Chinese immigrants love this place for a good reason: big portions and extremely flavorful. It's a lovely family owned hunan place. Great choice.
It’s tasty and authentic. Personally I feel it’s the best hunan style restaurant in the Bay Area. The owner also gives us a bottle of sour plum juice for free for one of my friend’s’ birthday
Hometown Kitchen It’s just bitchin’! My mouth was twitchin’ This review be snitchin’! (Stir-fried Bacon with Children’s Vegetables - SO SPICY SO SAVORY)
It's a very busy place on a Saturday night, so expect some waiting time. It's authentic and flavorful Xiang Chinese Hunan cuisine, not the typical oily American Chinese food. I would highly recommend this place. It's not too spicy and even my kids could eat all the different dishes that I ordered. So those who complained about the spiciness level definitely had zero tolerance towards spice. The food is very well flavored and appetizing. This place is for true foodies who are willing to try a cuisine which is different from their usual Chinese American food.
Initially came for the stinky tofu. Was a bit different than what I expected, but still very good. Really liked the spicy fish fillet. Will definitely go again to get that next time.
It's always wonderful to discover a great restaurant with delicious food. Hunan cuisine is known for its bold and spicy flavors.
This Chinese restaurant had a wide variety of authentic dishes that were both flavorful and satisfying. The service was prompt and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would definitely recommend trying their signature dish, as it was a standout.
Love this place. We went there in a group of 25. The restaurant is not very big but they are very helpful to try to make us comfortable in 3 groups. On my table, we ordered 7 or 8 dishes. They were all very yummy. The prices were very reasonable too. Plenty of parking space. There's a very friendly older server who called everyone 'honey'. Bathroom is clean.
All in all, I really recommend this place! I think this is the truly hometown flavor that I’m looking for. All the dishes are tasty and made with traditional ways. I love the fried stinky tofu, it’s super juicy! Rice noodle is another must-try dish here, with sliced braised beef. Servants are friendly and nice. Cost is not expensive. If you wanna try traditional Hunan cuisine, this is a really good choice.
I got the green pepper chicken gizard and the dried red pepper fried chicken...real hot, real good... Fast and good service. Will go back soon.
My friends and I were on our way back from Monterey when we decided that we were too hungry to wait until we got back to Sacramento to eat. A couple of Google searches later and we found this gem! The most authentic Chinese food I've ever had! Couldn't read half the menu because it was in a different language, but that didn't stop us from ordering everything and anything! Staff was awesome and helpful, answered all our questions! Next trip to Monterey, I know where I'm stopping for some delicious food!
The best of its kind in Milpitas. Fresh ingredients and flavorful. It's not as cheap nor plentiful as other places but quality makes up for it. The place is small and echo-y, so it can get quite loud/rowdy during peak time.
This is the best place to eat the Hunan Stinky Tofu! It’s extremely transitional flavor. It smells super good and super juicy ! Preserved duck egg with chili! OMG! Actually I don’t like preserved duck egg at all, but its mixed with the chili, it’s pretty good! Heng Yang style rice Noodle, the sour bean with the chili oil ! I would say they’re the best matched with the rice noodles! Hunan Style Fried Rice Cake , if you like to eat sticky rice something , you have to try this one ! It’s the best part for my dessert tonight !
Food quality was excellent for the price (less than 10 for most dishes). Atmosphere is quiet and dimly lit, giving a somewhat mysterious vibe. It was pirmarily chinese speaking, but there is English on the menu and very kind waiters. I would definitely come here again.
We really enjoyed the Hunan food here! The dish with four colors of peppers is very spicy, although some peppers look very innocent 😆
My go to place for fast, good and reasonably priced Chinese foods. The lunch specials are all under $10 including tax. Good a portions for lunch specials which comes w rice and soup of the day. Give it a try and you might be a regular customer like myself.
This is the one of the best Hunan restaurant around bay area and it is also my favorite. I came from Hunan and the food here reminds me of the taste of my hometown. The foods are delicious and the prices are good. Highly recommend if you like Hunan food or spicy food.
Really delicious, the food here is a little bit salty, but may satisfy my hunger. . The service and atmosphere here are home welcomed. There is a fish tank that you can see Oranda goldfish
Thank you Chinese style like traditional. We were the only “foreign” here, but people who love good food and great flavors come here. You must ask the order online and the waitress comes with it.
Amazing and authentic food. Quantity could be bigger, which would have make it a better value but it was delicious. Food was extremely spicy but was also tasty and fragrant. Food was a bit salty, greasy and oily but definitely worth it.
I passed by this place a few times and always thought this is an American style Chinese restaurant. Apparently not! Enjoyed my food there!

I love every dish I’ve tried since 2022. I keep going back to this place either by myself or inviting friends to go with me. Please keep making the great real Chinese food. So happy to find this place.

I am a bit biased as the owner is a family friend. Pretty decent spot for Hunan cooking. My family comes here pretty often and while there is some Americanization in the food, it's fairly solid for central Chinese cooking. Solid choices are the frog, fishball and luffa, and the 糍粑 for dessert. The peppers used isn't what we use back in Hunan and you can't really fault them as importing it is quite expensive. This is one of the few places in the Bay that use dried imported Hunan black stinky tofu and it's pretty decent, but the broth doesn't quite have the same complexity and of course, dried black stinky tofu is about as close as it'll get here in the states since the normal production methods are illegal by FDA standards. The location is a bit off, in the plaza next to Milpitas Golfland, but if you're looking for a specific style of Chinese cooking, it's not bad.
This is a Chinese restaurant, not Korean as you would probably guess from the name. The price is fair at $9 to $15 for dishes and some unique dish requiring pre-order at $20 to $30. The place is good for groups as they got a few bigger tables. Service is pretty nice and the owner is really friendly. The dishes are not bad and I think they deserve more attention. The main problem is probably the location because this plaza doesn't get much attention and it's quiet isolated.
Fantastic menu complete with vibrant photos of all the dishes. Service was okay, food came out quickly and piping hot and the portions we're pretty big as well. Everything tasted great, a bit on the spicy side but still very flavorful.
We like the pan fried dumplings, Shanghai dumplings, pork belly with tofu knots, and green beans. The green beans aren't as good as to go because they steam in the box versus in restaurant. Covid protocols in place, just the front door is open and the table is right at the entrance. They also have frozen items to take home as well.
Great takeouts lunch . During the past year work from home, we ordered at least once a week. Favorites are kung-Pao chicken and Mongolian beef. Most are under $10 and it can feed two people.
Flavor is a bit light but still tasty. I am glad they have some special dishes that are hardly found in other Chinese restaurants. Will come back again.
Authentic Hunan cuisine. However, the stinky tofu is a bit dry inside for me. Service is great.

Food is Okay. Atmosphere is not good. Many people brought their dogs in the restaurant and their dogs were not trained. They kept barking, scaring other customers, blocking the way etc. It’s definitely not good place to enjoy the dinner.
The taste of food is great. Very authentic Hunan taste, all spicy food are good to me. The service is terrible or no service at all I should say. When paying, the waiter handed over a mobile payment machine without giving any instruction that I was supposed to select tip percentage first. waiters are supposed to earn their tips first, and get rewarded for good services. This is basic etiquette of serving in restaurants. 5 stars for food and zero for service. Averaging 2.5 and rounded up to 3 stars.
Felt almost ignored at first(not knowing they actually have no physical menu) and then a bunch of the stuff they offer is "out of stock". The restaurant is clean but super basic, and the food is not horrible but not the best either. I've been to a bunch of Chinese food restaurants and this is one I could decidedly skip going to again.
Fake duck blood. Ordered pick up. the duck blood was fake. The beef was tough, and the cucumber skin, which used to be crisp and refreshing when dining in, was this time mushy and salty. The flavor was good, but it felt like there was no nutrition — just fake duck blood and a bunch of artificial stuff.

They let the group who were behind us cut in line just because they have a bigger group. Does it mean that if I bring a group of 10 people then we don’t have to wait in line at all? We waited for almost 40 mins and just watched the other group cut. It’s ridiculous.
The worst Chinese restaurant in the san francisco bay area! First of all, There is no open sign on the window. The door was broken, When my dad ordered the bun, the female server was super inpatient, said they don't have this particular one, and then we ordered another cuisine, she said the price was increased up to $15.99, it was $13.99 before. We didn't have any choice at the time, so we ordered it. The kitchen told us the one we ordered was sold out around noon. The Funniest thing for this place was all the dishes were totally different from the menu, the owner daughter's explained, the menu book was printed out in CHINA. Then I asked her, because of the printing was made in China, so the menu's picture is supposed to be different? She said we opened this restaurant at least 5 years, nobody complaint about it even the pictures were totally different ! Then we walked it away.
Food is average. The atmosphere is bad. They allow non-service dogs in the restaurant that were consistently barking and causing issues. There were two tables when we were there, one table had 1 dog. The other table had 4 dogs. These were not service dogs, they were pet dogs. These dogs were constantly barking and causing noise and commotion. The dog owners had trouble controlling their dogs and staff did nothing to try to calm the situation. If you’re looking for a pleasant and nice atmosphere to enjoy a meal, please look elsewhere.
Extremely slow restaurant. Placed a takeout order and the restaurant took about 90 mins to prep the food, we had to wait at the parking lot for a very long time and they kept telling us they are preparing it and it’s gonna be quick.
Cigarette smoke coming from food prep area… pretty nasty
Took them an hour to make my order. The cashier was very polite. But the food sucks. There were so much orange peels in my orange chicken that I ate a peel every other bite. Plus the curry wasn’t really curry. Egg rolls were soggy. I love Chinese food. But this place was very disappointing.
We purchased a Chinese New Year set meal from your restaurant on 2/15/26, and after consuming it, one child and five adults developed symptoms consistent with food poisoning, including vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. We take this situation seriously and would like to bring it to your attention. We hope you can look into this matter and get back to us at your earliest convenience with an appropriate response.
The food was awful. The Twice-Cooked Pork with Chili came with two giant chunks of meat instead of proper slices—completely not what it should be. While the server did replace the dish after we pointed it out, the overall quality didn’t improve. The fried rice noodles were soggy and broke apart immediately, and the pig trotter still had large patches of hair left uncleaned. Hygiene was a serious issue. On the way to the restroom, I passed the kitchen and saw cooked beef just sitting in plastic crates directly on the floor. Service was mixed. The staff were polite when we spoke to them, but it was hard to actually find anyone. One server was sitting by the entrance playing mobile games and didn’t seem interested in helping. Not coming back.
To be fair the food is not bad if you love spicy. However we went there with kids and elderly so we ask for just little spicy. They said ok but seem did not do anything to the dishes. We had 7-8 dishes but came out as not a single one was cooked in less spicy. My family was disappointed
