Such an amazing atmosphere! Great music, food, coffee and exquisite customer service! ❤️
Equator is a great local coffee roaster / cafe chain. The Mill Valley location (Shoreline) is nice but I prefer Lakrspur
I had the chai tea and my wife had a mocha. Both were good, I felt the chai could have been more spicy, but I always say that. The banana bread was also very good. Service was very quick and friendly.
One of the most consistent lattes out there. Music is always fun and we try to visit as often as we can. The patio is great when the weather is nice to sip coffee and hang out.
Delicious coffee, great location, parking available 80% of the time. Not crazy expensive but not cheap (~$5 for a cappuccino). Workers are cool, and after 1600 pastries are half off!
My favorite place to get coffee and I live on the other side of Marin! They have the best Vanilla lattes ever and use top notch good quality coffee beans, the team is also awesome at this location.
This is one of the better establishments in the town.
This place is such a little gem. Cosy and warm inside, lovely decor and merchandise for sale. Good clean toilet. Coffee is fantastic and good was nice. Price was very reasonable for the area. Doh friendly which I love, great spot to get coffee before visiting Muir Woods or anywhere on this penisula! It was very busy so a small wait, nothing too dramatic though... Thank you
I love this shop. So what if there’s a line sometimes. It’s a place to take your time. Only thing I don’t like about Equator coffee is that it makes it hard to accept the low grade coffees I have to drink when I travel outside of the Bay Area. This coffee is just so well balanced and good.
This is my favorite coffee shop and has AMAZING customer service. They have plenty of non-dairy options (including oatmilk! Yum!), they also have a very chill surfer ambiance in there as well so it's a very casual so you feel very at home and they always remember your name after you've visited a few times. Love, love, love!
Their coffee is of course always the best but this has got to be one of Equator's coolest locations, what with the board crowd that gathers there. The succulent garden down the middle of the table in the front is beautiful and there's good seating out in the back too. Some of the amazing plants come from the nursery next door. The seasonal pumpkin bread on right now is terrific!
Lovely local coffee shop with excellent pour overs, really good bagels and scones, nice music, very friendly service, local artwork on the walls, and a nice atmosphere.
Coffee was fantastic and the vibe is so cool. Love the theme and lots of seating worked in
There is a limited amount of parking available in the lot. Their service was very fast and the veggie scone I ate was delicious. There was good music playing while we ate, and the atmosphere of this place was fantastic. I would come back here anytime to grab another Iced Chai.
Delicious coffee and a great to go option. Not a tom of seating and lots of traffic through Tam junction. Clothing/surf shops across the parking lot are awesome to walk through while you sip.
They have the most delicious non-dairy cappuccinos and lattes they make with homemade cashew milk. And they have a wide variety of vegan breakfast oats, coconut yogurt, and bars. We stopped by before hiking in Muir Woods and were so glad we did. Grab coffee and breakfast to go and enjoy a picnic breakfast in the woods! Vegans rejoice!
Love the decor, the coffee, they serve Oatly! Brand oat milk! Loved it in Sweden, love to see someone using quality product like that here. Delicious pastry, bike friendly w a nice rack, next to surf shop and dog friendly with outside seating.
Their Colombian coffee is really good. Great seating space and service excellent
Dragged here by a friend who's a local, and I loved this place. It's not just a coffee shop, it's a bunch of businesses together. Grab a coffee and check out the surf shop, an amazing nursery full of sculptures, a couple of clothing stores, and I think they were opening a pub ... it wasn't finished
My wife and I got two hot 10oz lattes - one with cashew milk and the other with oat. Some of the best lattes we've ever had. Baristas were friendly as well. They offer snacks that appeal to everyone on the food diet spectrum, ie - vegan protein bars, salads, and pastries. The lines seem long but go pretty fast.
This place has the best coffee and pastries I’ve ever had! Absolute gem of a place and the baristas are truly amazing! Will be back again and again!♾️
Funky little spot, with larger parking lot in back. Went there for the lavender latte and was very happy with the gentle flavor and creamy texture. Didn't try any of the baked goods, but nice selection of pastries.
The coolest coffee shop in the Bay Area, IMHO. I've been going here since it opened and the coffee has stayed OG and super good. The vibe remains classic Marin -- surf, Sun, bike and chill. The art on the walls is superb -- my favorite surf picture from OB. I love this place.
skinny cortado was excellent - smooth and pack a punch
One of the best coffees I’ve had in years. This is the stuff of why coffee is so delicious - not that horror inducing brown water in most places across America. Had the cold brew shaken with cream, and no sweetener. Coffee flavor shone, and perfectly complemented by the richness of the cream (which I understand is house made and certainly tastes like it). Gluten free financier was also delicious and perfect size for a snack.
Sweet bustling coffee shop with delicious offerings, friendly staff, and a space a tad too small for its popularity. I stepped into a line that looked intimidating - starting at the backdoor - but moving quickly and efficiently. I overheard the folks in front of me quoted a 15 minute wait for their coffees upon placing their orders, so I treated myself to an almond croissant to enjoy while I waited for my oat milk lavender latte. As I sat outside, enjoying my croissant in the beauty of the day, I witnessed many people walk in and walk out in a huff - some declaring they were going to Starbucks instead. I hadn't yet finished my pastry by the time my latte was ready, and it was worth the wait. Smooth and velvety, hints of lavender complemented instead of overwhelmed the oat milk concoction, and it wasn't too sweet - something many other big-name shops tend to disappointingly gravitate towards. I sipped on it while people-watching under a cloudless blue sky while I finished my croissant. This is a place best enjoyed when you have a little time to spend, not if you're in a hurry.
The two young men behind the counter were outstanding. Eager to help and the smile on their faces made my day better. My go to was usually a vanilla latte, now it’s a cappuccino. You could really taste the love!
Been a few times. Good cappuccino
This is my favorite coffee spot in Mill Valley. It’s super convenient to order via the app. Their lattes with almond milk are super good. They have single origin beans. Also I love the frittata breakfast sandwiches. Oh and Johny Donuts on Fridays and Saturdays!
Good coffee. Deciding to revel in my fatness, I got a croissant and one of their giant donuts. The donut was a little different than usual - a little less fluffy and more substantial. That is not a knock at all...It was amazing, but it was just a tiny bit different, which was great. I had the croissant for lunch (feeling guilty about revelling in my fatness) and that was amazing. Definitely recommend this place!
It's a coffee shop. They do offer actual cups or you can bring your own, which is nice. The Junction location only has baked goods, but the downtown MV location has great avocado toast.
I get coffee here probably once a week on average if you like habibi's they make the best one
Delicious coffee. Free stickers. Yogurt parfait was very good. The maple scone disintegrates into a fine powder though. Not my favorite texture, but the flavor is good. Overall top notch, especially the mass of moms in beanies and deck jackets sharing a morning coffee in 42 degree weather, who mean mug you as you park your car. Roughing it in Marin!
This coffee spot is a cool place to quench your caffeine fix. The beach vibe is what will set this place apart from just grabbing a cup of Joe. Cashier and Batista were genuinely friendly. I'll be back.
I got the vanilla latte with vanilla cold foam, habibi latte and shakerato. All of the drinks were absolutely delicious. The coffee it’s very smooth and good quality. They sell coffee beans that are single origin. The entire vibes inside is very cool with the surf boards.
Great place to stop for a coffee before going cruising on highway 1. They nail the surf shop/coffee shop vibe. Seating available outside to enjoy the Sun. My iced cappuccino was delicious. My order was made fairly quickly considering how busy they were.
Almond croissant is the best I’ve ever had! Very rich. Also got the habibi latte. Would 100% go back!
We loved the little coffee store right next to 101. Getting in and out could be tricky based on the traffic but the delicious coffee makes up for it It’s hard to find a good oat milk latte and most baristas tell me that they can’t get froth with oat milk. But wow, the oatmilk honey latte they made for us was one of the best drinks I have had in California. Thank you for a simply amazing cup of coffee! Also the store is so cute and the seating and location too.
Very small but not very crowded coffee shop. At 2 pm Saturday they were out of pastries but for my luck I snatched a good one from Sun&Cellar pop up truck right on the corner of Tennessee road. Latte was solid as usual at Equator. With pastry it was an amazing combination, waiting time was around 9 mins, ig you haven't order through their app, you have a chance to get a first one on the house. Enjoy!
I had a coffee lavender latte, it is under the speciality latte it was fantastic. They only have two sizes, either small or large. Overall 9.5/10❤️
Loved the pumpkin spice latte. It was sweet, warm and flavorful. The aroma was good as well. The staff were kind. The baked goods looked great. Will try next time. You can buy branded goods here.
One of the best cold brews I’ve ever had. I recommend the plain brew with no syrup/flavoring - totally smooth and perfect as is. 👌
Grabbed coffee and a cardamon & chocolate croissant before my hike and it was divine. As an east coaster, I wish this was my local coffee shop.
Super cute place that is very popular, especially with cyclists. Service was a bit slow as it was busy, but overall the staff were friendly and my lavender and vanilla latte was super yummy!
Love their coffee. This a very cute coffee shop which you can stop by for coffee besides small gift shop

Lovely coffee shop in Mill Valley! The mocha was great and the staff lovely as well. I tried one of their scones too and it was great. Nice outdoor seating area as well and would recommend to anyone staying in the area or passing through!

The orange cream coffee and ube croissant WERE SO freaking GOOD IM GONNA GO BACK EVERY DAY😎
This is probably the best place to get a cup of coffee in Mill Valley. The coffee quality is excellent. The vibe inside is your typical PNW/West Coast progressive, which certainly isn’t my cup of tea, but I never felt ostracized while patronizing the place. That’s actually why I want to leave a good review, because I often look like a target for progressive attack, but they’re actually inclusive enough to be friendly and helpful to me! The coffee quality alone in the offerings are enough to recommend them, but the service is what brings them to the top, in my opinion.
Been going here since they opened years and years ago. Quality has stayed top tier. Equator is excellent. Love their breve cappuccino. Decent pastry selection. Friendly and helpful staff this morning. Thank you all. Sometimes has long waits when they get busy, but 💯 worth the wait

The atmosphere and staff are both great. I had an americano and a almond flower apple tort. Very tasty! I would go again and recommend it to any traveler.
The line can be long, and the wait for your coffee can be even longer, but the staff is honest about how long drinks will take... On a weekend this place is packed so be prepared to wait, but pastries and cold brew can be in your hand as soon as you pay!
Really great coffee, is there anything else you really need to know? A few highlights. 1. it shares space with Proof Lab, a great local surf shop 2. nice outdoor seating 3. decent food 4. it can be a bit of a pain to reach on weekend with beach traffic 5. plenty of parking If you make the trip, be sure to get the vanilla latte, just outstanding!
Really lovely coffee shop to enjoy on the way up Muir Woods or point Reyes. Cyclists enjoying lattes. Dogs and their owners scarfing down doughnuts. Scones were nice but banana bread was nicer. Ham n Swiss croissant got me to an early lunch!
Super good but be sure to order ahead on the app (extra hot) because the line can be killer due to how popular it is! If your order there especially during a busy time (eg Saturday late morning) expect to be chilling there for a minute! The coffee is great but it can be hit or miss depending on the barista, but most are awesome! ☀️
Cool place. The coffee is really good, but not quite my style roast. Reasonably priced food and great location. So great to have a local spot. Plus the surrounding shops are cool and good walk up and parking
This is such a chill spot and perfect for people and high end bicycle watching. The Lycra and aero helmet crowd use this as a refueling stop before crossing back over the bridge. Mid-level latte art in maybe 5 visits. The latte was yummy, the art pretty 3 out of 5. The coffee is tasty and probably upper third in the crowded specialty coffee space. Will return
Solid espresso and pastries. Hard to find parking. My biggest gripe is the temperature of the coffee. Might seem like a small detail but a shop like this should be able to know what temperature goes with what drink. I shouldn't be getting burning hot cortados or cappuccinos. Americanos or even a latte I can understand but I had to wait 10-15 minutes before even being able to sip my cappuccinos multiple times. I just end up getting iced lattes or espresso instead. Decent place with consistent flavor.
Great coffee and good pastries (pull apart savory and chocolate croissants are delicious), there’s parking, it’s got a nice surfer vibe, could use an additional restroom as there was a line for the bathroom and for getting coffee, too.
We’ve been here once before, and my husband really enjoys their coffee and almond croissant, so this time we tried a coffee along with almond and chocolate croissants. Everything was fresh and delicious! The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Definitely a cozy spot worth revisiting.
Latte was excellent 👌 very cool vibe. Hope to get there for the fantastic coffee and purchase a T-shirt.

Cute little coffee shop in an interesting park of town. Very busy with good vibes. I’d definitely go again if I’m in the area

Good pastry options from various local bakeries including Rustic Bakery. No bathroom here. Hard to notice from the road and enter/exit isn't easy. Coffee is good, but not my favorite.
Nice little cafe, but the person working there seemed pretty unenthusiastic about getting me a coffee. Didn't give me the sparkling water she offered, complained that I asked for half and half in my drink without up charging me (muttering under her breath), and then made my drink wrong after I specified several times that I didn't want ice, she put ice in it. Not sure why all that's necessary.
LOVE the coffee DO NOT love the staff. Staff members were very rude. They rolled their eyes at me when I asked for my coffee in a to go cup. Also watched them roll their eyes at a bunch of other customers who were not rude to them at all and had a simple question or request. Always loved their coffee, but will most likely not return to this location due to poor customer service
Coffee was excellent. The person taking our order on Monday 10/21 gave off a bizarre vibe, and very odd tone. I asked about a drink with an obscure name (there was no description on the menu), hoping to learn what was in it or perhaps something about the taste. She responded by saying it was their “signature drink” and wouldn’t give any further information. We decided to order other drinks and it was unclear whether she was listening and what judgment she was making on us. Overall quite off putting and would not visit again if I had to give her my order!
Waited 20 minutes for a coffee while a slew of online/app orders were processed. Such a bummer as I love the location and they do a nice Joe, but the cafe experience has gone down the well. There has to be a way of prioritizing in-person orders, for example just give the staff the freedom to do so as appropriate. Coffee’s meant to be asked for and received quickly, and hot, not ordered like a meal and delivered only long after the thought of “a coffee would be nice” has long since dissipated.
Hey friends! This review is about sustainability only. ☺️ By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. While i am delighted to see that you are a B lab member who is working at chipping away at his problem, I was kind of sad to see that most of the folks in here working or meeting with friends are drinking out of single-use to-go cups. I understand that the to-go cups you provide are technically compostable, but without any real composting infrastructure on site, these will go straight to the landfill or ocean as well. It looks like you just have one trashcan collecting everything, and just because something is “compostable” doesn’t mean it actually gets processed as such. I wonder if to start, you could better communicate to folks who are staying to have their coffee that they have the reusable option of the mug. Maybe it’s as simple as asking, are you going to be having your coffee here? I also wonder if you might be able to provide a separate receptacle for the compostable cups. And work with some entity in the county to pick up said composting. I love that you don’t sell any plastic bottled water, so kudos on that! And if my observations are wrong, then I stand corrected! But I think as a surf-related, ocean-adjacent, B lab coffee shop, you could interact with customers accordingly to make sure they are aware of—and are normalizing—the for-here, reusable option. Thank you for your consideration, and for the delicious coffee!

Teas were disappointing. The seasonal strawberry Matcha cream was just water and two drops of strawberry cream. Very bland chai latte. On another note Croissants were fluffy and buttery.
My wife had an iced vanilla latte and she loved it. Black coffee was strong but good. The staff was not friendly nor helpful at all potentially because we came close to closing time. Prices were high for what you get.
The pastry was meh. Not worth the calories. Would have been a lot better if heated, but they won't heat it up. Only bagels get heated. He didn't ask if I wanted my coffee for here or to go.
They have croissants but no oven to heat it…. They have drinks but most of them doesn’t come in larger cups (correction here it was expresso shot, which I wasn’t even informed when I asked for a 10oz)… a lot of opportunities and potential in this place, great croissants BTW…. But I don’t think I got my money’s worth… I hope whoever visits here read clearly what’s the menu, cos I guess the girls won’t help you out here…
I got really excited when I saw house made chai on their menu! Unfortunately, it was super disappointed. It was the most bland chai latte I have ever had. It was slightly seasoned milk. I wish I realized sooner before I left the store to ask them to remake it. :(
Get your employees proper airflow and cooling in the shop. They are standing in the sun next to boilers all day. As a customer it was uncomfortable just to walk inside (I'm a welder so I'm use to the heat). Really disgraceful that such a large company wouldn't be able to prioritize the health and safety of their staff.
Unfortunately it is the 5th time that my coffee is terrible, milk tastes burnt and my coffee is super hot and what to talk about the texture of the very watery milk the worst coffee, before it was very good one of my favorites I hope you can train your baristas so that the quality from before
while it used to be good coffee and the barista/staff are nice and this location does not have so many of the arrogant mill valley persons. the coffee is not so good anymore. i would also avoid buying any of the bagged coffee, at the cafe or online as it may be old and moldy, some of it made us sick. the curated subscriptions are also now a bit of a scam as you will likely receive the same olds, the bulk oldest and cheapest, over and over again.
Have been to multiple Equator locations and baristas are usually nice and drinks consistent. Unfortunately, this one did need meet usual standards. The seasonal drink tasted a bit diluted so we simply asked to confirm the drink we ordered (not expressing any dissatisfaction with the drink). I have had think drink before from Equator at a different location before so wanted a simple confirmation. But was met with a curt response from the barista with dyed red highlights, who essentially assumed our dissatisfaction with the drink and blamed us for choosing oat milk as the base causing the drink the taste the way it did. Restrooms also had urine all over the floor and no toilet paper; we were actually redirected by the staff to go to hook fish to use the restroom. Overall not a great experience that I usually have at other Equators.
How hard is it to make a small decaf coffee with one shot of espresso? Starbucks got it right, too hard for this place! Even the remake was wrong, and it was expensive. I just want a coffee as black and bitter as my soul without feeling cracked out on caffeine, do I need to justify my drink to you? it's none of your concern, that's what I want. That tip I gave you, I'd like it back, bad job.
Edit: Not only was I lied to by the staff, but the management also lied to me and used me for more information. That is even worse, in my opinion. The staff is a reflection of the management. Stopped for coffee and snacks with friends over the weekend. I told the young lady in the front that I am vegetarian and was looking to confirm if their savory bun had meat. She looked at her book and said no. I ordered my drinks and food and was dismayed to find out there was HAM. I've not eaten meat since high school, and this was a shock. I went back inside to inform her that it had meat and her instant response was no, it doesn't. Then, she looked at her coworker to try and gaslight me into agreeing with her. They didn't even offer a replacement or refund.
I'm in this cafeteria and my experience was really terrible. I noticed that there are 4 to 5 employees working but they don't pay attention to the work. They talk a lot all the time and take an excessive amount of time to deliver the orders. They make the customers wait a long time and they don't pay attention to the takeout orders. I saw Uber drivers waiting for up to 20 minutes. The employees should pay more attention to the service.

Staff didn’t greet or smile, I was judged for my drink order so loudly my friend heard. The matcha is tasteless/watery. I wanted to love it because it seems to be such a popular spot in town but I would never come again
