Opinions de Fieldwork Brewing Company Monterey
A great spot for Belgian-style craft beer—you really can’t go wrong with the dubbel, tripel, or quadrupel! It’s conveniently located in the heart of everything, offering only outdoor seating. While no food is served, you’re welcome to bring your own. It can get quite crowded on busy nights, so plan ahead. The location backs onto a large parking lot, though be mindful of the 1-hour parking limit.
I am a huge fan of the Monterey Fieldwork! The staff is always super friendly. The beer choices are plentiful and it would be hard to find a beer that you did not enjoy. The sitting area is relaxed with a chill vibe. Kids and dogs are always welcome. There are several food and coffee choices adjacent to venue.
Fantastic brewery. Loved the concept, and the beer was excellent. They had a NEIPA with New Zealand hops (Nelson Sauvon). Just as good, if not better than breweries in New England. Cannot wait to go back!!!!
Best beer by quality on the Monterey peninsula. It’s a beer garden, so it’s outside. Take the weather into consideration. Also, there’s no food. What they do have though is top-notch beer, and a wide selection at that. Better than Alvarado Street, IMHO.
We held the Welcome Party for my son’s wedding weekend at Fieldwork. From start to finish, Stephanie and Eva were great to work with. The beer was amazing as was the atmosphere.
Awesome beer selection! Clean bathrooms. No food but plenty of food near by. Clean bathrooms. Dog friendly!
A cold, rainy afternoon in Monterey couldn’t keep me away from visiting this beer garden. Despite this location being outdoors, despite the elements, and despite me being the only beer-a-holic brave enough to withstand the storm, I did not have a bad time. After ordering a Doomsday Protocol Triple IPA (10% ABV!!), I sat under the covered portion of the patio and listened to the rain. They were thoughtful enough to have the patio heaters running, which just made my experience that more cozy. The staff was awesome as always. Friendly, quick, and sincere with her conversation. Restrooms were clean. They had a limited amount of merchandise available, but quite a few canned selections ready to take home. I chose Fast Food French Toast Imperial Stout (13% ABV!!). I also enjoyed the triple IPA so much, I grabbed a growler for later. This location is absolutely kid friendly. As for pets, they have a water dish available and dog treats! Did I mention that they have QR codes at the tables for easy ordering? Fantastic little spot that gets lively in the evenings and on the weekends. And their beers are delicious. If you’ve never tried one of their parfait beers, you don’t know what you’re missing. Flights available as well.
This is one of my two favorite taphouses in the entire world. We first visited (every night) in 2021 during the Indy race at Laguna Seca. Once again, this was an every night stop this past week where we made sure we tried everything on tap at least once. This time (I cant recall it from last time), they had suggested flights available. We tried both the Fieldworks Flight (6 or 7 times) and the Hoppy Flight (2-3 times). My friend liked the Vox Pop best while I was partial to the Salted Watermelon Gose and the Velvet Stout. An option this time was to get some cans made up, which we then took away for beer at the track. Love the outdoor patio, where you can bring your own food and it's dog friendly which is always a plus. I recognized the servers and several of the patrons so it has some serious return business. It isn't possible to go to Monterey and not stop here, repeatedly. They need to fix the fireplace heater :). but otherwise everything was perfect.
The beer was all great. Good spot to hang out with friends and enjoy some sun or some shade.
Love the shipping container architecture and open air biergarden with twinkly lights overhead. Service was friendly and sample pours were cheap. Free Wifi and outside food welcome complete the inviting atmosphere. Close by the MST Transit Center. Cans, Crowlers & Growler Fills available to take home.
Fantastic Brewery in an amazing location. No flashy decor, just a simple layout that lets the brilliant beers do the talking! Staff were friendly and eager to recommend a specific style. It is worth visiting to Monterey just for this place!
What a great brewery. Fun outdoor atmosphere. Laid back place that is dog friendly. The beer is great. Lots of taps and options. This is a go-to spot for sure!
Such a cool place for beer, plenty of outside sitting. We stopped on our west coast road trip and atmosphere is of a home local spot
Had a great time here. Ordered a flight of 5 tasters. Guys loved talking about their beers and what to sample next. Super friendly. Bonus: dog friendly!
Very laid back atmosphere. the service was great, informative, and entertaining. best place to just pop in and have a beer. we walked all over Monterrey, end each time we passed to or from the hotel we had a beer. sit and get into a conversation with someone and make a friend!
Really cool spot and super kind folks. Great beers a lot of it. The flights are huge!
Great place to hang out. Great service and an awesome selection of beer. All they do is beer but they do it really well and welcome you bringing food from somewhere else.
Great beer. Staff is very friendly. They interact well and are attentive to everyone waiting too order beer. It is all outdoor but there are plenty of heaters and a big outdoor firepit. Great atmosphere. Kids are welcome as well as dogs on a leash.
Parking is free. Staff are friendly. Lots of beers on tap. Patio seating only. Dog friendly! Beers are promising.

Great selection of some interesting beer!! The fire pit is also great for colder evenings.

Staff were very friendly and the spot had a good variety of beers that were all very solid. Light and refreshing compared to some of the heavier offering at Alvarado Street. This is really more of a popup bar/beer garden out of a shipping container than a typical brewery experience. It was a bit hard to find at first cause it’s pretty much in a Trader Joe’s parking lot, but it was nice to sample some fieldwork while in town
Great outdoor beer garden! Nice variety of beers. They can def have a few more on rotation. Once you try the few that you like it gets a tad old after a few visits. Pets allowed Food/food truck would be an amazing addition. Beer + Food = longer stays!
Nice place. Good selection of beer. I will visit again.
Me and a buddy enjoyed a lazy afternoon sipping some beers here recently. We really dug the outdoor beer garden set up - the only “structure” being the bar where you order beer. Seems to be a go to spot for locals, since many were quick to order their favorites. But our server was very patient and helpful in getting us started. She let us know too that since they don’t serve food, we were welcome to bring some food in from nearby places and even had some good suggestions. So we made a quick trip to grab some deli sandwiches, and were able to enjoy some food with our beers. Enjoyed the many IPAs they have, and found that they craft their product well. We were able to chill in the mild Monterey weather and sample some good beers. If you’re looking for a casual atmosphere, good beer, and a space that doesn’t get too loud from all the surrounding walls, then this is your spot.

Just ok. Giant portions for the flights of beer which is cool, but the beer isn’t that good. I was kind of disappointed because I tried 5… and only really liked one of them. My husband got 6, and only liked 1 as well. Just not super impressed. Their seating options are also terrible- the chairs hurt to sit on. Dog friendly which is always nice

Solid product. Very mediocre service. The chick working would rather be anywhere else than serving beer. I dig the vibe of this place itself but tbh I’m not sure I’d go back because homegirl just made me & my wife feel so awkward. Dust Bowl Brewing is just a few blocks away with great beer, vibe & service.
I love sour beers, I have two on tap at home as we speak. That being said, I tried 3 different sour beers that were offered at fieldwork brewing in monterey. The first was Marion dairy, it had the aroma of someone that had just got a perm and tasted like cream soda, I just couldn't get past the smell, second was instant vacation, it reminded me of a sangria with a coconut taste, third was sunshine method, the first flavors you get reminded me of the juice from a snow cone, but the after taste was kind of minty, not really appealing. Needless to say I was disappointed that we couldn't get 1 out of three to be appealing. It was like they were trying to hard to combine flavors to get a hit, but it was a miss. Staff was friendly.
The owner is low key insane. I ordered a drink and my husband was with me. I showed my ID but my husband took a sip too. What would be a normal reaction? If you said “come up and ask him for his ID as well” you are right, but that is not what the dark haired short lady at the counter did. She started YELLING in front of everyone that we were disrespecting her bar. It’s the first time I’ve been kicked out of somewhere and I’m still in shock. My husband looks like and adult and she could’ve just asked for an ID? The lady need to get some therapy, it’s not ok. The drinks are very mediocre too so I’m not sad about never going there again
Arrived there on a nearly empty Wednesday afternoon, sat down and not a minute later a lady approached me and told me to order something if I was going to hang out. The number of times I've had an experience like that in every major city I've ever lived? Zero.
The beer was good but the lady outside in the hut has no knowledge of customer service. Better employee can be in this position. The place is really nice and clean. Great outside seating! This place is good the one star is because of the customer's service.
