Opinions de Reserva Roasters Mcallen
A great place to get coffee or a mocha. I work from Reserva serveral days a week. The staff is very friendly and the coffee shop has great background music so everyone can have great conversations, or work. Very clean. A good place for small meetings over coffee! They have a great menu. I recommend the Zesty Benedict and a mocha. Very good value for the money! Close to DeepWater CrossFit. Get a workout in, then come for a coffee!!🤙😎💪🏼
Always had great coffee here. Staff is polite and friendly. Great ambiance to get some work done too!
The coffee was at a very fair price and tasted great. They also have a great taste in music.
Reserva is making the best coffee in McAllen. They roast the beans themselves, and every cup tastes like the maker knew what she was doing. Great coffee, pros behind the counter, and a welcoming atmosphere where you're never hurried.
Hadn't been there now that it's Reserva. The place smells wonderful; took me back to Mozart's in Austin. Spacious, yet intimate enough to host our Thursday morning prayer time. You can tell how great a place is by their black coffee, and they did not disappoint.
Service was great, especially the barista serving Taylor, the atmosphere is calm but the music should be a lot more modern🤙🤙
I absolutely love the coffee here. I’ve had Gloria Jeans, Semile, Starbucks, Moonbeans, Jitters, Coffee Zone, Balance Brew, and Il Forno coffee. And Reserva has the best coffee hands down. The coffee is exceptional no doubt. Full of flavor no bitterness and smooth. Great product indeed but it takes more than an exceptional coffee for an all around great experience. There are somethings I would change as per the following: *Have the staff be a little more talkative to customers *Slighty lower lighting *Curtains and plants at 10th location to absorb the echo *Adding a blended option to the online ordering menu *Staying Open atleast till 10pm on weekends Having the staff be more personable I think would take the experience to excellent rather than satisfactory. Now I am not sure as to the instructions to the staff so I would address the owner on this and that is putting up chairs while a customer is still next to the empty table would be considered bad etiquette. I understand they may need to close by a certain time but perhaps do the tables that are away from customers. Also, for the location on 10th street perhaps a row of lights could be turned off I love the lighting at the Ware location but the 10th one leaves something to be desired. 10th street location also has a lot of echo and I think something to absorb the sound would be needed to help with that. I am looking forward to the new location but do hope they do not follow in the footsteps of the other two locations and go with a more traditional coffee shop look that is more inviting. Keep making the same exceptional coffee. A must visit if you are into coffee. I highly recommend the Wildflower Honey Latte and it’s also good blended with ice! I really want this coffee to be around for the foreseeable future.
The vanilla bean frappe is really good, I think it’s one of my favorite coffees to order in the valley! The atmosphere is very calm and nice, and the music is relaxing. Lighting is also perfect for studying. I really recommend this place if you’re looking to get some work done and enjoy good coffee! p.s., Taylor is my favorite barista, don’t forget to tip him☺️
Love the new spot. It’s roomy (lots of space) and decorated so cute and trendy!! Coffee was great and aesthetically pleasing as well! Our group was able to talk and hear each other comfortably. Easy location to find (near Dove Ave on 10th).
Nice coffee shop to enjoy some drinks while working on your laptop or to hang out with friends or family. The prices are accessible, and they also have some interesting mixed drinks such as Matcha Horchata which was very good, we also got the Spicy Chai (with Soy milk, although they have other dairy and non-dairy milk options). The service was very fast and staff was very friendly.
Today my girlfriend and I went to get some drinks in the morning at around 8-9ishAM. We had a blended Matcha Latte with vanilla beans, almond milk, and whipped cream. It was so creamy and delicious. It wasn't too sweet and it was the perfect blend of the matcha flavor and vanilla beans. We also had an iced Almondra Mocha with almond milk. It was bitter and sweet, you can definitely taste the mocha, it was very good. The matcha latte was kinda pricey but it was so worth it, I can't stress this enough it was so good that dispite the price I will definitely get this again. The people that attended us today were also very nice and even brought our drinks to our table. Definitely recommend this place.
Amazing first time experience, the staff was very nice and welcoming. Was there to study for finals and was a very nice and comfortable place to focus, really enjoy that they have different areas where sunlight hits and where it’s dark for personal preference. Study or not, I will definitely come back!
Love the Aesthetic vibes. October is here and best way to study is in a cozy coffee shop. There Coffee is amazing and they are super friendly. Will be definitely coming here to study and drink amazing coffee. Definitely recommend for you to stop by and enjoy a great experience.
Omg I been to coffee places before but not like this one ! It’s nice atmosphere and beautiful unique style to it . The staff is friendly very welcoming Came here with my best friend she got a latte and I got an ice coffee omg! it was super good with a mix of sweet and caffeine it was good kick of it rich and delicious I wouldn’t even know this place existed. All around it’s a nice place to come by to if you want quiet time and a unique place to relax I would highly recommend this and also the pistachio mocha ice coffee it’s really good you wont get disappointed.
Lovely spot to grab a coffee and a bite to eat, then relax to do a little work, read, or chat with a friend. The complimentary mint infused water is refreshing and delicious.
My husband loves the baristas here. Each location has it's vibe. This one is the socialize/gossip with your girlfriends vibe. If you're looking for a quiet place to get some work done, go to the one on McColl. PS: avocado toast anyone?

The baristas are incredibly kind and professional to anyone, which is what makes me want to come back. Not enough coffee places have the quality service like Reserva on 10th. Their matcha is rich and velvety. Not the biggest fan of the price of their salmon toast for the amount they serve for it. Overall, highly recommend this place.
What a find! Asking at our hotel for a 'local' coffee company, we were directed to Reserva. Excellent choice! So wish Reserva was in our city. Not a single negative. Super friendly staff. Highly competent at any dietary request. Huge selection of drinks and food. Professionally and freshly prepared. Clean and welcoming interior (and great bathroom). The food was super fresh and DELICIOUS. We had a kind of eggs benedict which was served with their special sauce, just excellent. Great value for money and a wonderful place I would revisit time-and-again. The staff are such a credit to Reserva. We bought your coffee too as it was superb & will tell all our friends when visiting McAllen to ensure they stop in at Reserva. You are a credit to McAllen and a delicious option for Breakfast & Lunch - or just a great coffee. I was so impressed with the quality of your food, so fresh and well prepared for a coffee shop; that's really unusual and your presentation and service was excellent. Thank you. HIGHLY recommended. GREAT value for money & a really classy little coffee house with MUCH more than coffee. TONS of veggie offerings.
Great coffee, friendly staff, cute to-go cups. A bit pricey. Might not be for everyday, but great for a nice treat.
This is the best coffee shop in the valley. So worth the 8 dollar delivery fee. The flavors are never overwhelming or too sweet. They balance their flavors so well. I love their flavors, they’re so unique. There has never been a flavor I didn’t like. Best coffee.
This is the best location to get coffee! Jack was amazing and always kind when we stop by.
I got a strawberry matcha latte, and it was one of the better matcha's I've had in the valley. Service was great, especially the barista Taylor. I definitely recommend this place to get a quick drink at or even have a study session at.

Nice laid back coffee house. Service was ok since when we ordered there appeared to be only one barista working at the time (11am).
They definitely serve good coffee. However, I don’t think I’m gonna come back anymore. They keep the temperature at 75° which when you’re drinking hot coffee isn’t a very pleasant temperature. I asked if there was any way they could kick it down a little bit, but they said no because that’s what the owner wants and he has it locked. To each their own. Although they have good coffee, if I’m just picking it up, I’ll just go through one of the drive-through options available in the area.
Reserva has been one of my favorite coffee/cafes for a long time, but overtime I've noticed their food sourcing has been going slowly downhill. They changed the brand of their smoked salmon a couple years ago which is ok but the final straw for me was the toast changing from something that had the texture of artisanal bakery to something that had that mass produced smooth spongy texture. Subpar avocado toast doesn't justify the price anymore Coffee is great though 5/5
We used to come here almost every weekday and now it just feels like its quality has been on a decline. They're usually out of products, service is meh, and it's always hot inside 🥲. The last time we went their doors were still locked and it was after 7am, there wasn't any signage on the doors indicating a change. I miss how it used to be.
Coffee was weak and I thought the price was too expensive for my needs. I bought a 16$ bag and was only able to brew three pots of coffee to my needs. I will not be purchasing again. Service there was good as well as the atmosphere. I wanted to find a local roaster, but this one is not for me.
Ordered the matcha latte, not as good as other places. The quality of the coconut milk does not bring out the flavor of the matcha. Service was great. Came here to relax, and read a book. Needed it today. So I thought why not relax and go read a book while sipping a delicious drink. Everything was fine until a man arrived with a mid size dog that he put on top of the booth area. He didn’t care that his dog was going from side to side licking and scratching people’s belongings. Honestly, love dogs. But I don’t go to a place where I can eat goods and dogs are near a table where I put food. That’s unsanitary aside from the fact that the man’s dog was scratching my luxury bag. I’m now thinking that people who do not respect people’s belongings and space come here. Also labeling this place as unsanitary. The dog was inside licking the table in the inside area. I wouldn’t eat here and probably will not come here
*** 02/24/26: EDIT *** Photo of owners initial response to the initial review attached since it was deleted. Response shows how the business handles their reviews and what they think of their customers. I hope future and current customers stay weary of how they conduct their "investigations " to track customers. My review may have come off rude, but my review came strictly from a place of disappointment and worry for how the business may be handling PIl info. Hope the Reserva Team can turn around and do better with their customer service. ————————————————— *02/23/26: EDIT for response to the owner/replier* Unfortunately my name is not Jose, it’s Jovy and that wasn’t my order. As I try to understand how/why an owner needs to check their cameras/transactions to bring up customers’ purchases/names as some form of retaliation for bad reviews I hope it doesn’t involve combing through customers’ PII information. This makes me (and should for others) more cautious at ordering in the establishment, aside from the pettiness and rudeness. I’m sure the owner means well, but employees are who represents the business in the forefront, regardless of what’s “a good fit” for the customer, which sounds like a poorer excuse than the quality, but thank you for confirming the tip issue. I hope AI helps improve the establishment rather than just assisting with responding to reviews. ——————————————— I’ve been to this establishment a few times and decided to give them another try, but just as before the experience from start to end is sadly the same. Walking in the baristas and what I assume is the owner, give the vibe that you’re already annoying them with your presence, from cheery smiles to monotone. Aside from the price, quality, and “atmosphere” being low for how they promote themselves, I found it odd that I wasn’t given the option to tip as the screen went away before I could decide which gives me the impression they’re adding the tip themselves or think I can’t afford it, either way for being a local coffee shop, I can find better quality and customer service for the same price and still support local. Sadly these kind of experiences are why consumers go to coffee chains instead of local. Don’t forget to support your local vendors, shops, artists, and retailers.
Very bright coffee shop. Employees were nice. We got hot chocolates and they mostly tasted like milk, not chocolate, and they weren't very warm. The hot chocolates from the Stripes corner stores taste better and cost less...

A little pricey drinks were good each time i go staff isn’t friendly or look miserable… definitely lacking customer service skills i dont feel welcomed when i go in at all
The guy looked miserable and did not really want to deal with us. I asked for 2 cups of ice and he charged me 5.00. for cups of ice!! The dessert was good and the coffee was ok. The girl there was nice. But I'm still shocked that I got charged so much for ice. It was my first time here but I do think I'll ever come again. Too many options for coffee to go to a coffee shop that overcharges and mistreats.
This coffee shop was a disappointment.Tables were dirty and sticky. Service was horrible. The two passionless employees that were there yesterday morning look like robots. No smile, no greeting. They look depressed working there. Also, a customer brought in dog adding to the chaos. The overall experience was unpleasant and unsanitary. Definitely not a place I’d return to.
Holy Jesus $7.47 for a latte??!! What the actual heck! Who do they think they are?? I lived in New York City for a couple of years and a large latte is a couple of dollars cheaper in New York City. The fact that I don't like getting ripped off by pretentious coffee shop owners will prevent me from returning, but I will say this.... The service was fast and the young man and young girl working there were very polite.
$13 for the absolute worst matcha i’ve ever tasted
Great design and very clean. Just found it a little off-putting that they require you to buy something in order to use wifi ( Wifi password is on the receipt) . I feel like coffee shops are a great place to get together and chill. But it in this case you had to be worth some kind of profit for them to get that experience. :/
Update: I know what coconut milk tastes like. My order tasted exactly like my friend's--who orderd almond milk. Thank you for your reply, Michelle, but you weren't there. Still not coming back. I ordered a matcha with coconut milk. I honestly didnt taste the coconut milk, I told the guy who made it and he told me he did use coconut milk. I still believe he didn't. Not coming back anyways.
**update** I apologize for getting the price wrong in my original review, as that’s what I thought my fiancé told me it cost since I didn’t pay. Regardless, both drinks were pretty terrible. Visited Reserva Coffee Roast for the first time and left incredibly disappointed. The prices are steep — $18 for two medium drinks with no modifications. When I asked about substituting oat milk, I was told it would be an additional $1.24, which felt excessive, so we stuck with regular milk. We also considered a cinnamon roll but passed once we saw it was nearly $9 for a single roll. While the presentation was nice and the reusable cups were cute, the drinks themselves were a huge letdown. I ordered a gingerbread latte, and it was watery with no espresso flavor — just overpowering ginger. The blueberry matcha was even worse; it tasted like blueberry-flavored water with no matcha flavor at all. I was really hoping the high prices would reflect quality and taste, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Overall, this was a disappointing experience and not somewhere I would return.
The only good thing about this place was the atmosphere. The quality of the coffee was poor, the delivery of the coffee and the food was poor, the sears are warped and cracked. My coffee was spilled all over and cold. This was done after they gave me the wrong order from a cup to a mug.
