The power shake is to die for! It has strawberries, bananas, and milk plus ice. The staff was very friendly. The pastries look delicious.
Loved the place. The juices are really great. They also have great snacking options. Ambience is nice too!
Sandwiches always fresh and love the low-bread ratio. Spicy Tuna a mouthful of flavor and Joe's Club a standing fave.
The Spicy Tuna sandwich was amazing, I would recommend to get extra protein though . The bread had the perfect crunch.
The food was delicious, a bit pricey but the drinks and sandwiches were healthy and delicious.
Love the sandwiches. They use some low glycemic "bread" that is closer to a cracker in texture but is still satisfying (more satisfying than a lettuce wrap, for example.) Sandwiches are a bit pricey at $10 each but the ingredients fresh. The juices are "healthy" so they don't taste super sweet. I don't think their orange juice is as good as the freshly squeezed orange juice from DeMartini Orchards in Los Altos or from Whole Foods.
I love the energy and vibe here. The workers here are amazing, especially a girl named Mia, she was extremely kind, chill, generous, and radiated good vibes. We need more employees like her! Set a great impression for this cafe. Definitely coming here again!!
Excellent cafe, awesome coffee, fabulous service!
Love the vibe here! Great selection of sandwiches, juices, shakes, and coffee! Great place to study, hang out, or even for a date! Shakes are kinda pricey ($7-8) but they use high quality ingredients and, in my opinion, are definitely worth it.
Great interior decor and ambience make this is a superb coffee spot to hangout, work or meet. Free WiFi and far more spacious and stylish than Starbucks, J&J is a real contender and I hope to see more branches open up around the Bay.
I don’t want the party in my mouth to be over. After simping over their latte and avocado sandwich, I’m ordering a latte to go. Now us Aussies love our coffee, especially Melbournians… my first stop after landing in SF and I’ve discovered a winner! Happy days.
Saw this place on my last trip downtown and wanted to try something new. I love it! Got the cup of joe and a ginger shot. Both were very good. Justin (the barista) was also very nice and made the experience even more enjoyable. The only downside is the prices are a bit high but for such high quality I can't complain.
I've always been a loyal customer at Joe & The Juice, but my experience with Emily took it to a whole new level. She’s not just an employee—she’s the heart and soul of excellent customer service! From the moment I walked in, Emily welcomed me with a warm smile and genuine energy that instantly brightened my day. She’s incredibly attentive, goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect, and her passion for what she does truly shines through. Emily made me feel valued as a customer, and her positive vibe is contagious. Honestly, she’s the best encounter I’ve ever had at Joe & The Juice.
Katelyn took my order this morning…… and made me feel at home. Warm personality, kind manners, and sweet smile. It looks like she genuinely like her job. She also let me know that I could get a free sandwich if I did a QR form thing. It makes a person want to go get some food, when the employees give you a warm welcome. She is an asset to this company. Give this girl a raise!!!!!!! She did an excellent job today. The Serrano sandwich was so so delicious.
I wasn't familiar with the chain, but when I went to Palo Alto, I had the opportunity to check it out, and here are some things I loved: fast internet, ideal for digital nomads or people looking for cafes to work and study, a clean environment, and many friendly staff members! I really enjoyed the experience.
This place is the best. Great coffee, excellent Juice. But the atmosphere is what makes it stand out. It is better than any club or bar I have ever been to. The layout of the furniture is so inviting and comfortable. You can relax here for hours.
The best place for getting sandwiches and juices. Joe's Club sandwich is must try, even there Vegan Avocado sandwich is really good. They have protein smoothies as well. Ginger shot and turmeric shot is something which I always have apart from Sandwiches. Also location is at one of the intersection so no worries about the parking
Anji helped me with my order and was really nice!!!
I recently tried the Hydration Station at Joe & The Juice, and it was incredibly refreshing—tasty and made with fresh ingredients. While the pricing is slightly on the higher side, the convenient location and quality justify it. Definitely a great spot for a quick, healthy pick-me-up!
After hours of shopping at the Stanford mall, I stopped at Joe and the Juice for a drink. The ambience was great! Wasn’t very busy on a weekday afternoon.. I had “go away doc” and it was very refreshing! The coffee was damn nice too! I would definitely recommend to stop by for a healthy food/drink option while you’re around..
The stylish interior welcomes you as soon as you walk in. The friendly barista crafts delicious coffee that hits the spot every time. There’s a variety of sandwiches to choose from, along with plenty of breakfast options. You’ll find everything from brownies to whatever else your heart desires. The coffee itself is flavorful and satisfying. I was particularly impressed with the ambiance of the place; it really stood out to me. The decor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to enjoy your morning brew

Nice space to sit and enjoy the coffee. I think the coffee at blue bottle edges out Joe & the Juice slightly, but J&tJ kids not as crowded and has a nicer environment.
Cool modern space. The open design with floor to ceiling windows makes for a nice place to chill and get work done. A little bit pricy but not surprising considering the location.
My favorite smoothie is The Green Mile. Sooo good. I'd suggest trying with pineapple 🍍 it sounds not good but it's lovely. The only negative is everything is expensive.
This place auto charged me 25% gratuity that I did not mean to give. So my medium latte was $8. Edit: Joe and the Juice refunded me the gratuitous gratuity, so thank you for that.
Love the healthy juice here. Location is just perfect, good seating place for a hangout with friends. Music is kind of loud here and hence meetings or calls will be an issue. Suggestion to the manager here to reduce the volume to help take some meetings too.
They make absolutely the best turmeric ginger shot around. Fresh squeezed apple juice for the base, lots of turmeric, nice dusting of black pepper. And that tangy ginger. Mmmmm. My best afternoon here is a double turmeric ginger shot and a double espresso, which is always piping hot and verrrry strong. Beats the green logo place hands down. Both locations in Palo Alto offer this shot and it's really the best. Plus this location on University is huge, with lots of attractive seating and a nice shaded area out front, too. I like Joe a lot.
Way more chill and relaxing on a Saturday morning than other spots around downtown Palo Alto. Coffee was good - not amazing to my high standards. Staff could smile more. It would be five stars if the staff said things like hello and thank you. Love the style of the place.
Chill, welcoming vibe from the staff and ambiance. Had an Oat Milk Latte, Chocolate Muffin, Serrano Sammy, and Herbal Tonic. 👌🏼 all were excellent. The sammy was surprisingly filling! And the herbal tonic was just what my sinuses needed (sweet on the pallet but powerfully anti inflammatory). My one gripe is the cleanliness here: main floor & bathrooms both need a good sweeping & wipe down. Easy fix. Would recommend for their menu & vibes, still!
The service was great!! The juice taste nice but at $10 a cup is hard to justify. The coffee was what you can find at any coffee shop...nothing special. Overall a little disappointing.

The place was really nice and big, had a chill vibe and we ended up sitting and chatting for 2 hours. But the service was a bit slow because there was only one person taking care of everything.
Product is great! Staff taking order didn't even attempt to make eye contact. Waited for 20 mins for order. asked to repeat because wasn't written down carefully.
Shake was good. Worth $8 if it was served without a side of: rude bro cashier w beanie and tatts trying too hard
Great menu items, however, for a place that serves up cleansing drink items, diuretics and the like, and offers outdoor seating, they should allow its customers a restroom to use. Many restaurants serving food in the surrounding areas do and believe me it is not only helpful but nice and polite.
It’s funny, I went to this place forgetting why I had the impression I didn’t like it before - quickly was reminded. How’re you going to be open at 7, serve coffee, juice, and sandwiches, and not have breakfast sandwiches? Also out of protein, the only thing I wanted in a shake when going to get my wife a green juice. Will remember not to return this time.
Good juice but not worth the size and price. A great setting but id more rather make it an occasional visit than a daily or weekly purchase. Although the juice I got (pick me up) was tasty and refreshing, I could easily make this at home.
This is a nice place to hangout with friends. It's quiet and has lots of places to seat and relax. The biggest issue is the price: ~$7 for a small cup of apple + mint + ginger, which doesn't make sense to me. Also, don't get the small cup. Get the large one, for~$1.5 more.
Over 25 minute wait for my juice plus nearly 10 minutes to set up the app. I think they left out the ginger shot. Juice is a good size but I feel double the price it should be (due to high end location probably). I don’t like they add ice- means watering down for me. They also leave juice sitting on counter with open lid for Covid to enter. Please give me an LA style experience.
Music is WAY too loud, juice is expensive, and some of the tables were dirty. However, it's a nice workspace (not crowded) and the baristas/juicers are nice (though a little slow). The loud music makes it difficult to work.
Perfect location in downtown palo alto. Their smoothies are OK. The place is not the cleanest. The floors are full of small trashes from straws and dust. What is happening to service industry these days!?
I'm not a coffee person, but I typically get an iced tea at coffee places. Not here. The guy acted offended that I asked for iced tea and told me they didn't have any. Uh dude, take some black tea and poor it over ice. I ended up having a juice, which was good, but not sure it was $8 good. I was here for a meeting and will likely suggest a different place for future meetings.
If you plan to eat in, you don’t need to tell them, they will out your food in take out packages anyways, and plates are not available. So much for being a sustainability focused business. It’s freezing inside and the front door is wide open in December. The furniture is chik and comfy but they are playing nightclub music. And for some reason smoothies cost $13. I’ve been to a Joe and the Juice in an airport in Denmark, the inadequacies made sense there, on University Avenue in Palo Alto it was just bizarre.
Very spacious, with a decent amount of seating. The better spots with the rectangular tables are often taken and the round tables are a bit uncomfortable to work on with a laptop. Otherwise, food is like any other Joe & The Juice. Pretty expensive but they make decent shakes.
I’m conflicted. This is a spacious new coffee shop with a nice ambiance. But the wait staff is extremely rude and inattentive. They seem very disinterested in every single interaction with customers and seem like they don’t want to be there at all. The level of service is so poor that it almost feels like you are in a hidden camera show. It’s unfortunate that such poor customer service is diminishing the experience at this otherwise very comfortable cafe. The staff needs to be re-trained to provide better customer service or need to be let go.
The bananas in the açai bowl were stale and frozen. I’ve had much better acai bowls elsewhere. But the atmosphere is great to sit and work.
I’ve only ordered delivery from here so I couldn’t tell you how it’s like in store. The juices are good so I’ll leave that at that. My main concern is that I feel like I’m not getting my moneys worth when I get the sandwiches. Sure, they’re good tasting but the contents inside are measly. I understand that everyone’s experiences and amount of food consumption vary so maybe it’s just me consuming more than others but the price definitely doesn’t match the amount of food you’d think you’d get. So in my opinion, if you don’t mind paying heavy for a light sandwich then go ahead but if you’re looking for something more filling, you won’t find it here.

Pro: Wide space, good to work, beautiful interior Con: Bad coffee (tasted like coffee from a machine at an airport), unfriendly service, long waiting time

I didn't think it was possible to make a bad smoothie.... It's possible. Vanilla milk seems to be used to cover up noticeable lack of fruit. Plus my order was incorrect. Staff is not as friendly as I would have expected.
One employee taking orders and filling them, so it took quite awhile. The juice drink I ordered was very good, but more expensive than I thought appropriate. I would not return.
The drinks are good. The wait is always long... if you have time to wait 20 mins for a latte then by all means. The people are nice but it seems unorganized.
Nice place but prepare to drain your wallet. One unsweetened drink with tax was near $20! Server seemed annoyed that I don't know where to pick up my drink.
So completely disappointing! First of all, employee wipes counter (with nasty rag used over and over) after making our juices and with the same gloves makes our sandwich. The juices were like green water, wrong proportions and completely tasteless. What a waste of money!!!
Service is slow, no oat milk at mid-day on a Saturday and prices are pretty high for their product. Not a fan. If looking for a coffee, any other coffee shop in the area is a better choice.
I wanted to like Joe & The Juice, but I just can't. The menu is pretty cool, and the store itself is really cute, but the wait time for anything is usually upwards of 20-25 minutes. I don't know exactly what the industry standard wait time for juice is supposed to be, but I don't believe it should be over 15 minutes to wait for any beverage. The staff were not all that knowledgeable of the menu they were standing right in front of, and the sense of urgency is not present. Please retrain staff, because we all really want to like J&J!
The juices have interesting names however the owners would do better to spend some time and improve the taste of their drinks. I asked for decaffeinated coffee, but they had only caffeinated.
This review is for their shakes. They use soft serve ice cream as the “vanilla milk.” Why not be honest and upfront that that’s what you use? Why act like it’s “healthy” vanilla milk? Seems dishonest. The avocado sandwich is excellent though. Our kids love it.
I love the red supreme drink and have ordered it at many of their locations. However, the drink I received here tasted nothing like a red supreme. It was extremely chalky and had a weird taste--I could not even drink half of it. Not sure what they did to it.
I had excellent macchiato and espresso in a San Francisco Joe & the Juice so I stopped in Palo Alto to have an espresso ... Super disappointed ... this is not how espresso should look as soon as you get it from the server and you can see the attached picture.
Asked for a cappuccino, got a latte. [Update:] To be clear, I don't think that they got my order "wrong", I think that the person making the coffee didn't know how to use the milk frother properly, to make cappuccino foam.
The coffee is decent we were just stopping before our lunch appointment. I don’t expect smiles but the staff can at least be courteous. I’m sorry I’m not a regular. On a more neutral observation the bathroom was filthy and the soap was empty.

Rude service to my wife. Did not try to understand her order. Way too high prices. Plus, pretending like sugary juices are healthy is unethical.
Just walked into Joe & the Juice No greeting Hostile faces Ignored me when tried to order Just left store due to lack of service If there was a zero stars I would give it
My review was for the Stanford one. My apologies I was so frustrated I didn't pay attention to the address. My family and I haven't tried the one on university
My Blue Magic drink was not mixed well and the girl at the register kept hitting on my spouse. Even more when he tried to pay with cash using a $100 dollar bill I had given him to pay off the amount he spent for a Forty Niners game we had attended two weeks ago. While we waited I went to wash my hands and the restroom smelled like urine and just plain unsanitary and I had to dry my hands with an unused toilet seat cover.
I usually get the Re-build 2.0 shake from other joe and the juice places, but at this location my experience very disappointing. The shake had chunks of dates and I couldn't even drink it out of the straw. I am the not the person who likes to complain, but I paid 10$ for 10oz shake, and I couldn't even drink it!
Employees have no sense of customer service or work ethic. I was debating wether or not I wanted to go in and get a drink with my boyfriend I’ve had before at another location, Stanford Shopping Center, which has equally terrible customer service. We walked back from picking up our lunch, & decided to walk in, the only person in there did not greet us, but looked up from his phone “ Did you and your boyfriend finally stop arguing about wether you guys were coming in or not ? ,” which I found to be most smug & disrespectful greeting I’ve ever encountered.
They a F##king weird customer service! I just bought 2 Americanos and actually tip the gay (tattoo guy) and I was curious about “the ginger shot” so I I asked him what was it? I thought I could add it in my coffee because I love ginger... His response was: (It’s wherever it says there!!). Really?? Not only that, but it was clear he didn’t want us there. Bed attitude. We were having a nice Sunday evening, went to Tamarine Restaurant for dinner and just wanted a nice cup of coffee! Never again!!! Respect
My friend was rudely refused a refund after the barista refused to remove ice from her juice. Barista threatened to call the cops on her. Will avoid this place until they close down and another reataurant/bar opens up at that location. I am honestly surprised how this dude thinks he can get away with this attitude in PA out of all places.
Worst custom service No respect to customers , Not even polite conversation (seller white guy -Nov-19-2019 At 9:07 am ). Why they started at Palo Alto 508 University Avenue. The seller he doesn’t even understand the order properly (white guy) .
I was there last week on a weekday at around 8am. I was charged over $11 for a juice. After a couple of sips I realized that half of the cup was crushed ice, so the actual juice was over. I went to the counter to explain the situation and to ask for a proper juice, and the girl refused to make a new one, saying that "i had drunk most of it". She tried to make me pay for a new juice. I asked to speak with her manager but there was no one in charge. I had to discuss several times for her to make another juice, which was small and warm. Both the first and second juice weren't properly prepared - they were mainly apple juice instead of all the ingredients the "energizer" should have. Terrible service, rude personnel and dirty establishment.
Disgustingly unclean. Music way too loud. Good food and beverages. Nicely furnished. The rugs haven't been vacuumed, let alone properly cleaned, in months (in April, a Yelp review mentioned this, and the owner responded, yet the rug doesn't appear to have been vacuumed since then). The hard surface floors are covered in spills that have been there some time. If the health department comes for an inspection, who knows what else they'd find. Music is so loud customers can't have a conversation, and the staff screws up orders because they can't hear customers. The good news is that if they'd clean the place and turn the music down, it would be a differentiated, good alternative to all Joe's nearby competition. The coffee is nearly Blue Bottle good, the juices and sandwiches are nice, and except for the filth the environment is a cut above.
I went to this place for the 1st time since I have walked passed it several times now. Not sure if I was greeted when I walked in? Nevertheless I greeted with a morning. Not sure if I heard a response?? I ordered what I thought I wanted. I was looking to add something to that drink but I guess that's not an option. Not knowing this so I thought maybe I will get something else that has what I need. I said sorry, can I change my order?? There seemed to be a little irritability about me doing so as the rep moved from one register to another. Understandable, from my point of view but I am not the one working there. I paid for my drink and waited. I said thank you to the person who made my drink and left. The drink gets 5 stars. My 1st time having it. Due to the lack of enthusiasm I received, I won't be going back. I realize we are all going through our own issues due to the Covid-19 era, but if you work in customer service dealing with people at all and you can't handle it. Get the %^$^#^ out of that line of work and do something else. You are the face of the company when someone comes through your doors. If this is how you conduct yourself and I was the BOSS. You would be let go. Because when you lose a 1st time customer this is potential $$$ lossed. I'm not a business person, but to me it seems like a big NO NO. People be careful where you spend your money. 1st impressions have a lot of value.
Employees are unfriendly. I had a bad impression from their attitude the first time I came to this spot, and this has only been re-confirmed multiple times. Also, many of their drinks are arguably not healthy, with high amounts of sugar. I saw them making my drink with Silk chocolate milk, which has a lot of sugar, and I asked to swap out my drink. They refused to do anything about it. Come on ... the ingredients cost a couple dollars, and you want to charge me $10+ for another drink?
Worst experience ever I came during my lunch, ordering my spicy tuna and my pick me up I didn’t even receive it. It took them 40 minutes to realize that I was sitting down on the table waiting for my order. I just requested a refund and took off Jesus Christ.!!!! Now my lunch is over and I have no sandwich. What a bummer.
The one star is for the service. I was the second in a queue to order a Joe & Club sandwich for a quick lunch. Waited for very long. People standing before and behind me grabbed their orders and I was told by staff that they forgot about my order.
Slow service and garbage coffee. Took 4 employees 30 minutes and 9 dollars to make a small half filled cup of mostly just coffee grounds. Floors are filthy and staff looks like they are being inconvenienced by your business.
I got a $10 panini and $9 juice. I arrived a little before pick up time, the guy was still making my juice in the blender. He gave me the juice and the panini. I could immediately tell the panini was cold and hard. When I got home and unwrapped it, there was barely any chicken on it. I normally hate to complain in the restaurant but I wish I had as soon as I knew how cold and hard it was in the shop. Definitely not worth $10 and practically inedible.
Place and location are great, but service and personnel are rude. Earlier today at 5:55 they turned the music on painfully loud, and when I made eye contact with one of them, he gestured that the place is closed by shaking his hand across his throat. I immediately collected my stuff and literally ran out within few seconds during which I had to endure stupidly loud music. Completely f*ed up way to announce that the place is closed (an hour earlier than advertised) and drive everyone out.
The worst juice I’ve ever had. They must’ve added water because the vegetable juice was translucent and tasted as such. To add insult to injury, they charged $17 for it. Never again.
I never leave reviews but this was so bad I had to. One of the worst sandwiches I’ve ever had. We had the tunacado and steak sandwiches: so dry, cold, salty meat, and just sad. The employees were also cold and not welcoming, and the washroom was disgusting. Would not come here again.e
ordered small americano & a acai bowl with kiwi add odd. food was ok but absolutely shitty service. bowl was lying on counter without calling out name - when asked - just staff just threw the bowl across the counter - and it wasnt even busy.
Did not make the non-dairy adjustment to their smoothie that I ordered - which is on their menu, not an original request - and then have been deeply unhelpful and unapologetic in response. REVISED down to 1 star because even the corporate help group was unhelpful and u willing to make this right.
slow service prioritizes doordash orders over walkins. crappy wifi
I have been here a couple of times , service is too bad and super slow , ı will not come here again
This was the worst experience I've EVER.had. Not one of the four people were nice to me or apologized for THEIR mistakes. I told the woman taking my order I wanted it iced. I said it TWICE. I get my sandwhich, she takes it back because she realized it was wrong. I Get handed a HOT drink by a Caucasian guy. In the nicest way I tell him I wanted it iced.I expected him to remake it because it is the right thing to do as an employee. The girl who took my order didn't even take responsibility for her mistake. He rolls his eyes and looks super annoyed. he proceeds to take the drink and pour it in a cup of ice. As a barista myself I have never done this and I expected my drink to be remade. He was extremely rude, the coffee was nasty because it was a watered down hot drink. It didn't have OAT milk which I payed for. terrible service, rude people, extremely unpleased with my service. I drive 25 minutes to come to Joe & the juice and all my friends who have came here have had terrible rude customer service. Im extremely upset leaving this place today, I hope the management fires these people or teaches them proper etiquette.
Came in today my tunacado was extremely watery it was not even solid. It was dripping down all over. They made it wrong. I was going to say something but the staff do not look friendly at all and are a little rude as if they own the place . Also bathrooms are very dirty. Please work on this Also I ordered extra tuna and they did not even use scoops but a knife, seemed like a light amount of tuna considering I paid for extra and bought this sandwich in the past
Truly the worst $13 sandwich I’ve ever had. Two slices of salty turkey, dry nasty bread, 3 half slices of tomato and 2 half slices of mozzarella that were maybe half a cm thick. Atrocious. Won’t ever be back.
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this establishment. The demeanor of the staff was consistently impolite, the cleanliness of the tables left much to be desired, and the coffee tasted more like a diluted version of coffee-flavored water. To make matters worse, when I kindly requested one of the staff members to clean our table, their efforts were careless and resulted in all four of us being unintentionally sprayed with cleaning solution. This unfortunate incident even resulted in my Burberry trench coat getting stained by the chemicals they were using. Additionally, the coffee cups were filled to the brim, leaving no room to actually enjoy the beverage. I strongly advise against visiting this particular location. We did not drink the coffee, it was yellow.
I went in there and the cashier was a chubby latina lady with a giant hickey on her neck lol very professional, And I got a tunacado sandwich and I was eating it It tasted weird And I opened it up and noticed they gave me black brown avocado So I asked them to remake it, and as I’m driving home eating the second sandwich, I noticed they put onions in it, which isn’t even in the recipe so im confused at this point are they trolling or? lol be so fr
Service is extremely slow. Not once but I have been here twice and ordered 3-4 times through Doordash but even the driver had said they have the same issue. Looks like the inefficient management if this js happening consistently. I will not be ordering from Joe and the Juice anymore. Try to value customers time before you lose business all at once.
I kid you not a worker was working on sandwiches at the slowest pace I’ve ever seen someone work at. Also there’s like 5 workers behind the bar not doing anything…like at all. What’s the point of getting a job if your not gonna do anything. Also food and drinks are horrible and I know it’s not even healthy. Go get boba down the street for a healthier experience
FIFTH REVIEW FOR FIVE DOLLARS WASTED. I would like to emphasize that the employees are great. BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD OWNERS. FIVE DOLLARS FOR HALF A SHOT OF GINGER AND APPLE?????????? IS THIS A RUNNING SCAM? WHERE IS THE HONOR??? WHAT ARE YOU DOING. WHY. WHYYYY. COMEON.

The worst juice I’ve ever had. They must’ve added water because the vegetable juice was translucent and tasted as such. To add insult to injury, they charged $17 for it. Never again.
