Great food wonderful service very friendly and accommodating. Love it!!
Place has been there since 1948. I remember my grandfather who lived down the block coming back with coffee in the morning for my mother from this diner. It still retains its retro appeal and is still a good little place to get good, reasonably priced and fast breakfast. Great lil diner that is a staple of Mineola's retro history.
Best old fashioned pancakes! Real butter and warm bottle of maple syrup!
Ever since I tried them for breakfast, they have been my go to spot for breakfast and lunch. They deliver very quickly and they always double check on everything to make sure the order is perfect. I love this place. No other diner in the area even close!! Great job!
Just like old times. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. Food was tasty and at the right temperature. You're doing a great job. Keep this place going!!!
Very good place to visit for breakfast or lunch. Service always top notch, food has never been disappointing.
It was a very nice diner with an old timey feel. Counter service and tables. Very nice staff and food comes out quickly and hot. Not a lot of parking, though.
I haven’t been here since I was a kid. Came back over the weekend after 15yrs! It’s great to know the service and food haven’t changed. Mike is very friendly and so is the rest of the staff. I also love how they’ve kept the interior the same. It’s very nostalgic and appealing. I will be coming back more frequently.
I had an excellent experience. Michael was ready with the coffee and my order arrived in no time. Passing by all these years (for a little over 30 years) I finally made the opportunity to drop by. Glad I did!
Great little gem diner which we enjoy occasionally when visiting from Queens for few years now. From the first time we visited, the staff remembered what we ordered and the ads on, likes and dislikes; i was floored. (months had gone by before our return). We were there again 2 weeks ago after a very long time and we enjoy the addition room expansion.Old fashion diner and fun people there. Locals and the occasional folks like us.Because I order take out when taking classes at the pottery studio near by, it doesn't disappoint and... I was asked if I wanted my usual!(again amazing memory)!!I decline this time to try something different!😊 Food is fresh, well prepared and it's consistent w it's quality. The affordable prices make you feel you've got a steal!😀 TY,Mike and Team🤗
Good food, fun staff. It's what a retro diner should be. I always look forward to the weekly specials menu, which has a lot of unique dishes you won't find anywhere else — like Pop-Tarts pancakes and Oreo waffles!
Delicious and fresh food, great service and super-cool retro feeling. Loved the vibe and atmosphere and will most definitely visit again when in the area! Highly recommend
Went for breakfast recently & throughly enjoyed my time! Service was great & staff were friendly! Food also tasted great & clean which is huge!
Mineola Diner is a great spot delicious local diner food. The prices are right, coffee is delicious and the casual atmosphere is perfect for families with young kids. We love their unique specials as well as their daily fare. We frequent this gem and will continue to do for years to come.
Excellent service and food. Love the atmosphere. Super friendly staff. BLT was delicious.
Great place for a traditional American breakfast. I enjoy their eggs, pancakes, bacon, turkey bacon, toast and corned beef hash. It’s fast and friendly service in a simple traditional small diner setting.
Every time we come to the Mineola Diner we have an awesome experience. The food is excellent and consistent. Please let the chefs know they are fantastic 🙏 👏 🙌 😊 Deleon/Guillen family
Best all around menu but make sure to check the specials. Always something different and tasty. Fun & friendly staff Great for brunch, Mimosas and all.
Excellent spot for a quick breakfast
Amazing home cooked food even down to the corned beef hash. "very few make hash homemade anymore" Love their new renovations and Amazing Brunch menu's. Always something new every week.
The food and service was excellent! Portion sizes were also really big. I love the classic diner vibes as well, will definitely be coming back.
Amazing food, fast service, kind and generous workers. A great environment to enjoy breakfast with family, friends and loved ones! I highly recommend
First time here . My family used to come here every Friday back in the 1950’s . I am so happy we finally made it . The Owner and workers are great . And picked up a Tshirt too!!! We will be back . My girlfriend unfortunately had a bloody nose , they got her ice and made sure she was ok . Wonderful experience
Having breakfast at this diner is like going into a Time Machine in all good ways. The decor is unlike anything you’ll see on Main Street. Then, the warm and genuine hospitality. This is a neighborhood diner and if delivers. My son would only have breakfast here and I drive 20 minutes to meet him there. The waitress (sorry forgot her name) is young, friendly, attentive and professional: a rarity these days. We always see familiar faces here which is the best proof that it’s a great place to eat.
My wife's and my favorite diner in a county full of great diners. Great breakfasts, all the classics plus some great original items. The structure is beautiful; this is an original old-fashioned diner, low-key and friendly. The food is perfectly cooked and delicious, there is a chef cooking here. Great atmosphere, great staff, always welcoming. Strongly recommend you try this place.
Love this diner experience. Loved the music, the decor, they were geared up for Halloween! Traditional diner food is the thing to get. Avocado toast was just cubed avocados on toast but everything else was spot on! My daughter loved her eggs and tater tots!
I passed this diner a few times an liked the old diner style look, so one day I stopped in. The vintage style look continued on the inside as well, booths were tight but comfortable. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The food was great and presented well. I think that the prices are on par with any other dinner. In the end the overall experience was good and I would go back to eat there
What a Gem! Just had breakfast there. Coffee was hot and food was amazing. Maple syrup was hot. Michael was a wonderful server! If you need a place to meet regularly with good friends this is it! Good thing I don’t live close I’d be there everyday!
First time here and I'm definitely coming back! Michael was great and the food came out super fast. Bacon tasted fresh homefries were on point(add grilled onions u won't regret it). I love the small intimate diners such as this one. See you guys soon!
My wife and I had lunch at this adorable 1950's style diner. I ordered a grilled cheese, bacon and tomato sandwich. It was absolutely the very best grilled cheese sandwich I ever had. The bread was buttery, and toasted to perfection. The bacon was cooked just right, and the cheese was gooey & melted perfectly. My wife had a delicious chicken salad sandwich. Even the potato salad was better than most that I have had. I definitely would recommend this little gem of a place. I will surely be returning there soon. Beware, they are only open for breakfast and lunch, and they close at 2 p.m.
A gem! I go here frequently for Sunday brunch. They vary the specials / brunch menu and the different kinds of pancakes are creative and delicious. It is owner- run and worked. They are as friendly as can be. A family feel, quick service and charming historical venue. Recently renovated and expanded. Very reasonable prices.
Great diner. The corned beef has was fire. Can't wait to try more stuff. Service was nice and also fast Edit: I tried more stuff. Great. The daily specialties are great. Fun and tasty french toast without going over there top
Old school Diner! Must-visit this vintage place!
Great food from great people. Everything has a classic diner feel and taste. The staff is always coming up with new, delicious specials. I try to get here as often as I can with my family. If you are in Mineola you HAVE to stop and eat here.
Just left this great little diner. Not only was the food delicious the server was hilarious and super nice. They made us feel like we have been going there for years. We will definitely be back .
Great food, great staff, great service, great atmosphere and SUPER DELIGHTFUL WAITRESSES !
All our food was really delicious this afternoon! I had the Monte Cristo with regular fries and an iced tea. My boyfriend had pancakes two eggs and home fries and orange juice. Our food came out very fast. Staff was great. The conversations going on around the diner were great as well. I hadn't had a Monte Cristo in probably decades. And this one certainly did not disappoint. The portions were very well sized. I had to have a box to take part home. I will certainly be back here again next time I'm in the area!
Best, egg sandwich. Update because AI wants to know what makes their exam. How much the best their bread is fresh and fluffy. The eggs are cooked to perfection the bacon is savory crispy and melts on your tongue. The Owner and staff are rockstars and may this place be around for my children and grandchildren to enjoy
Been wanting to come to this Diner for so long finally me and my wife stopped in today for breakfast. Turns out everything we ordered was perfect from the omelette, French toast and coffee is so perfect it’s a nice place for great food we will be returning back to try out there burgers next !! I will recommend this diner to all my family friends I’m a diner person .Also I met one of the owners and the staff is very friendly and alsy get you what you need and you don’t have to wait
Very nice old school diner. Nice greeting upon entering. Nice menu selections. Quick service. Good food. I had a classic BLT on white with fries and a drink. Very good. The price was right too. I'll be back. Thanks...
We hadn’t been here in quite a while, but we were in the neighborhood and decided to stop and have breakfast. My wife had the mixed-in-batter banana pancakes, with warm syrup-a delicious delight. Some of the best we ever tasted (happily she let me have some). I had the Greek omlette-seemed much larger than just 3 eggs. But what made it memorable was the toasted croissant! There’s a reason they are celebrating 75 years.
This diner feels like home. It is quaint with good food and service. The owner has a beautiful personality that keeps you coming back!
By far the best breakfast diner food I’ve ever had. And that’s not an overstatement. I’ve been here several times and the consistency is always there. Service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. One of my favorite spots and now they serve MIMOSAs for brunch. Highly recommend.
Is a good family breakfast place and everything is good, thank you. This place remembered the PANTRY in Los Angeles.
I didn't want a salad because everything looked so good on the menu. Also, I was on the run and needed food to go. So, I ordered my salad, plotting my return for something more delicious on the menu. But the damn salad was delicious, and they threw in some salt and pepper, which most people never do for take out anymore. I don't live close, but I will plan my next visit around my next meal here. I can't wait.
Fantastic and clean food at the retro Mineola Diner! I highly recommend the Spanish omelette which was stuffed with sauteed celery, carrots, and onions in a jalapeño tomato based sauce...delish!
Great, friendly and fast service. Small parking lot plus metered street parking. Usually we go for breakfast / brunch and spend about $40 for 2.
Friendly attentive staff.... great diner food at great prices.... just what you'd expect from a neighborhood diner
This was my first experience at the typical American diner from 1920s. The servers and the manager here are friendly and welcoming. The food really tasted delicious. We had a Spanish omelette and Whole heat pancake which both tasted amazing. The maple syrup was served warm, which added another level of flavor to the pancakes! The portions don’t look like, but are huge and you’d struggle to finish up your plate! 😅 We would love to visit this place soon again for some Sunday breakfast!
We were pleasantly surprised here! Extremely clean and good food all around the table. Quality over quantity. Loved the eggs Benedict!
A historic part of Mineola since 1948, this diner is very nostalgic for me. The last time I was there was in 1965 as a young high school senior with 3 of my friends looking for a good meal! That was more than a half a century ago, and the food was as good then as it is now. You get a real family feeling from Mike and the other wait staff, the food is fresh and tasty. Enjoy!
The diner was a good classic diner, nothing blew my mind out of proportion, the service wasn’t out of this world. Plus I got the burger and it came out medium rare like I asked but when I took a bite all I tasted was bread, good place to go if your in the are and you are hungry
Good classic diner experience. Pancakes were spot on and the omelet was good as well. I love the vibe of an old diner and you can really feel that here.
This place is hailed as the "World's smallest diner". While not entirely the case, it is a smaller diner than most I have been to. That being said, the food is excellent and the service good. If there is room at a booth or the bar, I will definitely be spending my weekend mornings here when able!
Terrible parking. Great banana pancakes. Weird choice to use a liquor spout for pancake syrup. Probably saves them money but it's not worth the aggravation to the customer. Initially crowded, was seated immediately.
Excellent brunch 👌🏾 Moderately priced
You can't tell a book by it's cover. From the outside it doesn't look so nice. I guess it looks like a vintage diner. The items on the menu sound amazing. It was hard to choose. I was afraid to order some of them because they sounded too good. Serving sizes were enormous. I ordered a half or of banana nut pancakes & I was still not able to finish it. The service was excellent. Although, my breakfast mates were disappointed with their Greek omelet. Thought it needed more ingredients.
Burgers are good. Breakfast even better. Sit in the front of the diner, on old fashioned stools at the counter. Or, booth, both are comfy. But, you want to get a feel for the place, that nostalgic era. Sit in the back, you will see it's modern with large views. Whether you're alone or with a friend or two,you will be comfortable. The employees know the regulars and their meal requests, this is nice to see. Pricing is reasonable, this is refreshing. The bathroom is tiny, can't have everything.
Food was pretty good but pricing was a bit on the expensive side. Our waitress was a really cute old woman who was super sweet. She made sure we were well taken care of and offered us coffee or tea as soon as we sat down. A pretty quaint joint if you ask me. Would love to come here again.
Stopped in on a Sunday at around noon to grab a quick (late) breakfast to go before hitting the road back to New Jersey. Everyone working there that we interacted with seemed very friendly, and we probably placed our order and got the food within 5 minutes. It was that quick. I just had a sausage and cheese on a roll. I wish the cheese was more melted, but not a huge deal. Hubby got a sausage, egg, and cheese wrap and added bacon, and he said it served its purpose.
Had a nice breakfast recently at Mineola Diner. A very cozy diner with friendly staff, inviting service, and a bit of old-time Diner feel. I must mention something important, at least to me, the cost of meals at Mineola Diner are more efficient than other area diners. With the cost of even Diner meals going up, this establishment can offer the same fare as other places but for less. I hope this doesn't change. Parking can be tricky, and there may be a wait. But patrons get turned over fast enough.
Arrived during a rush and ordered breakfast items. The food did not arrive for 40 minutes, when the waiter was asked for an ETA the responded "Its the kitchen, I have no control over that." Given the length of time we waited we requested the manager. The manager was fantastic in dealing with the issue. Our food came out shortly after he visited our table and offered a dessert on the house. Given the length of time we waited, for quick items like eggs and pancakes, we really appreciated his response. The food was fantastic and they've got some innovative recipes that make your mouth water, definitely worth a try!
Service has always been good and the food is solid but I wish they would put more cheese in the omelettes. Also, their fries are some of the worst I’ve ever had. My guess is they aren’t using fresh oil for their potatoes, which isn’t great…
Very cute cozy diner. Came here for breakfast and ordered the corned beef hash, omelettes, pancakes. Everything was delicious, especially the pancake was super fluffy. Extra bonus point was the warm syrup. Will definitely go back for the pancake and try other items. Everyone was friendly and we felt welcomed. Thank you
It's a diner, and the atmosphere is exactly what one would expect. I was there for lunch, near closing time, so while the service was friendly, they were a bit distracted. Having worked in restaurants, I completely understood why. I noticed it, but it did not upset me. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak, which was excellent. The sandwich was large enough that I took home half and my son had it for dinner. It came with fries that tasted fresh, not frozen. I will definitely return.
Good food at affordable prices. The waitress was great! Friendly, welcoming and attentive!
In NY on the weekend, and we went to the Mineola Diner. We were nearby, and the reviews looked pretty good. We were greeted and seated right away. Each staff member was very pleasant and helpful. Our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive during our entire visit. Four of us ordered different dishes. The breakfast menu had some very unique items. Our food arrived very soon after ordering. All of our food was hot and came just as we requested. Each item was well-prepared and very tasty. We are looking forward to our next visit to the Mineola Diner!
Mineola Diner on the cross street between Jericho Turnpike and Willis ave. This is a good, reliable consistent local diner serving all the breakfast and lunch basics and then, taking it up a notch or two with specialty & innovative plates. My wife and I sat down for a quick breakfast & were delighted to meet our fantastic server Vicky. We ordered coffee, bacon, turkey bacon, eggs Benedict, eggs, pancakes, corn beef hash & toast and had no major issues that would push me to not recommend this interesting throwback diner. If you're a local or in town looking for all the breakfast & lunch staples.. Mineola Diner is for you.
A bit too expensive 🫰🫰🫰 but on the road a nice place to stop by
It gets busy in the morning so be prepared. Food looked sloppily thrown together. Taste was ok. Waitress spilled coffee from the pot on my arm. Lol
Food and service are all below par. Won’t come here again.
The food was good. Sat next to the restroom and waiter station. There are lots of slamming plates and the smell of the urinal. I am sure if our seats were in another part of the diner, it would have been a 4.
Interesting small diner. Pleasant service and atmosphere. With that said, I got adventurous and ordered the fried shrimp dish for lunch. When I asked the waitress how it is, she said that customers like it. When it was served, all the shrimp were inedible. They looked like they died in the freezer or were just bad. The waitress immediately took them away, and I ordered an omelet instead, which was fine. The man behind the counter then said, "Yeah, a few people had complained also." Yet they still served it. The bottom line, seems like a good place for locals. Decent for breakfast, wouldn't recommend any of their more "exotic" dishes like the combo fish platter. Only space for 3 cars in the parking lot, but street parking is available.
Cute little diner, the food was ok wasn’t that good. Service was good. The seating was a bit cramped but other than that it’s great if you don’t want to cook and want fast breakfast.
Locals have inflated the ratings. This is a 2-3 star at best diner. You can taste other food from the griddle- would have been nice to eat eggs without charcoal pieces of home fries, etc… in them.
The food was nothing crazy. Found it fairly bland. Their lemonade tested like water. Nice atmosphere and good staff. But if you want good food, not the place.
We went here recently on a Saturday morning while staying nearby for a wedding. I'm not sure where the other reviewers are eating, but the positive reviews led us astray. The food was mediocre and uninspired, even for diner food. The service was awful, and our server didn't speak English well enough to understand my diabetic father's questions about the menu items (and didn't offer to get someone else to help). And the "atmosphere," such as it was, was bad — faux retro diner pastiche, with some kind of right-wing talk radio blaring on the speaker system. As we were leaving, I spotted this lonely cookie in the display case, which really tells you whether this is the place for you or not. There are many better options nearby.
Scrambled eggs were rubber although I didn't ask for them to be hard and the homemade hash had a unusual texture and lacked flavor. I was surprised as I have eaten there in the past, albeit a year to two years ago, maybe they are under new management. I was very disappointed. They won't be seeing me anymore.
There was an uncomfortable amount of arguing between the waitstaff and cooks right next to our table. Our waitress also left the restaurant halfway into our meal and we were abandoned for a while. We got a shrug as a response as we tried to find a way to pay. Safe to say never again.
Went to have breakfast this morning, found 6 ants around our booth before even ordering food. We were located to another table, ants, and remnants of an egg on the floor. When brought up to the waiter, he really didnt apologize, yet didnt do anything to rectify the situation. We had just placed our order and he asked if we wanted to take the food to go. We refused and left. If we are seeing multiple ants outside the kitchen, we were concerned about the cleanliness and safety of what was being served
I’ve ordered from here a few times, and unfortunately it keeps getting worse. This time I finally decided to leave a review and post a photo. I ordered a BLT with turkey — the turkey was ice-cold like it came straight from the freezer, the bacon was half-cooked, and even though I requested no mayo, the sandwich came with a huge glob of it. On top of that, there were way too many tomato slices, placed directly on the bread, making everything soggy. The lettuce was old, as you can clearly see in the picture. The whole thing was just not appetizing at all. Packaging was sloppy too. Sorry, but I won’t be ordering again. Three times and you’re out.
I walk in there at 237pm...the guy tells me their closed at 230pm..I guess they have no interest in the lucrative dinner business or providing service to the community....apparently it's all about being open the minimum amount of time per day to just survive. Sad They might consider selling the place to a person interested in running a diner not a breakfast spot.
