvidas de todo dispositivo electrónico. Un muy buen lugar para toda la familia

Lo que ofrecen de comida es MUUUY simple pero rico, yo pedi huevos revueltos, me lo trajeron con medio bagel tostado con queso crema y unas uvas verdes, rico. El menu de desayuno es muy pequeño y simple. Pero todo está rico. El lugar se presta mucho más para tomar una bebida(cafe, tizana, té o bebida fría) y jugar. Independientemente de lo que ordenas se te cobra por el tiempo de juego, a nosotros nos cobraron un peso el minuto por persona. Literal jugamos 30minutos y fueron 30 pesos por persona. Los precios por los cafés son estándar, nada exagerados. Desde 40 pesos a 70 aprox, dependiendo del café. Los únicos lugares para estacionarse cercanos estan en ambas esquinas de las acera del negocio. Uno cobra 30 pesos la hora (el que esta previo) y el otro 20 (pasando el negocio, en la siguiente esquina). Tienen una gran variedad de juegos, muchos de ellos en inglés. Muy divertido. Algunos son completamente desconocidos en México. Es interesante.

Wonderful small coffee shop with great espresso and people. I forgive them that the cappuccino had about 4 times the amount of steamed milk that it needs. The total volume should be defined by equal proportions of espresso, milk, and foam (i.e., 1/3 each. )

Supimos del concepto y quisimos pasar una tarde agradable, sin embargo el costo por jugar se nos hizo exagerado. Si va una familia de 8 personas, terminas pagando $900 aprox solo por jugar dos horas. Más bebidas, y/o comida. No tiene sentido. A lo mejor su audiencia son los gringos que no les importa por el tipo de cambio. En la CDMX hay un lugar parecido en una de las zonas más caras y solo pagas la renta del juego por el tiempo que quieras sin importar cuantos jueguen.

Doy una estrella porque es lo mínimo posible, la atención es pésima, tardan en atender y ni siquiera piden disculpas. La verdad dudo volver. El lugar en cuanto al costo es accesible, pero no es la mejor en su ramo. Sin duda existen mejores lugares. Además el joven que atiende pasaba constantemente su mano en la nariz y aún así sirve los cafés, que falta de higiene.
