California Fish Grill

We work in the Mission Hills area and provide lunch for our clients everyday. We order from Cali Fish Grill often and it is always "to go," and always delicious! We have experienced the salmon specialty dishes, the tacos, salads and many of the sides (all of which are yummy). Three times now I have had their "for a limited time," ceviche. I will be very sad when it is no longer available as it is so good! The menu caters to a healthy diet which we very much appreciate when we eat restaurant food everyday for lunch. The only bummer is that they have "poke" listed on the menu but I have yet to see it as, available. I have eaten inside before but it's a little cold and unwelcoming. There is outside dining available which is always nice when the weather allows it. The staff are pleasant and attentive.

Amazing Fish. The fish and chips were the best I have eaten so far, even better than ones I have eaten in England. The Atlantic salmon was also yum. Perfect balance of sauces. Great Ambiance and very reasonably priced. All in all a superb experience. Highly recommended!

Promptly greeted, the cashier was great at giving recommendations. Food came out Promptly at the appropriate temperatures. Calamari strips were crisp, fries were warm and crisp, dynamite shrimp bowl was flavorful, properly portioned and flavorful with the right amount of heat. My fiancé's salmon salad was seasoned properly.

I ordered for the first time here and the experience was awesome! Very easy to order online. For my personal taste food was awesome!! Food portions are perfect. The pricing is just right. I will definitely order here and I m hopeful that it will be a great experience. Thank you CFG for letting us enjoy a very tasty and delicious grilled fish.

I also got their Grilled Chicken Sandwich with fries and my fiancée got their Jumbo Shrimp with brown rice and beans. I thought their Chicken Sandwich was delicious, the seasoning was perfect and it had a little spice in it. If you dine inside, just know that they check vaccination here and they bus your table for you.

The workers were courteous and the cooks were efficient. Their menu has a wide variety of scrumptious affordable fish dishes. We had the fish and chips, Cajun shrimp taco plate and the spicy tofu bowl. All were very good! We ordered our food online and their website was easy to read and navigate. We are pleasantly surprised and they more than exceeded our expectations for this fast food restaurant and plan to eat here regularly. Note: The restaurant is not visible from Sepulveda Blvd. use the rear parking lot near the the 24 hr. fitness gym.

Very nice and satisfying meal. I had the Salmon and Swai combo with the garlic butter sauce. It also had zucchini with rosemary and the brussel sprouts. Everything tasted delicious, specially the brussel sprouts.

The fish was a little dry but it had good flavor along with the garlic butter they put on top. That was very good. If the fish was a little more moist it would be excellent. The Brussel sprouts were delicious. My mom got the Atlantic Salmon with a side salad, brown rice and asparagus. The asparagus was yummy too. Love the selection of drinks. They had an agave, vanilla cream soda which I added to my regular Pepsi. It was very good. They had other unique flavors as well. Love the space of the restaurant. There's enough spaced out seating inside as well as outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and they had the order completed promptly. I'll definitely return.

Don't bother with extras like parmesean garlic bread, it's not worth eating. Kaleslaw was good but too much dressing. Liked that fries were crisp and in a separate bowl so as to not get soggy. Yes, I'd go back on a warm day and sit outside but careful what I order. Dress warm if inside, im not easily chilled.

You order at the counter and it is delivered to your table. Staff is friendly. Food is consistently good. I would prefer a chunky clam chowder, but the flavor is well balanced and I order it every time.

Check your salads more closely before you leave! Their so called “Keto” salad was shortchanged in its ingredients. They also did this to another customer and got their salad incorrect leaving many of the toppings/ingredients out that was supposed to be in the salad. While the food is good, their service and lack of concern for the customer when an issue is addressed is in the forefront and noticed. If you order food to go, always check! It’s bad enough to fight to get into and out of this parking lot so why spend $30+ for orders that are lacking the correct and full ingredients while at the same time potentially seeing others not getting what they order as well and feeling like they did something wrong. (Especially the seniors that were in front of us)

This place cannot get a food request correct for the life of it. This could be a wonderful eatery, but the cooks, they are not chefs, cannot take requests on food orders. I asked for the veggies to be grilled well, they weren’t but the fish was dried out over cooked. This is not a 1 time occurrence, but seems to be more of a constant recently. So disappointed!

I have only ordered twice and for pick up. Both times food was not ready. The first time I got there the food wasn't ready and I had to wait 20 minutes until the food was ready. The second time I ordered I arrived 10 min after scheduled time. Looked at the pick up shelve and my food was not on the shelve. As other people were waiting for There order I asked an employee if the line I was waiting for is the online pickup and she said to look at the shelve if my order is not there then it's probably not ready. So I wait a few min and asked another employee and took a look at my receipt and said my food has been ready. So the food was never packed and put on the pickup shelve. The people are good employees they just need better management or more employees. Food is not bad

I ordered the two fish taco combo. The fish was great, lightly battered and cooked perfectly. The sides I got not so good. The zucchini while not over cooked had way too much seasoning and the beans were more like bean soup, probably got about ten beans altogether. They really should strain them. I'd go back for two tacos a la carte. My sister got the cajun shrimp with brown rice. She seemed happy with it.

Bad customer service! Cashier was so rude! For no reason! Wouldn't even give me soft drink, which was included in combo! She lied! and said , if you want a drink , buy it, and the other cashier told me she was lying! Wow! and to just ignore her! Her name is Villarreal.

I was so excited to try this place, unfortunately it was not what I expected 😕 I order fish and chips, fries were good, kale salad as well, but the main course, fish, battered to thick and fish under cooked. I respect food, so will wrap it up and finish cooking at home.

ZERO STARS. I recently placed an order from the Mission Hills location and was shocked to find something incredibly dangerous in my food. My plate—which included fries, dynamite corn, and grilled branzino—also came with a metal nail. Yes, you read that correctly a grilled fish kitchen apparently also includes extra toppings on the side, such as METAL NAILS. We contacted the Mission hills location that day and were advised that a manager would reach out. Also, that they would review the camera footage to see what happened. Nobody ever followed up. We notified the headquarter office, letting them know that we had also contacted Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and reported this matter. However, the only reason they actually followed up with us was because of our Yelp review. This was their concern. Since then we have received absolutely no explanation or resolution as to how a freakin nail ended up in my food. The lack of urgency and communication is unacceptable. A metal nail in a prepared meal is a serious health hazard, and it should be treated as such. If you care about your health or your family’s, then don’t order from this place.

This place is always the definition of mid I don’t know why I keep thinking it’s going to change. Went there last night with my family and the food just seemed old and not fresh, the French Fries were not even hot when they came to the table. My sister in laws rice was so salty she ate two bites and couldn’t eat anymore. I tried it as well and it tasted as if they had dumped a whole bottle of salt on it. She brought this to the staffs attention and we heard the chef say “well they ate all the food why are they complaining” when the food that was in question wasn’t even the food they brought back yet as my sister in laws plate was still on the table. Every worker’s attitude was like they didn’t want us there. Will not be coming back.

My god what happened to this place, I ordered the ahi poke bowl to go and when I tried it the bowl was horribly salty like almost unpalatable. Feeling disappointed. Edit: I called the place and when I informed them about the excessive salt i could literally hear someone in the background say "its just salt!" really unprofessional.

Overpriced, skimpy and bad service. Definitely never going back. First they mixed up my order with someone else's. Then once i got home, which is right down the street, i opened the boxes to find extremely small portions and cold food. I payed extra for asparagus and they only gave me 3 spears, i got two super small pieces of fish, and barely any brown rice which i also payed extra for. Just a bad experience overall. The dynamite shrimp bowl was ok... and it all came out to 30 something dollars. Outrageous...

After today I will never come back to California Fish Grill. I will never do this self order especially when they won't help you and you have questions. I wanted to order the garlic butter sauce but I wanted to try the shamshiri just to see if I would like it. The employee couldn't help me with that. Looked at me like he had no clue on how to help me at all or cared.

Then the manager came and again told me that the fish and chips is cooked that way and after proving her point that, that's how it is served she offered to cook just one fish again for me and if I really wanted she could tell the cook to make it a light batter. I refused as I just wanted to give feedback. Cool atmosphere but forsure not worth the money for the food or the service.
