Delicious food and great service

Small town burger joint, another favorite hole in the wall serving good quality food. Burger was flavored and crafted just like the good ole days. Fresh cut fries were awesome. Can't go wrong here. Food served hot, friendly patrons and wait staff.

This is a really great place for breakfast! If you like a mixed plate, the kitchen sink is delicious! The chicken you get on the chicken & waffle special is 2 huge chicken tender strips. The waffles are crispy and delicious! Their prices are very reasonable! Would come back again & again!

No wonder it looked like half the town was there at 10:45am on a Tuesday! Straight up hometown legit breakfast. Wonderful and friendly staff, fast service, and just some good food. Thanks yall!

We stayed at Lake Mineral Wells State Park and stopped here Sunday morning on our way back home. The food was awesome, and so was the service. Will definitely make this a normal stop for breakfast when we are in the area!

This greasy spoon never disappoints. Serves breakfast all through their open hours. The diner is often buzzing with local charm and conversation. Servers are experienced and cheerful and the menu offers a variety of food choices. The owners are almost always on the floor filling coffee cups and checking out patrons. Lively atmosphere and Great place to eat.

This is the friendliest local cafe I've been in in a long time. The people are very happy to see you and are very talkative. They genuinely care about the people they know and they will come to know you and by name if you go there enough. There's always a good conversation and really good food. They do breakfast and lunch but not dinner. That's okay however, because the food they cook is really good and at a really good price.

I walked in on a Saturday as they were opening up. The staff was dressed up for ST Pattis day having a good time. The menu offers a good variety and for the price it has a solid value. I took my servers recommendation and had the french toast. It was excellent. I will dine here again if I pass through.

I have been here on 3 visits. The staff always cheerful with great attitudes. I have only had two different dishes but both were amazing. So good that on the third visit I made a repeat order. I highly recommend Jimmy's Cafe if you are in the area!

Been coming to Jimm's since the previous 2 owners were here. The current owners are great owners. They really are servants at heart and go out of their way to make you happy. The food is always great. My family eats here almost every day at least once and sometimes more. This is home away from home!

It's no surprise there was a wait early Saturday morning for seating. The food is excellent. The service is outstanding. The prices are well beyond reasonable. You simply can't do wrong on service of food eating here.

Couldn't be better. New owner is one of the few honest businessmen in town. Service is outstanding, food is outstanding. Prices are a bit low. Raise them so you're profitable, make sure you tip the waitresses well! I don't ever want Jimmy's to go away!

Make it a point to come here every time I visit family in the area. Usually one of the best chicken fried steaks. This past week I was a bit disappointed as the chicken fried steak was overcooked and almost burnt. Despite that I still believe they are worthy of 5 stars overall as all other experiences have been outstanding.

I had the Club sandwich (bacon, ham, cheese, and mayo), and it was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and the food arrived pretty fast, even during peak lunch time. I definitely recommend Jimmy's Cafe for a great lunch at a reasonable price!

Always a pleasure to eat at the hometown cafe. There's almost always some silly gossip about the people at the next table or the staff or somebody!! It makes for some giggles and gratitude. The place has been busy every time I've gone. The Tea is great. The service is great. It's hard to mess up bacon! And you cant go wrong with gravy. Thank you for the good times and good grub!

My friend and I were looking for a place to eat. I turned on that street, knew there was a place. It was packed. People were friendly as soon as we walked in. Seated right away. Waitress answered our questions, it was our first time there. I had the chef salad, it was delicious. It had three different kinds of meat on it plus a boiled egg. My friend had the chicken fried steak. Large size with all the sides. We both left full. We plan on going there again. The cafe also serves lunch and breakfast all day. It was packed, as soon as a table of people left, more were seated. Great place to eat.

I judge a breakfast spot on their coffee. It was excellent and we never saw the bottom of our cups! The staff was super friendly both times we went. The food was exactly what we ordered and was delicious! Definitely the best breakfast spot in Mineral Wells that we've found so far!

This has got to be one of my favorite restaurants in the whole country. The menu looks typical, boring even, but the quality of the food is second to none. Everything's fresh, perfectly cooked, and and perfectly seasoned. Great attention to detail from both the kitchen and the wait staff. Reasonable prices. Glad I stopped in.

Great little breakfast place reasonable as price and service is great. Good home southern cooking. It's has a dinner style inside. Short wait if they are filled. But they are filled for a reason! it's where all the locals go to eat good food.

Breakfast: eggs, sausage, bacon, pancake, biscuit & gravy, French toast, coffee. It was all delicious! We are staying at the state park and came into town to check it out. I am glad we chose this plans and would come again. The service was really good and the employees were super nice and friendly.

Y'all need to order the chicken and waffles special, because it's amazing!!!!!!!! I had never tried one that was as good as this one. Fried to perfection, so yummy breading. Crunchy waffle yet so tender and steamy inside. I want to head to mineral wells just to have me one of these again. Thank you guys!!!! Also the girls are very nice. Don't forget to tip y'all!!

If you want a classic diner vibe this is it! We sat at the bar and enjoyed visiting with the staff while they were busy serving. They were very busy and we had to wait a bit for our food but we were patient, they were so busy. My sons got the chicken tender kids meal and it was so delish! If we’re ever traveling back through, we will stop by for more.

Boyfriend and I are visiting for the weekend and thought we’d stop here for breakfast, and they did not disappoint! You can tell this place is a local favorite with the amount of people filling up the place, and even then we were able to be sat and served almost immediately after walking in! The service was lovely and the food was delicious, we have no complaints! Definitely recommend this place

I was contemplating whether to give this review 4 or 5 stars, and ended up doing 5 primarily due to how good a value I thought our breakfast was. The service was also outstanding but in every other way this was very much a cafe. Wide open area, lots of tables, somewhat noisy with fast and good (but not great) food. Perfect. 🙂 We’d go back.

Very friendly and fast service. The chicken fried steak was small (okay for lunch) but had a great flavor and no gristle.

We always have the most sweetest girls as our waitress here. Everyone is nice, the food is always excellent. Never have to wait on asking for more coffee, someone is always walking around. Never have had a bad time here. Love it..

It was jammed packed when I went but they did a phenomenal job. I was 3rd in line when I arrived and they were able to seat my party fairly quickly. I was impressed with the prices and the breading they use for the chicken was the perfect amount of salt and crisp to it.

Great food, amazing servers, affordable price! Clientele is across the board great. I dont go anywhere else and feel as comfortable as I do here! Its not uncommon to see groups of vets having coffee or strangers talking to each other at the next table. Its like home when you're out to eat!

Laurie and the crew at Jimmy's are awesome. This is easily the best place in town to get breakfast. They were hosting a full house but had a clean table ready to go. Immediately served us beverages and took our orders. Food came out fast hot and they are not shy with the portions. I had the hamburger steak and that gravy is definitely made with love as is everything else on the plate. Thank you guys. I will be back!

7/5/25 update - The restaurant has the best food around! All meals are served all day - a step above the other places. Daily specials typically include an entree and 2-3 large sides, all for an exceptional price! --- Wonderful place! We shared a Spanish Omelette that came with hash browns and two biscuits with gravy. Food was excellent with prices to match! Highly recommend this place!

Breakfast at noonish. I had to have the country fried steak, two eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. All the cars outside may make it seem like they will have a long wait time, however we got a seat right away. For the two of us it was around $30. I recommend sitting near the order station, it's fun to listen to The waitresses talk to the Cook. ;) loved it.

Out here on the road traveling with my uncle and we stopped in on this place on our journey, and Samantha was great, good sense of humor the food was pretty dang good and the prices were even better. Where I’m from a cup of coffee is about 6 dollars a cup so really appreciate the hospitality and the warmness of this place as well as the locals that are part of it. Definitely recommend.

Edit 2 years later: Made it back up here and it was still pretty amazing. I think the prices went up just a bit but its worth every penny. My only complaint would be that there was zero distancing between tables and fox news was playing on all of the TVs but thats not about the food. Please try this place if you pass by. This is one of those TV perfect diners that has all that small city charm. They greet customers by name and are all super friendly. The food is amazing! Large portions, fantastic prices. I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. -Edit. All of that food plus coffee was only a little more then 10 dollars. Those were easily top 3 best pancakes I've had my entire life. We ended up taking left overs and it was still just as good. No wonder this place was packed!!

Delish. But my husband ordered 3 eggs and it was literally the exact same amount of eggs I got which was a very very small 2 Scrambled. Still loved it though.

Home style cooking. Family atmosphere. Great food. Had a long wait as the place was full and suspect this is normal as the food for the price was great. Took about an hour to get our food. But worth the wait. Not many vegan/vegetarian offerings only found some offering in the sides menu.

Friendly staff and home town atmosphere. Had an omelette, biscuits and gravy and coffee for breakfast. All was delicious. They had powdered creamer on the table, so if that’s not your thing, not sure if they have any other creamer. Would definitely have breakfast here again when we come back through town.

The place was clean had a old mom n pops dinner vib to it but was nice to go to. The server could have came around more often but she was very nice when she came over. The food was good and didn't take to Long to get out to us. Would definitely go back to it.

We arrived at 9am. It was pretty busy. I love the breakfast options and portions. The prices are reasonable for the quality. We waited a bit for our food. I also prefer more than one restroom per gender. Other than that, I like this restaurant.

It's was a decent, priced very reasonably, and super sweet staff.

Nice little cafe. Got a bacon cheeseburger with jalapenos and fries and my niece got the kids chicken strips and fries. Burger was pretty good nothing special.. the fries were very disappointing..homemade fries but soggy and barley fried..my nieces chicken strips were a joke the were paper thin and black not cooked very good or with love. I'll try one more time and see if breakfast is better

My buddies and I took a motorcycle ride to Mineral Wells on a nice Sunday morning. I was looking for a good breakfast spot and saw some great reviews. I was pleasantly surprised to only wait 10 minutes for a table of six at 10 am on a Sunday. This staff is so friendly too! This is a good ole fashioned diner that was willing to serve breakfast, lunch or even dinner if we wanted. The food was good! Loved the biscuits and the bacon was on the thicker side too! All for under $15. Impressive!

Stopped here for lunch when we first got to town. They serve a great variety of breakfast all day and lunch, with daily specials. Prices are so much better here than DFW area. For $9.95 you choose an entree and 3 sides, with a roll, dessert and iced tea or coffee! What a bargain. Entree wasn't a large portion but plenty for lunch. We went back the next morning and had a wonderful breakfast 🥞

Good and inexpensive food, but the place was packed like there wasn't a pandemic which was a real turn off and made me uncomfortable while I waited to pick up my food. I arrived about 5 minutes late pick it up because I know it is a diner, but it still wasn't ready for another 10-15 minutes. Not all the staff were wearing masks as mandated, which is important for a person like myself who has an underlying condition.

Service was great! The pancakes on the other hand well!!! One side wasn't done n the other side was burnt. She gladly went n got some better ones. Not sure what the batter is cuz they really didn't have any taste to them. But I'll still go back..

Today was not a good experience. Me and my husband went in for breakfast, I had a pancake, 1 egg over medium and 1 sausage. The waitress didn't bring my syrup for the pancake which was cold and slightly under cook. I wasn't given any butter either. The egg was cooked just like I ordered so I put that on my pancake in place of syrup. The coffee cup was kept full. My husbands food was just the way he ordered it.

Sweet tea was good as well as the side of mac & cheese. Green beans were ok, but the breaded chicken was overcooked to the point that the whole thing could not be eaten or even cut easily. I'm surprised the cook even sent it out. The waitress staff were very friendly.

I ate here after reading the good reviews and had the double cheeseburger because of a pic that was posted that looked good. Mine was so bad I only ate a few bites and left most of it along with the grease soaked and overcooked onion rings. The hamburger patties were way way overcooked. I sat at the counter and watched all the orders coming out and was all the fried food which almost everything was super duper over cooked. They took over 30 minutes to make my burger and added bacon which I didn't ask for. The service was just ok. I will never return to this place and definitely wouldn't recommend.

I waited an hour, no food. Really wanted the chicken fried steak. I've had it before and it's fantastic. This trip, I never got my food. Don't know what went wrong, but I will say this was highly unusual for them.

The reviews were great. We came in with our family of 4 and the service was absolutely terrible. I have never been treated this way in any restaurant. Our waitress was apparently the owner's daughter or relative. She actually yelled at my husband for asking about our meal. She was extremely abrasive and rude. Jimmy the owner wouldn't say anything against his daughter. We didn't even get to try the food. I couldn't eat after the awful service. It was that bad.

The waitresses were fantastic. The home fries had something that had soured on them. We couldn't eat them. The biscuits were hard and tasted like old rancid grease. The 3 egg omelet was overcooked, making it tough. Even my freind said the same thing about their breakfast.

We were so disappointed we heard nothing but good things about jimmies food and we’re excited to try it but it was hands down the worst breakfast we’ve ever had. The home fries were so greasy and had zero flavor I couldn’t finish them My CFS cut was really tough and my biscuit tasted like old oil or grease it was so bad. The servers were absolutely wonderful though! Maybe we could try it again in the future but I hope they figure out the food and fix it.

I have been here many times and never been disrespected like I was today. As a veteran I am unable to sit in the middle of a big group of people. Me and my family were left standing as the only empty table was for groups of 5 to 8 people who may or may not have shown up. We had 4. When I brought this up and tried to explain that I needed to be able to have my back against the wall the waitresses got loud with me. At this point I decided I would leave and I will not be giving Jimmy's my business anymore, especially if this is how you guys treat veterans or people in general.

When we went, there was a big black hair on my husband’s plate of food under his eggs. It was gross and he completely lost his appetite. He pointed this out to the waitress who said… oh sorry, I’ll tell them in the back. She didn’t offer to comp his meal or anything to resolve the situation which she should have. We won’t be going back any time soon.

I hated my food but my family liked theirs. The hashbrowns were not actually done and my eggs were really runny. My daughter had the pancakes though and they were good. The sausage was gross to me.
