Cantina tradicional en el centro de Mérida con un gran ambiente y música en vivo. No cuenta con aire acondicionado, pero eso no importará para que puedas pasar un rato agradable. Bebidas buenas y la comida no es de lo mejor, pero es pasable

Experiencia increíble, la comida deliciosa, música en vivo. Buenos tragos. El único punto "malo" es que cierran a las 10:00 PM... y desde las 9:00 cierran órdenes. Recomiendo llegar unas horas antes del cierre para disfrutar. Los tacos de lechon uff 10/10

Can't speak to the food, we were there only for a tequila flight hefore heading to dinner. I would spend a whole night here if I were two years younger. Great music the night we were there.

Came in for a drink at the bar and was offered free botanas (snacks) which I did not expect, but were delicious. My drink was really good too and could actually notice the alcohol (had 3 cocktails last night and felt 100% sober..). I'll be back to have a meal, prices look great also.

I love this place for all of the reasons! It has become one of my favorite places in the world. The live music night after night is top tier. There’s typically a band and a DJ who plays in between the band sets. Each night is a different vibe. The nights went featured salsa and mainstream jams, and cumbia and Puerto Rican sounds. The service is great and the drinks are good and reasonably priced. There is a server that comes around and drops snacks on the table all night so if you’re not super hungry but want to drink and enjoy the vibes they will make sure you still have something on your stomach. I want to note this is a locals spot so if you visit please remember that and respect what they got going on. They come after work, or to meet up with friends, or to dance and have a ball. This is not a tourist spot where you’re catered to, many of the servers only speak Spanish so brush up on your ‘da me la cerveza o mezcal o tequila’ phrases.

True Mexican cantina. Lots of little botanas (small plates of snacks) included while you drink during the lunch hours. Beers and drinks were reasonably priced plus you can actually order quart sized mixed drinks. We were there for lunch. Music was playing but it didn't disrupt conversation.

We arrived at about 8:30 and there either was no food left or they couldn't be bothered to serve it. We dined on a bowl of nachos. But, the atmosphere and band were electric. People could not stay in their seats. They were dancing wherever there was a gap between tables. A very memorable night. However, they close at 10pm so it was a short evening.

My husband and I decided we had wanted to hear some live music and this was a recommendation we received. And this was an amazing experience. Live music, people dancing, smiled abound. A happy mix of locals and tourists all enjoying the sounds and tastes of this super cool cantina! As we sat a waiter came around with some yummy little bites, (free) before we even ordered drinks! We ordered a few Bohemias and then our meals, which WHOA the portion sizes were beyond expectations. My husband had shrimp and langoniza quesadillas which were massive and delicious! I had a mixed plate of 4 tacos and that too, amazing and quite generous in size! As we did not know nor expect the portion sizes to be so large we ordered some guacamole with pork rings! Best guacamole we've ever eaten and even the waiter was surprised at the amount of food we ordered, and virtually finished! If you want to hear some live music, have some amazing food and even dance a little, THIS IS THE PLACE! All of this with shots of mezcal and a few beers and tip came to about 55-60usd! Don't miss this place!

Es un lugar muy recomendable para visitar en Merida. Por las noches hay música en vivo para bailar y se arma buena la fiesta. El lugar es muy informal, por lo que te olvidas de personas pretensiosas. Ahi vas a disfrutar con tus amigos. Buenos precios aunque cuando el lugar está lleno el servicio entra en crisis.

Me recomendaron el lugar, realmente un ambiente increíble. Ordene y al instante cancele porque fui sola y era mucha comida. El mozo me dijo que se lo descontarían a el. Eso no me parece porque realmente no pasaron ni 2 min de la cancelación. El camarero fue muy amable, no me parece que tomen esa medida.

Español Visitamos La Negrita Cantina en Mérida un par de veces, siempre entre la 1 y las 6 pm. A esa hora hay poca gente y suficientes mesas, así que no tuvimos que esperar. El servicio es un poco lento, así que no seas tímido y levanta la mano para pedir atención. En nuestra segunda visita nos sentamos en la barra, lo cual hizo que el servicio fuera más rápido. El lugar es agradable y con mucho ambiente. Por la tarde–noche, después de las 6 pm, hay música en vivo; antes de eso ponen música variada a un volumen moderado, lo que permite platicar sin problema. Lo único que no me gustó fue que no nos dieron la oportunidad de disfrutar la primera barra que está justo en la entrada. Es muy bonita, pero no está abierta al público, lo cual es una lástima. ⸻ English We visited La Negrita Cantina in Mérida a couple of times, always between 1 and 6 pm. During that time there are few people and plenty of seating, so there’s no need to wait. The service can be a bit slow, so don’t be shy—raising your hand helps. On our second visit, we sat at the bar, which made the service noticeably faster. The place has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. In the late afternoon and evening, after 6 pm, there’s live music; before that, they play a mix of music at a reasonable volume, making it easy to have a conversation. The only downside was that we weren’t allowed to sit at the first bar right at the entrance. It’s beautiful, but not open to the public, which is a shame.

Es un botanero típico de Mérida, tiene alta demanda y no es muy grande, por lo que si quieren ver al grupo de Son Cubano que empieza a las 6 p.m. deberán llegar temprano. La comida a la carta muy rica y típica, las botanas son ligeras, quizás por lo lleno del lugar el servicio no es bueno, muy lento y saturados los meseros. Sin embargo, el ambiente es lo mejor, lo recomiendo 👌

La Negrita Cantina – Mérida, Yucatán I visited La Negrita Cantina with a group of four and we were seated at a table close to the stage, where a live salsa band was playing. The band itself was excellent—energetic, tight, and clearly enjoying what they do. The music created a fun, vibrant atmosphere, although there wasn’t much space for dancing. Most people were standing or sitting and watching, and surprisingly, the crowd felt a bit subdued for such lively music. The cantina itself is absolutely beautiful. It’s colorful, full of character, and the walls are covered with historical and cultural elements that make the space feel authentic and rooted in Mérida’s past. This was one of the highlights of the experience. Service was good—attentive and friendly waiters. The lady at the entrance should wipe down her smugness and stop judging people by appearance. I have ordered a Cuba drink, but unfortunately it tasted quite watered down, which was a disappointment. They do offer botanas, but we chose to order from the main menu instead, and the appetizer we had was very good and well presented. Overall, La Negrita is a fun and visually striking place with great live music and solid service. That said, it does feel heavily oriented toward tourists. While I am a tourist myself (visiting from the U.S.), I couldn’t shake the feeling that the space doesn’t prioritize or warmly include locals in the same way, and that’s something that personally bothers me. With such a rich cultural setting and strong musical talent, I wish the energy felt more inclusive and community-driven. Still, it’s worth a visit—especially for the ambiance and live music—just go in knowing it leans more toward a tourist experience than a local cantina vibe. I have no intentions of returning back here.

Very fun lively atmosphere with a live band. The music great (and local) Was given complimentary chips at the beginning. We also ordered nachos with pollo (chicken) - massive portion! It was a Friday and we were there around 7:45 onwards but it was busy!! Online menu is extensive and it reached via a QR code. Only negative point is that the cocktails are super watered down and sugary - Probably why many tables were ordering just beer.

Very fun lively atmosphere, live Cuban band. The music great, somewhat crowded but people had no problem creating space to dance. Wasn't able to have food or drinks as we had to wait outside in line and by the time we entered the kitchen was closed. So if going on a Friday get there before 8 pm to enjoy the full experience.

Love this spot. It’s a vibe there’s live music cheap beer and mezcal flights. You get tons of bar snacks when you drink: peanuts, cucumbers, pork rinds, something to absorb the alcohol. a great place for friends or for a date. Also this bar is 100 years old plus with a huge outdoor section

Muy buen ambiente, música en vivo, estaba lleno cuando fui, la botana no es su fuerte, pero sí pasas un rato agradable en el lugar, para bailar y escuchar buena música tropical en vivo.

Lugar lindo, bebidas y alimentos buenos, precios buenos tmb. Es una lástima que tengan esa hostess, de verdad que quita las ganas de volver al lugar. Desde que llegamos nos aventó el menú, y cuando le pedimos la cuenta estaba acomodando a una pareja que venía llegando y volteó a verlos para decirles que ya se iba a desocupar nuestra mesa cuando aún ni nos traían la cuenta ni teníamos intención de irnos en cuanto pagáramos. Una actitud súper nefasta. Los de la entrada tmb pidiendo la INE con una actitud despota. Creo que los únicos que nos atendieron bien fueron nuestro mesero y el otro señor que repartía la botana. Tmb que onda con que de todo el menú solo tienen tres cervezas👎🏼

La comida nunca ha sido la gran cosa, pero la botana ha demeritado bastante, tienen el nivel y la afluencia como para dar mejor calidad botonera. Va muchísima gente, por lo que el servicio a veces es un poco lento. Los precios están dentro de lo esperado al ser un lugar con mucha clientela turista extranjera, la música está padrisima al igual que el lugar. Eso si, las personas que están en el acceso siempre han tenido una actitud de los mas desagradable, cual es la relación entre administrar el acceso y tener una pésima actitud ?? Uno va a divertirse, a pasarla bien, eso deberían cambiarlo

El lugar es muy colorido, algo caluroso, lo que no me gusto es que hay muchas moscas, los meseros se desviven más por atender a los extranjeros, se olvidan de atender tu mesa, la comida está buena, pero nada fuera de lo normal, tienen música en vivo, los baños están terribles, les falta higiene, te ofrecen sus promociones, no demoran tanto en la preparación de alimentos y bebidas.

Acudimos a este lugar con mucha expectativa por la recomendación de varias personas, pero la comida y el servicio fue decepcionante. Además de que en la fila dejaban entrar a algunas personas que llegaban después, tenían musica en vivo que te hacía sentir en unos quince años (ni actual, ni buena). Pedimos un cóctel de camarón y parecía más una ensalada de pepino con cebolla; la micheladas tiene mal sabor y el trato es déspota.

Lovely place. People who work there are also great. The overall atmosphere is great. The only problem is regularly caused by ones hired to book tables. That is beyond any civilized communication I have seen. They would confirm table but never bothered to really book!!! Not once, week after week the same all over. No explanation or apology after complaint. They keep ignoring guests. Wild. Only 3stars because they water down drinks to maximum. Barely any alcohol in cocktails. Beer is better option. Overall, enjoy if you can.

I came for the mezcal flight with chapulines but was told after getting the flight they didn’t have. He didn’t explain the types of mezcal either. For $300 pesos it could have been a better experience. Drinks are big but not the best.

La Negrita ya no es cantina. Las secciones más antiguas las tienen “cerradas”, se molestan los meseros si te sientas en esas áreas. La botana ya no es la misma y gentrificaron los kibis, no llevan guacamole y pico de gallo ;( tan buena que era

Gran ambiente y muy auténtico, con música en directo y gente bailando. El servicio deja que desear, tuvimos que pedir la cuenta 3 veces porque el camarero decidió ir atendiendo otras mesas y a un grupo de conocidos. Cuando fui a pagar me dijo que la propina “sugerida” era obligatoria y que el mínimo que tenía que añadir era del 10%. Obviamente me quejé porque su servicio no fue el mejor y añadió la propina sin que me diera cuenta. Solo espero que no fuera por ser extranjero. No volveré.

Fui ayer 23/02. Bajo muchísimo la calidad del servicio. Los meseros te atienden sin ganas, se equivocan x no anotar el pedido, la comida fría, a destiempo, la cerveza caliente. Convencí a unos amigos de ir xq veces anteriores la pase bien, pero no vuelvo mas. No hay wifi ni para las terminales de cobro,uno debe acercarse a las cajas para su cobro.Lamentablemente me decepcionó mucho este lugar, no vuelvo.

I hope there problem wasn't Ageism, but, all the younger folks were waited on as we older folks sat and waited 15 minutes to order a beer. Truly liked the music and cantina atmosphere . As we walked out heads were lowered and eyes turned away. To the owner..old money is good money. We would have had 2 or 3 drinks and left so your table could have turned, not sit for ever.

The music and vibe were excellent, but the service really soured our experience. We never received botanas after asking twice and waiting an hour, even though others around us did. We would have ordered food too, but we were so discouraged by the slow service that we didn’t want to risk it. It’s a busy place, but they’re busy every night, so I would think they would know how to plan better for it. La Negrita has all the makings of excellence, but falls short on execution.

Honestamente no entiendo la fama de este lugar. Parece ser popular principalmente por su reputación, pero la experiencia en general fue decepcionante. El servicio fue extremadamente lento y el personal no parecía muy atento ni interesado. La comida fue promedio, nada especial ni memorable. Por el precio y las expectativas que genera su fama, esperaba mucho más. En mi opinión, hay muchas cantinas locales más pequeñas en la zona que ofrecen mejor sabor, servicio más rápido y una experiencia más auténtica. Definitivamente no vale la pena la espera.

Nos corrieron 20 minutos antes de la hora que dicen cerrar (10pm), y aún así nos vendieron bebidas 10 minutos antes. Nos hubieran avisado para ni siquiera pedir, dejamos a la mitad nuestras bebidas porque apagaron las luces para corrernos. Pero buena música en vivo.

La orquesta en vivo génial, la noche fue muy agradable gracias a ellos. El servicio pésimo. Fuimos un martes y el lugar estaba con pocas personas, se demoraron en tomarnos la orden aunque ya había llamado al mesero. Tuvimos que abrir las cervezas nosotros mismos porque el mesero estaba más preocupado por otra mesa que estaba consumiendo más. Los cócteles eran pura agua con sabor(pedimos un Aperol y una margarita). Al final dije que no iba a pagar propina y el señor fue súper grosero y empezaron a decir que nos saliéramos del lugar que ya iban a cerrar(hora 9:35pm, aún había mucha gente). Para ellos es obligación que se pague la propina por un servicio tan malo.
