Gherkins Sandwich

Yes! These baby gherkins they put in their sandwiches are so awesome ♡ I got a #6 sub Swiss cheese instead of American, on a French roll. I ordered the garlic fries ($10) which I thought was expensive, but they were good! Honestly the fries alone could totally fill 2 people, or 1 order could be considered a decent side fries for 4 people. I just wish they had a smaller side of the garlic fries because I ended up having to throw away 2/3rds of it, only because I Uber and, I can't save garlic in my car when I give uber rides lol 🙃. Even throwing 2/3rd if the fries out, I also only ate half the sandwich, & saved the rest of that for later. Still, super good, and I'll Def return if I'm back in the area I only marked one off for the atmosphere bc there was a creepy black widow perched on the ceiling in the corner... that is just me though I am terrified of spiders. Other than that everything was 100%

Been coming here for many years and glad it is consistent. They load up these deli sandwiches and everything is fresh. Waits are never too long. Montara beach is only a couple minutes from here so it is perfect for relaxing for lunchtime.

Wowza!!! Their Elvis #11 (peanut butter banana bacon sandwich) was a great filling sandwich! If you like Elvis style sandwiches, this is the spot just outside of Pacifica. My wife had a hot sandwich and that was great too!

Shared the West Coaster on a wheat roll with my mom! So good! Theres a lot in this sandwich, one of the best I’ve ever had. A great meal for two people to share. Sat outside, lovely view.

Our Fajitas Sandwich was awesome! Great marinated diced beef, lots of veggies, with super crispy bread… I can say they are doing serious sandwiches here instead of an overpriced tourist shop as we expected when we stepped in. Highly recommended.

When I think of a good sandwich, what Gherkin’s provides is pretty much exactly what I’m thinking of. Their baby sized sandwiches pack a golden ratio of protein/veggies/sauce. They arrive both crunchy and saucy. I eat a lot and one sandwich (the niners) had me full. I will be finishing the second half of my girlfriend’s later (#17 on the menu). Oreo milkshake was really good too. Delicious lunch after a day of surfing/hiking. The cashier was the nicest and was helpful with recs.

Wish I would have come here sooner!! I always drive by this place but never stopped here. Today I decided to and it was worth it. I ordered a turkey on Dutch with American cheese, with everything except mustard. The sandwich was fat, as you can see by the photo but not overly big. The turkey had a great distinct flavor and they add a flavorful spread to the sandwiches. They also add a nice assortment of veggies, including little pickles, which have a nice crunch. The Dutch crunch bread was not overly bready (if that is even a word) and was perfect when toasted. The cheese even had a great flavor and was melted perfectly. Overall, it is a great spot and I will be back to try some of their many options as the menu is extensive. The other nice part is that it is not too expensive. I got a sandwich, chips and a jarritos and it came to $16 and change. Great job Gherkins and looking forward to more sandwiches!!

Greatest sandwich place I’ve ever been. I was fuming about the price until the most beautiful man on the planet delivered the largest sandwich I’ve ever seen. The flavor combo was crazy. The West coaster sandwich is perfect. Place has good gluten free options too, get the love salad, it was also huge. Be careful of the entrance tho, hill will scrape lower cars.

Great sandwiches! Gluten free bread is really good and comparable in size to other breads. I had the Cal Fire and my husbnad had the Carnivore, which was basically a meatball sub with marinara. Both excellent. Not a first date spot - these sandwiches are big and get messy!

The place feels warm and welcoming. almost like you’re getting a home-cooked sandwich rather than something commercial. I loved that they offer different bread options like sourdough, Dutch crunch, and several others, so you can really customize your sandwich. The ingredients tasted fresh, and everything felt thoughtfully made. Even the pastry was warm and comforting.Overall, a simple, cozy spot with fresh food and a relaxed vibe. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in Half Moon Bay.

Excellent sando spot with generous portions in Montara. I've been coming here for years now as I am addicted to the culinary masterpiece which is the Nor-Cal, #27. That one in particular wont be for everyone but it is one of my favorite sandwiches on the planet. The Cal Fire is also amazing. Totally recommend this place and always plan to keep coming back. One of my favorite things to do is go run my dog on the beach then grab one of these sandwiches and thats always a great day.

Went for their breakfast sandwich and got the Backseat Driver. If you’re going with another person, I would just get 1 sandwich since they’re filled to the brim with toppings. I almost couldn’t finish it by myself and I was starving. The sandwich was really good! Warm, tasty, and very filling. Will come here again whenever I’m in the area.

I got the Farmhouse sandwich with everything (mayo, mustard, pesto, red onions, tomatoes, gherkins, pepperoncini, romaine lettuce), and added jalapeños. Since they sell burgers, I asked if I could get a plain meat patty on the side, and they gave me the biggest, juiciest patty. My dog was delighted with her dinner topping 😁 The service was great, food was delicious, and I hope to return next time I take another spontaneous beach trip with my dog. They also have photography and art work for sale on the walls. It was nice to take a look at it all while I waited for my order. I'm hoping to return for the picture that captured my heart.

The Ingredients are fresh, from the Vegis to meat. Good God! I just wish I could take this home with me back to Atlanta. What a great sandwich. Service was great with a smile and a great atmosphere of coziness. You can even see the ocean from the seating inside. There’s also outside seating as well. As well as a pet friendly area. If you’re on your way up or down the coast this is definitely a stop!

The name catches our eyes when we drive by so we decided to stop for a meal. Welcoming little shop for sandwiches and burgers. My brother ordered a carnivore, a meatball sandwich and I ordered an avocado and jalapeno cheese burger, aka California burger woth with a side of garlic fries. There are tables indoors and out as well as restrooms. The food was brought in to go containers for good reason, we had leftovers. The burger was great, moist and thick, the extra produce gave you a different bite. The garlic fries were tasty and a generous portion. The meatball sandwich was a nice surprise, good sauce (not salty) and good meatball, not filler. Service was nice and efficient. The burger came with fries and basically filled half the box. A nice stop when driving along the coast.

We found this place superbowl weekend as we had a Airbnb near by. Ended up stopping there twice on the way to the city. I had a BLT w. Extra bacon and it was loaded. Omgosh, two people could of ate that sandwich. We also ordered the crazy Philly. Both were delicious enough that we ate the same thing the next time. The place is super cool. Great place for a sandwich!!!

Take some time to look at the menu BEFORE you get to the front or you will majorly play yourself. We accidentally got everything on our sandwich and it was crazy, so many flavors. If you exercise more control it could be a 5/5. Also got the fried gherkins which were also a gut bomb. Vibe here is super gherkin-y.

They have great sandwiches, you can build your own by picking the type of bread and ingredients you want to put on. They have tables indoors and outdoors, I definitely recommend to sit outside on a sunny day! The service is great, they're really friendly.

The guy working the front was very kind and gave us a pickle for our birthday. The sandwiches were good and we were glad for the gluten free options. However the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. The place is filthy and rundown. The garbage cans, tables, floor, literally need a deep clean from.like 10 years worth of grime. The owners should be ashamed to be honest it made me sick to see. Also, $65 for 2 sandwiches and a bag of chips? Insane pricing.
