Opinions de Casita Tejas Mexican Restaurant Miami
I came today with my family for early dinner, they have the best chips and salsa we’ve ever had in a Mexican restaurant, all the food we ordered was so yummy I ordered the enchiladas suizas and really enjoyed them, our server was great too really attentive!! Looking forward to return.
Absolutely wonderful! We had our rehearsal dinner here & couldn’t believe our eyes when we came in to the beautifully decorated tables & signs welcoming us and our guests. The food was amazing as always, but the service & attention to detail blew us all away. It was an amazing start to our wedding weekend & we couldn’t have chosen a more perfect restaurant to host the dinner. Thank you to all the staff & especially Jenina for going above and beyond to make it so memorable. You all are the best!! We will be back for a delicious meal soon. This place is worth the 1.5 hour drive :)
Everything about this place was amazing, from the food, to the customer service, to the cleanliness of the restaurant itself. We were told to sit anywhere we felt comfortable, and our waitress immediately gave us menus and drinks. Food came out in about 10 minutes and everything was delicious and fresh! Our waitress was very attentive and made sure we were happy and satisfied with our meals. Definitely will be back soon, I can see myself making this a regular restaurant for my family and I to go to for authentic Mexican food! Run here, don’t walk!
My buddy took me here for dinner. We were told to sit anywhere. Our waiter immediately gave us menus and drinks. Food came out in about 10 minutes and everything was delicious and fresh! Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we were happy and satisfied with our meals. Definitely will be back soon.
My husband is a big fan of Mexican food, I personally haven’t found a place that conquers me 😂but honestly this place got me for real. Let me start saying the customer service. They were excellent, all of them so so so kind. The food was awesome. Prices were great. I felt so good that I needed to share this with y’all. 100% recommended.
Super friendly staff, very, very casual place, food was deelish 🥰our go to place when we are in the area ♥️
We were greeted immediately and seated with no wait time. My family started with cheese dip which was made of actual cheese. The waiter was friendly and happy to answer any questions. I got the Guadalajara plate which came on two plates, so I could try a lot of food in one visit. You won’t be disappointed with the tamales, chili rellenos, rice and beans. I bit myself twice, this food was so good! The scenery was great and had beautiful Mexican art.
Passing through and in the mood for tacos! I ordered three a la carte - pastor, carnitas, & bistec. They were all so flavorful. The pastor has grilled pineapple, and the bistec was incredibly juicy. Our waiter was attentive and refilled our complimentary chips & salsa. Oh, ask for spicy salsas!
I WAS DOIN DAMAGE HERE, Tore it up! Been coming here since 1990.... Never ever disappointed... My favorite Mexican Restaurant and it will be yours too! This plate right here is called Shrimp a la Mexicana - big juicy shrimp, cooked in onions, tomatoes and jalapeños (optional), tasty, fluffy yellow rice and a choice of beans (refried or traditional beans in sauce, almost like a soup-delish, sorry I forgot the name, but ask anyone there). You also get corn or flour tortillas. End it all with their house Flan-thick, very rich and cheesecake like...🤪🤪🤪 Shout out to Cesar and the Berrones Family ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had an excellent experience at Casita de Texas. Our waiter, Víctor, was extremely attentive, kind, and very quick with the service. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome and ensured everything was perfect throughout our visit. He explained the menu patiently and was always available when we needed something, without being intrusive. Thank you, Víctor, for your great attitude and professionalism! We’ll definitely be coming back.
It was my first time going there with my family. The employees were super nice. The food was amazing big portions but delicious. My daughter ordered the kids bean and rice burrito (they ask chicken or beef)…I think they mistakend the order because it was all separate and the tortilla had cheese and there was a lot but she ate most of it I guess make sure you say KIDS.. the food was excellent and everyone was super nice ..They had Mexican decor and music not too loud just perfect too talk to ur family and friends..this place deserves 5 stars ✨ sorry forgot to take pictures because I was enjoying the food👋🏻
Try their whole fried red snapper. It is delicious 😋.
Consistently one of the best restaurants I've been to. There food is always fresh. Service is always great. Very home feel. I love all the food but my staple is the fajitas. They have a very distinct marinade for the steak. You will not be disappointed.
Great food! I recommend the Steak Burrito Norteno it is delicious. Great atmosphere and amazing service and staff. Definitely worth the drive.
Great food and flavors. I loved the salsa and hot sauce. The rice and refried beans were on point. Don't skip out on the churros for desert because they were fantastic!
Great food! Fast service! Our server was very helpful with vegetarian options. Would definitely come back next time we are in the area!
Staff was super kind and the food was delicious 😋
Great customer service by Victor and delicious food right across from winter ❄️ Wonderland. Losner park.
I went here to meet friends that come here often. Parking was easy and the inside was so much bigger that it looked from the outside. Very clean and modern looking. Service was friendly and always available. Chips water and salsa were bought right away to our table. The food was good with good size portions and very reasonably priced. I will absolutely return.
Always the best freshest and tastiest food. We had the nachos with grilled steak and tacos al pastor..coldest beers too! The flavors are fresh and delicious.
Friendly service, tasty food! Our server Victor was helpful, but I was a little bummed out that my Fajitas didn’t come out sizzling, and they wouldn't do anything to rectify that. Sizzling, smoking presentation is a big part of the appeal of this dish. I will say it was hot and tasty. Been here before when I was attending a concert at Seminole Theater across the street and will keep coming back just maybe clarify the sizzling part lol. In their defense, it was busy because of an event across the street at Seminole Theater, but still feel they could've done something to rectify. Despite this, still recommend!
Wonderful food and amazing people. We try to stop when in Homestead and enjoy everything. Try their jalapeno margarita!
Man oh Man this place rocks!!!!! The people are lovely, the food is AWESOME and we just fell in love with this place. We come here everytime we either drive down to the Keys or back up to Miami. It is SO worth going! This place is one of my favorite restaurants! The flavours, I wish we d knew how to cook exactly that way!
The building is part of the old Homestead town center. The original historic Town Hall is next door. The old building, repurposed as a Mexican restaurant lends a timelessness to the atmosphere that only adds to your experience. Though the name "Casita Tejas" sounds like you're getting TexMex, I feel the menu is more authentic Mexican. At least our tacos and chili relleno were authentic Mexican. Both were generous and flavorful. The Casita Tejas cooks pulled off a neat trick with the chili relleno: with all the shredded beef, cheese and fried egg batter that make up a chili relleno, I could easily taste the poblano chili in almost every bite! UPDATE 2024 - Casita Tejas still has the mojo. This time I enjoyed Enchiladas Mole. I'll certainly be back when I get down this way again. BTW, if any review here helps you decide either way, please give the writer a thumbs up. Thank you!
Excellent Mexican food ! Large portions and too much for us Europeans … Very attentive service
Update: We had the fried ice cream and my husband has declared it his new favorite desert. We just love it here. Their salsa is fresh and delicious and I love my tacos every time. It's still one of the best. Been eating here forever, they sponsor some community events, the staff is nice and I have yet to be let down by my food. It's a nice, casual place, nothing fancy, with great food.
it may be almost a decade since I've eaten at this restaurant. This was, yet again, a most excellent experience. I had the Portobello veggie fajitas and Jerry had the grouper tacos. Side accompaniments on the fajitas included refried beans guacamole sour cream and salsa. Side accompaniment with the group or tacos included rice and veggies and french fries. The salsa is fresh by prepared mild which is nice because as we're aging we're finding some of the spicy foods hard and handle.
Casita is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Miami-Dade County. Many favorite menu items include fajitas, El Zarape, enchiladas Suissas, and shrimp tacos. The ingredients are fresh, and the service impeccable. Free parking easy to find. Perfect place to go before or after the awesome Seminole Theatre. (By the way, they speak perfect English)
Service and food top noche! Excellent taste and service. All the staff did a great job. Vary attentive and vary nice staff.
My friend from work recommended this place. Everything there is delicious 😋 I ordered the steak & rice & the steak is very juicy with flavor. I made everyone at the table try it & the ladies loved it! The dessert was fried vanilla ice cream with loads of whipped topping. Y'all gotta try this creamy sweet treat! The customer service is superb & the meals came out within 10 mins. O we're definitely coming back soon! Thank you for the amazing food & wonderful customer service!
We found this restaurant a couple of years ago and it is now our go-to Mexican spot. I like the Burrito Norteño and my wife gets the Chilli Relleno. Both are excellent. The burrito with steak has a very unique flavor and is delicious. Someone reviewer posted a picture of a couple of enchiladas but titled it Burrito Norteño. So don't go by the picture. Our server, Margarite was super and very attentive. I tried the Chili Rellenos and it was awesome.
My last night in Homestead after spending three days exploring the local National Parks. Using my personalized algorithm for finding places to eat in new cities, I deduced that I should come here. A nice little American Mexican restaurant near the main downtown area. After luckily stumbling upon a parking spot, I wandered in and got a seat. I ordered way too much food. Startedd off with the Mexican Bullets (jalapeno pepper roasted with your choice of tasty chicken, beef and cheese covered with ranchera sauce and Monterey jack). Very good, like an upgraded chili relleno, get this. Super Nachos (tortilla chips topped with refried beans and ground beef, shredded beef or chicken, topped with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno, and sour cream). Also very good. The topping distribution was on point, the most important part of any nacho dish. Quesadilla Villa (two large grilled flour tortilla filled with melted Monterey jack cheese, shredded or ground beef or chicken, served with lettuce and with sour cream). I would skip this. Don't get me wrong, it was a perfectly fine quesadilla, but it was boring compared to everything else. And the main event, the Guadalajara Platter (Mexican crispy cheese chile relleno, a tamal, a chicken enchilada, beef tostada and a beef taco). Sooo good. I love sampler platters. Solid relleno, not-dry tamal, a cheesy enchilada, a crispy tostada, and a taco. I finished up with an amazing. Quatro Leches (delicious pound cake saturated with a milk mixture, topped with caramel). Tres leches is my favorite dessert of all time. I couldn't figure out what the fourth milk was, but I'm sure it was in there somewhere. So soft and moist, this was the best part of the whole meal, no lie. Overall, this place is a five start representation of everything you would want in an American Mexican restaurant. I would absolutely come here again.
If you're craving some Mexican food, you've got to try this place out! The food is delicious, and they're always consistent. I make sure to go at least once a month to get my favorite entrée, the Chipotle Burrito. And the free chips and salsa are always a bonus. The staff is super friendly too!
We are from Italy and Scotland, and we were on vacation in the Everglades National Park. Luckily for us we found the best restaurant around. We went back all 3 nights of our trip. Go here, you won’t regret it. I wish we had this restaurant back home I miss it!! Gracias Casita Tejas. The best!
Service was super friendly and attentive. Free chips and salsa. Food was delicious. We came around 6 on a Saturday night and there was plenty of seating available. Seemed to be frequented by lots of locals. The spinach enchiladas were delicious.
I used to go to this restaurant from 2001 - 2010. I live in Toronto, Canada now. Gosh I remember how great the food was here. The prices were great. The atmosphere was astounding. Free chips and salsa! We don't get that here. Much simpler times. I really love the food at Casita Tejas. And the people were so awesome! Much love :)
Been going to Casita since I moved here from NY in the 90s. The tortilla chips alone are worth buying (and eating…) in bulk. I can’t choose which menu item to try because they’re all pretty dang good … sooo take your pick.
I came in with Family and my man Victor the server was such a great guy. I recommend this place 11 out of 10 The food was amazing. The drinks were great and we are on our way home. Thanks to his service very much appreciate.
We recently had our office Christmas party at Casita Tejas and could not have had a better experience. The food and service is always great, but they went above and beyond for us. Unknowingly, our table was decorated and we had the red carpet rolled out. This small local business is a shining star in Homestead!! Thank you guys so much!!
Nice restaurant for some authentic Mexican food. My wife & I both had Chile rellanos.I had the shredded beef & my wife had the ground beef. They were fabulous. We only ordered a la carte as we weren't too hungry. These hit the spot with the chips & salsa. Definitely will stop again.
The staff was very friendly. We got there when it was really busy and waited a ling time for our food but it was worth the wait. The burrito was delicious and the portion was large. I'd definitely go back!
Deliciosa autentica Mexican food!
Delicioso. Muy buena comida en un ambiente folclórico. Por mejorar la poca variedad de postres, solo tienen 2
Good place. You will get a classic mex platter style dinner. A wide ranging menu. The fish tacos were good. Nicely grilled, and served very simply. The chile relleno was respectable. Not trying to be a fancy thing. The fries were quite good. Crispy and fresh. The margaritas were large and tasty. Nice and limey. The service was good, they understood the menu and can make recommendations. Lots of repeat cuatomers as they knew their usual orders. The churros are a treat crispy and nice chocolate sauce.
Don’t miss this incredible Mexican restaurant! We have been coming to Casita Tejas for years. They serve up consistently great food. We ordered the Fajita, El Zarape, Burrito Norteño, and the Green Enchiladas. The Burrito Norteño is a delicious stuffed beef, rice, lettuce and tomato burrito with a green like sauce drenched in top. El Zarape was a cut chicken and steak plate smothered with cheese and served with beans and rice. Come check these out for yourselves.
Here's a rewritten version: The Mexican food here is authentic and delicious. The restaurant itself is simple, clean, and welcoming. The staff provided good service and spoke English fluently. Entrees averaged around $15.00 each. While the dishes were fairly typical, they were well-prepared and satisfying. All in all, it was a pleasant dining experience.
Casita Tejas Mexican Restaurant in Homestead is a charming, family-friendly spot with a long history, having opened its doors in 1987. The ambiance is welcoming and cozy, making it a great choice for a casual dinner. The service is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. The food itself is tasty, with a flavorful salsa that stands out. However, the vegetarian options are somewhat limited, which may be a downside for those seeking more variety in plant-based dishes. Free parking is available, which is always a plus in this area. Overall, Casita Tejas is a solid choice for a casual, family-oriented Mexican dining experience, especially if you’re in the mood for classic flavors and good service.
Wow it's loud! Nevertheless the food was outstanding, ordered the steak with onions tomatoes and peppers on top. The top round was perfectly marinated, seasoned, tender and delicious. The toppings on the steak were seasoned and fresh. Service was honest, sincere, and I wasn't going to order dessert but the recommendation from the server was so tight I had to get the flan. It was delicious home made brilliant caramel flavors and silky smooth. Y'all killing on Krome! Thank you
A very nice Mexican restaurant. The menu had many, many options. The food was good, the service was great. I'd return.
Service was great. Tacos were great. Chips and salsa terrific. The tamales tasted like they've been frozen and reheated.
Good Mexican food, downtown Homestead. Not fancy, just good place to have a taco, had the chile relleno, not the best I ever had but good enough to mention 😀
Everything was top notch. Got a shredded chicken burrito, it was delicious. My husband got tacos al pastor and that was great too. Service was good and prices are very fair for the amount of food you get, plus you get free chips and pico de gallo. Edit: Don't get the queso. Awful. Was expecting the type of queso I'm used to getting at other mexican restaurants, smooth and runny. Their queso is essentially microwaved shredded cheese mixed in with their enchilada red sauce. I could tell it was microwaved because there was burnt shredded cheese around the bowl they served it in. The cheese was extremely thick and would not mix well and became a solid mass in 5 minutes sitting on the table. Just gross. Nobody at the table would eat it.
Come here for lunch every other week and the service is always great. The past couple times I’ve been waited on by Margarita and she is always friendly. I like the variety of food but for my taste it tends to be on the bland side. I’ve had the taco salad, taco, burrito and enchiladas but it’s ok I’m my opinion.
It was just an okay experience. Some food was pretty good, other food was bad. My wife eats tamales all the time and she said this was the worst tamale she’d ever eaten. My chimichanga was good; the shredded beef was flavorful, tender and moist. The chips and salsa were good. The rice was super dry and bland, and the beans were bland as well. Probably wouldn’t go back given the fact there are lots of Mexican food options to choose from.
We were in the area for one night and decided to give this place a try. We did get there close to closing, so I believe our experience could have been affected by that. Overall, the staff was very kind and helpful. I ordered the portabella veggie fajita and my partner ordered a burrito. We ordered a queso fondue dip, expecting it to be a smooth, clean dip, but we had to fight to break the cheese clumps onto the chip, because it was not quite dip consistency. We both ordered frozen mango margaritas. The menu says they use wine based alcohol instead of tequila. My expectations were tequila, which affected my perception of the drink. It tasted ok, but I wouldn't order it again. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely give it another try, but we would make sure we come earlier in the day to see if the timing made all the difference. Lastly, they have a large parking lot to accommodate all guests.
Chips are good. Don’t get the Baja taco. $24 and basically all breading
By far the worst service and queso I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant. Had to ask for water and chips and salsa and their queso fundido is just melted shredded cheese you can buy at the grocery store, it was disgusting.
The food is nothing like it used to be, and the service is terrible; everyone there is new and doesn't know what they're doing. It's a shame; it used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.
Unfortunately, this was a very unpleasant experience due entirely to the waitress’s attitude. When we greeted her with a polite “good afternoon,” she responded with a cold “ok” and walked away without any acknowledgment or basic courtesy—no smile, no eye contact, nothing. When we later asked about the menu, her demeanor was dismissive and unhelpful. She seemed annoyed to be asked questions and made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than customers. Her attitude completely ruined the atmosphere and overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable visit. Good service starts with basic kindness and professionalism, and sadly, that was completely missing here.
Lack of organization, service and food quality for large groups. The waitress took each person's order to come back asking who ordered what. Dishes came out late, wrong choices and then the filling of beef was just gristle. Could not eat it. To top it off, the check never came for my share. I told the cashier what they brought me and I paid. Not worth a second try.
These guys are a bunch of thieves. Prices listed on Google are almost half the price of what they produce on the menu. Not even a salsa is served with the tacos. Barely any sauce. And totally flavorless. 2 basic meals came to almost 50 dollars and the guy at the counter tried to over charge on top of it!! Funny how the "owner" decided to respond below and continue the lying! When I asked chief quimby at the counter about salsa included they said chips and salsa are "extra" ! And you have a full listed menu on Google and responding immediately to customers yet you can't update your digital menu? The items we purchased were well over 20 dollars and the menu states 12 to 14 dollars. How do you take online orders? Or do you scam online customers too? I had to ask your counter guy to produce a receipt of items for me as he tried to not give me a receipt just to try and over charge me even more than the crap you are charging! I suppose he thought I was a tourist. And no we are not mistaken. This is the exact restaurant we showed up in! Total trap scammers. Will report to Google.
I would give this place zero is possible. The staff were rude (common theme) and the manager HORRIBLE. Fish is not fresh. I asked to have spinach as the base to my salad, and the manger tried to tell me no. There is spinach on the menu and in other salads and he told me no! Finally he allowed it for a surcharge of $3. The food was mediocre( especially for price) ,the service horrible, and the manger should be fired. I will never come here again, and hope it helps people from coming here. I don’t know how this place is in business. BEWARE We got the quesadilla, tacos, and taco salad. Rice was bland, tortillas were doughy, and meat was fine. Not good but not bad. As you can see, there was maybe a single cup of spinach. Just ridiculous
One of the worst Chimichangas Ive ever had. No flavor or seasoning to mea and Small. Small serving of sour cream , lettuce and tomato and large serving of the typical horrid spanish rice and refried beans which looked like it had been through a blender , 1 bite of both enough.. 18.00 bucks plus tax before tip Tourist trap
The food is absolutely disgusting. This is more like Mexican out of a can. Definitely will not be coming back to this place. Thought it would be a nice place to eat since it seemed to be pretty full with customers.
We came here due to the good reviews and left disappointed. The service was very poor with it taking 15 minutes to get chips and salsa. We then ordered our food with Guac and Queso as appetizers. Our food came out before our appetizers and was not authentic Mexican. It took multiple trips to get the food and much was forgotten (tortillas, chips with the dips) While it tasted ok and wasn’t “bad”, it was very Americanized Mexican and looked to be what I could make at home. We then asked for the check and waited 15 more minutes with no service at all. This also felt overpriced, I wasn’t as concerned about the price. It was however noticeably more expensive than other Mexican restaurants. Disappointed and feel the reviews don’t truly reflect the reality here
