Opinions de Prabh Indian Kitchen Mill Valley
Absolutely delicious! Very extended menu. The Tamarind dipping sauce was absolutely stunning. The garlic naan was excellent. The vegetable pakora was excellent. I could not recommend this place more highly!
Wonderful, just wonderful. Traditional, beautifully prepared dishes that arrive at the table steaming and redolent of high quality spices and ingredients. Professional, exacting service. Pirsig’s welder.
The food was superb! And the wait staff was very attentive. I highly recommend dining at this restaurant. I'd come there more often if I lived closer.
Amazing food. So many options to choose from. We ordered Paneer Tikka in Apetizers and it was so delicious. The taste is exactly the same as how you get in India. So far the best restaurants in CA for Indian cuisine. Cheers!
Loved the food. Outside patio seating is perfect. We had ordered - Paneer kebab/sizzler , Biryani and palak Chana. It was tasty. Parking is few blocks off this place.
Amidst this Covid situation, Prabh is a gem on the way to Muir Woods. We asked for mild food and unlike many Indian restaurants they understand how to make the food very flavorful without being hot. This includes the dal which my wife generally dislikes for its blandness but here it's quite good. The staff is friendly & helpful and the kheer that came with our meal was definitely addictive. Good job Prabh!
One of the most underrated Indian restaurants in this area. Loved the Lamb Thali and everything that came with it. Classic cooking without overdoing any of it. Definitely coming back whenever in this area.
This place is a unique blend of hospitality, ambience and taste. A combination of all these three charactristics is so rare for any Indian restaurant in the bay area! Food was authentic, staff was attentive and caring, and the restaurant was neatly decored. I am sure going to visit them over and over again!
Run, don't walk to this place! Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Steep flight of stairs to get into the dining room - it appears to be in a converted house. Festive atmosphere and delicious food.
The food was amazing! The garlic naan was full of flavor and crispy in the edges. The chicken tikka masala was tender and so was the lamb. The rice biryani was the best I have ever had. Loved it!
I’ve dined in a couple times, and had take out a couple times and it’s always delicious! Amazing naan! Wood fired and perfect texture. The food is full of aromatic spices, and I think each dish has a distinct flavor. I’ve mostly had vegetarian and chicken dishes, without dairy. I like that the menu specifies items with dairy and gluten so it’s easy for people to order. Fun, colorful ambiance. Relaxed in a good way. Walking up the stairs, you’re immediately greeted by a delicious enticing aroma! So, that’s definitely a bench mark for good Indian food for me. It’s also proper spicy, like Medium is good for me. And I like spicy! All around yum!
It was good to be at night around 9:00 PM, we ordered basmati rice ( that has been charged separately), paneer butter masala( was okay) and Dal tadka( very good). People are good and service is good too. Taste for the sabji ( curry ) was okay.
Extremely extremely thoughtful staff. Left something of mine and they reached out to me online to make sure I could get it back. They make a great vegetable samosa. I highly recommend the kormas, very flavorful.
This is not your typical Indian restaurant with the usual lunch steam table of predictable limited selections. There was a good variety of choices and the dishes we tried were fresh, featured fresh whole spices and were very nicely done. The setting is charming. The prices a little high but then you are in Mill Valley. The staff were great. All in all a very good lunch experience
Really nice place. Great food. Much of the food in downtown MV overpriced and mediocre, but this is one of the top 2 or 3 Indian restaurants in Marin County and worth a visit if you like Indian food and live in San Rafael. Samosa chaat is OUTSTANDING. More than just samosas. Must order.
Love that they use paper to-go bags and staple them shut with everything inside organized nicely. Kind atmosphere. Polite and efficient staff. Food is great, cooked to the right temperature, and portions are large. Clean. They have a street facing patio for outdoor seating. The patio is roomy and decorated with garland of colorful flowers that light up at night. It’s very picturesque. They’re also open 7 days a week until 10:00 pm (I believe even on holidays) and they’re located in downtown Mill Valley. I highly recommend exploring Mill Valley’s redwood magic with Prabh Indian Kitchen’s butter chicken and naan- day or night.
After moving to SF a few months ago, I had been looking for a good Indian restaurant. After searching around a bit for somewhere, I eventually found Prabh. I've been a few times now and the food has been great every time. The service is good as well. The wait staff is attentive and helpful. On my last trip there, the manager went out of his way to make my wife and I feel welcome. He even gave us a free dessert to try. All in all, this restaurant is the closest I've felt to being back in India in a long time. And that's a very good thing.
The food and ambiance was amazing! My girlfriend and I will definitely be back again! Very nice management and manager.
In late April, 2022, my wife and had a refreshing Mill Vally walk and an early dinner. We chose Prabh because more than one local friend recommended the food. I ordered the $19 Fish Curry and my wife the Lamb Curry. Both arrived piping hot and stayed warm in their insulated bowls with a tasty onion sauce. A $4.50 platter of perfectly preferred brown rice was quite enough and very delicious! Their whole service crew were very kind. We departed for another walk and were across the street when Mr. Dhindsa, the Owner/Manager found us. I had left my favorite sun hat on an empty chair.
Food was incredible - we had the tandoori chicken, lamb boti kebab masala, and vindaloo plus samosas and another appetizer. Delicious, great service, very reasonable prices. Would recommend!
The place serves authentic Punjabi food. I am surprised by 4.3 ratings. One of the very best food I had in bay area. We ordered kadhai paneer, gobhi manchurian and mixed veg. All the veggies were delicious. The naan was soft and crisp. Must visit place for anyone looking for Indian food.
Many of the low reviews on here are spam written by people recommending competing restaurants. Prabh is a great place, being British I can tell when the food has quality and the vegan/vegetarian options are tasty. Better than any curry house in London, best in the Bay Area by far
One of the best Indian restaurants in the valley. Hidden location and hence not very crowded. Very polite and friendly staff and great flavourful food. Must try their butter chicken and for dessert the Kulfi was awesome. Highly recommend!!!
excellent food, wonderful service, large portions!
This is a special Indian eatery. The owners and weight staff genuinely care about the food they create and the service they provide. If you're interested, they'll talk to you a bit and recommend new experiences with their menu. We've only been here twice now, but both times everything we tried was excellent. The menu is a good size, with plenty of options and diversity. And the venue itself kind of feels like an elegant treehouse... That's not quite right, but it is a very comfortable and unique environment. Can't wait to go back!
Great Punjabi family run restaurant. Food was great. Nice location at mill valley.
Great Indian food in downtown Mill Valley. I have been several times for both lunch and dinner, an excellent experience each time, for both vegetarians and meat eaters. The servers are extremely friendly, the outdoor area is lovely, and the food is always delicious. (I highly recommend the samosa chaat, though I don't think you can go wrong.) Well worth a visit. Thanks Prabh!
I think this a great North Indian restaurant. The staff is very kind and attentive and I found the food very fresh and authentic. I loved the aloo tikki chat and it reminded me of what I’d get in Delhi. I also really liked the vegetarian thali. It had plenty of food and everything was really fresh, especially the dal. This is a great vegetarian-friendly restaurant in Mill Valley.
The BEST INDIAN FOOD in the Bay Area! I grew up in India and this is as good as it gets for restaurant food (unless you’re paying 4x the price to eat at a Michelin rated place). Each dish is uniquely flavored (unlike most Indian restaurants that use the same base sauce, Prabh makes a unique base for each dish). They use whole spices that you can see and taste in each dish, especially the samosas. The Paneer Tikka Kabab is incomparable. If you are craving Indian food (or not), GO HERE NOW!! 🤪🤣 This is a vegetarian paradise. I recommend getting • Malai Kofta • Dal Makhani • Paneer Tikka (with Naan) • Naan Platter You can’t really go wrong with anything over here, so go experiment and try something new :-)
Such a cute spot in the charming town of Mill Creek! I tried the achari soya chap and it was absolutely outstanding—highly recommend giving it a try. Even their sauces are packed with flavor!
Really tasty food. I love the saag paneer and rogan josh.
A hidden gem—like an oasis in the desert. The service is exceptionally attentive and genuinely friendly, and the food is outstanding. The Mulligatawny soup is a vibrant starter that awakens the taste buds. The Lamb Boti Kabob is simply the best—tender, perfectly spiced, and masterfully cooked in the clay oven. The Mango Chicken, paired with warm naan and fragrant rice, rounds out a thoroughly enjoyable meal.
We have come here many times and never been disappointed! They have scrumptious lunch specials from uttapam to their famous thalis! The restaurant is clean, colorful, comfortable, and filled with traditional Indian decorations.😀😊😁
I been here to eat multiple times with my close friend Jay. The owner is very welcoming and atmosphere is always great. I have a couple of favorite dishes over the years that are always fresh with good portions. I will be back soon.
Best Lentil soup ever! Garlic Naan (flat bread) yummy. Shrimp curry delicious ~ staff lovely. Everything made to order. Fresh, authentic. 5 stars! We will be back.
Amazing food and love their new online ordering!
A Michelin Star restaurant in our own Marin? Wow! Absolutely delicious! Enjoy!
The food is halal, very beautiful inside with the decor and vibe, everyone is extremely kind and the food was so good! Underrated and deserves 5 stars for sure.
Some of the best Indian food I have ever had. Their attention to details and delicious traditional Indian cuisine flavors.
Authentic Indian cuisine and excellent service. We truly enjoyed our dining experience at Prabh. The food was amazing... Gobi Manchurian, Tikka masala, and lamb vindaloo were all amazingly flavorful. We had the garlic naan as well which did not disappoint. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. I have never had such amazing service either... All the employees would check in to make sure we were cared for and enjoying our food.
It's a cute small house converted into a restaurant. The service was really good. High class. The food was amazing. Came out piping hot. You can pick you spice level, hot is not hot at all more like medium and medium is like mild. Food presentation was A1. If you like Naan try the assortment Naan basket so you can have 3 different Naan to try. Enjoy!
Stopped here for lunch and was very impressed! The food was incredible, and restaurant beautifully decorated.
This place had the best Indian food I've had in a very long time. It was 430 on a holiday, so very little was open when we got a recommendation for it from the owners of an adorable clothing boutique that had been there 30 years. Started with appetizers , main course, beers and dessert and every part of it was moith watering and satisfying. We were both stuffed but couldn't stop eating. They take their time getting food out to you, but worth every minute of the wait! Wish I could remember names of the dishes, but will include photos at least. Highly recommend when coming through this town.

Food here is intense. Always scintillating. The interior itself is frequently disturbed by a cool bespoke calmness. That aspect is not necessarily positive.
Came here and ordered onion kulcha, dal soup, basil garlic naan, and samosa everything was perfect and absolutely yummy. The service was great too: friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better.
Probably the best Indian food we had in a while: Aloo Tikki Chat, Rogan Josh, Tandoori chicken, Garlic Basil Naan. Large Portions. Beautiful decoration. Great service. Reasonable prices. Will come back.
Delicious food. Excellent ambiance. Perfect prices. Extraordinary service. All around a wonderful enough experience for me to leave a review which I hardly ever do.
Great Indian coffee. Excellent naans. We had lentils soup and dipped 3 kinds of naan in it. Very satisfying.
I had lunch yesterday it was so delicious ☺️food quality is awesome 😍staff is very cooperative, great job Prabh Indian kitchen 🥰
Love this place, I love indian food and this place shows out. The chicken tikka kebab came out on a sizzling hot plate and the portions are great for the price. Love the goat cheese naan and the garlic naan. Server was super sweet and nice, definitely check this place out!

My mother chose Prabh Indian Kitchen for her 68th birthday dinner celebration. She's originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, but you'd never know it. The restaurant appears to have originally been a house–and it's charming AF. Inside, it's dimly lit with the warm, romantic glow of candles and decorative stringed lights. Fish and Vegetable Pakora was ordered for the table–both gluten free–and came with a trio of dipping sauces: tamarind/date, mint, and what they call "911" sauce, which wasn't that hot to me. The Pakora batter is deliciously seasoned with a satisfying crispity-crunch. I ordered the Goan Fish Curry (hot spiciness) and Mulligatawny Soup. The curry itself was very, very hot. I'm someone who always ordes my food with added heat and this had my mouth on fire with tears rolling down my cheeks. However, the flavor and perfectly cooked texture of the fish are undeniably good, very good. The soup is lentil-based with tiny "bits" of chicken. I didn't care for the taste or texture, but after adding some 911 sauce it was more palatable. My mother ordered the Butter Chicken–the scent of which should be made into a Glade plug-in or candle, it was so yummy and rich–and my father ordered the Lamb Vindaloo. The meat was tender and again, the flavor was complex, rich, and fragrant. My boyfriend ordered the Karahi Lamb (hot spiciness) but didn't experience the tears and flaming throat-on-fire that I did. The service was curteous, thoughtful, and kind. Overall, this Indian meal was the most delicious and delightful I've ever had. I recommend you treat yourself, especially this winter –prime curry-eating season.
Very good food. They do a great job catering to your individual spiciness level. However, four stars because it is overpriced compared to other Indian restaurants with equal or better food.
Had lunch for the 2nd time in 3 years. Location is ideal if you are traveling to Muir Woods. Ordered Aloo Gobi, Palak Paneer, Dal Makhani and Malai Kofta with tandoori roti and garlic naan. Palak paneer and dal makhani were good. The gobi in aloo gobi was undercooked. Malai Kofta was a bit too sweet. Breads were excellent. Service and atmosphere is excellent. Overall a bit pricey on certain items but apt for the location.
Often at Indian places a “red” sauce is used for multiple dishes etc Here there was a wonderful variety in flavors- though I am vegetarian I did try some of my families sauces to get a feel for over all flavor. We had veggies, fish, lamb and chicken lots of variety and each flavor unique not a generic sauce to be had here Service was not as stellar We had a larger party and the service was lacking- it seems trivial but the bill was brought so quickly no time to enjoy our stay no lingering at all!
Very tasty authentic Indian food. Loved the roti, kulcha, mixed veg and lamb. The portion size was perfect not too small or large. Will be visiting again soon.
We ended up going to an Indian restaurant called Prabh near Muir Woods in Mill Valley California. Food was very fresh and nice. Ambience was cozy. Restaurant was beautifully decorated with enchanting background music.

This place has a very good ambiance. Food was good. Vegetarian Platter - Good Kadai Paneer - Good Gobi Manchurian - Good Veg Jalfrezi - Ok Assorted naans - Ok Aloo Paratha - naaahh!!
Friendly service and good quality food just not suited to my taste. I like a more traditional Indian. Prabh seemed like a modern take on Indian which many people like, just not me. I'll have to visit again. Not too much to say here, moving on.
Enjoyed the food, especially Paneer Bhurji. The staff was polite and attentive; the location convenient. The ambiance was nice, no tv on this evening at 5:00. Gentle Indian pop music played in the house which set a really nice vibe. My criticism is that the menu forces one to pay for some things separately, such as chutney, which seemed unreasonable to me. (Perhaps this keeps other prices on the menu down?)
The food was nice, but compared to the price they are asking, it was not worth it.
Food is okay. Could be better. Food is slightly on the less spicy side, so if you want spicy, make sure you ask. Service was good. The place is pretty big with plenty of space inside and some space outside as well. There are toilets on site.
Tried this place on my way back from Santa Rosa , beautiful location in the hilly Mill Valley , with very limited parking space , first I thought it was a North Indian restaurant but after eating there I can surely say that the chef isn’t North Indian . The place was quite clean including the restroom. Food was average , slightly overpriced for the small portion size , ordered paneer tikka , it was ok , chutney came in a really tiny container. Their Daal makhani and Kadhai paneer were okay but not authentic , aloo paratha had turmeric in it and the basil garlic naan looked more like a tandoori roti with a sprinkle of basil herb not the fresh basil …. The masala chai was not fully cooked and was so bad for 4$ per cup …. The worst thing was he gave us basmati rice which were not fully cooked , we thought it was complimentary but later saw that he charged us for it , he also charged us for the onions and green chillies which is complimentary at most places … and they took a long time to bring in the food …. Don’t think I ll be ever going back there
Came here in a group on a hot day and the seating outside was taken so we sat inside which was very warm despite sitting next to the open window. Pakora and gobi manchurian were soggy with thick breading. Biriyani smelled spoiled and tasted a bit rancid. Chana saag was dry. Vindaloo and tikka masala were acidic. Roti and naan were dry.
A good Masala Dosa is hard to find in Marin and environs. I've always had to cross a bridge too far to get one. So when I found myself in Mill Valley and a search turned up Prabh I was excited. The Dosa came with a just heated sambar and a coconut curry straight out of the fridge. Neither of these succeeded in complementing the undercooked soggy Dosa. I should have perhaps heeded the alarm bells my intuition set off when upon arriving, I was greeted with a "yes can I help you?" - it should have been unnecessary to explain that I had come to the restaurant to eat lunch. Back to crossing bridges for Masala Dosa

Food is good and the service was great. Only thing is it was overpriced and smaller portions. Quite surprised that most Indian restaurants give good amount of serving. But was little disappointed ☹️ For instance there was no fish in the fish curry
I love Indian food. Was looking forward to trying out this place in Mill Valley, was greatly disappointed. Ordered the cucumber salad, there was virtually no dressing and no flavor besides cucumber taste. I also ordered the Tandoori fish. It came with grilled vegetables and the Tandoori fish which was overcooked and extremely dry. The rice was dry and flavorless as well. Very disappointed.
Terrible. They used loads of food color. Nothing tasted authentic. We ordered Butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, paneer tikka masala, rice. Everything just failed me and my friends. The following message is directly to restaurant. Please do not lose the genuine Indian taste. The food was modified to an extent that it was just Indian looking food and not Indian tasting food.
2nd time here many months apart. Food is dull, many dishes taste the same. Not a fan and given the number of people on a Friday nite, we are not off base. Skip it
I would not recommend this restaurant. We should have known when we walked in around 6:00 pm and there were no other customers in the restaurant - particularly after we walked past many restaurants full of diners. Flavors on saag & chicken curry were just off. Biryani was cromulent. Even the garlic basil naan was a disappointment. The person who took our order was pleasant, but came out wearing an AirPod, like we interrupted him listening to a podcast to take our order. Portion sizes were good.
Ordered the chicken thali. There were 2 main dishes: chicken and lentils, that too in very little quantities. The taste was okay. The kheer (rice pudding) tasted burnt. Tried the dosa too, which was pretty bad especially the sambar. Was not impressed overall.

Worst Indian food in the Bay Area. I ordered the butter chicken, garlic naan, and raita. The garlic naan was so tough it was like eating cardboard. The raita seemed to be half frozen and tasted like it was going bad, almost a curdled and sour taste. The butter chicken was so dry it was like chewing on rubber- this shouldn’t even be possible as it’s soaking and cooking in sauce. Trader Joe’s has better butter chicken that is more moist and that’s frozen and microwaved. For how expensive this place is I was expecting it to at least be edible not broiled rubber and cardboard.
Beware this is no where close to authentic Indian food. Ordered Masala dosa, they sent some crape with Samosa filling. It's didn't taste like Dosa at all. In the name of coconut chutney they provided a small cup of coconut milk with grated coconut on top. Terrible quality. Food Quality: 1 Hygiene:1 Restaurant ambience: 3
Food is not good here. I'm not sure how anyone can say the food is good. Went yesterday and chicken tikka masala was nothing but sour tomato paste is all I could taste, chicken biryani had no flavor, tasted like steamed rice and raita was super sour, saag paneer was lacking salt. We told them to make everything spicy/hot but it wasn't even slightly spicy. We spent a lot here for some really bad food. Wouldn't recommend this place. Been here a few times and each time the food was disappointing.
Ordered a take out and it was outright inedible. The aaloo paratha lacked a semblance of aaloo in it. The samosas were partially uncooked. For the price they charge (which is relatively high for bay area - 4 samosas for $18), the food is not palatable at all.
I don't understand how this place has four stars. It's the worst Indian food I ever ate. I even tried the dishes the other guests ordered. I was starving and I just couldn't eat it. I ended up leaving and going to another restaurant. I love chicken sag. I'm not sure what this was but even the consistency of the sauce was wrong it was a think light green sauce. I order it spicy and it had no flavor at all. I should have known know when the place was empty at 6pm.
We have been loyal customers for over 5 years. We were shocked when we received our order from Uber Eats with food that appeared to be from yesterday’s buffet and was so terrible that we had to throw away - $65 worth of food. We are praying we don’t get sick. The restaurant was not concerned, and hung up on me twice when I called to share our concern. The food was so bad I plan to file a complaint with the health department. Truly this is sad - we used to love this place.
The chicken curry was terrible. The chicken was not cooked at all. I had to throw it out. The vegetable samosas were not fried fully and it appeared they were not fresh. The dough was uncooked and tasted stale. When I called to complain and ask for a refund for these 2 items they refused to give the refund. I feel the customer service they provided for this situation is unacceptable.
Food wasn’t great. We ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani and Lamb rogan josh Biryani was okay But the other 2 dishes were sweet and had no taste. We even could see the red color stains on our hands after eating the food. We ordered aloo and gobhi paratha too which didn’t even have enough fillings to be called as a paratha. Super disappointed with the taste !
We have been to this place once a few years ago after our hiking sessions in Mill Valley, looking forward to the good food. Unfortunately, our recent visit was terribly disappointing. Firstly, the beverages were served late, despite our request to have them before the main course. The coffee was extremely weak, barely tasting like coffee, and the milk used was of low quality. The mango lassi was overly sour, almost undrinkable. It took a while before they could serve our main course and that after a couple of reminders. As for the main course which was a few sabzi and naans, both the quality and quantity were not up to the mark, especially considering the prices. The mutter paneer tasted like it was mixed with tomato ketchup, which was quite off-putting. The kadai paneer lacked any salt, making it bland. The only dish that was somewhat decent was the dal makhani, but it was not enough to make up for the shortcomings of the other dishes. Overall, this experience was very disappointing compared to our previous visit. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the quality of their food and service.
I was visiting the nearby are and wanted some quick togo food. I ordered Samosas, Allu paratha, egg dosa and naan from this place. All the food i ordered was packed nicely for to go but the food in itself was very disgusting. No taste, no potatoes in the Allu paratha, no egg in the egg dosa. The samosas masala was used in the allu paratha and samosa’s outer layer was not cooked properly. We had a very bad experience and paid almost 3 times the money I would pay in any other restaurant. Not sure how the rating is 4.3.
Worst ever place for Indian food. NO it's not authentic at all. If you like to burn your stomach like a hell, feel free to go here! I've been to India and authentic Indian food vendors serves real and non-spicy food there. IDK why in US most of Indian restaurant serves food extra-extra spicy plus! I wish I can give a zero star for this.
Decided to try something new, and sorely regretted it. My husband's chicken was undercooked, and my meal was dry, bland, and I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. The vegetable pakoras were half overcooked. A huge waste of $80. Will never be returning and do not recommend, there's way better Indian options in marin
It seems to be a poorly run family restaurant. Extremely rude manager doesn’t know a thing about client service. The lady who took orders was also unfriendly. My wife and I went there with our kids, one 3 and other 5. They hardly ate anything. These guys initially handed us a check of $70. When they returned our credit card they charged $84 - a 20% tip had been charged to our credit card without our knowledge and approval! When we asked why they added $14 extra without informing us, they said it’s their norm to charge 20% extra to a group of 4 or more. 2 kids aged 3 and 5 who hardly ate anything, you are charging 20% surcharge for them without even telling the customers! Are you kidding! The manager was super rude and told me “do whatever you want to do, I don’t care”. Wow! What an amazing way to treat your customers! No wonder the place was vacant during peak dinner hours! If you want to avoid unethical business, do stay away from this place like plague. Man, you could earn money without cheating customers too!
We had a Very bad experience in this place. If you visit Muir Woods and plan to eat lunch and crave for Indian food, please *do not visit* this place. Ordered Veg Thali and Curries and Roti. Do not order the Gobi Manchuria. It literally tastes like potatoes. Dal was frozen instead of being warm. Waiter behavior was very rude. Paneer was thick and the paneer blocks tasted like heated rubber.
