Delicious and fresh-from-scratch Mexican food with patio seating out back. Chicken Mole enchiladas were awesome, and the salad dressings were truly phenomenal, light and fresh and full of flavor. Great horchata coffee drink too.
Came in here for a Saturday lunch. Not busy at all, only one other table. We ordered and the food was served promptly. Artwork and murals are so colorful, it was a nice contrast to the neutrals that other restaurants go for these days. I got the chipotle enchiladas and my husband the wet burrito with half and half green and red sauce. We might come back again while we are still in the area. $25 per person for a seated lunch out the door isn’t bad these days. Support your local restaurants!
This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants ever. I loved it also because it has dishes that you don't usually find anywhere else. Their red snapper is amazing. The food is so good that we always brings friend from abroad when they come to visit us in the Bay Area
I had a chicken mole enchiladas with a kale salad as a side. Both were incredibly delicious! I am a big fan of Mole, and I must say this mole has beaten any that I have ever tried so far! The kale salad was very well-balanced in terms of flavors. The service was great and the owner was absolutely delightful! Loved, loved the place, and will be definitely coming back soon!
Food here is delicious and a bit more on the expe side side. The restuarant itself is incredibly warm and inviting and the staff is kind and helpful. Food was received quickly after ordering, and was excellent. Constantly refilling waters and checking in seeing if there was more that we wanted. Will definitely come back with some more friends.
I moved away 8 years ago. I still dream about the Suizas de Mariscos.
Everything is five stars. A very friendly staff member took my to go order, and it didn't take long at all. The chicken burritos and tortas are excellent, and the ingredients are well proportioned throughout the burrito. The food was packaged securely in a tight bag and with some of the best chips and green salsa I've had around here. Thanks mama coco, I'll be back
The food here is excellent. All the dishes that I have tried have been a well balanced combination of flavors. For example the flank steak comes with a small portion of enchiladas smothered in a rich mole sauce that complements the meat nicely. The restaurant is family run and everyone is very friendly and eager to discuss the food with you. Mama Coco is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and I plan to be a frequent diner.
Sangria and the cochinita pibil were fantastic!
Amazing food, tastes like home.
I got the Al Pastor Torta and it was sooooo delicious and melted in my mouth. I loved the chipotle aioli sauce too & the grilled pineapple- it added so much flavor. Staff was also so welcoming and nice! Service was also fast! Definitely will be coming again. ♥️
One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve visited in the Bay Area. Fresh ingredients and good cooking can be tasted in all the dishes available. Would highly recommend bringing the whole family or a group to try a bit of everything. Great place for lunch or dinner
This is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant! I recently had a birthday dinner of 20 people in the back patio area and not only was the food amazing, the staff was so helpful and accommodating. There are plenty of options for vegetarians (my favorites are the tostada salad and fajita quesadillas but the mole enchiladas are also amazing!) and meat eaters alike. The drink options are many and my friends loved the mango and spicy margaritas. The waiters are extremely kind, respectful, and fun! Maraisa especially is the best and got us the best spot in the restaurant. Don’t sleep on this place!
Great Mexican restaurant with homely ambience for casual dining. Everything we ordered tasted amazing. I especially liked mango Margarita, pastel azteca cake and Chile Rellano with chicken. Ceviche de pescado and carne a la tampiquena was very good too. Must try if you live nearby.
Very friendly staff. Quality ingredients. Fast service. Perfect choice for working days lunch time. Really like this Mexican restaurant in Menlo Park downtown. Highly recommend their salad with grilled salmon.
Wonderful meal! Excellent service! We regularly drive from Pacifica to enjoy lunch here. Try the Michelada. Highly recommended.!
The atmosphere in this place was AMAZING!!! I can’t say enough about the customer service at this establishment. They serve the food fast, even on a busy night, and don’t sacrifice the quality of the food to do so. I would recommend this place to everyone! The fish and shrimp tacos are to die for!!!
Excellent service! Good quality of food and excellent margaritas... Shrimps are the freshest and juiciest I ever had. Had to co back after my first visit!
Absolutely phenomenal. After living in the bay for more than a decade, this may be the best Mexican food I've had here. I was honestly blindsided by the quality of the food and the care taken to prepare it. I'm so glad I also ordered their horchata iced coffee on a whim. It was delicious.
This place has amazing mole enchiladas that I came two days in a row; one time was dine in and the other was take out . 10/10 experience. I will be sure to stop by whenever I’m in town!

Delicious food (the nachos in particular might be the best I’ve ever had) and amazing service. The kind of place that you leave delighted, satiated, and with the intention of coming back.
The enchilada mole was very good and the services too. there is limited parking to get there . but it is worth it. Definitely, i'm coming back soon 👌
Loved this restaurant. Perfectly balanced traditional dishes with that elevated taste that you can’t find anywhere else. You have to try the cochinita pibil!!
Absolutely loved this adorable place. Beautiful murals, friendly service and delicious guacamole and tamales!!! So glad we stopped in!

A bit chilly and overcast so I ordered a cup of tortilla soup. But really, how can you get excited about tortilla soup? It was amazing! Rich and spicy -- had a kick. Not standard-fare Mexican food. Wonderful spices, seems authentic. Try the flan.
Solid food and great service! Wish the salsa had more heat/spice but overall we enjoyed our dinner. The queso fundido is excellent.
Everything was good till the oncoming waitress tried to bully me for a larger tip, even though she never waited on us. Our waitress was very friendly and courteous.
Staff were very friendly and the restaurant interior was very traditional, with a cute outdoor patio. It was fairly traditional Mexican food; I ordered the enchiladas which were really great. Ordered a Margarita which was fairly bland and watered down. Overall, solid spot for Mexican food in Menlo Park, but I'm sure there are better options out there.
80% flavor 👌😙🧑🍳 the other 20% feels too commercial. It's like when you take the first bite is great but as you continue eating, you start thinking...hmmm they could have seasoned this a little more (key in mexican food is sazonar) Some dishes lack execution. Huaraches need more time on the grill. I understand meats & chorizos are important but I think Mexican restaurants rely too much on the meats for most of the flavor. Leaves the vegetarian dishes lacking ingredients that could elevate a simple dish like a huarache. For example grilled mushrooms. Salsas are very well done though. Mole is very diluted but their chipotle sauce is really good. Just less salt and more chipotles. But the decor of the restaurant is very homey and inviting.
The seafood enchiladas were amazing! Chile relleno was great as well. We didn't like the chicken/steak tacos appetizer, but we still recommend this restaurant. Their seafood dishes are especially worth a try!
Friendly and helpful staff. We were looking for patio sitting and found this from Google map. Their patio was reserve for a party but they found a solution for us. Fish tacos, mariscada and ceviche mixto were very good. Kid’s meal is decent portion. Strawberry margarita was super. Pet friendly
Outdoor and indoor seating, bright, friendly restaurant. Super fresh, super delicious, and not too heavy or greasy. Only one type of salsa with hint of fresh jalapeno and cilantro. Otherwise, ask for jalapeno on the side for a spicier kick. A great place to relax and enjoy real Mexican food.

Pretty expensive, have to pay for chips and salsa, and service not well. The food however was pretty good I ordered the Chile rellano and tacos. The Chile rellano was extremely good bursting with flavors and veggies. Best horchata I've ever tried but wish they served more of it. Had to ask for water more than once. Overall, glad I've tried but I live out of the area so probably won't be coming back.
Was able to walk right in and sit down. Quick and friendly service. I ordered the Pollo Al Chipotle. I loved the rice and the sauce was fine but the chicken itself was tough and I didn't enjoy the flavor of it. Tamarind margarita was pretty good. The overall experience was fine but expensive for the quality of the meal.
Came here for a late lunch. Had an ok experience, the service was fine and the atmosphere was nice. I ordered a tostada salad with grilled salmon and it was delicious! However my husband ordered carne asada and it was served wet which honestly wasn’t very good. They don’t serve chips and salsa for the table and it was also pretty expensive, so we won’t come back again.
Maybe I visited on a bad day or just had too high expectations but the food I had was very bland and unnoteworthy such that i would not go back. Portions and service were good however.

Honestly the food was not what I expected at all. They do give large portions, but not a single person in my party of five finished their food because it was quite unsatisfactory. Although I do acknowledge that we had a few substitutions due to dietary restrictions, even the people that made no changes were unhappy with the quality.
I ordered the Suiza de mariscos. It says that it has snapper, but I found one small piece of it. The poblano sauce had no flavor at all. The rice had no flavor, the beans are salty. Not worth the price. I also ordered enchiladas de Pollo and the same thing the sauce had a funny little taste, I am Mexican and I have had my share of enchiladas but this sauce was weird. I couldn't finish them. Waste of money. The food looks good, but it is not. Won't be buying here again.
⭐️⭐️=Fine, but not recommended (1=Avoid, 3=Standard, 5=Can't Miss). Pricey for what you get. You could make a case for 3 stars is if you wanted a burrito or some of their $10 happy hour items (available after 2pm) to go. But I agree with some other reviews that this place is somewhat lacking in flavor. Parking is also a little inconvenient as this spot is on El Camino, so you have to look for parking either behind the restaurant or along Santa Cruz in downtown Menlo Park. For lunch we ended up spending more than $30 per person, which is why I think it's fair to give this place 2 stars without being too negative because although the portions were good, the price was not.

Big letdown compared to the one in San Carlos. The desks are all very sticky. $11 guac is not even freshly made and tastes like from packages. Overall pretty salty and the most surprising part is the manager switched off the lights in our area. We turned them back on and the manager just looked at us not saying a word…
Beware if you pay with debit or credit card they will change your tip amount or add a tip to accommodate the sever. Let me tell you my experience on Friday May 30th between 4-6pm. My brother took our family for dinner (6 of us) while waiting for my mom to get out of surgery. We ordered & service was ok basis food was not impressive at all. My brother paid the bill & left a tip, the menu said parties of 6 or more is 18% gratuity so after payment was made another server comes to tell my brother that if he doesn't change his tip to 20% she will would be changing it herself once we left! I was a server for 20 years & couldn't believe what I was hearing, I pulled her aside & reminded her it is illegal to change the amount on someone else's credit card bill & let her know that she should be ashamed of herself trying to force someone into giving a 20% tip when the menu clearly says 18%!! She got mad & started slamming dishes as we finished our time there & kept giving up dirty looks as she walked by. So sad she felt entitled & it wasn't even our server to begin with! Never going back there again!!
Guy making my burrito took a handful of the inside and put in a bowl to the side. I feel like he did it on purpose cause I was watching. The kitchen was a mess and I was making sure he was practicing safe cooking. THE girl who works there always has this attitude like I’m an inconvenience to her. I don’t think they like people of color too much here. This will be my last time coming to this place.
Terrible food. Steak (tacos) were dry. Leftover taste. Tamales: chicken was dry and pork had no flavor. Nachos were terrible. Fried calamari: the tubes were chewy but the tentacles were ok.
I know being in Menlo Park means limited options for Mexican food but I had hoped for a decent meal coming in here. After looking at a pricey menu (Menlo Park averages) I was recommended to have the Al Pastor burrito. For $15, I'm disappointed to say the least. 1/3 Rice, 1/3 Beans, 1/3 Guacamole and Pico. I had to dig around in the burrito to find the sprinkle of pastor they had put in. Usually I don't complain when it comes to food, but for what I paid, I expected more than 1oz of meat. The staff and restaurant is nice enough, but Sad to say it, I won't be coming here again.
Atmosphere was very nice! Our server was exceptionally attentive to our needs, but the food lacked in quality and flavor. The meat was of lower quality than described, and very stiff. The queso was the best part of the meal! 👍 The place was empty. That should’ve been a clue for us to go somewhere else.
