I was surprised, two mexican restaurants across from each other and I picked the right one, definitely one of the best Super Burrito I had in a long time. Meat was delicious.

Amazing staff and food, I will definitely come back when I'm in town and would highly recommend the Carne Asada super burrito!!

I eat here a couple times a month. The food is good and the owners are nice. The Mexican food is good but the Gyros are great.

The best Chile verde I ever had! Homemade and not out of the castle! The green and salsas were fresh and delicious. Very polite/cordial employees. I am amazed with this place! I will definitely come back!

This place has some seriously good food. I ordered the taco plate; one taco with chicken and one taco with carnitas. The carnitas was perfect. Nice and crispy; probably from tje flat top. Not a bunch of fat. Chicken was nice and heavily seasoned; an enjoyable taco experience. Rice and beans were good too.

Went for a late lunch and sat on the patio. The food was amazing. Fresh ingredients and delicious. Every salsa was great. 10/10 highly recommend

I stopped in here on a whim as I was walking around downtown Modesto and ordered the Chilequilles con huevos. I was not disappointed to say the least. The entire plate was extremely fresh and cooked to order while I waited. The flavors were bold and defined. They also have a salsa bar that has multiple different topping options.

The staff were kind and fast with our order, food came out looking and tasting delicious. Usually dont like sitting in places that dont have other people, but the vibe was comfortable so dining in was good! Only complaint is there was a speaker or machine playing a frequency pitch that was slightly annoying. Otherwise amazing! Keep it up :)

Fantastic tacos, good cake out piping hot! Had two Al pastor tacos and a quesabirria. Both were exquisite, and the gal helping me was very nice ✨

This family run restaurant is popular with the locals. By chance, I just happened upon it on my drive from Sacramento to LA. They were really friendly and helped me in selecting a dish. I ordered the two enchiladas plate. I chose one chicken and one beef. The dish came with chips, beans, and rice. I also had access to a salsa bar. All the food was very good and tasty. I'd definitely eat here again.

Downtown Modesto hidden gem. The food is excellent, great portions and price. Owner is great, knows everyone that walks in. Excellent place to eat.

BUT WHEN THE FOOD ARRIVED (really fast as well) there was NOTHING but silence. This food is NEXT LVL GOOD! Eyes rolling back in your head, mmmmmm mmmmmm, smacking lips, and licking the plate GOOOOOOD! Taqueria Cardenas is in my opinion the BEST IN TOWN!

Chile Relleno was awesome. Food here is really good. Has that home made quality 👌. Señora Gloria is awesome kind and attentive and helpful. I've never been there before. This was my mom's and I first time. We definitely will stop by when we're in modesto area again.

Really nice place to eat. They also serve gyros. My family had tacos and burritos before a movie. Great place to eat near the theatre. You can just walk down the street and enjoy after or before a movie.

Tasty authentic Mexican food served quickly, not to many people in the dinning room this probably should have been a negative sign as the portions were small for the price.

I work downtown and it gets hectic traffic wise around lunchtime. I was able to call in my order and was told it would be ready in 15 mins which was perfect from the time I clocked out and drove there to get it it was ready 😊 will be going back again soon! Thank you all for your service

1st time here today. It is it small little restaurant but their food has big flavor. The people behind the register are so friendly. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon because I was on my lunch pretty early and wanted some breakfast, not pricey compared to other restaurants. Is a great size Burrito, got full eating it about halfway. I gave this 4 stars because I haven't tried much else on the menu I just came quick for lunch but I feel the other items on the menu would be amazing!

There is a high number of Mexican restaurants in Modesto, most of them not good. Taqueria Cardenas is an exception. Hands down one of the best spots in the Central Valley. My only complaint is that they stopped giving free chips with your burrito.

I could of given them 4 stars but the thing they messed up are order but other than that it was alright. I'll come back again. Plus there super burrito was good and there green salsa was on point. So I recommend it.

Everything is nice for getting some Mexican food, my wife got a bowl and I got a burrito. The nicest way to put the food is like someone spilled the ingredients from a can onto a tortilla and a bowl. It looked good and the burrito was loaded but the flavor was ok. Try a different menu option if you come here

I'm not sure why the great reviews of this place. This is my first time here and usually when I go once and it just doesn't taste good I try it a second time. But I ordered an Asada burrito and the burrito itself was great but the meat was just flavorless and bland and also full of fat. Now I get it that with Mexican Asada you will get pieces of fat here and there, but this had it everywhere and just felt disgusting while I was eating it. I do have to give them kudos for the staff, they were very friendly and inviting.

I ordered the super nacho, Carne Asada. Absolutely no taste, super blan, hardly any cheese and no salsa, Not even a Pico de Gallo to go, rough sell. Too blan for this Latin foodie.

Accepting orders on door dash when they are closed. Showed up, store is closed, they didn’t know anything about a door dash order. Took my time and money, wasted an hour of my time I won’t get paid back for. They don’t deserve business when they’re taking door dash money while they’ve already closed the establishment. Very irresponsible business practices.

Called in my order then when I got there they said I took to long( never mind that it is downtown) and cancelled it then I ask them too make it for me waited 5 minutes out said just so he can come out to ask me if I wanted the food. So I waited even longer. Just or write rude and the food was not worth the wait

If you use credit or debit, they will charge you $.50. Complimentary chip basket has about ten chips. If you ask for more, it’s $1.00. Sodas, juice are all $2.50 each. Super tacos are $3.50, but are regular size. It’s the same size at other places for $1.50. Salsa bar is very limited; and if they charge for extra chips, it’s pointless. They do not give you a receipt, when you ask to check, there’s no break down, so you do not know. Their French fries are awesome though. Seems like the lady just wants to charge you as much as she can. Just annoying.

Went there at 9:12, freezing. Ordered at the counter. No chips, salsa, or water comes with service/breakfast. Huevos rancheros served on a difficult to cut corn tortilla. No one came by to ask how everything was. Ate half the breakfast and left. Would not frequent this place again
