Authentic Greek restaurant on Miami Beach. Looks unassuming from the outside but the food is the star. We were a party of 9 who tried a variety of dishes and EVERYONE loved their dish. The shrimp pasta's sauce is dreamy and 3 in our party devoured it. They have daily specials that are very affordable and worth it. Our only pet peeve is that we were a bit hot in the restaurant but we were also seated by the large window and it is summer in Miami. We celebrated a birthday and were treated wonderfully. We will be back!

Hey, have you ever had a meal that ruined it for the rest of your life? A dish that was so good, it set you up for disappointment every time you tried it again? Well, for me, it was grilled octopus in Santorini, Greece. I had arguably the best grilled octopus in the world. The fish is locally caught from the depths of the volcanic caldera and sun-dried by the dock before they cook it. As most know, octopus needs to be boiled before it should be grilled (or cooked otherwise). It’s a dish easy to mess up; if you boil it for too long, it becomes rubbery, and if you don’t boil it long enough, it’s hard. For the most part, I brace for disappointment every time I order octopus at a restaurant because of the inevitable comparison with the Santorini perfection. But with the eternal optimism, I keep searching for perfection outside the Greek isles. Well, my search is over! Yesterday, as our first dish, we had octopus perfection at Poseidon Greek Seafood Restaurant. They grilled it and served it with lemon, Greek oregano-mint pesto, garbanzo beans, and a garlic / citrus alioli. For our entree, we picked from their extensive menu a traditional dish and one more unique to the chef’s liking. For the traditional dish, we had Moussaka made with Wagyu beef. It was prepared traditionally with layers of eggplant and zucchini topped with a rich béchamel sauce. The unique entree, which was a new selection for me, was cod fish meatballs (Youvarlakia). They served them in a deep, colorful clay plate over a bed of orzo in a cod fish broth with vegetables. The broth complemented the lightly breaded cod meatballs perfectly. Both the hearty Moussaka and the crispy Youvarlakia were exquisite, and I highly recommend them. For dessert, we had Bougatsa, which is a baked, crispy phyllo dough filled with cream custard, topped with cinnamon. It was served hot and à la mode. To end our dining adventure, we had a refreshing shot of Mastika. It’s a liqueur with a delightful pine or cedar-like taste. It’s made from the resin of the mastic tree, which is native to Greece. So, the next time you’re in Miami, skip the touristy restaurants on Ocean Drive South Beach and head over to Washington Avenue. You’ll find a culinary experience that’s worthy of requiring a passport. YAMAS!

This place is very cute inside. My favorites we had was the lamb gyro and the spicy feta dip. On a Friday night, it wasn't very busy so it would have been easy to get a table (and made it easy to have conversation as it wasn't super loud).

Food was very good and the decor was nice. Sandra was our waitress and she was awesome! We got the flaming cheese, world famous octopus, and Branzino. The octopus was delish, only gripe was hoping for a little bit more pieces! The cheese was a nice show you get with the flambé action table side! The branzino was also deboned and was nice and fresh. Check this place out if you want some seafood and Greek!

Frankly, it's very difficult to find such a delicious, clean, and stylish restaurant in America. Speaking as a Turk, I felt like I was in a Turkish restaurant. But it's a Greek restaurant, and Greeks and Turks are always in competition. As a Turk, I give this Greek restaurant 5 stars. It's amazing. I highly recommend it to everyone. The establishment is wonderful, the staff is great, and the prices are fantastic.

The food, the vibes and the hosts are just so amazing here! We ordered scallops, octopus, lobster risotto and mussels. I loved the octopus (the best I have had so far!) and the scallops were just as exquisite. The drinks here are amazing, oh and ask for “Rakija” - it’s a Greek version of moonshine. It’s a really great drink, and also a staff favorite. The owner came and poured me an extra drink on the house since he saw how much I was enjoying and appreciating the drink! It was such a welcome experience!!

The best. Hard to explain how I feel about this place. Just imagine, I'm living in LA and waiting to comeback to Miami to eat here again. All dishes we took has their own bright style and taste. Beautiful presentation of dishes, there is no portions like for a 🐷. Sauce, seasoning , you feel that chef really work on his menu. I remember every dishes I tried there, unforgettable taste. Shrimp with cotton candy it's gastronomic orgasm. Octopus the same thing. But this restaurant also had disadvantages. After their octopus there is no chance you'll find something better in different restaurants 😭 You're genius guys, if you'll open a restaurant in LA I'll be your first guest👏👏 Thanks for your job.

This was our second time here and once again, did not disappoint. While a less extensive menu compared to other places, they focus on doing everything very well. My wife and I shared a mezze platter to start and it was all very fresh and tasty. I then had the Branzino which was succulent and cooked perfectly. It comes whole and de-boned table side. The service was very welcoming and friendly. Although not inexpensive, we’d consider a return.

From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome and inviting décor set the stage for a memorable meal. The seafood selection here truly stands out. Konstantin was our Amazing waiter, beautiful place and most amazing food, we started with the world famous octopus, then a Greek salad, we shared a fish, they deboned it for us at the table, then for desert this custard filled sort of pilo doe with cinnamon and vanilla ice cream that was an amazing food experience!!! Really really good food!!! I was so glad to have tried this when i visited Miami. It was walking distance to our hotel so I decided to come here. They have really exceeded my expectations. Even from the starter breads, this place has impressed me right away. They were unique and very tasty! We ordered an octopus appetizer and a seafood risotto for 2. Best meal we've had in Miami all week. Food A+, Service A+, Atmosphere A+. Every dish was seasoned to perfection and crave worthy. They accommodated my gluten free dietary restriction with easy grace. We tried the octopus appetizer and a baked houlumi cheese appetizer that wasn't on the menu. For dinner I had the tuna and my husband had the red snapper. His was just a hint overcooked but mine was melt-in-the mouth perfect. Be warned, THE SERVING SIZES ARE GENEROUS.

We were undecided about where to eat until we passed in front of this place and Sandra warmly welcomed us and convinced us to eat there. She promised a great meal and did not disappoint. The food and drinks were amazing, the vibe of the place and the great attention by the staff made us want to return the next time we're on Miami.

This restaurant is outstanding!!! I got the scallops and they are the best I've ever had! The sauce served with them was delicious! It was the perfect size of food. The staff were all amazing- they made sure our water glasses were constantly filled and our waiter asked us our names and he referred to us by our names the whole night. We sat outside and they had a cute overhang of lights. The overall experience was exceptional!

We went here for dinner and the food was fantastic. The portions were good sized. The owner was very nice and personally greeted us at the street and welcomed us in. I got the lamb chops and my wife got the orange sea scallops. Both were excellent. The assorted Greek Spread and Pita Platter starter was good as well.

absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious but the best part was Sandra with some of the best service and hospitality i have ever had at a restaurant. She answered any questions we had with a lot of knowledge and patience and said they could modify almost any dish to be gluten free. The award winning octopus appetizer was DELICIOUS. GET IT. also got the scallops branzino yummy as well. For dessert we got the orange pie as Sandra recommend and wow, thr texture was soo chewy you could tell it’s been marinating in the orange for a while. I could have like 3 orders. Ambiance was very nice as well. i will definitely be back !

While I was walking my way to the hotel I saw this cafe, I found this cafe and saw their offer hookah and drink for 28$ which I didn’t find this price any where else in Miami. A lady called Sandra who works there received us friendly and greeted us warmly. She offered us a good table and Turkish coffee with the hookah. I recommend this place to pass by for some time and have a coffee or drink along with your way.

The presentation of the food was amazing and the taste was some of the best we’ve ever had! Absolutely a must of you like great food. Staff is incredible and very hospitable. Inside and outside is kind of a swanky vibe with ambient lighting. Beautiful pictures of the Greek Coast. The appetizer, flaming cheese, was hot, crispy and gooey. Seafood, lobster & shrimp, was fresh and cooked to the perfect temp. Definately a must try.

Go see Konstantin, he is full life and amazing. I come to Miami literally to have the best Greek food from this spot the first thing I said when I landed is I’m going Poseidon for octopus!!!!! (Wife was mad) when we met our server our experience got enhanced!!!! Aside from the award winning food the server that deserves an award!! This restaurant is one of the best meals on South Beach. Its location is deceiving as it's a storefront with a small patio but the food and service is top notch - the best. Try the Octopus or the Branzino. It's also extremely reasonably priced for the quality of food!

Came here with friends and enjoyed every bit of this restaurant, from the friendly service to the delicious food. Everything taste fresh, the fried octopus was my favorite, and it was my frist time having it and did not dissapoint , just make sure to paired it with a nice white wine to make it just right. The manager and staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had the Seafood Pasta special and it was perfect! Plenty of seafood in the dish. I tasted Chef Demetrios' food seven years ago at a festival in Gainesville, Fl. I loved his food! After raving about his food to my sister for years, we finally made it to his restaurant in South Beach for a birthday celebration. The food was rated a 10 / 10 by everyone! And most guests were trying Greek food for the first time. The seafood was fresh, well seasoned with great flavors. Our table had the octopus, shrimp saganiki, fish burger, grilled oysters, scallops, NY strip steak, branzino, and lobster roll. The restaurant also kindly brought out cheese cake with a candle for my sister's birthday. The staff was very welcoming. I'll definitely be back!

Needed a quick lunch while at work on Tuesday and popped in. It's a really pretty restaurant. The Tuesday special was a gyro, choice of lamb or chicken. I had the lamb. Really good. Nice and soft pita, lots of meat, salad and tzaziki. They got it to me really quickly, too. The price was right. Next time I'll try to chicken gyro.

Poseidon is a fantastic Greek restaurant that specializes in the freshest seafood and fish prepared excellently, featuring traditional Greek and Mediterranean recipes with a nouvelle flair. The grilled octopus was some of the best I've had outside Greece, soft and tender on the inside while crispy on the outside. The fried seafood platter was a generous assortment of thick, juicy pieces of calamari and shrimp. The monastery seafood pasta dish was likewise delicious, the shrimp tasting like they just came from the sea and the tomato sauce fresh and delicately seasoned with fresh herbs and olive oil imported from the owners' family olive groves in Kalamata. The Greek salad was a true horiatiki, the cucumbers, olives, onions, feta and tomatoes tasting just like you were eating it in a taverna in Greece. Once again, we ate too much to leave room for dessert but the Greek coffee was the perfect finish to such a wonderful meal. The reception from chef Dimitris and his brother, Vasilis, was as warm and welcoming as it could possibly be and our server, Argyris, was extremely warm, friendly and attentive as well. All in all, a wonderful restaurant with exquistite dishes, beautifully run by a lovely family and staff. You will leave already planning out your next visit back.

I actually entered this restaurant by accident while heading to the place next door..but I’m so glad I did. Alhamdulilah! From the moment I walked in, the server was kind and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the Whole Branzino, and it was outstanding!!!! Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and so fresh. I really appreciate the chef! 100/10. Highly recommend to try that dish. Fyi; special discount on Sundays for $25 only. I rarely leave Google reviews, but this one was well deserved.

Absolutely amazing!! Perfect date night while in town in Miami. Everything was delicious and made from scratch and fresh. Service was top notch and the atmosphere was great. Domaldes are not listed on the menu but they have them and they were the best I've had. The tzatziki sauce was fabulous.

Oh my gosh wow, what a gem in South Beach!. The octopus and Greek salad were out of this world.. the pita too! Baklava ice cream was the perfect dessert to tie it all up at the end. The servers were incredibly friendly and attentive. Wow I'm so impressed guys.. What a fantastic meal!!! Thank you so much for making up for all the other lack luster meals we ate during our time in South Beach ⛱️ the best Greek food we've had in a long long time!!

I tasted Chef Demetrios' food seven years ago at a festival in Gainesville, Fl. I loved his food! After raving about his food to my sister for years, we finally made it to his restaurant in South Beach for a birthday celebration. The food was rated a 10 / 10 by everyone! And most guests were trying Greek food for the first time. The seafood was fresh, well seasoned with great flavors. Our table had the octopus, shrimp saganiki, fish burger, grilled oysters, scallops, NY strip steak, branzino, and lobster roll. The restaurant also kindly brought out cheese cake with a candle for my sister's birthday. The staff was very welcoming. I'll definitely be back!

The manager and staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had the Seafood Pasta special and it was perfect! Plenty of seafood in the dish. I grew up on the east coast and appreciate that shellfish is easy to overcook but they cooked it perfectly, and the Pasta as well! Very nice atmosphere and great house cocktails. We thought everything was very good value for the money.

Poseidon is my new favorite restaurant in South Beach! I tried a bit of everything. The Greek salad was amazing, love the big hunk of smooth feta on the top and the delicate herbs. The spanikopita was presented in a traditional spiral and was delicious, but the flavors just didn't pop. The moussaka has perfect composition and structure, but totally lacking in spicy flavors that make moussaka moussaka. The bechamel was totally bland. The leg of lamb was perfection, as was the baklava. All this washed down with a couple of shots of ouzo makes for a great meal! I would recommend swapping out the reggaeton for some Greek music to create a better ambiance.

I went here pre workout and had the Florida Grouper and a shrimp appetizer that had cotton candy on the top of it. I haven't had cotton candy in double digit years. Anyway the food was good. The 19% added to the check doesn't leave much incentive to do good service. I had to walk to the waiter and get my full order in instead of the reverse. He got the initial appetizer. Anyway the restaurant looks nice and the food is good. I do recommend

Very friendly and nice atmosphere. The food was delicious, shrimp and scallops are cooked perfectly making them very meaty. They were even willing to make a special pasta with lobster just for me. Piña colada was one of the best in my life (and also huge). After service fee of 20% you’re also asked to give an extra tip that would go to the waiter. That cheapens the experience so much.

The restaurant looks nice and they people are friendly. And though the food is beautiful, eating it was less than desirable. My sea scallops were way over cooked and tough. And the flavors were not hitting for me. An ok experience but I’ll go next door to the Thai place next time.

The owner was friendly. The food was subpar. We eat a lot of Mediterranean food so maybe the bar is a bit higher for us. The prices did not match the quality.

Diner beware! The food and drinks were good, but sneaky business practices take it off my list. The bill had a 20% "service charge" and then when I got the credit card slip, they were asking for another 15-20-25% tip! NOT labelled extra tip. That left a bad taste.

I guess I shouldn't have expected anything different from a typical Miami Beach restaurant. Everything was overpriced on their regular menu, so I decided to get the Lamb gyro on their daily specials menu. It tasted about the same as I would get from a gyro stand at a farmer's market, but at least they gave a good sized portion of the sides of salad and fries. Their tzaziki was good, but nothing spectacular. Attentive service and outside seating area was nicely decorated in a Mediterranean vibe.

The food was great, particularly the spices and the feta cheese used on the salad. However - and even taking into account the touristic location - the price was super high. $50 for a lunch of salad and iced tea was excessive. No alcohol or meat. There were plastic tables and chairs … this place is just overcharging Not helped by the 20% and other fees, then met with a line on top of that - for tip.

Disappointed. The mussels they served were not all open. The lobster was a little dry, but the herb butter was excellent. We ordered the herb crusted lamb legs as our main entrees. There wasn’t a good crust, and the lamb tasted gamey. The only redeeming quality of this restaurant was the service and moderately priced cocktails. Overall, we spent over $400 to be disappointed and worried about food sickness from the mussels

Not authentic at all! Went there because of reviews. However, was very disappointed. Food is even not to close to original Greek, even Greek salad which comes with white onions and only tomatoes with olives?! I tried orange Scallops which were very plain, no sauce except that mayo put in plate as a decoration, which decoration didn't eat. This place is very pretentious to upscale with it's kinda "decor", copying French and Italian dishes, but is even not close to it, also menu items are overpriced even for Miami. Better it will be just real simple Greek food instead. And funny thing, their manager took my check with card inside and asked how was the food after he charged my card and when I was about to go. If you looking for tasty Greek food is not here.

I wanted to like this place but everything I had was very disappointing. I ordered the spiced mussels, half dozen of oysters, and scallops. The scallops I had to send back because they were very over cooked. The oysters and mussels were definitely underwhelming but I went ahead and ate them… big mistake. Less than 2 hours I was bringing it all back up. My friends both enjoyed their meals, so maybe I picked the wrong items on the menu. The employees are very nice but I can’t overlook getting sick because of the food.

The grilled octopus was nice but the rest of the fish preparation was terrible. Zero flavours, the fish was not cleaned at all inside and was not at all appealing. We didnt even eat and had to leave. Just terrible. Highly disappointed.

DO NOT EAT HERE! If you're looking for frozen shrimp, and scallops in Miami, I suggest this place. Also, the reviews are fake. It was dead on a Saturday night, and that should've been a telling sign. Ordered shrimp as an appetizer and tasted a little over cooked. Wasn't bad. Decided to order scallops, presentation is nice, but take a bite and the herbs over power what should be sweetness in the scallop, but that wasn't the case either. Told my buddy to scrape it off before taking a bite, and he said it didn't taste like a scallop should, with a nice sear, sweetness and melt in your mouth. They had no sear, and were overcooked, which told me they were frozen, not fresh. The inconsistent cook through the scallop also meant they were frozen. We gave the food back, and left. The chef didn't come talk to us, or anything which was another telling sign of the experience you can expect here. 0/10 do not recommend.

In all these years, I think the worst experience I've had was the cold food. A Branzio they offer with something, but it's just poorly presented fish with no accompaniment. The service was terrible, with only one person providing bad service. The napkins looked used, and the bathrooms were dirty. And on top of all that, they add extra charges like a 3% CCFER? I don't recommend it. Washington Avenue has really fallen into disrepair.

There is absolutely no way these folks don't know what's wrong with their food. Minor mistakes happen, but for literally every bite to be *that* bad has to be a known issue. It's not my dining partner and my palates that have this wrong. We saw the discussion about our barely-eaten food. They know. In response to the inquiry below: appetizer was tuna tartare, entrees were snapper and scallops. Since everyone else was eating the Monday steak frites special, this should be easy to identify. Also, our plates were the ones half eaten being discussed.
