Opinions de Call Me Gaby Miami
Customer service was TOP Notch. Lorenzo and Raul both treated us like A-list guests and we had never met them before. They gave our party of 8 a beautiful spot upstairs with a live dj and top notch wait staff. We were promptly given excellent recommendations on beverages and were pleasantly surprised at by the burst of flavor in each drink. What’s more is that the food was the BEST Italian food that we’ve ever had in the states!! And the portion size was perfect. Lorenzo made sure that everything was according to our liking and he made sure that our brother’s Birthday was super memorable topped with song, candle and dessert. We felt like we’re known there, and that we were valued guests in their home. Very, very impressed. Each of us agreed that we will make “Call Me a Gabby,” our must attend spot every time we fly back. Bravo and Gratzi!
I was hesitant because it’s such a hyped place, but it absolutely lived up to all the recommendations!! The atmosphere is delightful, the drinks are amazing (order the Il Vesuvio), and the food is unreal (get the tiger shrimp with pappardelle in lemon butter). It was so good that we went twice in 7 days.
Charming owners and servers. Asian pear salad was creative and outstanding. The pizza variants were delicious and cooked perfectly. Drinks pricey but very tasty. The house Chianti (by the glass). Higher end but again, slightly mire than should be charged ($17). Skip dessert Make sure you dine outside.
Great spot in Miami with delish food and warm and fun ambience. While there’s no shortage of restaurants in Miami we keep returning here for dinner when in town. The only con is that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to your check while we prefer it was left to our discretion based on service we receive.
An unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had been transported straight to Italy. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was outstanding, and the service was truly exceptional. My server Mariana was excellent she made sure every detail and my orders were on point, I would come again just for that service, as well the drinks prepared by Oscar were amazing. The manager for the night was very attentive. Highly recommend!
A great little find. Make sure you dine outside to enjoy this place. The menu has plenty of options and the pinzes are a great choice. Salads are large. Staff are attentive. Venue is on the pricey side but quality of the food is what matters here.
A chic and romantic spot in South of Fifth — perfect for those who want to escape the busy party scene. The handmade Pinsa Romana pizzas are light and delicious (try the Carla with mortadela!), cocktails are floral and creative with hints of lavender, and the Antonella Nutella dessert is pure heaven! Prices are on the higher side, but totally worth it for the quality, ambiance, and experience.
Loved this cozy italian restaurant for a casual date night. We ordered the Andrea Pizza (more like a focaccia) and a bolognese pappardelle - both fantastic! We did not order desert but everything looks incredible. We definitely will be going back to try some more plates. Highly recommended.
As you can see by my photo… the food was so amazing I couldn’t even take a photo before devouring it! We came here for a late Valentines Day meal, and it was superb. The people were classy and quiet, waitstaff was incredibly fast, and again the food was spectacular.
A real find in So Beach. Eat outside and "people watch" or inside if it gets too hot. Great food, pizza, salads. Great and attentive service and some interesting wines and not given the usual So Beach markup!
The food was top notch. The ravioli with veal osobuco was amazing, focaccia, meatballs and pisa were also fire and the grand finale tiger shrimp w/ pappardelle was killer. Highly recommend by Big T.
Call Me Gaby is an absolutely wonderful restaurant in Miami! The food is outstanding, and one of the highlights is their watermelon salad, which is simply amazing. Every table is served with authentic Italian olive oils from Frantoio Muraglia, adding an extra touch of quality and flavor. The atmosphere is chic yet welcoming, and the crowd is fantastic — I even ran into supermodel Cindy Crawford while dining there, which shows how well-frequented this place is. It’s the perfect combination of style, taste, and ambiance. Truly a must-visit in Miami! Lugar extremamente agradável, envolto por muita natureza, muitas flores e pássaros. Música boa, gente bonita e comida deliciosa!!’
Amazing spot!!! They have a diversity of choices for real italian food!!! Very delicious and they delivered as expected!!! Beautiful and romantic outside area seating, to enjoy the weather and their food!!! We had 3 different cocktails but we were disappointed of them, from outside very nice, but the taste, 👎! Overall the spot is a top spot to have a romantic dinner!!!
I love everything from the drinks, to the food and the service. I followed our waitresses' recommendations and everything was amazing
I had a pleasant experience at Call Me Gaby. The receptionist was very welcoming and kind, which set a great tone for the evening. However, the waiter seemed a bit rushed and impatient, which made the service feel less attentive. The food was a mix of hits and misses. The watermelon salad was absolutely delicious and a highlight of the meal. The burrata and meatballs were decent but could have been better in terms of flavor. The ambiance was enhanced by the nice music, which created a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, it was a good experience, though there’s some room for improvement.
What a find! We came here for a small birthday dinner with a party of 3 and loved it. We sat outside and the decor and whole atmosphere was just great. Lovely lights and cute garden. The food was amazing. Good sizes and very tasteful. The busboys are wearing funny pizza statements on their shirts.
Went to this restaurant last night. I had the hangar steak pictured below. I highly recommend it. Cooked to perfection. Great vibe and atmosphere at this place. We started with the antipasto platter. Perfect for 4 ppl. A little surprised that this restaurant does not offer gluten free pasta or pizza. My spouse and sister in law had the homemade pasta. Excellent and big portions. Must see place in Miami Beach
Outstanding experience. The atmosphere sitting outside is so inviting and sophisticated, the service was excellent and the food was first rate. We look forward to returning!
Beautiful ambience, phenomenal service, and everyone was so kind! Thank you to Raul and our wonderful server who made for an unforgettable dining experience!
Raul and linda were very nice and attentive. Food is always so delicious. Never disappoints. Will definitely be back again. Highly recommended 10/10
Wow! Just wow! This place is something... something out of this world! The league of its own, probably one of the best Italian restaurants that I've ever been. Great atmosphere, very professional stuff and food that will evoke a standing ovations from your taste buds! Burrata salad, Maria pizza and cheese filled ravioli absolute dope! Must have! Keep in mind that this place is extremely popular among locals and tourists, so advanced reservation highly recommended.
The most beautiful restaurant! My friends and I visited on a Saturday for dinner, and had the most wonderful time. Food was impeccable, drinks were great, and service was also fantastic. I got the seafood pasta ($42) which was incredible. My only wish is that the portions were bigger but it did leave me feeling satiated. While this place isn’t on the more affordable side, because the ambiance and service was great, I would consider it worthwhile and will definitely be returning. Make sure to get a table outside!
10/10 in everything they do. Design, atmosphere; service, cleanliness, attention to detail, food and drinks. Salad was perfect and light, bucatini cacio e pepe was so fresh and perfect and the margarita was excellent. Dough is light and airy and a lovely new twist. Our drinks were fantastic and the place was packed. Music, open windows, low lighting, people having a good time everywhere it was a a palpable vibe. Our waiter was superb and I cannot wait to be back in Miami and come again. This is your sign to book!!!
The food is impeccable and authentic. It's located right by Joe's but not stuffy at all. Cute, casual and has a great vibe. The mona Lisa pictures are too funny. The dj (who, by the way is the amazing chef, carmine) keeps it lively and upbeat. Lamb and beef meatballs, truffle pizza, branzino, pasta, and tiramisu..... Allll amazing. Let's not forget the drinks. Craft cocktails made by the fantastic Milosh are deliciousnes. I'd come back again and again.
Call me Gaby, Call me Beautiful ❤️ This is a gem of an Italian spot in Miami beach, with an adorable & romantic vibe. Whether you are seated indoor or outdoor, you will love the setting especially in the evening with the sea garden breeze, lovely people around and delicious Italian food. We tried the Spinach goat cheese salad first which had tasty little flowers of goat cheese fried for crunch and blended nicely with fresh dressed Spinach & pistachios. For mains, we had a classic pizza margherita & an experimental pizza Carla with spinach, pesto, pistachios & loaded mortadella. Each bite tasted great & the crust was perfect! It was my birthday & so they even brought a little Tiramisu cup with candles which was special:) If you’re looking for a cute pizza spot in Miami, look no further than Call me Gaby.
Authentic Italian cuisine in a large, beautiful setting. Basics like focaccia and arancini are excellent. Pizza and pasta are very good. Bar service is outstanding. Salad vegetables are fresh. Great place for business or social meal. Highly recommend if you are in the South of Fifth area of South Beach.
Food is really good. We had a Flatbread, mussels and chicken dish. Service was great as well with food and wine being delivered in a very timely manner. Really nice wine list with decent bottles in the $70-$120 dollar range. My only comment to add on Call me Gaby is that the pricing though fair does not make since to me. A shareable flatbread can be expensive, upwards of 30$ and then there are nice protien dishes also very affordable in the 30$ range. Would love to see this place with a happy hour offering, and I will definitely be back!
Call Me Gaby was the perfect spot to kick off my new chapter in Miami! I came here for a welcome-to-Miami dinner with my partner, and everything—from the food to the atmosphere—was exceptional. The ambience is truly something special: warm, cozy, and beautifully designed down to every detail (even the bathroom is stunning!). It has that chic yet welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. Now the food… wow. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Here’s what we ordered: • Grilled Vegetable Platter – A simple yet perfect start. The veggies were charred just right and drizzled with high-quality olive oil. • Little Gem Salad – Light and refreshing with a mix of textures. The lemon anchovy vinaigrette pulled it all together. • GABY Pizza – This was a standout. Foie gras, fig jam, gorgonzola cream… it was indulgent, unique, and surprisingly well-balanced. • Gnocchi Pesto and Shrimps – Creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the pine nuts added the perfect crunch. As for the drinks: • The Rosolio was floral and bubbly with just the right amount of sweetness. • The Gaby Margarita had a bold kick from the jalapeño and mezcal—balanced, spicy, and super refreshing. Overall, it was the perfect evening. Great service, beautiful atmosphere, and incredible food + cocktails. I’ll absolutely be back—and highly recommend it for a special night out or a memorable Miami dining experience.
Went just my girlfriend and I for lunch. Beautiful patio, service was good and very fast (we were in a rush) food was GREAT. Lot of vegetarian options. We got the: Focaccia Watermelon Salad Burrata Tiramisu FIOCCHETTI ALLE PERE E TARTUFO I would and will order all of it again. I am fundamentally opposed to paying for bread at an Italian restaurant but the focaccia was very good and they give you a big portion. Looking forward to going back for dinner and trying more of the menu.
We had the best dinner here. Jose the server and Jose the busser were amazing and so nice. Outstanding staff, so welcoming, charismatic and hard working. 100% recommend!!
I had been dying to go here for years and finally got one. We went on a double date and I had booked indoors because Miami can be chilly January evenings but luckily we got moved outside because the vibe is unmatched (inside was basic). We got the meatballs, very good, and the cacio e Pepe pasta and Diavolo pizza. Both very good! The tiramisu for dessert was yummy too. Overall beautiful restaurant. Loved it.
Call Me Gaby? More like call me when I’m going a buck 50 down the I-95 in my m4 comp cruusing into the Miami sunset blasting up all night by drizzy bc this place is UNREAL!! When we pulled up there were about 4 gurus there, and when I sat down….5. The patio here is gorgeous and the servers here were flirting with my step mom but it all made for a good experience. I got the truffle pasta and the sauce in it was absolutely unreal. My guru girlfriend got the buratta pizza and she was actually not very impressed (she’s a guru what do you expect) If you’re a looking for a chill date spot with a Brickell 5 then this is where you need to be
Had dinner with a group from work. We sat outside by the road in a larger table as there were 6 of us. The vibe at the restaurant was amazing. Our server was on top of everything all night! Our food came out perfect and everything was cooked to perfection! We all said we will be going back at our next meeting to have dinner again.
What a charming cute place! Not only the restaurant has a beautiful decor….The food was amazing and the service even better! One of the best bolognese I’ve tried in Miami, real homemade from scratch which is hard to find. The veal Milanese was delicious as well. If you are looking for an authentic Italian, you should not miss this one! Thank you Call me Gaby, loved it. 😊
A very enjoyable restaurant with no disappointments. The terrace feels just like a charming patio, perfect for a relaxed evening. The food is tasty and generously served, with the touch of a true Italian chef. Service is warm and attentive, making the whole experience pleasant. The only point to note is that prices feel a bit high for what it is, but overall it’s a very good spot where you can have a great time.
Call Me Gaby is a vibe. Cozy, dog-friendly patio, killer Italian, perfect pasta, and that watermelon salad is a must. Great energy all around. Come hungry, leave happy. 🍝🍉🐶✨
Call Me Gaby is one of the most charming spots in South of Fifth. The atmosphere feels intimate and effortlessly elegant, the Italian cuisine is beautifully executed, and the service is warm yet refined. A perfect setting for executives, couples, and guests who appreciate privacy and understated luxury in Miami Beach. – Privyer Luxury Chauffeur Service
Outstanding restaurant! Fantastic food that is interesting but not weird. The ingredients are so fresh! The service is always there but never in your way. Lively fun atmosphere. Not stuffy. Casual, hip, vibrant!
Call me Gaby is a great Italian restaurant. It serves yummy pizza and pasta. The service was impecable. Our server which I can’t remember her name, was attentive, quick and very knowledgeable about the menu. Great dining experience. I highly recommend this place in the Miami Beach area. Kudos to management for running such a good restaurant. The evening was a smooth flow since we sat down until we got up. Very well trained servers and the kitchen was flawless. Every dish we ordered was very tasty and at the right temperature. Kudos to the chef and his team.
I recently visited Call Me Gabby in South Beach, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant has an amazing Miami vibe that’s both stylish and inviting. The drinks were excellent, and the food was exquisite. I tried the pasta (pictured) and absolutely loved it—I’ll definitely be back for more! The customer service was top-notch, with attentive managers ensuring everything went smoothly. I had a wonderful time with friends and highly recommend this spot. Can’t wait to return!
The signature pasta was the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Get the focaccia bread and dip it in the pasta sauce. Exquisite! The atmosphere was beautiful and service even better.
Went here for a work dinner with 20 people and the service and food were out of this world! The apps were delish. We had the burrata and the watermelon salad. Both were amazing and full of flavor. For dinner I had the margarita pizza, yum! Dessert was a mix of the nutella and flan. All courses were delish and full of favor.
This place is a MUST if you're ever in Miami Beach! We had the charcuterie platter and it blew us away. The bread was to die for. The meats and cheese superb. We also had the Asian Pear Salad, simply amazing. We ate at the bar and our servers was attentive and super friendly. Can't wait to go back.
Everything was spectacular, hands down one of the most incredible pasta dishes I’ve ever had. The patio is simply beautiful, everything was perfect. I ordered the fiocchetti...my husband had the cacio e pepe…both were to die for. Maybelline was also wonderful and took great care of us. Our drinks were delicious and I sadly don’t remember the name of them but I’m confident everything on the menu will be a home run. And the tiramisu was the perfect sweet ending to an exceptional meal. We’ll definitely plan to come back the next time we’re in Miami.
Whenever I’m in Miami, I stop here. The food, drinks, & ambiance are always fantastic. While the service can be hit or miss, this visit was exceptional—the best I’ve ever experienced so far. Despite the automatic 20% service charge, Carlos went above and beyond tonight, making my brother’s birthday dinner truly memorable.
We had an amazing dinner at Call Me Gaby during our Art Basel trip to Miami. The experience was amazing, the food, the atmosphere, the service was incredible. Then we experienced Celine. Celine was a runner for our table, but her energy, awareness and her joyful attitude made our experience magnificent. There are times you experience a level of service tied to a dedication to create something special for guests that transcends service and becomes something magical. That is what Celine provided for our group. The next time we return, we expect Celine to move up to server or even better, owner!! Thank you, Celine!
Amazing food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend. Raul completed the fantastic evening with an espresso! He was great.
Lovely bright summery atmosphere. Excellent service, excellent cocktails, and wonderful food! The foccacia was a perfect start, especially with the olive oil and yummy balsamic. Hangar steak was fantastic - cooked perfectly with delicious potatoes and cherry tomatoes. The pasta was unique and very tasty. All the dishes we saw looked great!
One of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a first date. The manager arranged a very romantic table for the two of us, even though I did not make a last-minute reservation! The service was impeccable, the food delicious, the music and overall atmosphere felt like you were in Europe for a day I would highly recommend as the perfect first date place or any other occasion, will be coming back again and again! Thank you!
Had an absolutely wonderful experience at 'Call Me Gabi' ! From the moment we walked in, everything was exceptional. The quality of the food is truly outstanding—fresh ingredients, authentic Italian flavors, and beautifully presented dishes that make every bite memorable. The service was impeccable: attentive, welcoming, and perfectly paced throughout the entire evening. What made the experience even more special was the incredible professionalism and hospitality of the General Manager, Ariel. Ariel goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels valued and taken care of, adding a personal touch that truly elevates the dining experience. It’s rare to find a restaurant where the food, service, and management all align at such a high level. Call Me Gabi delivers a fantastic Italian dining experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and exceptional hospitality, which is rare to find in Miami !
This is one of those places that truly feels like a neighborhood gem. As someone who lives nearby, I come here every chance I get and at least twice a month. It never disappoints. The ambiance is incredibly cozy and charming, with soft bossa nova music always playing in the background. It creates a relaxed and intimate atmosphere that instantly makes you feel comfortable, whether you are stopping by for a casual dinner or a special night out. The food is consistently exceptional. The Italian dishes are authentic, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. You can really feel the care and passion that goes into every plate. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who comes to Miami. If you are looking for amazing Italian food in a cute, cozy, and welcoming place, this is it.
Recomendado 100%.
Very very nice restaurant, service is 10/10, food was great only one little issue, and atmosphere was amazing. So for starters we got the cheese board which was out of this world. So many flavors in the food and all the different cheese options were amazing. Second we had the eggplant dish and holy it was so good. Third we had the watermelon salad, oh em gee you would not believe how great it was. Who would ever think cheese, pistachios, oil, & watermelon would go together. This restaurant did and they ATE with this. So for the mains we got the steak and chicken with mushrooms. So one problem here the steak was burnt with a lot salt. I wont hold this against them tho because it seemed this was an honest mistake and they offered to remake it. The service was incredible and this lady she was amazing. On top of everything and cared so much for how her customers felt. The atmosphere is so nice the plants are amazing. So overall great restaurant and would reccomend
I love the atmosphere at this restaurant. Food is amazing. I wish they had some gluten free pizza options. Also, the meatball is super spicy. I’ve never eaten spicy meatballs in Italy… But everything else is pretty good.
The food here is outrageously priced, and the portions are minuscule. The meatballs are the size of IKEA meatballs, the Cacio e Pepe they added truffles and Never asked me to add it especially since it was for my children which is quite disappointing. In my opinion, this is one of the most expensive restaurants in South Beach for the portion size it offers, and it’s not worth the price. See for yourself!
Updated: second time here with a better weather. The patio was lovely, great attention, food was DELICIOUS. It was very good, even though that isn’t my favorite style of pizza. Amazing bread and meatballs were fantastic. It was raining heavy that night, so we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor area, and the hosts were very stressed trying to accommodate everybody indoor. Our high table was unstable and not too comfortable, but fortunately, our server Oscar and his helper fixed, they were attentive and makes our night better.
Have been many times - both for lunch/brunch and dinner. Good food overall, but specials often remain the same so not as exciting as a local to look for new, just trusted favs. Service is so so, but do love the outdoor setting.
My wife is from Italy and I spend a lot of time in Italy… I will say it like it is: the pasta was excellent, pizza lacked flavor, muscles the sauce was watery, and service was basic. For 20% tip I expect a well trained staff, that level with London, St Barth, Dubai, Singapore, South of France, Lago Di como, Geneva, must I go on? The prices are way higher (40%) than these cities so service must be better than those cities. *an update to this review* I do love coming here often but the service has improved, the food comes out fast but traditionally when the pasta comes out the Parmesan cheese is supposed to come out at the same time not 5-10 min later. I just cannot accept as a local the south beach culture automatically charging 20% and I have to even ask one time for something that should be automatic. This is just the Miami culture… I love to pay the 20% tip if the service can be as perfect as automatically charging my tip.
Our waiter was incredible, the food was so tasty, and I loved the atmosphere. The only bad thing I can say is how manager Ariel treated his employees. It was uncomfortable watching how he spoke to everyone. It made my boyfriend and me feel so uncomfortable. Please improve the way you treat your employees, who also provide excellent service
We so wanted to love this restaurant. Sadly, we were disappointed. We booked a 7:30 reservation and arrived 10 minutes early. Understandably the table was not ready so we patiently waited at the bar for 30 minutes - and then were proceeded to be seated at a table (that had been empty since we arrived) adjacent to the bar where were waited on by the bartender. After much discussion regarding the menu with the bartender/waiter, we decided upon various complimentary items. Much to our surprise, they all arrived at once on a very tiny table so much so that when the items were “dropped off”, we had to find a place to put the lids on a nearby table. Although the food was delicious, it was barely lukewarm. Two of the items were served in black iron pots which were slightly warm, but the eggplant and mussels and meatballs were not. The food was actually delicious! It’s just too bad that we were seated at one of the worst tables, the food was not coursed out appropriately and the service was subpar. We will not be returning.
Cozy spot, very charming. Huge prices and very little to back it up - think Rao’s prices and 1/4 as good. A few grilled vegetables on appetizer menu - absolutely pathetic given price point. If you like overpriced mediocre (think KING of the mediocre) this place is absolutely for you.
I live in MB and pass by this establishment so many times. They have a beautiful patio space and I was in the area. I don’t have one particular issue with the entire experience. Is it a tourist trap? Ahh maybe.. The food is just (ok) definitely not worth the high prices they charge. They do not give you bread. They charge $7 for focaccia, which is not great. Literally around the corner you have Carbone that gives you an entire bread, basket / parmesan cheese and salami for free!!!! The cocktails $25 They automatically add the 20’% gratuity on the bill.
The outdoor seating in this restaurant is an authentic Italian garden with miami flavor And this place they used to serve the best pizza I’ve tasted in miami but not anymore The veal was oily and tasteless The focaccia was simply a good Italian bread without the cherry tomatoes and basil This place keeps raising the prices until it became an expensive restaurant The pizza was good but went up from $28 to $42 !!! and that gives the feeling that it is made at 5 stars restaurant the meatballs was really good The place is super nice and the service by Luis was little pushy and the waiter removed the plates while we still eating!!! We had dinner many times but our last experience at call me Gaby wasn’t great We will not comeback here for sure since it has been different from what we knew for years
Average Italian restaurant. Hostess was super nice and friendly. Waiting staff was non existent and did not check in on us during the mea. Focaccia and arancini are excellent but pasta dishes were subpar. Quality of past was doughy and sauces seemed like they were from a package. Skip this place.
Beautiful patio, lighting, and ambiance—but that’s where the positives end. Yes, it’s overpriced, and that’s expected. What’s unacceptable is leaving hungry. For three people, the cheese platter was a joke: one triangle of cheese, a few microscopic cubes, two thin slices, and three pecans. The burrata was barely two tablespoons. Pizza was fine. Wine at $70 a bottle—expected. We paid $320 and left still hungry. If you’re going to charge premium prices, serve actual food. This was simply not worth it.
Been a big fan of this place for years. Food is great. The issue I have is that I ordered my main course and they cut the portion size of the gnocchi so small i felt completely ripped off. The picture I have attached is my full portion. One of them a picture when I pulled it to the side I told the waiter and he said that the owner now weighs the food and that's what you get. When you order a main meal you expect the meal to be enough to fill me up. I ended up walking over to prime 112 for a real meal. My friend had the same problem. Sometimes portion control gets so out of hand the owner will not understand why repeat customs stop showing up. It's not about the money it's about value. I also ordered a coke but they ran out so I settled for a 250ml $10 sprite ($7 plus tax and auto tip)
My experience wasn’t what I expected. I was expecting for a table courtyard, that was what I booked on onetable. When I arrived, they left me waiting for a while, time that I saw many groups arriving and beeing accomodated. For some reason mine was the only table thay was delayed. When they finallly invited me to settle down, it was a table on a waitress passage inside, very noisy. It was impossible to keep a conversation. I saw couples that arrived after me accomodate on much betters table, including courtyard. I don’t know the reason, but the hostess is the one who decides how you will be accomodated, and for me they made a poor experience.
Went to Call Me Gaby’s for dinner tonight. While some people at our table were still eating, our waiter began clearing plates from those who had finished. We politely asked him to stop, as it felt inappropriate to remove plates before everyone was done. At the end of the meal, we requested the check and noticed a 20% service charge had been added. We specifically asked the waiter to adjust it to a 15% tip, which he verbally confirmed he would do. However, when he returned, our card had been charged for the original amount without any explanation. When we questioned it, he then told us the 20% was a mandatory service charge. This was disappointing and felt misleading. Transparency and respect go a long way in hospitality, and this interaction fell short of expectations. That said, the food itself was very tasty, which made the overall experience even more frustrating
Overall I would not recommend this spot. Over priced food that does not match the expected quality of food. The dishes were not good. They just looked nice for photos. The spot is just another over hyped spot in Miami Beach. There are much better spots for Italian with an authentic Italian taste.
Be very careful with the management at this restaurant. I parked my car in front of the place in a pay-to-park spot. After having dinner there, my friend and I decided to take a short 5-minute walk. Unfortunately, my parking expired — and just two minutes later, the restaurant called the cops and had my car towed. It was extremely disappointing to spend top dollar dining there, only to end up paying another $500 for a ticket and towing. I wish the management had shown more understanding and treated their customers with more respect and consideration.
Ambiance, music, service -- all great. Risotto w shrimp, delicious - and I'm not a risotto fan. However!!! - meatballs and eggplant WERE NOT HOT. Barely warm. That ruined it. The eggplant should be on a cast iron skillet and getting caramelized and piping hot! And the mussels, I question the freshness of the mussels because two of us got violently ill a few hours later and I think it was from that because they tasted and smelled fishy , and so did the broth . I only ate two because I realized it.
Dishonest Low Quality Service We visited Call me Gaby in Miami Beach tonight for dinner. We did not like the service at all. Food was ok. At some point during dinner, the waiter called an assistant to collect the plates. Some of us were still eating. We had to ask the waiter to stop. He just looked at us and moved away. We were quite upset. When the check came it already included a 20% tip. I told the waiter I did not agree with the 20% and asked him to lower it to 15%. He agreed, took my card and told me to wait. When he came back, the 20% had already been charged. I complained and was told it was not optional 😖
It's very expensive. As someone who travels extensively and resides in one of the most expensive states in the USA, I can attest that many things here are simply overpriced. The food isn't tasty; the pasta lacked flavor, and my friend's mussels were generally bitter and disgusting. While the cocktails were delicious, they were priced at $25 or more each, and a service charge was included in the check. Additionally, the waiter took 30 minutes to bring the menu and another 30 minutes to take our order; the service was terrible!
First time we came was 3 years ago, the focaccia and mussels were really impressive. Now the food just downgraded to 3 stars level. The mussels are so tiny, and the dough is not as chewy and tasty any more. The gnocchi is extremely overpriced, $42 with only 5 little shrimps. The service is also pretty bad. The waitress is not attentive to customers and they don’t provide olive oil for our focaccia until we already finish half. However, they automatically charge 20% service fee for lunch even with such horrible service. I am really disappointed at coming back again.
My girlfriend and I decided to have lunch at this restaurant. First of all, I want to say that the food was incredibly delicious. The seafood was very well prepared—tender and flavorful. In particular, the octopus was exceptionally soft and easy to chew, not rubbery at all, which is rare. The pizza had a very delicate texture, with a crispy crust on top, exactly as it should be. As for the service, unfortunately, it leaves much to be desired. The hostess was not welcoming and behaved rudely and condescendingly. We were served by a tall, dark-haired waiter—unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name. His service essentially ended after taking our order. We were seated under a tree, which was a very beautiful and romantic spot. However, when a heavy rain started, the tree offered no protection at all. Instead of doing his job, the waiter was busy chatting with the hostess and paid no attention to the dining area. When the rain began, he simply stood there looking at us and did nothing. After 2–3 minutes of this, I had to go inside myself to check if there was a free table so we could move. Only after that did he finally approach and offer help. I would like to positively note the server assistants—they did an excellent job. They refilled our water on time, and when they noticed that I needed to remove shells from my plate, they kindly brought a special container for that. In conclusion, the dishes are tasty and skillfully prepared, and in some aspects of the service I was very satisfied. However, the overall experience was spoiled by the attitude and behavior of certain staff members.
