We're Hometown Barbecue, where the heart of America meets the soul of Miami. We're passionate about serving up authentic barbecue that's as tender as our warm hospitality. From the moment you step in, you'll be enveloped by the irresistible aroma of slow-smoked meats and the cozy atmosphere we've carefully crafted. Our brisket is a fan favorite, with a juicy tenderness balanced by just the right amount of smoky flavor. And don't even get us started on our pork ribs – they're a game-changer. We can't wait to share it all with you.

Really great BBQ spot! The food was super flavorful, smoky, and cooked just right. The meat was tender and juicy, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. Friendly service and a relaxed vibe. Definitely a place I’d come back to anytime. My recommendation: Brisket, Chicken! And Ribs

Hometown Bar-B-Que is the real deal. The food is genuinely good in every location I’ve visited, and this Miami outpost absolutely lives up to the name. What makes the Allapattah spot special, though, is the vibe — relaxed and full of character in an authentic way. Great barbecue, great energy, and a place that’s just as easy to hang out in as it is to eat. Definitely worth the visit.

If you are a carnivore but also like home style food this is the place in Miami. It is in an area that you normally wouldn’t go but dont let this stop you. Berf Rib is the best, the pulled pork and chicken cant be beaten. And the broccoli is a side dish you have to order if you like broccoli. I couldn’t taste anything that wasn’t just great and delicious. Also the place stays open all day. Eat here and get your protein right!

Being from Texas, I know good BBQ, and this place did not disappoint! The brisket was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. The beans were my favorite—every single bite was delicious. The mac and cheese was just okay, but the cornbread was absolutely delicious. On top of great food, the staff was very friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better.

Absolutely phenomenal BBQ! The brisket is tender and smoky with that perfect bark, the wings are juicy and flavorful, and the elote (street corn) with cotija and chili is a must-order. Even the cornbread is buttery and moist. The vibe is relaxed and rustic — communal tables, wood smoke in the air, great service, and cold beer. A true gem for barbecue lovers in Miami.

Hometown Barbecue is hands down one of the best dining experiences in Miami. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, casual, and welcoming — the kind of place that feels both lively and comfortable at the same time. The food is absolutely incredible. The brisket is melt-in-your-mouth tender with just the right amount of smoky flavor, the ribs fall right off the bone, and the pulled pork is juicy and perfectly seasoned. Their sides deserve just as much praise — the mac and cheese is creamy and rich, the cornbread is spot-on, and the pickled veggies add the perfect balance to all the smoky goodness. Portions are generous, and everything tastes like it was made with real care. On top of that, the service is consistently excellent. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick to make great recommendations. You can tell they take pride in making sure every guest has a great time. Whether you’re coming for a casual dinner, a night out with friends, or even just to grab a plate of authentic barbecue, Hometown Barbecue delivers every single time. It’s the perfect mix of amazing food, great atmosphere, and genuine hospitality. Easily a 5-star spot and a must-visit in Miami!

Hidden BBQ gem in Miami! I went here for my birthday because i love BBQ! The only thing I would recommend is to have more “cool” or music atmosphere outside in their terrace! Jt has potential!

If you’re a true BBQ lover, Hometown is a must-visit. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming. Everything we tried was delicious, one of my favorites was the brisket, it was incredibly tender. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich. Service was friendly and quick and the staff was very professional and friendly. They accommodated our party of 8 inside the restaurant since it was about 92 degrees outside. Highly recommend them for lunch or dinner.

Hometown Barbecue! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of smoked meats set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic meal. The brisket was absolutely delicious—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, especially when paired with their homemade barbecue sauce. The pulled pork was equally impressive, bursting with smoky goodness in every bite. A highlight of our visit was the complementary cornbread—warm, moist, and perfectly drizzled with honey and sprinkled with salt chunks. It was an unexpectedly perfect balance of sweet and savory that made a lasting impression. To wash it all down, we had their sweetened tea and a refreshing mineral water, which paired well with the richness of the meats. One of the friendly staff members mentioned they also have a location in Brooklyn, which I’ll definitely be checking out next. All in all, Hometown Barbecue delivered on flavor, hospitality, and atmosphere. Highly recommend for any barbecue lover!

I had the brisket and beef rib which I haven’t stopped thinking about since I left. The potato salad wasn’t for me only because I like potato chunks. Overall, food and service were good. Prob best bbq I’ve had in Miami.

Chill, local, down to earth authentic barbecue joint. Lots of outdoor seating. Just darn good eatin’! Reasonable prices. My new fave spot in Miami!

Amazing experience all around. Service was on point, the food is fresh and hot, my mouth was in flavortown. Brisket moist and tasty. Smoked wings crispy outside, hot and juicy inside. I got the Oxacan chicken to go! It looks amazing!

I actually think it's the best BBQ in Miami. Their well-prepared, flavorful grills give it an excellent touch of taste. Highly recommended.

I was initially skeptical about the location, but once I decided to enter, I was pleasantly surprised. The employee immediately made me feel welcome. We sat at the bar and chose some beers to drink, although there was also a full selection of cocktails and wine available. Shortly after, we ordered nachos and a brisket melt, both of which were very good. Later, we decided to try a bit of everything: brisket, wings, ribs, beans, and cornbread. Everything was delicious, and the beans and cornbread were exceptional. The service was friendly and attentive, and the place featured outdoor seating as well. It was very clean and well-maintained.

As they say, when there’s smoke there’s flavor, and man this place is smokey. The brisket will make you feel things you didn’t know possible in Miami. Off the charts food with good service and easy parking. Do it.

Holy hell this place is delicious! Tasty brisket is hard to do. Usually the crust isn’t right or it’s just too dry. But the brisket here is seriously perfect. This is probably the best bbq brisket I’ve ever had, it’s toe to toe with famous bbq spots in Texas. Didn’t need any sauce at all (but their sauce IS delicious!) because the seasoning and the cook are perfect. Their charred broccoli was also phenomenal! The mustardy notes in their house cole slaw were phenomenal and the Mac & cheese was also good. Loved every bite and looking forward to making the drive out here to try more of the menu in the future.

Low-key, super casual bbq. Their brisket and ribs are to die for. And the Key Lime pie ain't bad either. You order at the counter, but friendly servers do a good job of keeping your drinks full, they not only serve beer, but feature a full bar

AnotherMichelin Guide place we had to visit and it did not disappoint! Frito pie was amazing and obviously can’t go wrong with the brisket. I love corn bread but I’ve had better. Mac and cheese was really good. They have a great selection of beer. Service was great and they have free parking. 10/10

This is the BEST barbecue I’ve ever had. It’s about an hour from me, but I’ll definitely be making the trip often. The pulled pork is so moist and just sitting in its own juices. It’s hard to describe the flavor, I’ve never had pulled pork so tender. I got the frito pie with the brisket queso which was also to die for. The macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and beer were also great. Hiiiiighly recommend coming here!

This was one of the best brisket sandwiches I've ever had. Great soft toasted bun that never got soggy. Excellent flavor to the brisket. Just the right amount of a portion. Will definitely return

Come for the bbq, stay for the hospitality! We hosted a large group and had a BLAST! The cocktails, the service, and the food just keep getting better here. They have incredible happy hours deals that we will be coming back for !!

Everything on this plate was great , with confidence I can say this is some of the best BBQ I've had in miami. Top 5 in my mind. It's pretty rare to find authentic smoked BBQ in South Florida, you typically see cookie cutter spots like sonny's or shorty's where there are no unique qualities or any worthy dishes in my eyes. This place is pretty unique, truly worth checking out if you want some great authentic Texas style BBQ.

A
Anderson Mayfield

This place near the med school served up the best BBQ beef rib (think Flintstones) I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to 5-10 of the top BBQ spots in central Texas. Their smoked wings, brisket queso, and Asian-inspired rib tips were all excellent, as well. The sides didnt wow me, and the brisket was very very good, though not the best in the city. I know, I’m splitting hairs. I’m knocking it a star for the sides and the mega high prices; I know bbq isn’t poor man’s food anymore, but two of us dropped $200...and we went at happy hour! Still, it’s as close to Texas as you can get in Miami, and I will relish any chance to go back for the epic beef rib alone. Not only was it the best I’ve had, it was literally double the meat as ones I’ve had in Texas for a similar price! So while steep overall, it’s probably similar in price to TX places in all fairness. 2023 update: the sides have greatly improved, and I realize I have given far inferior places five stars in the interim, so I’m bumping mine up to five. I had leftovers from someone else that were two hours old, and it was still incredible (brisket with Mac and cheese and spicy corn).

Only been in two bbq Joints in South Florida. One is called shivers which is at the Homestead and other one is this. So I can only compare hometown barbecue with the shivers. The quality of the meat is good. We ordered a pound of beef ribs which is cooked for 12 hours it was really juicy and fatty. We also ordered a half a pound of brisket also juicy we had one order of corn bread delicious. We also added the smoked chicken wings six pieces. The waitress recommended that we don’t over order but because the meat comes out very quick we can always add more to our order. The staff was friendly and generous with information. The charge came around $90 which is more expensive than shivers but is closer. I still want to go to Shiva is more than this place, but I enjoyed the experience and the food. I also like the side of the place it seems that you were in the meatpacking factor I guess and I think that was the theme which was different. Parking is available.

I’ve driven by a few times and had no idea this was a restaurant, until I saw a few people walking in and decided to look them up. I’m so glad I did. I placed a delivery order and everything came just perfect. If you are in the mood for some authentic barbque food this is your place. We order different items to try and wow EVERYTHING was so delicious. I can’t say one was better than the other because they were all so delicious. Next time I will definitely be going in to eat at the restaurant. And yes I would recommend this place to anyone.

So good! The food is amazing, my picky parent enjoys the yuca bites. BBQ with a Latin flare. I love the banana pudding, it’s so rich and presentation is beautiful. The half chicken is alway moist and flavorful. All around fantastic.

WOW!! Insanely good BBQ. Very cool industrial chic atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and there is plenty of spaced out seating inside and out. Everything about this experience was *chefs kiss*. The smoky wings are a MUST. The most flavorful chicken and dry rub. I also had the pulled pork sandwich...to die for. The cornbread was so good, too. Sweet and salty.

Delicious bbq, relaxed atmosphere and great drinks. The brisket sandwich was the best. The sausage was homemade and the cole slaw was crunchy and very fresh.

J

Family members stopped in and ordered ribs and 2 brisket tacos. They enjoyed their entrees. They brought back 4 ribs and a queso brisket sauce with tortilla chips. All tasted great and I look forward to visiting this place when I’m in the area

B

By far, the best barbecue spot in all Florida. The staff is super chill and the food is amazing. A bit pricy but it’s so worth it. The theme it’s pretty cool, got me feeling like I’m about to go to a rodeo. They have a nice selection of drafts. I don’t know if they make their barbecue sauce in house but it’s bussin. 10/10 you have to visit this place. Once your done you can walk it out by going to the Rubell art museum across the street.

This place is for real. They do the little things right. The food was delicious. Brisket, Chicken wings. Mac and cheese was crazy good. That cornbread took some skill to make it was so good. We will be back.

D
Dale McConkey

This is the best bbq in Florida and probably some of the best bbq I've honestly had in years! Unbelievable. Even the corn bread was amazing! The best was definitely the thick slab of pastrami but everything here was the ideal dictionary definition of BBQ. I'm pretty sure you could turn a vegan into a carnivore here.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Down home southern BBQ in a former industrial locale in Allapatah. Located in a former produce distribution warehouse. The food here is fantastic. The drink menu is diverse enough for any pallet; cocktails, wine and beer allow all to celebrate. The food is delectable and delicious. The corn bread, well Sh*t, I couldn't even put it into words to you. In Brooklyn, they call the corn bread crack... Put that into perspective. Hometown, keeps true to the recipes seen in Red Hook Brooklyn. Honestly, look to this area as the next "it" spot. Close to transit, awesome staff. I could go on. My new favorite spot in Miami honestly. A fantastic experience. I'll be back!

Really amazing BBQ place. It's kinda hidden in an area where you wouldn't expect a restaurant to be. The place itself is very simple and looks like a warehouse which adds to it's attractiveness and style. Service is good and they have a nice bar with cocktail drinks and a nice craft beer menu. Don't expect a candlelight dinner, but it has amazing express food service perfect for an in and out but delightful experience. Menu is somewhat limited but food is off the wall with delicious homemade BBQ sauce. Recommended for groups and very hungry people. Don't waive the banana pudding, best I've had.

Fantastic experience at this BBQ restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, with tender ribs and perfectly smoked brisket. The manager, Hector, was the best— he made sure service was excellent throughout the meal. Can’t recommend both the food and the service enough!

This smoked BBQ is at the TOP of my list. The beef ribs and brisket are the best I’ve had, ever. And for those funny people reading this, I’ve had plenty of BBQ in my lifetime! You shouldn’t leave without trying the Jerk Bacon Slab, Mac and Cheese, or the CORNBREAD!!! You’ll need to come back for seconds and thirds.

When in Miami this place is always on my list to visit. The food is amazing and the options available literally cater for every taste. For me, the brisket is a solid choice, as is the ribs, wings, turkey and everything else. Tonight there was 4 of us so we ordered a selection of food to share and that was a good call. This place is highly recommended.

Meat is always tender and tasty. All of their sides are good. We had the 1/2 pound brisket, elote corn, watermelon salad, Korean ribs, mac n cheese, brisket taco and cornbread. Everything was fresh and a good balance of flavors. Also, kitchen is fast so it’s a good spot for lunch.

L

this place was so delicious!!! the brisket was cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth, the mac n cheese was extremely cheesy, the ribs fell off the bone and the corn bread was a perfect balance of sweet and salty with the flaky salt that is sprinkled on top. overall the food was amazing the vibes were great and the service was incredible!!! hector was really nice and helpful. he explained the menu to us letting us know how everything worked, very kind and eager to check in on our dining experience! don’t skip out on the key lime custard so yummy and citrusy! 10/10 experience!

Whew what a place. We drove past this place by chance and checked it out because the place is very unassuming. Barely any advertising so it’s very easy to miss. The staff is amazing. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is so nice and pleasant. We live in Pembroke Pines and have no issues with making more trips to visit. I typically visit a few times before leaving a review unless it’s undeniable of a positive or negative experience. And this is a very good experience. I hate rating the food b because taste is very subjective. But I’d order any of these items any time I come back! -Mole wings -Fully loaded tots -Elote -Brisket -Smash burger -Tips

If you’re looking for solid, no frills barbecue in Miami, Hometown Barbecue is the spot. Tucked away in Allapattah, this place has a laid-back, rustic vibe that feels more like a hidden gem than a touristy BBQ joint. The focus here is simple: good smoked meats, done right. The brisket is the star of the show, tender, smoky, and full of flavor. It has that perfect bark on the outside while staying juicy inside. The ribs are another must try, falling right off the bone with just the right amount of char. If you’re into something a little different, their beef rib and pulled pork are also solid choices. The sides don’t disappoint either the mac and cheese is creamy, the cornbread is on point, and the slaw adds a nice crunch to balance out the richness of the meats. Service is friendly but casual, which matches the whole vibe of the place. It’s counter service, so don’t expect a full sit down restaurant experience, but that’s part of what makes it feel relaxed and welcoming. Prices are on the higher side for BBQ, but the quality justifies it. If you’re craving authentic, well-smoked barbecue in Miami, Hometown Barbecue is definitely worth checking out.

M

So insanely delicious! Everything is incredible. Definitely get the chicken wings, pulled pork and ribs or rib tips. Other sneaky amazing plates are the turkey, coleslaw, brisket queso, and broccoli. Honestly.c everything I have had there is 10/10. Their spicy cucumber margarita is really refreshing too. Vibe of restaurant is great. This is definitely an awesome spot.

Hometown Barbecue is definitely a gem! We tried the brisket, ribs, cole slaw, and mac and cheese, and everything was amazing—perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the ribs had the perfect smoky flavor. The sides were just as delicious, especially the creamy mac and cheese. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but it’s absolutely worth it for the quality and taste. Highly recommend!

Although a little pricier than your typical BBQ joint, the food and ambiance truly make this a great restaurant. Initially I was a little skeptical about the location, but it really is perfect for the setting! We went on a Sunday right before the late afternoon/evening rush and were able to find parking, order and get our food all in a matter of minutes! We ended up spending about $50 for two people (we shared the Rib tips, brisket, a small slaw, a large Mac & cheese, and a banana pudding) it was all delicious and although hubby said he could eat more, I was full!!! I even ate my brisket "crumbs" to ensure nothing was left on the plate! All of the flavors worked so perfectly together and that Queso Mac and cheese...I could bathe in it!!! We will definitely be back soon, and ready to try some more of the items on the menu!!!

One of the best barbecue restaurants I've experienced, went for lunch on a weekday and ordered the brisket with mac and cheese and the honey butter cornbread. Probably the best mac and cheese I've ever had in a restaurant and that sweetness of the honey butter took the cornbread to another level! The brisket was perfectly cooked and moist and when paired with the sides, a match made in heaven. Definitely coming back to this place.

Absoltuely delicious! We’ve been searching for a great BBQ place in Brickell and we’re so happy we finally found it! The brisket, wings, pulled pork, Mac and cheese and corn bread were SO GOOD! Service from Darci was excellent-all staff were so kind and attentive. Love that they have a full bar. Awesome playlist too! We’ll be back SOON! Highly recommend!!

I ate there yesterday with some co-workers. The restaurant is located in Allapatah, in a converted warehouse. It's bright and airy with industrial vibes. You order your food items at the counter, and staff brings you your selections when ready. Lunchtime was busy, but service was surprisingly fast by comparison. The food is delicious and well plated, and portion sizes are generous. We ordered the taco briskets, ribs, Oaxacan chicken, and the yuca bowl (was the star of the show, for us). Plenty of parking, staff was courteous throughout our dining experience. Will be back!

The best BBQ in Miami hands down 🇺🇸 what can i tell you, this Miami must has the best corn bread i think i’ve ever had! the pork ribs, baby back ribs, turkey club sandwich, brisket and mac and cheese are so good. The atmosphere, high ceilings and open bar concept is beautiful. I highly recommend you add this as you must stop for BBQ in Miami-Dade country! let them know i sent you!

J

Best BBQ IN MIAMI! Brisket is really tender and the spare pork ribs… WAOOOOOO the meat falls off and the taste was brutal! The elote is a bit too spicy for my taste, but that is just me.. Mac and cheese is really good to! The only bad thing is that there are only a few parking spots and they are always full.

M
Miguel Plata

Wow was the food good. The brisket is by far the best I have ever had. It was full or flavor and just melted in your mouth. The turkey was moist and delicious a surprise when most places tend to dry it out. The BBQ pulled pork was delicious as well and we'll seasoned. The corn bread was definitely not what I expected, it was not at all dryed out and the sweet hint of honey was a surprise I enjoyed. The only thing I would tell anyone plannimg a trip here is that the food is pricey but the quality matches what you pay for.

N
Nick Gray

The Frito Pie was great! Good amount of meat, cheese, and Fritos. We also got a side of slaw, 1/2 lbs of brisket, and 1/2 lbs of pork ribs. Brisket was very good. Fast service and friendly staff. Good music inside with tall ceilings and nice natural light.

Wow! BEST brisket I've ever had! Even have the rib tips! Delicious! I'm a fan! Corn bread was good too but RedRooster still holds crown on that tho. Can wait to go back again to try other fares.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

HELL YES. 10/10 would recommend The service was phenomenal! Im sad I that I can't remember the waiters name but he was great! The atmosphere there was so cool. We tried literally every appetizer on the menu and they were all great, not one was lackluster! The baked beans were something you just wanted to dive into and cuddle up amongst the beans! The Frito Pie was outstanding, so tasty, so many flavors that all worked together. The ribs were hands down, without a doubt, the best ribs that I have ever had! (Sorry Dad, he would be rolling in his grave if he heard I had better ribs than his!) but they were so different and delicious! I live in WV where I cannot get anything like this, so I will be craving this until my next visit to FL. When I most certainly will be making this place one of my first stops!

If you’re craving real smoky BBQ in Miami, this is the spot. We ordered the beef rib and brisket, and both were cooked to perfection, tender, and melted in your mouth with every bite. We also tried the turkey, which was very moist and delicious, holding its flavor beautifully. The cornbread had a sweet and salty taste, easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time, and the mac and cheese had a nice consistency, creamy without being heavy. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, making it perfect for a casual meal that still feels like a treat. If you love BBQ, Hometown BBQ is a must in Miami.

J

INCREDIBLE BBQ! So scrumptious and so absolutely addictive it's impossible to stop once you get going! Sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful Miami sunshine outside the back of the restaurant. The biggest surprises that were culinary standouts were the Oaxacan Chicken and Charsiu Baby Back Ribs...food was so good we wanted to include the chef in the will! Also not to be glossed over by any means, the brisket had a wonderful bark, a fantastic portion and a perfect cook. We loved the Pulled Pork and the Frito pie was a hitter and made me reconsider the meaning of life. Let's not forget about the sides: the Smoked Pit Beans with the Smoked Pork were succulent and the Hometown slaw had a nice spin on it by not being so mayo centric. If I lived in Miami, I'd happily give them all my money on a regular basis so wander down and see what I'm talking bout' if you don't know already.

My first time at the Miami hometown BBQ, at the time it was not super crowded but it's my understanding this is a very popular weekend and catering BBQ. Food service in atmosphere was impeccable and the bar service compliments the menu. Highly recommended. Includes a light fare of watermelon salad 🥗 which I chose. Try to enjoy

Prueba sus cocteles también 👍🏻 If you’re in downtown Miami and craving an authentic BBQ experience, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of smoked meats fills the air, preparing your senses for an unforgettable feast. The atmosphere is cozy, with a modern twist that perfectly complements the traditional essence of BBQ. The staff is friendly and always ready to recommend the best dishes based on your preferences. Speaking of the food, every bite is a delight. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, the yuca bowl brisket has the perfect amount of juiciness and smoky flavor, and you can’t miss the sides like m.

First time tasting this type of food, greasy but the flavor is amazing. I want to come back and try more different stuff.

The food was insanely delicious but the location is kinda scary and weird, the service was really mid. I would recommend this place if you are a brisket lover.

The location is cool, part of the city you don’t see unless you’re in the wholesale food business. Very clean and efficient for a BBQ spot. Full bar and good beer selection, fast service (weekday lunchtime). But, now for the reason you actually go eat BBQ. I gave this place a four star rating, because of the above mentioned qualities. But the meat is definitely a 3 star rating. Ribs had very little meat, and lacking a smoke flavor. Pulled pork was fatty and non memorable. Mac and cheese was forgettable. It’s not bad food, but not great and certainly not worth the price.

Very nice place for a quick bite and to sit and chill for a bit. The food was delicious however a bit overpriced for the portion size in my opinion. The place has ample seating both indoors and out. The parking was limited when I went at lunch time although it probably gets better once the other businesses close and space opens up. Worth the trip to try it out.

So I went to the Miami marlin game and none of the food looked good so I decided to try out Hometown bbq. When the Uber pulled up I thought we went to the wrong place. I thought it was still at the stadium because the prices are high. We tried brisket, pull pork sando and pork ribs. Pork ribs are my favorite sandwich was also good. Brisket was mid. The beer selection sucked and the workers had no personality. Nobody greeted us when we walked in or out. Only a handful of people in the restaurant. The bathroom was very clean. Overall decent place i know bbq is not cheap but it's overpriced IMO.

The flavour of the brisket was amazing. The food portions were good but charging for all the extras was a bit disappointing and the brisket was a little cold.

Hometown Barbecue has a cool industrial, warehouse-style vibe. The place is huge, open, and welcoming, which makes it great for hanging out. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after a week out of town and decided to treat myself to some BBQ. I tried the pork ribs, house sausage, elote, coleslaw, and wings. The clear winner was the house sausage, definitely fatty but packed with flavor, I’d come back just for that. The wings were also really good, with a smoky, tangy, slightly spicy sauce that hit all the right notes. The ribs, however, were a bit disappointing, the meat wasn’t tender and didn’t come off the bone easily. The sides were fine but nothing special. I also tried the spicy mezcal version of a pisco sour, which was pretty mediocre and not something I’d order again. Overall, food was hit or miss and a bit pricey, but I’d return for the sausage and wings.

I would like to start off by saying I mainly enjoyed this place. Especially the side dishes. The potato salad felt really light and refreshing which is awesome next to fatty smoked meats. To get broccoli on the plancha with a crema and chili oil was a very welcome vegetable side I have not seen at a BBQ spot before I would've liked more crema drizzled all over the top to incorporate it more than just on the bottom of the plate to swipe it up. The coleslaw is also really nice and not too sweet. The brisket was tender fatty and delicious. However compared to the best brisket I've ever had in my life (Pecan Lodge in Dallas Texas) there was just some lacking of a completely smokey flavor and I couldn't tell you how to improve or change this, but on the other side very desirable and delicious brisket definitely top tier as far a Florida BBQ spots. Their char shu pork ribs were really tasty and I loved the texture cooked enough to be tender but still have some bite to them. I Don't believe the person at the register knew if they had a tomato product in them or not. But I believe they did and that's why they gave me heartburn like no other. (Tomato sensitivity) That's definitely why it's a 4 star not a 5 star....maybe if I skipped that and ordered the pastrami pork belly I would've been better. Turkey though is something I think most people really sleep on in BBQ. So moist tender and flavored well with smoke and pepper!!! I would go again. I wouldn't want to go late at night or have my wife go by herself as far as the location is concerned.

Good place . Not my favorite but pretty descent. The baby back ribs second time I want to eat them they're always out. The pulled pork taco was way to soggy. The smoked turkey BLT was excellent, the frito pulled pork and sour cream was horrible.

Great barbecue spot in Allapatah! On our first visit, we ordered the brisket, pulled pork, mac & cheese, beans, cornbread, and rib tips. Out of everything we ordered our favorite items were the brisket and the rib tips. The brisket was phenomenal - it didn't even need BBQ sauce. The rib tips were also amazing, highly recommend getting these if you stop by. Ambience was amazing, I love the decorations. Full bar and many cocktail options in a rustic environment. Staff was very friendly and helpful. John was great! On my second visit I tried out a guava vodka cocktail along with the mole wings, both came out perfect. Highly recommend both of these. Will be back soon!

Smoke ring but but low smoke. Miami style BBQ. Worth trying. Ordered half pound for meats. 2 big dudes. We were full most of the day. Sausage oh yes. Going back just for sausage

4.25 ⭐️ Top 5 BBQ in Miami for sure. Even though the location seems sketchy, it is definitely a vibe and an atmosphere— I love it. Both day and night have a wonderful ambiance. The staff is friendly and uplifting, keeping the place clean and on point. Starting with Smoked Brisket Queso, which is a must-order. The tortilla chips are crispy and fresh, and the brisket queso is juicy, creamy, and mouthwatering!!! The meats are great themselves, very nice offered sauces on the sides, and that salt they put on top of the meats is phenomenal! I expected a bit more from Queso Mac + Cheese and Smoked Pit Beans, but don’t get me wrong; they are still good. Corn Bread is pretty solid as well as Elote. I cannot wait to explore the menu further!

Amazing BBQ but Holy Smokes is it expensive!! If you want delicious BBQ and are willing to fork it up for the experience, go for it. The price tag stings. I accepted that and put it aside to enjoy great food. And it was! So enough about the big bill! Outrageous brisket!! One of the best i have had. Exactly what i want my brisket experience to be. The wings are pretty dang good too! The homemade sausage, yeap!! Thats good too. Broccoli a la plancha was beautiful and delicious. I ordered knowing it was a lot and i would take left overs home but... Almost didnt make it. It was not easy to put the fork down. Service was a bit on the dry side and i really dont care to be swatting flies away from my food. Management please take note.

Went on a Thursday evening. Not crowded at all. Server was very nice. Whole staff help each other. Place is very clean. Food was delicious. Found home made sausage salty. Price is up there but there is enough for left overs for 2 meals.... had the brisket, sausage, Cole slaw and Mac and cheese.

Hometown BBQ is so good! The service was very good as many employees stood behind the counter ready and waiting to make the food orders as soon as they come in. The pulled pork was so tender and delicious plus the brisket, which was unbelievable tender and amazing. My first time having a brisket and I would definitely go back just for that. The food portions were great and plenty for a small party to share. The coleslaw could use extra work and the cornbread was not bad. I expected the honey butter to be present throughout the corn bread instead of just on top but overall, it meshed well with the dishes. The pickles added a great texture and flavor with the brisket and pulled pork. There is also a full bar which the bartender makes pretty good drinks, I had the Long Island. Ambiance was very nice!

I had to see what the hype was about. I left full but very underwhelming. I had the brisket sandwich, small Mac and cheese with a sprite that ran me $32.40 pretty insane for what I had. This was worth $20 max. The brisket was mid at best. The Mac was good I have absolutely had much better. The fountain drinks come from a soda gun and I bet you they need cleaning it has a taste. They could use some wind curtains on the entrance I was fighting off flys and bugs the entire meal. The service was great everyone was nice and they checked on me at my table during the meal. It’s a really cute place and the atmosphere is great. YMMV

My husband and I stopped by.. first of all, parking is TERRIBLE! Super limited parking spaces, we were scared to just park on the side of the road and didnt want to block in anyone who already parked in the limited spaces that were available. We sat in the car for at least 20 mins after they had open for someone to leave and park in that space. The location is in a warehouse area so there are semi trucks trying to back in where they need to (which is why we didn't want to park on the side of the road). We ordered 2 pounds of sliced brisket, a side of coleslaw, corn bread, macncheese and corn. Coleslaw didnt have any flavors, it was bland. I didn't care for the corn either.. The corn was just sour. We like the brisket, macncheese and corn bread. The cornbread was sweet and delicious. Macncheese was not dry! The brisket that had some fat in it melted in your mouth and the leaner part was a little dry, but their bbq sauces saved the day. We paid about $100 for this meal (tip included) which I thought was really expensive, but it is what it is. I dont recommend the coleslaw or corn.

I’ve heard such great things about this place I decided to stop by on my lunch. My 1st impression was the flies buzzing around the tables, that was a big turn off. I almost left but decided to stay and give this place a shot. I ordered six wings and potatoes salad. It came up to $25 bucks which I thought was a bit pricey but I heard this place was good so I was willing to spend it. I’m not a big fan of mayo so I’m usually careful when I order potato salad. It was a creamy potatoe salad, no potatoe chunks, it had bits of onion, and it had a very vinegary flavor. Not bad but not my style. The wings were good, I got the bbq flavor the other flavor choices were buffalo sauce and mole dust served with cilantro, queso fresco and poblano crema. They had sauces available on the table hot & bbq. They were both very good. The best part of my meal was the drink 🍹 😋 The bartender was Jason and he was very knowledgeable about the drinks I asked a few questions and decided to get the cucumber margarita. It came with a long, thin slice of cucumber 🥒 and a lime 🍋‍🟩 I think that was the best margarita I’ve ever had. And even tho I I arrived a little before 3 Jason was cool enough to give me the happy hour price. Even tho I liked the food and drink and the servers were very polite I definitely won’t be returning bc of the flies and gnats. I was fighting them off from every direction. They were buzzing around my food and drink. They landed on the side of my plate and napkin a few times nd even on me. I wasn’t able to finish the potato salad bc a fly landed on it. Not around the side of the cup but on the actual food. I would’ve stayed and got a few more drinks but the flies and gnats literally pushed me out the door. Idk if it’s always like that or if maybe they had a delivery and the door was left open but I definitely will not be returning bc of the flying insect problem. I would recommend this place but definitely bring a fly swatter and some extra napkins or baby wipes if you get the bbq. Check me out on IG or TT MyNameIsRose 🌹

Nice place, beef ribs are good but much less tasty than apocalyspe ones', rib tips/brisket/all sides sucks. Banana pudding is not home made. Overpriced regarding the tast and bbq quality, but still a good lunch idea

Went to visit today. Had the Brisket and Turkey. The turkey was good, the brisket was not very tender or juicy. It was just myself and I wanted to try two kinds of meat. The only option on the menu is to order a 1/2 pound. I asked if I could do a 1/4 pound of each and was told no. Bill with gratuity was $60. I appreciate BBQ and understand there's a cost of doing business but I didn't see the value in going here, if the food was great for that price I would probably return but not worth it for what I got in my opinion. 2 stars for food 4 stars for staff and atmosphere.

C
Caroline Santiago

Ordered through Uber Eats. The food was okay but honestly not worth the price. $18 for a half pound of spare ribs which is just 2 ribs. $22 for a half pound of brisket which is just 3 slices of meat. $7 for a 2x2x2” piece of cornbread. The brisket and the watermelon salad were highlights but the prices are insane for what you actually get.

I love Hometown BBQ but the only thing they cannot seem to get right are ribs. I keep giving the ribs a chance by ordering them every other time I go and I am always disappointed. Though the flavor of the sauce is good, the meat is always tough and dry. Extremely disappointing. Other places have consistently soft, come off the bone style meat. You will NOT find that here. Therefore, I recommend other items done great such as the pulled pork. I recommend this place regardless, I just recommend against any and all ribs unless they explicitly announce a new formula or something. Definitely give this spot a shot.

Hidden gem with great vibe, but food didn’t meet expectations I visited this spot after a friend highly recommended it, and while I really liked the vibe and the unique concept of the place—it feels like a hidden gem given the area—the food fell short for me. The staff was friendly and recommended the pork ribs, but they weren’t as fresh as expected. They were warm, not hot, and didn’t feel like they’d just been made. The mac & cheese was the highlight but the potato salad was served too cold and I didn’t like the sour taste. Overall, the food didn’t meet my expectations, especially for the price. Sides aren’t included, and with beer at around $10 a pint, it felt overpriced considering the location. The beer was good, though. In summary, nice place to check out for the atmosphere and drinks, but I wouldn’t come back for the food. If you're craving good ribs, I’d still choose Flanigan’s.

Ok so I wouldn’t call myself a bbq expert. But I have been to a few places for bbq in south Florida. And can say the other places had better more legit bbq. Hometown is definitely more trendy and way overpriced. Wow, why don’t they have combo options?! The cornbread was dry but I liked the honey butter glaze. The mac n cheese was ok but I like that they put bread crumbs on it. The potato salad was ok. And the brisket wasn’t as juicy as I’ve had at other places. The best thing we had was the Beef Rib omg that was amazing. But it was also my first beef rib. The banana pudding was mostly whipped cream. I will say the vibe inside is very cool and a modern take on a bbq joint. Maybe I would go again but it’s also a bit of a drive for me.

Is there any way to make some things like watermelon salad elite without cheese or barbecue pit beans without meat all the way through it for people who may have heart issues cholesterol issues or not interested in meat.?. I wish.. it would make it easier for me Thank you.. No complaints about the quality of the food but please consider makeing it optional?

C
Christopher Torres

For 50 bucks I get a quarter pound of brisket and a quarter pound of ribs, a small cup of sweet tea and a small side of mac and cheese. First of all this place is ridiculously overpriced, like call the police overpriced. The barbecue is nowhere near anything close to Nashville or Texas BBQ, where they actually smoke your meat for hours. The brisket was very tough, didn't really have much of a smoked flavor, didn't have enough fat in it either. The ribs were about the same, low quality pork meat, not soft, not tender, did not fall off the bone, and didn't taste like it was smoked at all, tasted more like they cooked it in the oven with extra pepper just to mask the fact that it's not even smoked. The sweet tea was actually pretty good, but who can mess that up right? The mac and cheese was pretty disappointing, it tasted like they just opened a pack of Velveeta and put it in there with no actual real shredded cheese. And you're paying $7 for a small side of mac and cheese that's really nothing special, like I said, waaaay overpriced for mediocre food. Just seems like they care more about money than about cooking actual quality food.

Spent over 40 dollars on Uber Eats and got a dry brisket (had to put my own barbecue sauce on it for some more flavor), dry and crumbly cornbread, and an okay queso that was partly solidified. Don’t recommend uber eats-ing from here

The food was just an underwhelming experience….when you can get better (by miles) BBQ in Canada, you know we’ve got a problem…where do we start. Queso mac and cheese was liquidly/runny and flavourless…I’ve made better Kraft Mac and cheese at home (honestly). The beans just tasted like beans. So rich smokey flavour, no tasty bean sauce/gravy. Just bland. The brisket sandwich was ok at best. Brisket was pulled already, and for $16 I expect slices…you know it’s pulled because it’s hiding something. Overall just a lacklustre experience, and an EXPENSIVE one at that…definitely will not be back.

This place is in an industrial shady area. It’s large and clean and a hand full of people at the time. The pulled pork sandwich was good but Lacked coleslaw and the sauces made it even better. We returned the brisket as it was cold. Second serving was better but not by much and very fatty. The meat tasted boiled not smoked. For what we paid and what we got, skip this place. Florida bbq has been a disappointment.

T
Tiberiu Hrihorciuc

When the baby ribs are almost as big as humans and npt tasty at all plus the coleslaw is nothing special you know that's the kind of barbecue joint you don't want to return to. Atmosphere is great if that's the only thing that counts for you.

I was very disappointed in the place. I had such high hopes. I’ve eaten at the Brooklyn location. Unfortunately Hometown, Miami is just not a hit. I will return and try some turkey, smoked wings and a few more items. Let’s see how it is. Brisket- No smoke in the meat what so ever! Brisket was ok at best. Needs a ton of work unfortunately. Spare ribs- NO smoke at all, they didn’t even have any pork flavor, very BLAND! Pastrami bacon- I though this was very good although NO smoke flavor. It was Gelatinous, soft and this was most definitely different, not traditional but different in a good way. Sausage- I thought the sausage was good. Was missing something for sure. I was looking forward to a “SNAP” unfortunately it lacked that. Potato salad- My girlfriend really liked. She said it was very good. Coleslaw- Wasn’t bad, I’m more of a mayonnaise based Cole slaw personally. Cornbread- (Regular) really good corn, really soft and tasted good. (Butter & honey) no picture This was the best part of the meal. I highly recommend this. Butter to honey ratio was on point. Was extremely tasty.

After much hype, I wanted to try this place forever and finally had the opportunity. I came in and ordered the super hyped brisket, 8 oz of it, a small mac and cheese, and a Coke. $42. I was like "what?" But since it have been so hyped I was expecting amazing things, so I was like ok. The ambience is cool and laidback. The food came out quickly. And I can't wait to sink my teeth into what I think is going to be a spectacular brisket, judging by the price. The first bite, disappointment. The brisket is cold. No delicious beefy flavor. Tender it was, but under seasoned under salted under smoked. It was cold, no smoke ring around, no bark, no juice. But it was tender. This first piece was part of the brisket point, which tends to be fattier and juicier. The second piece came from the brisket flat. This part tends to be dryer, so I'm already afraid I wasted my money and my afternoon coming here. My fears turned out to be....right. It was a cold, under seasoned, no smoke flavor, no beef flavor, and these next two pieces were pretty dry. The Mac and cheese was very good. It was all dente. And very tasty. But who comes to a BBQ place just for the Mac and cheese. You must first deliver on the meat. Don't get me wrong, the food is not bad. It's edible. I finished it (I'm not gonna waste $42). Had I pad $25 bucks, I would have been like "whatever", and wouldn't even bother writing a review. I would have not come back and left it alone. But this place is pure hype, and I honestly felt ripped off.

J
Jon Snow

Uber Eats order. I ordered rib tips, a side of queso Mac n cheese and corn bread. I didn’t get rib tips. It was old ribs and bones drenched in the sweet sticky sauce. The meat itself was dry and overcooked. Does not look like the pictures. The Mac and cheese was alright. Literally tastes like queso. The corn bread was one small square for $7. It was flavorful but wasn’t warm and the texture was kind of stale. I’m all for spending money for good food that is worth it but this place is definitely over priced and doesn’t match the quality of the food.

I came here for my birthday since I heard so much about this place. Let’s start with them messing up our order. The music was so loud that the gentleman taking my order barely got it right after repeating multiple times. I was not pleased at all the beans were bitter and nasty. The only decent thing I may have had was the Mac n cheese. The pulled pork was super watery. The brisket was decent I spend over 100 dollars for just two people. I was just miserable expecting greatness and was ruined by this horrible food experience. I love bbq but this by far was my worst experience. The worst part when we brought it to their attention they messed up order they were pretty rude bringing the receipt multiple times showing we got what we ordered for example we said CORNBREAD he put down corn. Simple mistake that can be fixed but instead they brought the receipt to prove something. If there aren’t many people why In the world would you have it so loud in a restaurant where people also speak to each other. Families screaming at each other to listen to what others are saying. Sounds like a club at 4pm on a Sunday . I don’t mind spending money on delicious food but this wasn’t it.

I can see why this place has 6 tables on a federal holiday. Ordered the beef rib. Loaded tots with brisket elote and the pork sandwich and everything but the tater tots that were fried was room temperature, brought it up to who seemed to be the shift lead and got rolling eyes and a look like I was crazy. Happy birthday to me
