Best galbi/kalbi jjim in town! The meat is flavorful and tender. You also have the option to add extra cheese, vegetables, rice cake, etc. Someone will come to the table side to torch the cheese. We ordered a large with extra vegetables and cheese, and it was enough for 3 ladies with a little leftover to take home. When this place first opened 3-ish month ago, the wait was minimal when it opens at 5PM. However, as of August 18, 2019, we put down our name at 5:10PM and waited for about an hour until the food arrived at the table (we ordered while waiting). So go early (even before it opens) if you don't want to wait or have a large group.

I can't believe it took me so long to try Daeho :/ Lived my whole life in the bay area, and never had it until recently. It's so good!!! I had friends try out the SF location and I've walked by before but there's always a huge line. This time around, I stopped by the Milpitas location, just a little bit after they opened on Sunday morning. There were only 1-2 other parties inside. For the 3 of us, we ordered 1 braised short rib, spicy level 1, extra cheese (need to pay for it). The kalbijim already comes with some veggies and rice cakes, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to add some more rice cakes!!! You have the option to order the one with more meat. For the 3 of us, regular was just perfect. If you're hungrier, definitely add more meat! 2 purple rice also come with the meal. We were early morning degens, so we also ordered 2 bottles of cass ($8/ea) for the meal :D The meat was so tender and flavorful. Rice cake was so good! The sauce was amazing. It definitely could have used even more cheese haha. Our server Frank was attentive and courteous and helped out with side dishes and any other requests. Parking in the plaza, easy to find. See you soon Daeho! I'll be back sooner than later! Follow the adventure @shoyuthebest on IG!

The best Korean food I’ve ever had in my life! Their beef stew exceeded my expectation so much, it was super flavourful and tender. The best thing about it was it was full of big chunks of meat, so it was definitely enough for 3 very hungry adults, no need to be shy about taking the meat from the pot into your bowl! We added the cheese for extra flavour and performance lol! Also, their kimchi had the right spice level and of course you can refill them! The staff were nice too. There was a queue but it was so worth it! 10/10 recommended. Next time we’ll come back and try something new.

A great splurge meal if you want to treat yourself to some beef ribs, yummy banchan, and deliciois soup. We got the kalbijjim (with cheese and veggies) and the cha bol soup. Both were delicious. Place gets extremely busy during lunch and dinner hours so try to plan and go at off hours.

Kalbi jjim with cheese is really awesome! The beef is juicy and tender. We also ordered kkori (ox tail), it is also good just a little light. This restaurant is really popular, it's better to arrive early to avoid waiting for too long. We arrived about 15 mins (11:45 am) after it opened on a Saturday morning, and there were already 6 groups in front of us waiting. We waited for almost one hour to get seated.

Korean meat and melted cheese? Sign me up! Daeho @daeho_official in Milpitas serves Kalbi Jjim, or Braised beef Rib with melted cheese on top. Pro tip, if you are going to do one of the top three dishes, know what you want before hand so you can order early when you sign up to sit and not have to wait too long for the food once seated. The beef was so tender and delicious. They melt the cheese with a propane powered flame table side for you to enjoy. The purple rice was so good with meal. The Pickled veggies were on point, very authentic and traditional. My friends and me were already discussing when we should come back. They do not take reservations so you sign up with amount of people in your party and wait. @daeho_official 📍 Daeho off West Calaveras Blvd. in Milpitas, CA.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - Kalbijjim (Braised Beef Rib) with cheese and extra rice cake at mild spiciness. It was enough food for four of us and absolutely delicious! They torch the cheese at the table so it’s super melted and gooey. The broth/sauce is on the sweeter side so would consider slightly spicier in the future. The beef rib is super tender and had an amazing texture. Ambience: 5/5 - clean and bright space but the tables are fairly tight together as it’s quite a busy spot Service: 5/5 - quick and very responsive from the servers but it did take about 20 minutes for us to get our food. They were quick to refill side dishes and water though. We were at the restaurant right when it opened so we were seated immediately. However, as we were heading out, there was a huge line outside the door Value for price: 5/5 - a bit on the pricier side but the food is so delicious!

I stopped at Daeho Kalbi Jjim & Beef Soup - San Jose for lunch a while ago. The restaurant has a nice decor with information about Kalbijim. In terms of food, I tried their Kalbijim with Extra Meat, at Mild Spicy level, with Rice Cake and Purple Rice. Everything was really good - nicely braised/cooked kalbi, good rice cake, and assortment of vegetables. Although it was the mild spicy level, it was equivalent to medium at some other places. Overall, it was definitely a good dish to try and I’d give it 8.8/10

It is one of my favorite Korean restaurants. Cheese galbijjim is very famous, but I visit occasionally to eat the Suyuk. Chadol Yanggi Suyuk is so light and delicious that there is no place to follow it. There is a long wait, but if you go with 2 people, you are lucky enough to get a table quickly.

Daeho is the best reference point for Kalbi Jjim in the Bay Area. Known for their Kalbi Jjim with Cheese that they heat up on your table, the combination of tenderized beef and a nice cheese pull gives you a fantastic dining experience. For tables of 3-4 ppl the Kalbi Jjim (Large) is recommended alongside a beef soup to help you take a break from all the immersive flavors. Their side dishes are also solid but just be careful as their kimchi is on the spicier side. Please note the milpitas location is always super packed at peak hours and you may have to wait 45-60mins but use the yelp waitlist/check in for reference. Becuz it takes a while to make ur Kalbi Jjim they will ask for your order in line so that you don’t wait for ur food for too long. Highly recommend!

This was my second time at this chain. First was in Seattle and this time it was in Milpitas. It followed the same concept of joining the waitlist then getting called to pre-order your food then wait to get seated. We got the galbijjim and the seollungtang. Both were delicious and enjoyed the banchans too. This location is a bit small but the wait time wasn’t that bad, about 20 mins during prime dinner time.

Delicious! The flavors are on point! Sweet and savory. We ordered the Kalbi Jjim Ribs with cheese. I would recommend having it with the noodles to help soak up the very tasty sauce. The servings are really big, the large bowl will serve 4 adults pretty easily. If you have big eaters in the group, you can add sides to your order. It gets busy at meal times so plan accordingly.

Came here on a Sunday night, and there was a long line. Kind of tell you already how good the food is. Waited for about 50 minutes. And you can tell that The restaurant normally have a long wait because everybody come in with a Paris baguette bag. Outstanding food. The portion is Pretty big, and two people can definitely not finish the Whole thing. It is very good with cheese, and the way they come to your table with a fire torch definitely elevate the experience to the next level. Customer service is fantastic as well. The waiter came to check on us and to make sure the order is right. And at the end when I was packing the food to go, the waitress noticed that the to go box was too small, She not only pack the rest of food for me, switch to a bigger box, but also nicely told me to microwave the thing for three minutes. Love everything about this restaurant and will definitely come back again and again

Specialty restaurant, not very large, but we'll ventilated and clean. Came on a Monday night and had to wait an hour (holiday season). Not sure if truly authentic, but everything was delicious, even the appetizers tasted fresh and flavorful. The ox tail and ribs covered with cheese was excellent as expected. Service was organized (place orders before seating).

The best Korean restaurant at Bay Area, period. The best part of Daeho is not just about their amazingly delicious main course (have to try their famous Kalbi Jjim), but also their side dishes, even though only 4 of them, by every side dish is the best one comparing to all other Korean restaurants.

A great place to go for a warm, hearty meal. We had the Kalbijjim (braised beef rib) with mild spiciness (which was mild as said) -- felt like we could have gone up a spicier level but we enjoyed the flavors. ALWAYS add the cheese on top! they come and melt it at the table which issuper cool and the cheese flavor and texture really adds to the potatoes/rice cakes/short rib and the sauce. YUM. The bonchon was good (there's 4 dishes). The noodle soup we got was also delicious -- rich broth (a bit spicy) and nicely cooked noodles. We were able to walk in at around 11:45 am on a saturday but when we left there's was a long line. Waiters were nice and the ambiance is energetic and vibrant -- there's a constant chatter from everyone.

Dinner at Daeho Kalbi Jjim and Beef Soup, ordered the braised short ribs that fell off the bone in spicy broth but the side banchan kimchi was too fermented for my liking. Busy spot with grills at tables steaming up the air, server refilled water often even as groups piled in.

Known for their menu family-style plates to share, Daeho brings quality Korean food to the Bay Area. Make sure to enjoy the food while it’s hot because as it cools it becomes more thick and heavier to eat. Doh Gal Jjim / braised short rib + ox tendon (~$110 for large with add ons of mozzarella cheese, potato noodles, and rice cakes): shared this between 3 people and was not able to finish it. The presentation was amazing – the staff bring it in a hot stone bowl and blow-torch the cheese in front of you. The meat is extremely tender and juicy due to it being braised. We got the highest spice level and it was perfect – it made an impact but not overbearing to the point where it ruined the meal. The potatoes and caramelized onions were great complements to the beef. The ox cartilage was extremely gooey but I wish they added more. Spicy Kalbitang ($24 for regular size): flavorful and refreshing soup that would taste amazing on a cold day. Broth was light and great salt levels – never fell flat on flavor. Kalbi Ttoek-bokki ($13): basically the same sauce and seasoning as the Kalbijjik dishes but a smaller portion to share if you want to try other menu items. Had to make a Yelp reservation in advanced, and upon arrival to confirm the reservation, had to wait for about 20 minutes. The restaurant is small in size but relies on a quick turnover rate and quick service to host many guests. The staff even pack up the food for you with their own sealed containers. I would go here maybe once or twice a year to celebrate with family or friends but the wait time deters me from coming back more frequently.

First time eating here to try their signature Beef Kalbi Jjim. It didn't disappoint. The stew of potato, carrot, radish and tender beef ribs was delicious. With flavors like that can only mean one thing, it was braised long and slow. Our entree came with Banchan vegetables and optional purple rice. We ordered two for our group of seven It was more than enough to satisfy our hunger. Although it's expensive, with the amount of beef in the dish, it was priced accordingly. Please note that they don't take reservations for large groups. There is a waitlist for that so come early if you have a group larger than six. Yes, there is a line and food is worth the wait.

Went here for lunch, there was a wait but they were efficient in that when it is almost your turn, they’ll give you a menu to look at and then you order before you sit down so that the food comes to you quite quickly afterwards. However, the Kalbijjim does take 20-30 mins after sitting down too. Overall, the food quality is great, service is good and atmosphere is not bad.

Daeho Kalbijjim and Beef Soup offers an unforgettable Korean dining experience. The kalbijjim is incredibly tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice to enhance the rich, savory sauce. The beef soup is equally impressive, with a hearty broth that's deeply satisfying and packed with deliciously soft beef. The portions are generous, perfect for sharing with friends or family. The atmosphere is warm and bustling, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. For anyone craving authentic and expertly prepared Korean cuisine, Daeho is a must-visit!

Daeho never disappoints! If you’re visiting for the first time, you have to try the Daeho Suyuk — incredibly tender beef, full of rich, deep flavor, and perfect with their dipping sauces. The portion is generous, great for sharing, and pairs so well with a bowl of rice or their signature soup.

Do make a reservation before you go or be there early, otherwise you will have to wait! Good way to enjoy Korean cuisine , it was little different from what we usually have the Tofu house or Korean BBQ! It was very flavorful, meat are tender and well seasoned! The oxtail is so good. The cheese being blowtorched to melt it is a fun performance, but the flashy presentation still doesn't overshadow the quality of the food. Meat is super tender, the sauces are sweet and savory.

After a long time of walking by this place I decided to give it a try. It always seems busy and quite authentic so I thought, why not? I was not disappointed! The service was quick and the servers were very nice and efficient. We ordered a Daeho Kalbijjim for 2 people, we chose the following: - Protein: 1, braised beef rib - Spice level: Mild. It was very tasty while still enjoyable. Would definitely ask for this again. - Toppings: Cheese and veggies The beef was incredibly tender and tasty. The dish also comes with "rice cakes" which resemble pieces of either pasta like rigatoni or those string cheeses you take to school for lunch. They also included 2 different portions of rice (we got purple and white) and kimchi, kimchi radishes, jalapeños and more. It was quite the experience. I really enjoyed dining here and can honestly say I think it is worth the hype, the price and the wait. Overall we had plenty of food and still took some home. 10/10 would recommend

My first time ever try this place. I know this place because my friend is super craving for their cheese pot thing. But I think the cheese portion is a bit overrated but if u are a cheese lover, it's pretty good. What I was surprised was the glass noodles in the bit pot. The glass noodles soaked with the sauce test super good. The egg noodles beef soup that I ordered was pretty good too, but I wouldn't order it again cuz the glass noodles taste so good lol. The service was pretty nice too. The waitress refilled out small plates as soon as we finished it. We asked for take the leftover, they took the leftovers and put them in the fancy box with seal on it, which amazed me. They accidentally dropped the rice to the table and they were giving us new one with out hasitating when they were packing for our leftovers. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone just cuz the service is super good and the glass noodles is super good. And will come over again if I have the chance.

Their beef soups are super large! Easily can feed 3 people or more! Everything from the soup to the veggies were perfect! Though the beef could be a little more tender! There was a large variety available that you could pick out if you get the combination beef! On top of that amazing service!

Long wait time for weekend dinner should make reservation on line.. somehow we were lucky to get a table right away as all of our party was present. Staffs were quick to take our order. We came here for lunch and had a good meal. The service was quick, but we were given dirty cups and utensils and had to ask for new ones. We ordered the kalbijjim, kalbi tang, and chadol. Everything was good, but our favorite item that we ordered was the kalbijjim. This meal was quite pricy for a lunch, but the quality of ingredients was definitely good. Would definitely come back again for the kalbijjim!

Dine-in May 2025: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ We ordered the Seolleong Tang and the Creamy Gye Ran Jim and they were both excellent. Service was good and the banchan was good. Highly recommend for those two dishes. Take-out December 2022: ⭐⭐ I love the flavor, but our order of Kalbijjim was super heavy with cheese and then when we tried to get to the ribs all the meat was so tough to eat. There were so many bones and no tender pieces of meat. Quality of food has gone downhill and I would not recommend eating here. I ordered so many times before throughout the pandemic and the last few times here and in SF have been truly underwhelming. So sad because the flavor is there, not the meat quality. I cannot believe I didn't Almost $100 and got too much cheese and bones with very little tender pieces of meat. ⭐ for meat quality. Dine-in September 2022: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love the Kalbi Jjim, but the bibimbap did not have the charred rice on the lava bowl and it did not have enough sauce so it was under seasoned. Everything else was great.

Obviously, their iconic Daeho Kalbi Jjim tastes good. Definitely more on the sweet side, but quite authentic to kalbi jjim I've had in Korea. I also got their naemmyeon (sorry if I spelled it wrong). It was tasty and cold, but the portion is huge! Hard for 1 person to finish. Their banchan (kimchis) were lacking. They don't give much and they didn't taste very good. Kind of like if you made kimchi from home not realizing it'll take a couple days to get the proper fermented taste. Staff was attentive and handled the long lines and crowded restaurant well. However, THERE IS NO AC! PLACE WAS SO HOT!!! Be ready to sweat just from heat. I like the music choice though. Had some Big Bang playing and some other pre-BTS popular Kpop. Would I go again? Probably not. You save money making kalbi jjim at home. But it's a nice little experience.

Food can be a bit inconsistent at times, but their service is always good, and they will even remake food for you if the food tastes a bit off - maybe stay away from cold noodles. Their banchan is usually very good - but can be a little off when they are too busy to control their quality. Despite this, I will always come back because they offer great Korean comfort food. 😊 best japchae, galbi ddeokbokki, sulungtang in town.

Total Score: 6.83 Bathroom: N/A Didn’t use the bathroom Customer Service: 3.75/5 Not much interaction with the employees and we were running out of water 😖. But they had all the little dishes and rice before we sat down so that was nice Ambiance: 3.5/5 Classic Korean restaurant vibes but slightly cramped Food: 3.75/5 Ugh the meat was so fricken juicy and savory. Best meat I’ve ever had so much flavor was packed in. Only some complaints about the small things wished there was more variety of veggies or toppings in general. Also wished purple rice was harder Wow: 0/1 Juicy meat 🤤 Total Score = (CS + 2*AM + 5*FOOD + WOW)/0.9

Found hair in my food two times. First piece of hair was found in the bowl of pickled jalapeño. Second piece of hair was found in my bowl of rice. Not cool at all. Made me kept second guessing my intake. Other than that, we had kalbi jjim with cheese. It was delicious. I hope we didn’t swallow any pieces of hair. Not fond of their water. It tasted as if I was drinking steel/rust water. Must have been the type of cups they were using and or the water must have sat in the drink pitcher for a while. Had to substitute for soft drink.

The food tastes great and I come here often, but please pay attention to processing food. Finding a label in my food at the end was really disgusting.

This is quite a trendy Korean restaurant. Despite the cheese as a topping being different we appreciated the flavors. We ordered the beef bibimbap, braised short ribs w/ ox knee, and boiled beef suyuk. Meat portions were small relative to the prices and the service was mediocre at best.

Long waiting line despite having registered on their Yelp wait list. Being 7 in line with a group of 6 people, Yelp told us that it took 45 minutes before our turn, which would be around 6:30pm. The freeway was also jammed with traffic which caused us to go 5m/h. Of course we weren’t worried because we had to wait for 45 minutes. Then, the app notified us to see host at 6:10??! We were really confused, but there was nothing you can do in traffic jam. When we arrived before 6:30pm, we were told that our table was pushed back to the end of the line because we were not there when they called?!!!! Totally confused wait list. You didn’t expect your customers to register on wait list and be there at your beck and call, did you? The food was great and all. Cheese kalbijjim was good and nice performance. The bibimbab was just average, and the kalbi guksu was misleading. They said it’s sweet pumpkin noodle soup, but none of us could actually taste the pumpkin flavor. One thing I disliked about them was their indifference in attention. When we left, my child left his toys behind. He was 3 years old and liked putting toys on the table. It was part of our faults for not checking all the stuff before leaving, but we only walked like 2 shops from the restaurant and I already hurried back when he cried his toys were still on the table. Look what I see? The table was cleared and cleaned up, but none of the staff saw my son’s toys. When I described that they were a pink egg and a brown sea turtle, all the staff denied seeing them. I pursued them please check again because I remembered my son put them on the plate and covered them with a bowl. They checked the trash bin and told us no such thing indifferently, then said you might lost them somewhere else. I was upset!! I saw him playing with the toys on the table. And the toys were not small, either. We left the restaurant unhappy that night. The toys were not expensive but I didn’t like the way they just told us off.

The soup was overwhelmingly salty, making it hard to enjoy. On the other hand, the kalbi jjim was way too sweet, overpowering the rich, savory flavors I was expecting. The balance just wasn’t there. Disappointed, as I was hoping for a more well-rounded meal.

I absolutely love this chain. It’s my first time here and I’ve been to almost every other location in the bay except this one. Today, I finally decided to give it a try and I was quite disappointed. Their food was just as good but the service here was not. Normally, it’s either a waiter or a waitress thats uncool but both their Korean servers were unfriendly wth and won’t be coming back to this location again.

Daeho used to be one of our regular restaurants. Unfortunately I have to leave this review after what I saw today. While waiting for our food we witnessed multiple employees standing on the same counter where food is prepared. The counter was barely cleaned afterward, they just wiped it with the same cloth they used to wipe everything including the tables. It’s so gross to think they’re basically wiping the floor with that cloth. On top of that they immediately prepared the food on top of the counter after barely cleaning it and with the same gloves for everything.

I eat here about once or twice a month. But today, when I got my takeout, it was all beef bones. It's a stark difference from before. I don't know what happened. I also added a lot of other ingredients, so the portion size was significantly reduced.

Ordered the Daeho Suyuk to go. Literally 4 pieces of meat with all vegs that is not cooked and I have to take back recook it.
