Quick service even when crowded and tasty drinks. I've tried 3 different xing fu tang locations in Taiwan and this one is just as good in my opinion. Their Tainan store sells the #1 signature brown sugar boba milk for 2 USD, Ximen is about $3, Jiufen ~$2.50, and here it's $6.50 plus tax and they'll ask for a tip unlike Taiwan. Still a pretty reasonable price for the bay area I think, this small plaza actually has 4 boba shops in it and I think this is the best option if you're in the mood for dessert in the form of a drink.
I ordered the signature and the taro ones. Boba's texture is soft and chewy, However, the drink wasn't cold enough though since they only add a little bit of ice. Service is super friendly. Very long line. But please be patient with them since it's their grand opening. Shoutout to the girl that in the pick-up station. She's super nice to everyone and keeps saying, "Hope you enjoy your drink!" You can also ask her to take a picture to post on the wall, too.
One of the authentic boba milk tea that i visited.. I love how they make their fresh brown sugar boba.. whenever i come by here in this area i make sure that i visit this store.. I really love their milk tea ice cream very tasty and is not really sweet.. I also love their signature brown sugar milk tea and with the dalgona coffee on it.. It must a try.. ♥️♥️
Now that the initial crazy long lines after they opened are gone, this is a really good boba spot with nice clean interior and cute fortune telling sticks. Boba chain from Taiwan that’s famous for freshly hand rolled and cooked brown sugar boba. Really good with dark tea. I would recommend the no added sugar option because the boba has a layer of brown sugar coating. Their fruity options are also very good but don’t come with their famous brown sugar boba.
Even though the drinks took long to make, I understand that it is due to its fresh materials (still wish it could be faster though). The quality of the boba is in another level, might say it is gourmet 😂. The drinks aren’t as powdery as other places and the brown sugar boba is incredible. I usually don’t order boba pearls (in other places) because they are always hard, but xing fu tang changed my view and now I can freely order boba ☺️. This isn’t food related, but I like how they actually connect with the costumers. Always elevates my mood! 🩷🩷
We went there for the soft serve and it tastes awesome. Strong milk tea flavor with warm brown sugar boba in the bottle of the cute special plastic cone. I think it's better than Rabbit Rabbit Cream at Standard Shopping Center. We went there during Labor Day weekend in the afternoon and it's busy. Besides the classic brown sugar boba that they make fresh in the store every day on the counter, they also make other interesting toppings such as the red strawberry boba and white rabbit (coconut) and the pink giant jelly balls in other drinks
They are known for their brown sugar boba, which is constantly cooking in a huge wok. I’d recommend any drink with it, though I prefer it in creamier drinks. The boba is soft and chewy, more like mochi in texture, the brown sugar syrup is thick and gelatinous. There are two kiosks by the front doors to order from, and my biggest gripe is that ice can’t be customized. I ordered the brown sugar boba milk with Dalgona and at the end, there was just ice and quite a bit of boba left. I never finish my drink with this much extra boba, and I had boba in each sip, so would’ve been nice to order less ice. While the drinks are good, the cups are pretty small, maybe 12oz, so for the price you aren’t getting much drink. The large size upgrade costs $2 but wasn’t available during their grand opening. The space itself is very clean, spacious, and well decorated. There’s a few tables on one side and a cute wall of fortune where you can try your luck. You pick out a stick from the bin below, find the corresponding numbered box, and pull out your lucky paper. I don’t think grand openings are the best time to review a place, as the lines are out the door and wait times are longer. Despite this, their service was top tier. There was someone next to the kiosk answering any questions, we got a free brown sugar boba drink coupon for being one of the first in line, someone else helping with the fortune wall, and the overall vibe was warm and welcoming.
This is my 2nd time going here. I love the boba here, authentic Taiwanese boba. I also like the fact that they have milk options. And the boba is the right chewiness in it. For some reason the plaza where they are, the parking is almost always full, so you might be circling a few time before findong a spot. I would love to have for the place to have more tables but maybe because people order boba mostly to go, so they removed some of the chairs and tables. This is my fave boba in the bay area and will always come back whenever I can.
Discover why @xingfutang.california is Taiwan’s number 1 boba shop close to home! 🇹🇼🧋✨ Known for their signature handcrafted brown sugar boba, you can watch as they make their boba fresh in-house for the perfect chewy texture. But the indulgence doesn’t stop there! They also serve rich and creamy brown sugar boba soft serve! 🍦 Whether you’re craving a warm, caramelized drink, or a cool refreshing tea or sweet treat, every bite and sip is made with you in mind 🌹 Service is quick and easy through the kiosk and its cutely decorated everywhere.
The boba was so perfectly chewy, soft and fresh! The wait was not long at all, just having to wait for others in front of you to put in their orders on the kiosk. It was a cool experience to see the boba making in person. The soft serve with boba was so good. The combination was just perfect. We're planning to head back there again today.
Went to the grand opening and it was not as busy as I expected. I remember back in 2018 when Xing Fu Tang just opened in Taiwan and went viral on Instagram. So glad they opened one in the Bay Area! Ordered the famous Brown Sugar Boba Milk and Bunny Jelly Mango Smoothie. Signature Boba Sugar Boba Milk - 10/10 This is what I expect when I hear “brown sugar boba.” The fresh in house boba is cooked down in brown sugar, making it soft, sweet, and delicious! The drink itself doesn’t just taste like straight milk, but instead it’s kind of creamy & not too sweet. Bunny Jelly Mango Smoothie - 7/10 Not really my thing, but pretty refreshing on a hot day. The bunny jelly tastes like coconut & pineapple, overall a very tropical tasting drink.
I was here for the grand opening, so it's difficult to give a fair/accurate review so far. It was a bit chaotic with tons of people excited to try such an iconic boba place, but they managed the chaos quite well! At least for the grand opening, it did not seem possible to make many adjustments/customize the drinks. Even selecting a size was disabled. I got a Taro Milk Tea with Boba. It wasn't amazing, but it was good enough to make me want to try it again once the place has had some time to settle in.
I loved their drinks! Its a bit sweet but its soooooo good. You can see the tapioca being made and your drink is made in front of you. The bunny in my drink was very cute, I almost felt bad eating it. They do have sparse seating so if it gets busy I could see not being able to sit anywhere, but there at least is decent amount of parking in front
A new spot for California and the bay started in Taipei with the first locations opening in New York. The quality of the boba and tea are both top notch! The store is clean and professional but with limited seating. You can get a fortune each visit which is fun! The boba is stir fried in a large wok which is a fun experience to watch! Dubbed the Hermes of tea shops which feels accurate.
Tried their boba milk tea soft serve twice and really enjoyed it. The boba has a nice chew and flavor. They are pretty precise and generous with how much boba you get (used a scale). I'll definitely come back to try their drinks.
Trying their Signature brown sugar Boba Milk was one of the best choices I've made this year. It was beyond my expectation. I was not a fan of brown sugar milk as the drinks I tried at other stores were way too sweet even though the taste of brown sugar flavor is good. I had a chance to try the drink at this store because my family dragged me here - and it was surprisingly good, yuuuum! Their handmade boba were well-marinated and soft, the flavor of brown sugar mixed with milk was satisfying and especially with the right amount of sweetness. However, the texture of boba was gradually becoming harder due to the cold from the ice. But I dont mind, it's still amazing. The service was fast. I like how the decorated the interior setting - they even have the game called The fortune woodbox for customers to play while waiting, very thoughtful. Parking was plentiful at the time we came.
Saw it on Tiktok, had to experience in 10/10 freshly in house made boba with good energy, great staff and something I've never seen before, A fortune woodbox, this is so cute and was a new experience. We will 100% recommend and will be back !
Best boba I’ve ever had so far, and we go to a lot of places. The boba is freshly made and they are soft! The experience here is unique - you would see the boba being made and cooked. Highly recommended!
The boba was amazing. I got this mango milk drink, my sister got this strawberry with bunny jelly drink, and my cousin got the brown sugar milk, we also got the mango with bunny jelly. They all tastes really good and the bunny jelly tasted like coconut. I thought that the brown sugar was too sweet but my sister and cousin really liked it. The service was fast and it was easy to order. The way you order is you go to this screen and put in your order and then they make it for you. There weren’t a lot of people when I came and it was my first time and it was around 1 o’clock but my aunt said that they waited around 1 hour for there food, it was around 3 or 4 o’clock. They also had this fortune telling box- you take a stick and it gives you a number you find that number on a box and open that corresponding box. Inside the box has a fortune.- it was really fun and the kids really enjoyed it.

Brand new boba place that serves freshly made boba. Expect long lines during peak hours. I was fortunate to go when there was only 1 person ahead of me at the kiosk. Yes, you order at the kiosk and not with the cashier. For this being a new boba location, I would expect the staff to engage with customers because lots of people would have questions about their boba drinks. But there was no one to speak to until you get your drink. Lots of workers making the drinks but a miss to grow your customers loyalty. As for the drink, the boba tasted different compared to other boba. Not sure if it was the boba or drink it self. The boba is chewy and warm. I still prefer some other locations but I’ll give this spot another try.
hello viewers, After a countless boba place opening in the Bay Area, my friends are excited about this Boba place as it claims to be Taiwan No.1 boba place. I am not sure if I am aged or why I am not exciting when a new boba place open. I guess it's because too many boba stores open and I can't distinguish them one from the others. after coming to here, my friends and I decide to order all the signature drinks from Xing Fu Tang which are Brown Sugar, Mocha and Mango. you can remove the ice when paying $0.75 more, and I believe it's asian way to tell you how to mess around with their recipe. I decide to order everything as original set up to get the best experience. the drink taste with very dense, heavy milky favorite with warm freshly cooked boba, it gives you that lava cake with ice cream with temperature sensation. however, I enjoy my boba in ice cold and the 1/3 of boba, 1/3 of milk and 1/3 of ice simply leaving boba in lukewarm temperature. 😱 overall speaking, I can say Xing Fu Tang delivery one of the best boba experience if you are a boba fan. they are freshly make, sugar coated, and soft chew type. I consider the drink to be a dessert type rather than a refreshment. Paul
Took our kids there for Valentine's Day for fresh boba. They got to see how their boba were made from start to finish in their drinks. The boba was fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming here again.
I've never liked boba before, the tea is too sweet and boba is like chewing rubber balls. But this place so different. The bobas are authentic and real, freshly cooked, super juicy and actually tastes good. The price is also good, you'd pay the same price for rubber ball boba somewhere else. Definitely worth a try!
I have been to several XFT locations now. This one is the first in the Bay Area and it's very spacious. I was surprised to see it in a plaza with two other boba shops. The menu is pretty standard and they cook the boba on display as usual. If you like soft and doughy boba texture, check this place out! The drinks here are very rich and definitely not something I can drink often. Here's my drink recommendations: + Matcha Red Boba Milk + Blue Soda & Housemade Jelly + Brown Sugar Boba Black Tea Latte As for the Bunny Jelly Strawberry Smoothie, the drink is EXTREMELY SWEET! It's an artificial strawberry flavor that is syrupy in taste. I definitely would not recommend this one.
(May 2024) I got the Taiwanese Boba Milk Tea and Brown Sugar Boba Soft Serve. I liked both the drink and soft service but there was too much boba for the amount of drink and I would have enjoyed the soft serve without the boba because the hot boba melted the soft serve too much to my liking. I enjoyed watching the staff make the drinks and stir the boba. The fortune box was a fun thing to do while we wait for our order.
Parking is easy. Customers can order at self service machines or at the counter. The store looks clean. There are very limited seats. People can see how these boba are freshly made. The milk tea is average but I personally think that this brand has the best boba because it tastes more like mochi and a little bounce. I don't have to chew so hard.
Very unique experience with boba, but it was delicious! Tried staple brown sugar boba milk tea. It actually as warm fresh boba at topped with milk tea. Not too sweet , boba texture was good too. Only thing is that after missing it, the overall drink comes at room temperature rather than cold. Other than that, its really tasty.
Got the boba ice cream here and the boba is so good; fresh handmade boba cooked in house. I’m not sure how the tea is, but if you’re interested in a chewy ball fix this is your place.
I saw brown sugar boba milk from Taiwan on the Internet all the time and always I wanted to try it out. Seeing this boba store looks just like those, I decided to try it out. It was cool to see how they made boba. I ordered Signature brown sugar boba milk. The flavor was good, not too sweet. I liked the boba when it was still soft but it got harden quite quick when it got in contact with the cold milk. Because of that I didn't like it that much. They have fortune messages in wooden boxes here like what you see in Chinese temples. You can get a glimpse of your future (but seems like they're all bad luck haha)
The boba balls are actually pretty decent — soft, chewy, slightly caramelized. Everything else? Kinda average. Drinks are nothing mind-blowing, and it’s a bit pricey for what you get. That said, the space is nice — clean, roomy, good place to chill. But heads up: no Wi-Fi, which is a miss if you’re trying to hang out or get work done.

Xing Fu Tang in Milpitas offers a convenient way to grab a boba tea with their self-checkout kiosks. It's great for a quick pick-me-up, but be aware of the limited seating if you're looking for a place to relax and chat. Here's the deal: Xing Fu Tang is all about their boba/pearls. Their boba is sweet and chewy, and that is what makes their boba drinks sweet. I tried their signature brown sugar boba milk tea. Given the name of the drink, I was expecting the milk tea itself to be sweet, but that wasn't the case. The chewy boba itself held all the sweetness and not the milk tea. The milk tea itself had a frothy texture. Their boba drinks might be a bit one-dimensional for those boba enthusiasts who prefer a more balanced flavor profile. Their drinks are also a bit pricy compared to other options in the area. My small drink was over $7 and not worth the price.
I got the #1 and #4, love the softness + flavor of the brown sugar pearls. The flavor of the non-dairy milk they use doesn't fit well at all though, F to my lactose intolerant fam 😔 The fortune area was free + fun, and I liked that they show how they prepare pearls + drinks. Parking can be tight when it's busy--I suggest not going during peak hours and the little seating they have is usually full. Ordering is done through 2 kiosks and the line can be long.
This was my third visit, and I ordered the #1 sugar boba again. Unfortunately, it didn't taste as fresh as it did the previous times. It might have been due to it being a Monday evening with fewer customers, but the boba seemed undercooked and had a slight freezer-burn taste. I was also not pleased with the automatic 10% tip, especially given the decline in quality.
I’ve tried 4 different drinks here: signature Brown Sugar Boba Milk, taro Flavor Brown Sugar Boba Milk, earl Grey Boba Milk Tea Nondairy, Brown Sugar Boba black Milk tea. Overall, the bobas here are chewy in the morning or whenever they freshly made. Not recommended in the evening since all my drinks, the bobas are cold, hard, & not chewy at all. Since all their bobas using brown sugar, which is very sweet. I recommend add less or no sugar to the drinks.
Brown Sugar Black Tea Latte Review. Good: Boba and Brown sugar mixture on drink is one of the best . Their Boba is very chewy, flavorful and well prepared. Lactose free(non-dairy option available) Improvements: Teas are a bit lackluster in flavor. Maybe improve quality leaves or be prep.
The newest bobashop in the Bay Area. We found it out ftom friend. Since we like yo try new boba shops, we stop bybon weekend. It was a very busy day when we arrived. The interior is open and nice. Inside has couples of touch scrren monitor. You order from the kiosk with a touch screen. There are not many choices of drink yet. We order the one it shows the most popular one. While waiting, you can see how they make the boba from scratch. You can also see how they mix the boba to make brisn sugar boba. This is the second or third boba shop show boba mixing process in front of customers. At the shop while waiting you can also play the chinese fortune teller stuff like usually you do it at temple. You scramble long stick and pick one, then find drawer with same number and get the paper with words. The boba is good. For me, it is almost the same as other boba, which specializes in brown sugar boba.

Ordered the strawberry boba milk (#20) with zero sugar and it was very very sweet. I requested a less ice option in my order but was told, after already submitting the order, that it would cost extra, though the employee who told me didn’t have an exact idea of the cost ($0.75 or $1.00 was what he said). They clearly add a lot of ice (see pic). The boba itself was oddly inconsistent in texture consistency. There were some very soft almost melted, but some were sorta hard, and some in between. The size of the boba balls itself was also weirdly inconsistent and literally every few drinks with my straw and there would be a ball stuck in the straw requiring massive extertion to suck up (lol). Pretty annoying. Not much flavor in the boba either. They made a big deal of homemade boba but the quality control is definitely lacking. Price is pretty high especially for the low quality and quantity. There is usually a long wait too (10-20 min). I came in with high expectations but left disappointed. Overrated!!
Not as good anymore for ice cream flavor. They used to give the larger cup for XL size. This one appears to be the one that used to be the normal size. Not sure how small the normal size is now, but if it is smaller than this... The XL size isn't available online, so had to go in to order it.
This doesn't compare to the Taipei location at all. The boba flavor is correct -- but the texture is nowhere near as good. It was soft and slimy from being left out. The signature drink also didn't have any foam. I basically just got some milk with old boba and ice for $7.25. I had high expectations because the Taipei location was life-changingly good :(
EDIT 6/21/24. I always come here, was told to wait 25 mins for a new batch of boba, I say no problem. I leave for 6 mins and all of a sudden get a text that the boba is ready. I rush back, and they haven’t made it….cut to the “new batch of boba” and it is BAD. the boba was not cooked properly (undercooked it felt dry) and not the usual warm/soft/creamy. Very disappointed, will not go back for now. I think it depends on who’s making it and today it was bad. OG post: Easy ordering, clean place, you can see them make their iconic boba, it really is the best!!!! Will absolutely go back!
Came here for the first time because I was curious about how they keep their boba warm in the pot, but I was disappointed. The boba texture was too powdery. it felt like chewing clay, lol. The space was small and dimly lit, but the fortune stick added a fun touch to the visit.
