At Grinder Steep, we're proud to be a part of Middletown's vibrant community, nestled in an old gas station that's been transformed into a warm and welcoming haven. Our café serves up delicious breakfast treats and specialty coffee drinks made from high-quality beans, with a particular focus on great tea selection. We've worked hard to create an inviting atmosphere where friends and neighbors can gather over a cup of joe or a sweet pastry. With outdoor seating, takeout options, and wheelchair accessibility, we strive to be inclusive and convenient for all visitors. Our friendly staff are always smiling and happy to chat with you as they serve up fresh donuts, baked goods, and expertly crafted beverages. Eureka! Finally a good apple fritter! I had given up hope that they even exist anymore and that anyone remembered that they’re supposed to have apple bits and lots of cinnamon and not be oily, and not donuty, and soft and fresh inside with a crunchy sweet outside. Thank you Grinders! Plus excellent customer service and amazing oat milk mochas! Support great local business!! ❤️
This place is amazing! I had a very delicious cafe mocha with oat milk. It is a hidden gem in Middletown.
I adore this coffee shop, which has made its home in an old gas station in the heart of a Middletown. Every time I stay in Middletown to visit Harbin, I start my day by walking to Grinders Steep and ordering an iced latte with whip and an extra shot with oat milk - perfection (also very reasonably priced). The vibe is always friendly and you can tell they have a great relationship with all the locals that frequent the shop, but you’re just as welcome as a traveler.

Since I discovered Grinders they have been my pick me up on our way out of town. A must stop place for my husband and I. The people working their and the owner always have smiles on their faces. My sister in-law will drive specifically to them for there amazing coffee. I definitely recommend anyone to try this place. My favorite go to drink is a blended sweetthooth.

Love this place, it is very very hard to find a good cup of coffee, a latte or mocha, that is constantly delicious. I like this place because it is always consistent no matter who is working , your getting the same flavor. Delicious and great job
I've been there a few times now. Great service and prices. Today tho, I saw the most beautiful eyes I've seen in a long time. She was tall with red tint, jeans white shirt, pink jacket, nice smile... but those eyes, WOW !
Great coffee at a reasonable price
This coffee shop has great employees who can keep up with rushes of people. They are terrific behind the counter, great lattes, fresh donuts, always served up as fast as humanly possible. The grinders Steep team is the best!
They make great oat vanilla lattes.

This coffee shop has good Lattes and really yummy apple fritters. The drip coffee is lacking unfortunately. However, we had an enjoyable time at Grinders Steep.

A consistently good latte. For special treats, the Mexican Mocha is delicious, as are any of the other specials I've tried here. I remember a caramel one being particularly good, but once I discovered the Mexican Mocha, I found the one.

They don't serve food, but have donuts and other snacks. I liked the atmosphere very mellow and peaceful, ( although small place ) it was nice. The girls that were working were nice as well.

Coffee was great, but she served two people ahead of me that came in after me, making me wait 25 minutes to get my iced espresso. Then she forgot the sweetener and the ice.

Was going to stop at Starbucks in Clearlake before heading down to Santa Rosa and I figured I would stop here instead, as everyone said it was the best. One person ahead of me with multiple drinks and only 1 girl working, which was fine. Took our order, cold brew w/pumpkin spice and SPLASH of milk, and hot cocoa for the kiddo. Pretty easy right? Got in car and started to drive away and our drinks were literally water. Both of them. So disappointed :( Wanted to like them but come on really? I think she thought maybe I had an attitude or something? Sorry I have RBF. Sorry to say wont be back.
Arrived at 9 AM asked for drip coffee. They said they’re all out and they won’t have more until tomorrow. I skipped three other coffee shops on my way here. I’ll never come back. It’s not a real coffee shop.
I was really looking forward to trying Grinders Steep Coffee because it’s in a great location. Unfortunately, the inside of the shop was not clean at all. There were cobwebs in several places, dusty windows and walls, and the floors looked like they hadn’t been swept or moped in a while. What concerned me most was the visible dust on the coffee mugs and the dirty condition of the flavor syrup pumps. These are things that customers come into direct contact with, so cleanliness is really important. The concept of this place has a lot of potential, but it definitely needs a deep clean and regular upkeep to create a welcoming and sanitary environment. I hope the owners take the time to address this, because it could be a great spot with a little more attention to cleanliness
