Great little strip join sushi restaurant that punches above its weight class in terms of price and location. It's great for business lunches or family gatherings. They have a great lunch menu with a ton of filling combo options at a great value. The fish is plump, fresh, and the sides are great as well.

Definitely a hidden gem! Got salmon nigiri and Curry Katsu. The salmon slice was thick, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount and quality. Katsu had a nice subtle crisp to it even covered in curry. Beef yaki udon was really really good, Highly recommend and worth it. We will be back :)

The food was really good, especially the Chicken Oyako Donburi. The chicken is well marinated and tender, and the portion was really large as well. The owners are a sweet, friendly couple who made eating here a greater experience than it already is. They even gave us a free chocolate cake - which tasted amazing (rich chocolate with a lovely crumbly cookie base). I highly recommend this place!

Cute little resto hidden away in Menlo Park about a mile from Facebook . Popped in for a quick bite and was pleased. We had the Chicken Donburi and Veggie Yakemishi (fried rice). Both meals came with Miso soup and salad. Also had the Gyoza appetizer. Good service and open until 9 on weekdays.

Used to pickup for lunch regularly, their service is fast and friendly. Took my gf to try their style of sashimi cuts and we both agreed their rolls and sashimi was better than our other experiences. Will be back for sure and recommend for anyone who is looking for good sushi!

John is the best! This restaurant has the best Japanese food in town. Very friendly staff. Food is ON POINT! Harley Davidson is my favorite roll and lunch bento is phenomenal. Also the agedashi tofu is spectacular as well! Ask for John and tell him Sam sent you!

Prices are right on. Not like other sushi places. The owner actually works which which is kinda cool. (He introduces him self if you know who he is) it's a nice laid back atmosphere of you and a medium group are looking to spend for a easy night. I recommend the fried rice!

Best sushi in Menlo Park. We always order from this place. Excellent teriyaki chicken and amazing sushi, whatever you pick will be good. Ordering for pick up is pretty easy and helps with the shelter-in-place situation.

Great good and friendly service. My favorite is the sake sashimi, which comes fresh slices of salmon sashimi on top of a bowl of rice + miso soup and salad. It’s right next to the Facebook campus, so also a great place for Facebook employees to walk to for a casual lunch or dinner after work.

The owner John is absolutely wonderful! Not only do you get high quality food and drinks here but you get to be entertained by John the whole time. He takes time to come and talk with each table and make sure that you are enjoying the food. This is such a local gem of a restaurant and a must go when in Menlo park for sushi! The quality of the food speaks for itself!

Love this place, it is delicious. I usually order here when there is a birthday. The owner is friendly and often throws in miso soups for everyone. The food is always carefully packaged.

This place is great! I’ve been coming here for a really long time (over 18 years). Food is great! My favorite is the Spicy Ramen on a cold day. The broth is so flavorful. But to be completely honest- EVERYTHING is great. Teriyaki dishes are so good. The rolls are fresh and super tasty and well rolled (these never fall apart!). The owner and his wife (John and sunny) are so friendly. Have a glass of plum wine, a beer or soju and enjoy some great food!

Fantastic rolls! Always super fresh. I love the Alaska, spicy tuna, green love roll, and there's a crunch roll of some kind that's super big and decadent. The owners are really nice and personable and they've have a same main employees for like 20 years

I have lived in this city my whole life and never came to this place till recently & I must say I'm so upset at my self for never trying it out sooner ! The person who hosted us was amazing . She checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything and was so friendly. She didn't make me feel rushed into ordering or leaving. I ordered a bento box with walnut shrimp. The miso soup was so good!! We were given free tea . Will be coming here again

Quality food in a friendly accessible environment since before Facebook took over the area. Portions are large and ingredients are top notch, fish and meat, especially anything on the Specials board. The owner, John, is a great host too.

First of all the service is excellent. The food is very good for the most part. We ordered the deluxe nigiri, Dashi house roll, tobiko nigiri, sake hand roll agadashi tofu, and tempora mix. Only thing that was not good was the Tako (octopus) nigiri. It was very chewy. Everything else was good. Overall, we had a very good experience.

It's the Bay Area. Quality of Japanese food is usually amazing. This is sub-par for the area. Friendly, attentive service though.

Rather an expensive place with smaller rolls. When I asked about a substitution, I expected an additional charge, but not $4 increase.

I had the chicken udon, and it was disappointing. While they provided a decent portion of chicken, that was pretty much it. I expected some veggies, too, but got none. So if you're expecting just chicken and udon with your chicken udon noodle, then that's fine. I, however, have experienced other takes on chicken udon that are far better than what I got here. So I had expected more.

Foods are good but the design of the restaurant doesn't match with Japanese style and the TV show/movie that was showing was horrible; movie with blood spraying.

Decent. Only one server at peak hour. Didn’t have several things they said are on the menu that aren’t, such as pineapple saki. The sushi was mediocre. Service and check took FOREVER.

We chose this place because it is nearby and the ranking is decent. It was a disappointment. The fish in sushi and sashimi was of a somewhat dubious freshness, the roasted unagi was strange, the rice for nigiri looked and tasted like normal overcooked rice. The soup was okay.

There's room for improvement. I ordered the salmon & walnut prawns. Both left me full but unsatisfied. The salmon was extremely dry, bland & slightly over-charred in one bite. The walnut prawns were also bland unfortunately. The sauce on the prawns was actually tasty but it was so scarcely drizzled on the prawns that it didn't matter. Would be nice if there was more sauce drizzled on or on the side. I had to reach for my own bottle of sweet red chilli just for the sake of flavor. This is my second visit that left me disappointed in my meal choice & I don't think I'll be returning.

This is by far the worst "japanese" restaurant in all of bay area because it is not really a japanese restaurant - its run under false pretense either by Korean or Chinese people. The food was absolutely tasteless. Sushi were the size of a nickel each & $8 gets you 6 of them. My wife & I went there at 8:45pm, & the restaurant closes at 9pm. Sushi chefs left at exactly 9pm. Nobody cleaned anything at all: yup the counter where the slice & dice the fish was absolutely untouched. The waitress switched off the TV at 915 pm, while were still eating. She brings the check as we are eating & asks us to pay up cause the restaurant is technically closed! Will never ever go there again.

Service was good however food was not fresh. Horrible dry sushi. Wife has stomach cramps.
