The Garden Gallery in Morro Bay is such a wonderful spot for plant lovers! They have an amazing selection of houseplants, succulents, and pottery, all carefully curated to offer something for every style and space. I picked up a few small plants and a beautiful pot to make a little arrangement, and I couldn’t be happier with my choices. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, making it a relaxing place to browse and find something unique. It’s definitely one of my favorite spots to visit, and I always look forward to coming back to see what new plants and pottery they have in stock. Highly recommend it if you’re looking to add some greenery to your home!
Love love love it here! Best place to get the best succulents ♥️
When I visit Morro Bay here, it's the first place I want to relax here. Of course, it wasn't made overnight, but it got better as time went by, but I think this place is closer to the gallery as the name of this place is rather than a store. Great exhibits and items stand out. I can get many ideas to refer to the interior decoration of the house, and if look around here I think I have more room in my heart. I like this place so strongly recommend !!!
This garden store is so unique. More like a relaxing visit to a garden than a store. Benches and fountains help create a serene atmosphere. They have so many plant species. They have great staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable. They let us keep our plants there until we were ready to leave the area. I'll be back every time I visit.
Staff are really helpful. It's hard to not want to but everything in this store... it's all so pretty! Love the unique selection of pots, cookbooks and the adorable kids section.
Beautiful store with lots of nice decor for home and garden 🪴
Loved this place. Nicely decorated gallery. The staff are very nice and accommodating. The plants are well cared for, and the selection are very good. Come and get ideas for your garden. You can purchase any plants you like.
We love stopping in when we're in Morro Bay. They have a huge selection of succulent plants, pots. Gifts and more. You could spend hours here admiring all of the stuff. We've started succulent collection so we're always finding new plants to add.
Our favorite place to go at Morrow Bay . I always get new selections for myself and gifts for friends...love looking at all the new pots and creations..it would be nice if they helped you with your purchases and their trucks take up the parking..but its relaxing and refreshing..will never tire of going there..
I love this garden shop. One of my favorite place get some succulent and cacti. What an excitement just to look at the beautiful cacti and succulents. Totally recommend this garden shop
One of 3 places to visit while visiting the Embarcadero in Morro Bay. (The other 2 are the Shell Shop, & Wavelengths Surf Shop). The Garden Gallery is divided into two separate buildings. One housing rare and unique succulents, and Asian statuary and plants, pottery, and fountains. The other a gallery of gifts, art, and unusual items in a maze of rooms each scented with candle and floral aromas.
Such a beautiful calming place with so many plant, Gift, and decor options. Love it!!
I love coming here! The selection of plants, especially succulents is wide. I love looking at all of their new plants and displays.
Must visit in for morro bay trip We walked around and found interesting plants
The most charming garden store there ever was. Beautifully curated goods and plants, of course. A central coast gem!
This place is so gorgeous. Every single corner of it is manicured. The plants are high quality, but the experience of walking through is worth it by itself. Lots of clever statues. I wish I lived closer to this place.
This is our favorite nursery away from home. We've been coming here for years, consistently great selection of both common and more unusual succulents. They also have a great selections of planter pots, empty and pre-planted. We met and had a great conversation with the owner on this last visit. Highly, highly recommended!
The Gallery has been a fav experience for all of my family for as long as it’s been open and we’ve been visiting MB. A must stop to experience the beautiful decor options, get ideas, make purchases and also relax. Recently I made a purchase of a large mirror. When I got it home, it was too big for the intended space. Even though I was beyond their exchange-return policy, I called and they said they’d be happy to exchange for store credit. When I arrived 3 months later they fulfilled their promise with great customer service attitude. Thank you! The Gallery team demonstrated what customer service is about.
Excellent service and my breakfast absolutely 💯 delicious. I had Crab Benedict and a bloody mary. Sat outside, great view of the rock. Very peaceful ✌️
The seafood pasta was so good. I wasn't expecting it to be like a soup, but I have zero complaints. Copious amounts of clams, shrimp, and fish. The noodles were perfectly cooked. It was fantastic. Service was very good as well. Welcoming and warm atmosphere. Waitress was very attentive and nice. Dined in the evening of the 12th of Sep.
It was wonderful. Being able to have our dog eat with us on the patio was awesome. I had a clam chowder bread bowl, my wife had the breakfast plate and Walter (our dog) had a puppy patty, The food was out quick and tasted great!! The amazing views of the marina and the sound of the seals nearby were a plus! I will be returning on our trips here.
I recently stopped at this restaurant to enjoy a meal by the water, and it was a delightful experience. We were seated promptly, and I loved that they offered both indoor and outdoor seating with stunning views of Morro Rock. Our server was not only friendly but also very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was served promptly, and it not only looked visually appealing but also tasted fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience, and I am already looking forward to returning in the future.
Had a late Sunday evening dinner, not busy inside which is smaller than the larger outdoor seating, so that was enjoyable. The lobster bisque which I didn’t get a picture of was really good! I had the seafood pasta and it was phenomenal. So many different flavors that blended well together and no overpowering fishy smell
Nestled in the heart of the Embarcadero, Blue Sky Bistro is a brunch oasis offering a delightful blend of scenic views, delectable cuisine, and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. The restaurant's prime location provides stunning vistas of Morro Bay from both the dine-in patio and the cozy interior. What sets Blue Sky Bistro apart is its thoughtful design – plexiglass panels adorn the alfresco dining area, offering protection from the wind without compromising the panoramic views. Opting for a traditional two-egg breakfast with sourdough toast, I was pleasantly surprised by the impeccable execution of the country potatoes – golden, buttery, and perfectly seasoned, with just the right balance of flavors. Meanwhile, my partner savored the Sailors Bay Benedict, featuring succulent crab that stole the show. Blue Sky Bistro stands out as one of the few spots on the Embarcadero that opens early and offers a full breakfast menu, making it a coveted destination for early risers and brunch enthusiasts alike. The staff exuded warmth and professionalism, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. To top it off, the coffee was exceptional, providing the perfect accompaniment to our morning feast. And for our furry friends, the dog-friendly patio was a welcome touch, allowing us to enjoy our meal in the company of our beloved pets. Blue Sky Bistro offers a brunch experience that ticks all the boxes – breathtaking views, delicious food, friendly service, and pet-friendly ambiance. Whether you're seeking a leisurely brunch or a quick bite before exploring the Embarcadero, this charming bistro is sure to delight.
Absolutely love this place their food, service, and overall polite staff. I have taken my kids here a couple times. They sit right on the water and their food is delicious. I recommend trying their hot pastrami sandwich and the eggs Benedict. Best part is they serve the eggs Benedict all day. We will definitely be coming back here for years to come. Good food, polite staff, and good atmosphere right next to the water. Would definitely recommend trying this place out! Thank you!
The food was awesome. I had nachos and my wife had the lobster bisque with prawns. We were extremely happy with the quality of food. The servers were did an amazing job. Even without the view the food stands on its own. The amazing view makes it even more impressive. I only wish they had liquor.
Update: the selection has thinned out some. The employees are still nice, but it seemed like there were fewer of them. Still worth visiting, but not as good as it used to be. I always spend a lot of time here. Must visit every time in town. Visited again this Fall and the staff went above and beyond to help my wife find what she was looking for. Excellent service, and always great items to peruse. Well worth the visit, always.
I wanted to enjoy more of the crazy view of Morro bay and a sunny afternoon, so I drank IPA beer with tacos here. It tasted good and just the beer condition wasn't that good. The soup was good, too. On a windy day, it is recommended to go inside and eat at an outdoor table with a windbreaker. Pet friendly restaurant !!
Chilly morning but we chose to eat outside for the view! Service was slow. The staff seemed more interested in chatting among themselves. There was a couple eating inside, and we were the only other people outside at 8:30am. Food was a yummy generous, portion! I will come back again for the food.
We had dinner with another couple and while our choices were done very well, they were not happy with theirs. I had chips with guacamole and salsa for the table. The salsa was some of the best I have had recently and the guacamole was spicy and very good. I also had the Baja tacos, which could have used a little more fish but the fish was cooked very well. My husband had chicken tortilla soup which was excellent. Our friend had the lobster bisque with shrimp and said she would only give it a 6/10. Her husband had a burger and the country potatoes which he seemed to enjoy. They were unable to split the ticket which I have heard from others as well. My friend had ordered a glass of the house red and it was not good. They did replace it after they opened a new bottle and she said it was much better. The whole experience was okay but it seemed a little pricey. It may be something we try again though for breakfast or lunch.
We were vacationing in Morro Bay like we do every year. I decided to walk through the store with my husband and 2 year old child. We were there shortly after they opened. There is a child area where they sell books and other children’s toys. My son touched a riding car that was sitting on the ground with stuffed animals in it. I heard a lady say to my son “ oh no that is not for kids to ride in”. I never saw her face which made me think she was watching from behind somewhere. I looked at my child and realized he was simply touching the car only. I thought that was so odd and felt like we were being watched. The mysterious voice never even asked if we needed help finding anything. As we walked through the rest of the place I saw employees but was only given glares and no one asked if we needed anything or greeted us. I had picked out a string of hearts plant but decided that I didn’t want to spend money on a place with such poor customer service. I understand this review doesn’t affect the quality of plants but good customer service is essential and we felt very unwelcome.
I came here for lunch with a group of 8 and have mixed reviews. I had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken and was not impressed. The bland dressing came on the side which I did not ask for. I would have preferred it mixed, and at other places have always been asked for my preference. As a whole, the salad was very mediocre, even the chicken. A few others had the lobster bisque in a bread bowl and thought it was great. One person had a burrito (I don't remember what kind), she said it was very good. Service was fine with a couple of caveats; 1. Some of us ordered sparkling wine and it was served to us flat. We asked for some wine that was not flat and the server just said "ok". No apology for the flat wine, no offer to remove the charge for the flat wine from the bill. 2. Some of us wanted dessert but he just put the check on the table when he assumed we were done and never asked if we wanted anything else. In general, he seemed a bit bothered to be there. Atmosphere is nice as it is right on the waterfront. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was raining while we were there so we sat inside. It was very comfortable and due to large front windows you still get the waterfront vibe. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again but I would give them another try when in the area again.
Came back and got eggs Benedict this time. It was ok but not especially great. The service was ok. I ended up trying a couple of things here. The "grilled cheese" which isn't very much like what you expect a grilled cheese sandwich to be but is quite tasty in it's own right. And I also had the chicken sandwich which was fantastic as well. Pairing that with some local beers and a view of the water on the patio makes for a lovely experience. We also had a good server who was quite clever when we asked if we could get a photo he said we were welcome to recruit one of the millennials that work there as they would do a better job of it.
The view is great and the staff is friendly. The windows are very dirty and it ruins the experience. The prices are very high, even higher than Pier 39. The chairs are metal and have no cushion. It is not comfortable for what you pay. If the windows are clean, you can enjoy the view.
I was really disappointed with my meal here. We ordered a burrito that was so salty it was difficult to finish. Worse, the mac and cheese tasted like the cheese had actually gone bad/spoiled—it had a very off-putting, rotten taste. The service was okay, but definitely not attentive or friendly enough to make up for the food quality. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be coming back.
Stood around waiting to be seated for lunch. Looked to be understaffed. That's fine. But we decided to leave when the female waiter snapped at us while we were waiting for our existence to be acknowledged lol. No thank you. She might be overworked or stressed or going through a rough patch. I get it. I hope she feels better. But we definitely weren't going to pay to be around abrasive energy.
