My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Portofino, and the experience was made exceptional thanks to Natalie. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. Natalie was incredibly attentive, ensuring that every detail was taken care of throughout our meal. She gave great recommendations and checked on us regularly without ever being intrusive. Her friendly attitude and genuine care turned a simple dinner into a memorable experience for all of us. The food was delicious—perfectly cooked pizza with fresh ingredients—but it was Natalie’s outstanding service that truly stood out. If you visit Portofino ask for Natalie, she’ll make your experience unforgettable. Thanks Natalie for your great attention and superb hospitality. Also to the rest of the staff. Keep it up!!! 🙏🏽
This is the spot for fantastic coal fired pizza, Ines provided great service and was on top of refills and making sure we were taken care off, highly recommend this place if you like thin crust and charred pizza, loved it!
I enjoyed dinner with a friend, eating outside on a beautiful South Florida evening. The food was delicious, and Natalie was very helpful with suggestions for someone who could not make us his mind. She allowed us plenty of time to talk and decide on our meals but was available to us as we decided and wanted to place our order. In my assessment, Natalie knows the perfect combination of allowing the diner time to decide, time to chat, and yet being available when ready. She was absolutely delightful, making a meal out with a friend on a beautiful evening even more the perfect dining experience.
Good food, friendly staff, plenty of parking, reasonable prices.
The pizza was great! We ordered lasagna, a kids’ cheese pizza, and a BBQ chicken pizza—all were fresh and delicious. Plus, delivery arrived 30 minutes earlier than expected, which was a nice surprise. Great service overall!
Solid pizza! Definitely hit the spot after driving all day!
Great service, our waitress Kim was outstanding!
The service was great and the food was awesome, my server Kim was specially awesome thank you.
Super good place to eat, the service was amazing and the atmosphere felt classy 10/10
Omar was Amazing, was our first time here and this place is a vibe and the food is amazing . service was amazing 10/10
Wow! I'm the one that like to make my own pizza at home but this one was a very good choice the staff was amazing and the pizza OMG, perfect color real tomatoes sauce real cheese real basil perfect size for 3. Place is clean, and services is fast. Price is fair. Highly recommended .
Service was great! The calzone was huuuge and cheesy! Penne Pasta was freaking delicious! Natalie was amazing and very attentive. Great experience!!! The only way my experience could have been any better is if they had added the Nutella Banana Pizza with powdered sugar back on the menu!
This was the second time we’ve gone to Portofino and once again had a great experience! Food was great & so was our server Omar, can’t wait to go back again
We've been coming here for 8 years and no complaints, we all love the pizza, atmosphere and customers service. Good as always!!
Very great service, Gabriel helped out pick the Large Fiesta. Very nice very cozy! Thank you would come again no matter what
real nice place, gabriel the server was real nice and real funny. Whole place cool, people cool too, when i come back down hopefully Gabriel’s there again.
Portofino Pizza never disappoints! The pizza is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service is just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone craving great food and warm hospitality!
Great place for good Italian! Service was great too! Server (i call her Chicago cuz I can't remember her name) was awesome and gave us great recommendations for the food and talked about a bunch of places she and her son has been to for snorkeling and sealife as well.. if we are ever back here, we will be back.. if you like more authentic Italian (not Olive Garden) then this is the place for you!
If you want to taste the best mouthwatering coal fired Italian pizza🍕 in Homestead Florida this is the place to go. I must recommend the "portofino special pizza🍕"it is just delicious. This is also one of the few places that has exceptional services even on days that the restaurant is full the employees are very friendly. I've always notice the dining areas are always cleaned promptly even when there's a handful of people. Thumbs up to the management & staff!
Omar was great. Very knowledgeable in the menu. Food was great. We had the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken. Save the Cows.
Thank you Oscar for being our waiter. He is awesome and helpful. Great pizza (Margherita Pizza).
Excellent service! Kim was very friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. Truly appreciated her positive attitude.
Can’t say enough how much we Loved this place! So fresh so delicious.... so nicely cooked. The nicest staff and a very clean place with a super nice ambience!! We ordered a vegetarian one during the lunch hour and were kinda wishing that they had more stores across the US. Any day we are in town we will surely visit again.
Ordered for delivery! Salad and pizza were both fresh and tasted amazing. Best Gluten Free crust I’ve had in awhile!
If You are in Homestead,And have a Pizza hunger attack. This is the right place to visit. The place is neat. The attention is 10 star. And the magic comes out in the pizza flavor.Me and Family got serve by Mr.Ferre.You can't go wrong in this place 4 different kind of pizza, chicken wings. Soup. They were delicious.
Gabriel’s the man! Aran helped too, love the spaghet and the large pies. Real good food thank you to those 2 and god bless!
I absolutely love their pizza especially the new pizza with honey however I’m extremely sad they took out their epic portofino salad and replaced it with something else. I would be a weekly customer but not anymore because their salad was delicious. Please bring back your original portofino salad so I can be your weekly customer. 🙏 thank you!
I had two beers and a large margarita pizza. The pizza was delicious but next time im going to ask for a little char on the crust it was a little under cooked but everything else was on point. Will come back again.
Love their wings. They were cooked perfectly. I do miss the original Portofino salad for two that has tomatoes, onions, eggs and garbanzos. I used to eat it with every meal. The best salad all around and they are no longer serving it 😔
I definitely recommend Portofino. I wish they would consider lowering the price of their pizzas by a couple dollars. If they did that, I think they would get more frequent orders. It was very good though.
This was the second time we’ve gone to Portofino and had a great experience with Omar both times. Food was great as well as service. And over all the restaurant just gives a homey feel. Can’t wait to go back again !
I had an amazing meal - the pizza and salads were delicious! The atmosphere was clean and comfortable. I enjoy the daily specials they offer weekly.
Our server was Oscar who was pretty awesome!! It was my first time here so he was very helpful with guiding me through some good recommendations on the menu. Food was fresh and very delicious. I had the ricotta calzone. And it was perfect. Thanks to Oscar’s great service, I definitely will be coming back.
Omar was great! Food is always delicious and fresh. Power went out due to bad weather and he lit candles for us while we ate. They also offered us free dessert which was a plus. Highly recommend.
Omar was an excellent waiter - attentive, personable. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Pizza is always on point and the watermelon caprioska and the Italian margarita are always solid choices for those looking for a nice adult drink :-)
The bartender Blake was clearly a little busy but she handled us perfectly! The veggie pizza was delicious and the focaccia was *chefs kiss* but we’ll definitely be back for the exceptional service
I loved the Traditional we had. The sauce was delicious and very quickly became my favorite!! I will definitely be ordering it again. The fried mozzarella was good too but not as “cheesy” as we’d hoped. Going in to order, I loved the vibe of the restaurant and the staff was very friendly. I’ll be going back for date night very soon!
Routinely order the pizza on Wednesdays because of the special (large cheese for $10) Tried to order online because I don't like their system of reading my card over the phone. Ordered a large cheese pizza 16" through an app. Received a 14" pizza. Thought I was going crazy so I checked the app and it does say A a small was 12" and a large was 16". Somehow I've ended up either neither. Not sure whether the store is trying to pull a fast one on people who use the app or there was an honest mistake. Will try again some other time to see if they're playing games And yes I measured my pizza, I want my 189 in^2 of missing Za'
So the overall experience was very nice. Calamari was great, margarita pizza very solid. The service by our server Nick was absolutely outstanding, above and behind. They were very informative, answered all our questions, and gave great recommendations. The one thing was that on the portofino website the menu was not updated so I had been looking forward to their amazing portofino salad. Their original one was so absolutely amazing, filled with so many toppings that balanced so well with their absolutely incredible house dressing. It made it a great meal salad, and not just a boring green leaf salad. However they apparently recently changed their menu, and the new portofino salad was completely changed, just a few toppings, and majority not the same toppings as before. As someone who truly loves a great salad at a restaurant, this use to be a great filling option. I highly recommend bringing back the old version of this with the house dressing. It was absolutely perfect. Once again tho- even though I was slightly disappointed with them changing their iconic portofino salad, the service we received from Nick really kept it a lovely evening. And we absolutely loved them as a server.
The pizza texture is good. I order the veggie with meatballs topping. It’s very crispy. The crust is vey thin. The pizza was missing the traditional flavor and need some additional seasoning. It is missing the traditional pizza flavor. I do wish there was more cheese on the pizza as well. Everything is made from scratch. The meatballs are also 100% beef. Customer service was awesome and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great. Great for family and love ones.
OH MY GOD!! I wrote that out instead of the acronym because it’s that good. Crust has amazing crispyness with just the right amount of chew and a delicious slight buttery flavor to it. Toppings are all top shelf. Their meat lovers has a fresh basil ricotta on it that will make your taste buds cry tears of joy!! Jo Jo kept me entertained talking about scuba diving, I’m a scuba instructor, while I waited. I’ve definitely found my Homestead, FL go to pizza place!! Only complaint is no real local beer selection.. but still deserve all five stars.
Portofino is our go-to for pizza when we are in town for races, several times a year—ordered wings, Caesar salad, mac & cheese, and meatballs. All the food was great. Had to wait a few for them to make some fresh meatballs. They were WELL worth the wait. The wings were good, and my son liked the mac & cheese. The service was fair, but it could definitely use some improvement.
Stopped by Portofino Pizza in Homestead, FL ecently and left feeling underwhelmed. When we walked in, there was a sign asking guests to wait to be seated, but no one was at the host stand for quite a while. After some time, we were eventually seated and told that “one of us will be serving you,” but unfortunately no one came by for a while after that. The overall atmosphere felt disjointed. The pizza maker was on a Bluetooth call while preparing food, the owner appeared to be working on a laptop, and one of the servers was eating during a break in the dining area. It was also surprisingly quiet for 7pm on a weeknight, which didn’t help the overall energy of the place. The food itself was fine — it satisfied the craving but didn’t stand out.
Honest Review: the pizza it's not the most visually appealing pie out there, however, don’t let looks fool you, because the flavor makes up for it. I ordered the Bianche, and let me just say — this is an absolute must-try. I added Alfredo sauce, which took the flavor to the next level, giving it a rich, creamy finish that paired perfectly with the coal-fired crust. If you want to elevate it even more, toss in some onions — As for drinks, skip the sangria — it’s not their strong suit. But their spicy mango margarita? Total winner. We liked it so much we ended up ordering three. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming. It wasn’t crowded when we went, which made for a relaxed dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, rounding out a solid visit. Final verdict: While the presentation may not impress, the food and overall vibe definitely will. Go for the Bianche, stay for the margaritas.
We have been ordering from Portafinos for years and have loved the pizza. Recently there is a serious fall off with the pizza. It seems as though they are putting waaaaaaay too much cheese on the pizza to the point where the cheese layer is twice as thick as the crust. Also, they have lessened the sauce on their pies, specifically the standard cheese pizza. They used to include a few dabs on top of the cheese like they do in Italy. Thats gone completely. All that being said, the ingredients are still fresh and flavorful. I just hope this cheese and sauce issue gets resolved.
Three stars because it’s the best pizza place in Homestead, I usually order the coal fire pizza because it tastes good but the pizza is a little saggy, and half of the time I ordered from here they messed it up. I pay for toppings and they forget to add it. Like today, no arugula on my pizza, again! at least they were kind enough to give me a refund.
So I've been here several times and its usually really good and service good but today was ok. The waitress looked a little mad for some reason. The flatbread was good but the pizza was missing alot of cheese as you can see from the picture. The best thing we ordered was the chicken wing's, they are one of my favorite tastings items.
Our server was amazing as usual, and food tasted great BUT they got rid of so many menu items. I use to come here multiple times a week as well as have a lot of reservations with family here but they got rid of the mozzarella sticks and focaccia bread. Those were everyone’s favorite 😭😭 Sadly we won’t be returning (unless they bring those back 🙏) and maybe add back some deserts!
The service was excellent. Our waitress was on point and very fast. We had 10 people in our party and she kept up very well. The restaurant looks pretty clean. The overall experience was good except the food. My kids had fried calamari. It was rank... I mean it smelled totally rotten. My kids said it was the worst the had on our entire vacation through Florida. The pizza.... the crust was good, the toppings are fair, but the sauce is just like marinara sauce.... it definitely has a disappointing flavor. All in all, I'm glad we encountered friendly people and good service but I would not come back here because of the good quality.
Phone number to restaurant was not working. Walked in, sign said to wait to ne seated. No one was at host stand for quite a bit. Finally got seated, waitress said one of us will be serving you. She pushed IN the chair before I could sit in it. Wait person came to take our order. No greeting, no name. Dirty tables all around. Everyone that worked there appeared annoyed that people were there. They put in my pizza order in wrong. Hubby had veggie, and I had gluten-free meat lovers without meatballs. Pizza was really good.
This was my first visit to this business. Upon arrival we found that the A/C was not working. The staff was friendly and we were sat straight away. We ordered drinks and garlic knots. It took over 30 minutes to get drinks followed by another 15 minutes before our appetizer. We then ordered a pizza. We waited another hour before the server returned and told us that they were out of the ingredients to make our meal. For my first visit to this business I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this place for a meal.
Customer beware! Theres a common thread here if you read down through reviews… ive come here once a winter for 4 winters now and the owners and or managers still haven’t figured out how to run this business effectively from a service standpoint. Long wait times, slow seating, everything just seems haphazard with no one behind the wheel. I even witnessed a manager verbally discipline a bartender in front of customers…big no no. He seems to be gone but the place is still struggling to put their best foot forward in the service department. On my most recent visit feb 16th- the bartender was casually chatting with her good friend at the bar who was vaping the entire time inside the restaurant. Real trashy… The drinks are just ok and the pizzas are quite good but its just one of those joints that makes you feel kind of like no ones in charge, no one cares. and anything might happen while youre there. All in all its just ok. expect long wait times for food- so go here with folks who you don’t mind spending lots of time with :)
I used to like this place for the gluten-free option, but I think something has changed. Half of the tables were not bussed, and the server was weak. The quality of the pizza went down, too, so it’s definitely not worth it. It’s not bad, just not as good as it was.
So first and foremost the pizza here is good. It's actually surprisingly good not just for homestead but for Miami. However I only come here and order pizza to go. I haven't heard great things about the service and it doesn't seem like the management is very present. Today I came and there's people all around me saying their pizza is late by and hour or that they never got their salad. Personally my pizza was also late by an hour and mine was to go. Place has a lot of potential but just falls short.
We ordered through DoorDash and were very disappointed with our recent experience. The restaurant changed its menu without notifying customers, resulting in us receiving a completely different item. Their explanation was that it was the new item. Additionally, we were promised a refund that was never issued. This lack of communication and follow-through is frustrating and reflects poorly on customer service.
Our server was very nice. But the service itself (waiting to be attended, waiting for the food to arrive and food to go/ pizza) took them forever. We arrived around 830pm. We left around 10. We spent more time waiting for the food when we actually saw people who arrived after us, getting their foods first. Food was not really good. Pizza was great.
Tried to place an order over the phone but nobody answered the phone. Order placed online with a $1 mark up on everything. Pizzas ordered were good as usual but the Italian Salad was laughable at best! $17 for essentially 5 slices of salami over a skimpy pile of greens with some olives. Used to have a fantastic antipasti salad but the menu has changed. Think we’re done with Portofino after this experience. Not worth the price.
Minestrone soup is disgusting, tons of salt on it. Lasagna is very salty and it doesn’t taste like lasagna at all. Chicken Parmesan is very cheap and french fries is very dry. Please do not try to go there if you want. Nice Italian food go across the street to Olive Garden Hundred percent better than this restaurant
Absolutely the worst service ever!! We were so surprised at how bad it was.. the server was Jane H. We were her only table.. for appetizer we got a small caeser salad and a kids pizza for the kids. She forgot the salad, which i didnt get until i asked for it after our entrees. When i asked for it, she looked at her notepad like she didnt believe me or something and didnt apologize or say anything, just walked away. She never refilled water, never once asked how everything was, very negative attitude, zero smiling or kindness. While we were still midway eating, she came up to us with the credit card machine and said "$36.11. " No other words spoken... Just those numbers. My husband and I were shocked and just looked at each other and then with an annoyed tone she said, "oh you wanna order MORE?" I said ... "Yea we wanted to order desert.." the italian donuts with the sauce was very low quality. The chocolate sauce that came on the side was obviously mixed with sink water.. then of course she came back with our new total but I wanted a breakdown of the items and she said "ok" and proceeded to slide the card, and I said "before you process it please" (this was just to make sure no errors were made). She quickly scrolled through it up and down and said "you can see it here" but I asked for a physical copy. She brought it and then processed the card while we were still looking at it and told my husband "sign please" and he was about to put a large tip without realizing he pressed the maximum (which was not earned with this zero service)/ and I said "hold on, just read what your pressing" and she again said "please sign" pressuring him again. I said " hold on, wait a minute, take your time make sure you know what it says" and she again was pressuring him to sign it. It was SO incredibly rude, disrespectful, and awkward. Then she never said thank you or bye or anything. She jus walked away. The caeser salad had NO greens, jus all the white parts of the romaine lettuce. Pretty disappointing food quality overall (I am comparing to how it was in 2020). but the service was horrible!!! I think Jane H. topped anything we will ever encounter for the rest of our lives as far as terrible service. She never gave us a bag for the two boxes, so we had to wait at the "To-Go" corner for about 5 minutes where the guy was on the phone and never made any eye contact to say anything to us or the 5 other people standing there waiting. I had to hunt down the server to ask for it. There was another server that was dressed literally like Beetlejuice at a halloween store. This place used to be our special favorite before covid, but wow what a tremendous decline! With this food quality and service... it might be out of business soon. It used to be an amazing place we would always recommend, but we were shockingly disappointed. Never going back again.
We went to the pizzeria on Valentine's Day and ate 2 pizzas and 2 drinks. The pizzas were too soft and not filled to the brim. The waitress didn't care about us at all. The last point was that we had to ask for the bill three times and it took another very long time until I finally finished it. never again
$$$ Sad day in Homestead, our once go-to date night joint has just gone through another transformation for the worst. Not sure if it will survive the post-pandemic era. The pic I've provided is a comparison of before the pandemic and last night 5/5/2021. The second picture was a portion of the Chicken Alfredo my wife decided to take to work for lunch the next day but when she opened the container and saw all that grease she couldn't eat it. We ordered 1- meatball appetizer 2- Chicken Alfredos and 4- well whisky and cokes. The drinks before were 3 bucks now are 6. All together we paid 81.00 + 10.00 tip. my jaw dropped when I saw the bill and realized each plate of that greasy fettuccine alfredo was 20.00 a pop. I wasn't alone in my disbelief as another couple on my left complained about their bill and a guy on our right was complaining about his fried calamari not being up to par. Going to be hard to stay open when the only affordable option is pizza and your competition are places like Son of a Pizza who still have the best pizza in town and your well drinks are no longer 2 for 1 but 6.00 a pop when you can go across the yard at Chili's you can get 5.00 Jack Daniel and cokes. If you haven't been to Portofino's in a while, keep the good memories and don't ruin them with their current situation. :(
Closed in the weirdest way possible: it was 12 pm on a Sunday, no signs of closing, employees inside working seeing me outside, I finally went to a side door and talked to the manager where she told me they're closed my barely addressing me. I stated the hours are posted differently then she explained something happened. My my experience of this interaction, I'm sensing poor management. Food is good though.
This place sucks in every way. From the service to the fake wannabe Anthony’s pizza I hate this place will never order from here again
Worst experience at any restaurant and we eat out several days per week, since I got food poisoning several years back at another restaurant. Food was OK, availability of basic drinks like ice tea or soda was very limited, no air conditioning on a 80+ afternoon; but the attitude, demeanor, professionalism, and service of the servers was inexcusable. Probably explains why no other patrons in restaurant upon arrival through the time we left…
I have been eating at this restaurant for years. Apparently they have new management and they are changing things except the prices. Not only did they reduce the size of the tiramisu by half, they also reduced the ingredients in it. So not only are you getting half of the product you're also paying twice the amount. Apparently they're doing this in the entire store, removing items, changing items but keeping the prices very disappointing. It's unfortunate
Pizza is not the same due to new management. There's no longer sauce on the pizza. It was one of our favorite spots. Crust is too thin now.
The service here is getting worse. When I call to place an order, they answer the phone but don't help me. I end up hanging up because no one assists me. When I call again, the phone rings and then hangs up. I've been trying to place an order for over 35 minutes, but the line keeps cutting out. I won't be buying from them again. Instead, I will go to Mamma Mia Pizzeria 2, which makes delicious pizza with a great service they answer the phone on point and when they answer they don’t leave you talking by yourself.
The air was broken, so it was extremely hot. The service was SUPER slow, and it wasn’t busy. We waited over an hour for our food. The server even tried to include 18% gratuity after she forgot to order our food for 40minutes. We were a party of 6, ( with 4 kids) when we left, there were 16 empty cups on our table. What happened?!?!?!?! This place used to be so good, even the bruschetta wasn’t the same. I NEVER write negative reviews because I know restaurants can have off nights, this was terrible! And to make it worse, we were celebrating my friends birthday.
A couple of weeks ago, I decided to try this place after recently moving to the neighborhood. If I could give zero stars for the service, I absolutely would. When I walked in, the pizza smell wasn’t bad, so I thought I’d give it a chance. A lady at the entrance told me that if I wanted to order takeout, I should head to the back and order it myself. When I approached the counter near the pizza oven, I asked the guy behind the counter for a menu. His response? Pure hostility. He was shockingly rude, as if asking for a menu was some kind of offense. Honestly, if you can’t handle interacting with customers, maybe you’re in the wrong line of work. That alone should have been enough to make me walk out, but I was hungry, so I went ahead and ordered their "Portofino Special Pizza." Big mistake. When we got home, we couldn’t even finish two slices. The pizza was incredibly heavy, overloaded with ricotta, and the ingredients didn’t complement each other at all. It was borderline inedible. I honestly can’t understand how this place has so many stars. The entire experience was disappointing, and I’ll never waste my money here again.
I walked in to pick up an order, sat at the bar while food was being prepped. Red hair Bartender completely ignored my presence, never bothered to ask if I wanted a drink and continued to chat with a waitress. The young guy Apolo was amazing at getting my food ready.
First and last time. The host which was the on duty manager gave us the menus through the bar and said " take these and you can sit anywhere you like" really!!! Customer service was horrible. The food not so special, no atmosphere not a special experience at all. David is not a server, he doea not know how to attend restaurant. Pleaae managemnt betyer training. The restaurant has more potential.
They changed the famous portofino salad without advise , i used to go and order from them mainly because their salad bur since they dont have the one with garanzos and egg im done ordeing here
I placed an order over the phone and went to pick it up. It was supposed to be half cheese and half with chicken. When I got home and opened the box well over half the pizza had chicken, there were large spaces on the pizza that had no cheese at all and the sauce was so thick my family refused to eat it. I paid $23.00 for this pizza expecting a well made pizza and it was so bad I would have been better off buying a pizza for $6 at Little Caesars. I don’t see the option to upload a photo but I wish I could show what I was sold. Very disappointed.
So if you want Burnt calzones come to this place.....(see pictures). The wings were good and so was the fried mozarella...but when we got the calzones 2 were perfect color but 2 were BURNT how can you serve BURNT food....on top of that I asked for banana peppers and didn't get any but my niece got them all thank God she is not allergic to them. All in all the manager was the one that served us the burnt food that comes to show what she knows about food. So needles to say I will not be back.
I was sat down at a table and waited to be servedfor at least 30 minutes, I cut them some slack due to the fact that it was a Saturday night. But after the half hour mark, I couldn’t cut them anymore slack. No one came not even to ask for our order let alone even for water. So we then had leave because we were in a time crunch and the restaurant staff didn’t seam to care at all.
Disappointed. There is a big difference between sitting at the restaurant and ordering for takeout out or delivery. Seems like they use different strategy to make a pizza depending on the situation. If you eat at the restaurant they will make a very ingredient abundant pizza, but if you order to take out… well you will get a very sloppy pizza with very little cheese, like the one in the photos , unfortunately that is a tactic that many restaurants use to reduce cost, the psychology behind is very simple, once the pizza is at your door, you are hungry and exited to get a good pizza for dinner, but when most people open the box to find a pizza way below their expectations people get mad for a dew minutes and then eat the pizza and everything is forgotten, most of the time. They know most people wont complain. I have ordered a margarita pizza and when the pizza got home, had little and very thin layer of cheese, with few spots without been cover, very disappointed, completely different than then pizza they serve inside. My advise to you who buy to take out! open the box and check inside before you leave. Their food is nor cheap, they should have much better food quality.
I ordered a very simple to-go order consisting of a large pizza, half cheese, half pepperoni with “garlic bread,” which essentially was a bunch of very chewy pita breads with parmesan and garlic on it. The pizza had several BLOBS of tomato sauce on it, was cold, and the dough was very tough. This is the first review I’ve ever written on here, but this was arguably the worst pizza I’ve ever had. I’m not quite sure how they have a 4 star average rating, but I definitely do not recommend.
Worst chicken Alfredo I ever had! I was served a plate full of oil and a bunch of melted cheese on a side and I asked the server where was the Alfredo sauce, which she said that the white stuff was the sauce (that was only cheese) besides that the chicken was absolutely dry, non eatable, I would never recommend the pasta here, Alfredo pasta is the most basic pasta and if you google it you’ll see the white sauce, this pasta was pasta, a whole gallon of oil, and melted mozzarella cheese, that’s not CHICKEN ALFREDO!
I ordered a pizza over 30 minutes ago and when I arrived at the restaurant I was told that the order just came in and that is would take 20-30 minutes for me to get the food. I find this unacceptable as for a medium pizza I paid over $40 - I will not come back.
Portofino has decent food, but I can’t believe there’s been a constant AC leak inside the restaurant for weeks, maybe months, and the AC itself hasn’t worked properly for at least a year. A staff member even told us some customers walk in, feel how hot it is, and turn right around and leave. If this is what customers can see, imagine what could be forming behind the scenes. There aren’t many pizza joints around here, and we don’t want to lose this one, but the owners need to step up and fix these issues now. Owners, do you care about this AT ALL??????????????????
Very dissatisfied with our visit. Started out good as we got our drinks fast. Then took over 30 minutes for someone to take our order. The wait staff appeared to see customers as an inconvenience as they were more interested in talking to each other. Then order took way too long to come out and had no chance to get an order in for another drink. Meatballs are very good. Pizza was just okay and not worth the price charged. Would not come back.
They don't like to serve people of color!!! Tonight my child and I went to eat here and waited for about 10 mins and no one came to seat us or even take our order. Then, I went to the bar and patiently waited for service. The bartender, looked me in my eye, said nothing and continued to help others. So, I thought maybe she was just busy. After waiting another 5 minutes, I decided to call the restaurant to see if I could at least get my order taken. The same bartender walked away from the bar to go get the cordless phone on the other side of the restaurant. Over the phone I asked her to please serve us. She then handed the phone to a waiter and basically refused to us, again! I walked out! And they were not even busy!
We visited for the first time during happy hour. The greeter welcomed us and offered an outdoor table, which we declined due to the cold. The greeter pointed out another employee on the phone, stating he would assist us. We waited nearly 20 minutes at the desk while the employee stayed on the call. When he finally ended it, both he and the greeter approached us. Unfortunately, the greeter repeated the same questions, disregarding our earlier communication, as if we hadn’t been there before. We had assumed they were preparing a table, but it became clear they weren’t. This breakdown in attentiveness left us feeling overlooked, and we ultimately decided to leave. Also, the music was very loud deteriorating the possibility to have a conversation. We hope the team can improve guest communication and responsiveness.
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the poor service. We waited an unreasonably long time to take our order, anlmost 45 mins to even get our drinks. Our server seemed inattentive and rushed, and basic requests like refilling water or correcting a mistake on the order were either delayed or forgotten. The food itself was fine, but the lack of professionalism and care from the staff completely overshadowed it. Unfortunately, the service alone is enough to make me hesitant to return or recommend this place to others.
