We ordered Chile Colorado and Chile verde.. both dishes were amazing… and of course we started w tortilla, spice source and guacamole… just a perfect dinner and the best.. the prices very affordable
I was visiting from Vancouver Canada and stopped at this restaurant. My mind was blown and literally stopped by twice in 3 days haha The food was delicious and the portions are perfect. Definitely will go back when I visit next time.
Definitely Aztec as noted by the decor! I love the fact that they offer quinoa in place of rice for the burrito bowl. It was really good! The staff was very kind, even though we were not quite finished after close. The watermelon Paloma was very yummy and my partner and I enjoyed the intimate little 2 person booth where we sat.
We brought our dog and left him in the car(cool night temp). We had a front row parking spot and they let us sit in a window booth to watch him. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. (Thank you Ruth). No waiting. Enough food for lunch the next day. Very yummy! Quiet but nice bar. Employees seemed to be in good spirits. Nice vibes. Come check it out!
We live in Oakland. We were in Milpitas for some work and stopped at this place for a late lunch. Gosh such a delightful find and we were pleasantly surprised by our dinning experience. Everything was beyond our expectations. Service was excellent. Ruth, our server, was a gem. She was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Knew the menu really well and recommended great vegetarian dishes. Food was delicious and flavorful. The portions were more than generous. We are vegetarians, so we got everything without meat and absolute loved them! Loaded fries- crispy with loads of cheese and bursts of flavorful toppings. 5 Stars! Cheese enchiladas- mouthwatering flavors. It came with rice and beans sides. 5 stars Vegetable wet burrito with half red and half green sauce. Yummy, but we enjoyed the other “cheesy” dishes more. So, 4.5 stars. Cheese cake for dessert. 4 stars Margarita was strong and delicious 5 stars!! Ambience is super cute and gives you an experience of a traditional Mexican cuisine! We loved everything. Wish we lived closer. We will definitely make sure to stop by whenever we are in the area!
A must try Mexican restaurant. I would rank casa azteca as one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area especially for vegetarians. We started off with the freshly prepared chips and salsa (warning: salsa is very spicy🌶️ !). Enchiladas were filled with the perfect amount of cheese and veggies, smothered with green sauce and drizzled with cream. The fajitas came in sizzling hot with a variety of seasonal vegetables on top of the regular bell pepper and onions. The tortillas were soft and fresh to the table. Overall all the orders were perfect. Look forward to trying other options from the menu.
My family has been going here for years and whenever I'm in town, I take the opportunity to go. The service and food are stellar. The servers are recognizable and have been there for years--they're always so polite and friendly. I always get the enchiladas there. The emojis sauce is the best I've had! They always serve chips and salsa upon seating you and the salsa is nice and spicy. If you want traditional Mexican food at a sit down spot, this is the place to go.
I was here maybe more than a decade ago and I’m so glad that I visited again today! We were greeted by the manager I believe with a big smile and seated us right away. The waiter took our drink order and delivered within 5 minutes. Then we played our order and also quickly brought to our table. The portion and the taste was amazing, I specifically love their carnitas, so sold and flavorful! I will surely come back for more. They also have good size of space can accommodate large party and special events!
Love the food. Scrumptious portions, great quality and taste. We ordered different dishes - burrito bowl, enchiladas, tacos, fajitas. All the dishes were great. Kids loved the flan, but said that it was a tad too sweet. Service was great, too. Waiter was patient and attentive. Highly recommend this place!
I've never had a chimichanga before and I liked it! Different than what I've seen online. This restaurant presents/prepares it differently compared to pictures online. They left a bit of bread after wrapping to keep some areas of the burrito crispy since eventually the crispiness goes away due to the juicy meat. The restaurant service was great. I just got a bit warm (AC wasn't on for the majority of my sitting) so don't be afraid to ask for them to turn on the AC. I actually thought it was me due to the food but found out my friends were warm too. If you're warm, it's not you! Overall, I loved the food and would love to go back. Thanks
When my friends first mentioned about this restaurant I was little hesitant as I never tried Mexican food. But I fell in love with their food immediately after tasting. Their lunch menu contains each day each item and it comes with choice of either tea or coffee or soda. Their beans with Enchilada and Mexican rice was yummy. Chicken in the tacos was awesome. I could taste egg in their Flan(which I don't like). The staff was friendly and kind. They always had smile on their faces. Overall it was great and I would go again.
A gem in a crowded place. A hidden local eatery. U can tell it is old school on the waiters. Luv it. I had the fish with Spanish rice. We made it family style. Chicken quesadillas, carnitas meal. Good quality with excellent service. As always post wherever u end up. You never know the gem awaits u.
Food & Ambiance: we randomly found this place and surprised by interior decoration. It’s very homey and also colorful. The food tasted GREAT. We were really full so we planned to bring the loaded fries home but it was so good that we kept reaching for it. The tacos I ordered with steak, shrimp/ fish and chicken, amazing! They have some different types of burritos and the one we got is surprisingly filling and refreshing! Service: all of them are so warm and welcoming. Very helpful whenever we raised our hand for water or boxes. Would definitely want to come again!
Thanks to our friends, we visited this amazing restaurant. My son was amazed with the name and kept thinking about the colonial era. He enjoyed the wall paintings. I would say, we all did as well. Beautiful!!!! Let’s get to food. I ordered shrimp fajitas which was delicious and generous portion. The refried beans and tortillas were okay. For the first time, my daughter ordered Mexican pizza. Not sure, if she’ll ever order again. And to my surprise they had chicken wings on the menu. It’s a Mexican restaurant. My son ended up getting chicken wings but it had no Mexican flavors. My husband ordered pork fajitas however he found it dry. Customer service was great. Yesterday was National Margarita Day. We did celebrate by ordering house Margarita’s which delicious. Totally recommending the margarita. And try the guacamole dip. You will love the crunchy chips. Overall, awesome experience.
looked up places to eat & this place caught my eye. doubts were given when we pulled into park & saw it was in a tiny business center. but I said the parking is full & the businesses around are closed, we walked into restaurant and it was packed :) we ordered the recommended chimichanga with a side of tortilla soup and a combo plate that consist of a chile relleno & cheese enchilada, rice, beans. first round of chips & salsa are on the house. we had a modelo beer & a tajin rimmed strawberry margarita which was medicore. the food was hot not warm but hot. usually the only thing hot is the plate which was nice. spanish rice usually is dry and has no flavor but I was pleasantly surprised the rice was good along with the rest of our meal. the staff of the restaurant were very friendly and attentive. not only our waiter but everyone helping each other out making sure all customers were taken care of. will be back to try more dishes.
My friend and I walked in here on a Sunday evening and was seated shortly afterward. This restaurant is huge with plenty of seats so it's great if you have a large party. There is a parking lot available but the spaces are a little tight. The service was a little slow at the time we went but we didn't mind since the staff who helped us were very friendly and nice. I ordered the michelada, which I highly recommend! It had the right ratio of lime juice, saltiness, flavor, and beer. I ordered the tacos, which I thought were decent. My (adult) friend who eats less than me ordered of the kids menu, which was a nice option to have. I'm usually really picky about my micheladas, so I would definitely come back here for it when I'm too lazy to make it at home.
The host was not welcoming at all. The waitress was great. The atmosphere was BEAUTIFUL. The food was so so sad. Lackluster. Disappointing. Flavorless. I ordered the tostada compuesta and it looked like slop. It was a big pile of slop on a soggy tostada. There was no crunch. I couldn’t even pick it up because it was soggy. The “street tacos” had absolutely no flavor. The tacos were not street. The tacos were suburban, white picket fence, Pomeranian, boiled chicken breast tacos. The meat was dry. There was no flavor. The tortillas were steamed I think… The chili was missing the chili. It slightly ticked my tongue as if to mock me for expecting spice. And the horchata though fresh was more like horchata infused water with a hint if cinnamon. Their shrimp was good. The fried chicken wings were good. Their serving size was also generous. I advise them to be more generous with the flavor and less with the quantity. Taste matters over quantity.
I would stay away if you want actual mexican food. Went to this restaurant before heading to the 49r vs Bears game because it was right next to me. Honestly food is ok but not amazing. My plate was blazing hot(burnt myself) for just ordering eggs, rice, and beans. My brothers got something else and it was the same. Aqua frescas are not good either. Watermelon fresca taste like minute maid and the horchata taste like unsweetened rice water. Food took over an hour(was nothing complicated)to get when the restaurant was almost fully empty. Not blaming the waitress at all, just the cooks. Waitress was actually very nice and understanding. The reason for such high star reviews is due to milipitas not being majority hispanic based. Your better off eating at taco trucks or going to Stockton haha.
