Sit down chinese Mexican mixed buffet style food was very good nice selection of food to choose from only down side the waitress did not speak English or understand it and would walk away ignoring you but she did get the other man who did who would help but he was not avaliable you had to do or guess for yourself,but she bussed the tables and got drinks very efficiently

I ordered off of the menu,Moo shu shrimp,this was a little piece of heaven. I've been in Texas a few years and have not seen it on a menu in East Texas. This was so delicious. It had the right plum sauce,the right wrappers and everything. The food on the buffet looked good,it was hot and the clients really enjoyed it. We will be back again.

To me this place is amazing, I always get greeted by the same people that take us to our table, extremely friendly and extremely understanding. Food was amazing, You can eat as much as you want! Never have gotten sick from this place and has always been clean. I would always go to this place to eat for special occasions, overall 5/5 Stars.

We were greeted and got our table and drink order and went to the buffet and it was nothing like where we have ate in the past where the food looks old and disgusting, this food looked amazing and tasted amazing it's too bad we dont live close enough to go again often. We are totally writing our usual chinese place off and this place is what we will base other places on. The staff were very friendly and I had to make sure I gave them a good review.

The food was very good. It's never empty and they bring fresh food out very regularly. The service, depending on the server, is mediocre at best. But overall I'd definitely go back.

So just another run of the mill restaurant, service was good, food was typical priced, flavor was fair. I have other favorites that I would rather visit but not a bad experience at all. It was also super convenient during lunch rush in and out in about 15-20 minutes. Would go back.

As far as Chinese buffets go... I'm not too impressed except for the fact that the staff was seriously on point. Friendly and courteous but not in your face. Good service has become almost non existent in this new post covid world we live in. But this is one restaurant that has kept high standards. Visit them for a reasonably tasty meal and exemplary service.

Nice place to eat. Clean and spacious dining area. The dishes are not labeled on the Buffett is the only thing that I would change. The food was fresh and they promptly replaced the dishes of food when they were emptied! We had to wait for a cashier to take our money when we were leaving for a few minutes was my only true complaint. The other was just a suggestion (labeling the food on buffett).

Believe it or not the bar b que ribs was the highlight today. It's a buffet and the food is always fresh. I go quite often bout twice in a month and I always go away full and satisfied. They don't speak much English but are friendly enough. Try it you'll like it!!!

It was okay. They did not have enough social distancing guidelines in place for me. Seating was too close together and there were no plastic gloves provided as I have seen in other buffet restaurants.

This is your go to place for a china buffet. The name may throw you off but they have a very decent variety of dishes. It's small, however the food is good, most of the dishes are kinda salty, but that can be a hit or miss. The thought the fried rice was on par. The building is a little older and I notice some water damage, but hey, I think they are doing the best they can. I would go back.

I have such a fun time when I visit Jefferson Buffet. They have some really delicious dishes they serve. My favorite being the spicy chicken dish with mushrooms,jalapeños and red spicy peppers. They usually have a good atmosphere but can get busy. The waitresses are usually there when needed to fill drinks and remove finished plates. Also I must add that they have very reasonable prices. Lunch price is usually cheaper due to the fact that the only serve fish and shrimp at dinner time after 4 pm I believe.

We were in Mt Pleasant to do some shopping and after reading the most current reviews decided to give it a try. Was here @ 3:30 on a Saturday and the food was hot and fresh. Very flavorful and really enjoyed it. My only issue was that the food wasn’t labeled. Will definitely be back!!

This review is based on my one time of eating there. My husband had to work out of town so we stopped and ate here. Everything tasted good and the people were friendly as well. I wouldn't say it's the best restaurant we've ever been to, but it's no where near the worst. It's pretty decent over all and I wish it were closer to us.

Everything was good and tasty except for the sushi. With the large chunk of cream cheese, it was very unappetizing. My favorite roll is the California and I didn’t mind trying what they had here. I’m talking about the sushi with the buffet. We’re going to score this is 6.5 out of 10. It’s above average, but there is nothing super special about it.

Very good Chinese food buffet. The sweet and sour (red sauce) was more sour than sweet. Which is something I'm not used to so I added some sugar to mine. The wontons lacked substance and seemed to be made in a hurry. They did have sushi rolls which were good. Recommend anyone to try this place at least once and give it a chance. Update: Just had my second experience at this location and it even better than the first time.

Usually hit and miss here. But today I was completely disappointed. Frozen green beans in a dish where the green beans are primarily the only ingredient besides soy and garlic. Usually it's just a fubbed order but I'll still order from here because its the only place within a reasonable distance.

Good on buffet steam table was really good & fresh but... Ordered to go Human Chicken for my very pregnant daughter-in-law and when we got the food home (30 min away), found instead an order of chicken & broccoli instead. First time, shame on me; hope there won't be a second time. Will double check the order BEFORE leaving Mt. Pleasant, TX.

This was our usual go to Chinese buffet to go to. I had even offered it to Dynasty when ight was open and, yes, I know the same people owned it. When I finally get my mother to eat there with me it was not up to par, not even half. Chinese food shouldn't taste like Mexican food. That's why I stopped going to Dynasty. If I wanted that I'd go to two senorita.

My kids love it all the time, but really sometimes you can go and the food is pretty good and then sometimes you don't even want to finish the food that's on your plate, those are the times you basically just eat it cause you have to pay for it regardless. I guess it just depends on the cook they have that day.

Decent little buffet. I’ve been here 3x and it’s either hit or miss for the food. service is decent. They’ve got a decent selection of food. The fact that they charge 2 year olds for a buffet is strange considering most places offer it for free since they barely eat anything. Overall if you’re starving it’s a good choice for lunch or dinner. But for the price there’s better options.

A little too overpriced for the selection I believe . Good food but had to ask for sushi rolls multiple times before any one went to the refrigerator and took them out . That even took an act of Congress. I was not impressed this last visit at all but my previous experience said that was a rare occasion . The bathrooms are clean. All in all it's decent .

Food is decent if you go like once a year. The establishment definitely needs an update. Been the same for the past 23 years that I know of...maybe more. Definitely has stood the test of time but change is always good.

Most of the "hot" food was cold. Far bellow food safety holding temps. However, hot food did come out around 5. I am guessing that Mt. Pleasant does not have a health department or code enforcement. The gentleman at the front door is very attentive. He checks on tables regularly. Drinks stayed full, tables cleared.

Ordered egg drop soup and fried wontons to go. Wonton were good but the soup was like jello. And it was orange. Never seen orange egg drop soup. Definitely not a fan.

I wasnt to happy. I am disabled and asked for hot mustard and sweet and sour sauce. My waitress pointed to 2 different places of where it was kept. I couldn't find it so i asked again. She pointed again. At this point i thought she would walk me to it, or just get it for me but no she didn't. Then i had to ask for tea after she passed my table twice. And i noticed the don't sell ice cream anymoreand that was just a disappoint in itself. So maybe I'll go to Lee's next time for that one on one service.

It's always stuffy hot, the food may or may not be fresh, and it's never clean. I only go if my husband begs me to. I would have given 1 star, but they've improved a LITTLE bit to 2 stars.

When we tried to pay they over charged us.. then claimed they had included a senior discount... I told her it was incorrect but she insisted saying our drinks covered up the discount.. but even then we ended up paying full price for drinks and buffet... As often as we eat there we know the amount we should be charged!!! The cashier that argued was rediculous.... I can add even if she can't!!! We will not ever return due to the awful attitude of the older woman at the cash register.....food is ok but not worth the attitude... Panda Express here we come!!!

the trays were half or empty and cold. There seems to be no one running the restaurant. The area where the food is above the lights in the food and inside the lights in the food are clearly uncleaned, they are full of food grease produced by the same steam from the food. The bad thing is that it was not one day or two without cleaning it was of months, as the accumulation of dirty grease was very thick and black. there are more things that need to be painted or replaced. Probably it was due to covid, since I was a frequent customer before the pandemic and today, April 2023, a lot has fallen. It used to be always clean, the food was hot and the trays were full, and clean, if you are from Mount Pleasant, you could have realized that before It was full of people at lunch time and on the weekends, but today there are only a few who continue to go to this restaurant. and the price was high for the amount of food we were able to consume without a variety of food. Just clean a little more, finish the remodeling that is unfinished and keep the food trays hot and have a good variety of food and your customers will come back, of course make announcement on some social media that you have already improved tour menu, because many customers will not come back until they know your restaurant has improved. the staff was very friendly.

Found a metal shaving in the egg baked dish. Made me and my wife throw up not 30 minutes after we ate. Eat here at your own risk. I presented the metal shaving to the staff and they said sorry and gave us 10% off. Not mad at all about that but the fact that I paid for food that made us sick is very sad. 5 stars for staff 1 star for quality.

Typically food is old unless you go during super rush hour. Then good luck getting some food. But tastes good. Sesame chicken isn't any good here and that's always my favorite Chinese food to get. Update; some things have changed here, not much though. Food is still the same. Needs an improvement. I Wish they'd change things up a bit though.

I used to eat here several times a week a decade ago. I had a business across the street. While it was never phenomenal,it was good. The last couple of times I've been here the food is, meh. The restaurant is very dirty and in disrepair. Humidity dripping heavily out of the very rusty vents. Water leaks with poorly patched ceilings. Water all over the very greasy floors, from the buffet. In some places it's difficult for me to keep my feet together from sliding in the greasy dirty floors. Coming in you pass a couple of windows covered inside with styrofoam.between this and the glass are tons of a variety of dead bugs. They seem to have zero pride left in their business. And that makes me very uncomfortable. We won't be back.

The waitress and desk staff were great but the food was lacking. The hot and sour soup stuck to my spoon because of too much cornstarch and the steamed rice was obviously not changed because it was dry and tasted like plastic. The only good foods were the seceme chicken and the pot stickers. I even tried the chicken wings for good measure and they were beyond old and dry. Chinese buffet in Mt.pleasant... no thank you I'll stick to Panda Express and Thai food thank you.

I haven't been here in some years so we decided to try it today. I wished we wouldn't have. The food wasn't fresh and didn't have much flavor. I wished it would have been cleaner. They kept the dirty dishes cart at the end of the isle so everytime we went to get more food, we had to walk by it. Eww..... Buffet and drinks for 2 was $30. Just save your money.

The food at Jefferson’s Buffet was very poor quality. The selection of food was very limited. 4 out of the 6 family members that ate the food left the restaurant still hungry. More food was spit out into napkins than was actually swallowed. On the bright side, the server was attentive and our drinks were always full. Never eating at this place again.

Having to wait for an order to go then any condiments, I had to ask for. They don't put napkins, silverware or sauces if u don't ask. I was standing there waiting for the lady to ring me up while she has a conversation not in English with someone who works there like they couldn't wait. So rude.don't know how clean the kitchen is. But this place is cleaner than the other two in Mt. Pleasant, TX.

New to the area so decided to try a buffet. Walked in and was sat down, waitress took my drink order and never came back. I had to wave someone down to see about my drink as I was well over half way done with my plate. Literally the worse beef and broccoli I've ever had!! Chicken wast any better. Everything else was subpar. Best thing I ate was the egg rolls which come frozen and just fried in-house. Needless to say I will NOT be returning here.

This is easily the worst Chinese Buffet at which I've eaten. Well, I ate 5 pieces of broccoli and a fork full of rice and walked out. The food was *disgusting*. The selection was not good unless you count omelette and tamales as a good selection of Chinese food. The eating area was hot AF - low 80's hot. I paid my $7.75 because I'm not a thief, though I did so begrudgingly.

First time and last time Food looked very old and there was nets all over the Fruit.

Today, when I was paying my ticket after eating with my son. I noticed that the cashier took 6 dollars out of the drawer. When I got to the car I checked my phone and she charged me for a 6 dollar tip that I didnt authorize. I will never go back after the way I was treated when I went back in and confronted the cashier. She repeatedly showed me receipts that had the wrong card number on it. Check you payments when dealing with these people.

Horrible. The sweet and sour sauce was like a gelatinous red blob. The egg rolls were greasy and soggy It appeared as though we were eating there days end scraps. We had a all child with us and the wait staff didn't even get us a high chair, we had to get it ourselves. Dont waist your time eating here. I dont like Hershels, but I would go next door and eat at Hershels before I would eat here again. Food is NASTY!!!!! This is the worse place, if you don't want to be disappointed and waste your money DON'T go here the only thing that was ok was the rice and the mushrooms. The egg rolls were chalky other dishes taste like mystery meat which we didn't con't to eat. And not long after we left both my daughter and myself we got BUBBLE GUT (DIARRHEA) before we could get home and we don't live far from the buffet. Save yourself disappointment DON'T GO HERE.

The noodles were sticking to the tongs really bad. The shrimp and salmon needed some flavor and the salmon was really dry. There cold shrimp needs flavor it was really blah.they need to put some mild Creole seasoning on all the shrimp. The walnut shrimp was good just needed walnuts.the watermelon was almost green and hard to slice with a fork. Service was good. Price should have been cheaper for the lack of flavor in the food and it being on Sunday after church.

$12.50 a person, not a huge selection of food, and some things ran out. When the sushi ran out and we asked for more we were told they were out and handed a menu and told we could order from the place down the road they delivered, it was 4:50pm and they r open till 9pm. They one kind of sushi was nasty they 6 other pieces I got to taste were ok not the best. My husband did like the seafood salad. For what they charge u would think they could get there chef to make some sushi and fresh food. The food was old and the bar kept running out. The waitress wouldnt refill our drinks my son had to go refill them she refilled the people behind us 4 times. We won't be back ever, save ur money and go somewhere else. DO NOT EAT HERE.

We went tonight on a Tuesday at 5pm. The food was awful looking & looked like it had been sitting there all day. The worse part was several dishes I put on my plate were not even warm like the ribs & egg rolls. We asked them to take the temperature of the food & they kept making up excuses so we told them we would not eat there & started to leave & they told us we had to pay for our drinks that we NEVER even touched!!! I would not advise anyone to eat there unless you wanna go all Hunger Games & hope the odds are ever in your favor! I will be calling the health department in the morning!!!

I have eaten here several times over the years and today was last time. Parking lot a entrance area are filthy just gets worse. Observed a kitchen worker scrapping dirty plates then walked over and stirred food containers and refilling. The nylon gloves are not to protect workers in this situation. Looked up at ceiling above food and paint patches are flaking off and other areas has a lot of mold and rot. This building is approx 50 + years old, it was a Mexican restaurant when I was a teenager. City health inspector needs to open their eyes and enforce or condemn. Do not go to bathroom.

Actually if it was up to me then I wouldn't even give any stars. The food today wasn't good at all!! Well the babies liked the lo mein. I was very dissatisfied with my experience tonight at jefferson. If 0 stars was an option I would put 0. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. My 4 year old was eating and the waitress took his plate while he was still eating off of it. She also took my plate while after I had already told her that we were not finished with it. My next complaint is that instead of asking if we were finished eating or finished with the plates that were closer to the wall she reached right across the plate I was eating to get another plate that had an eggroll on it that I was planning on eating and took it even after i told her i was about to eat it. The food was awful. The broccoli was not cooked well and the rest of the food was cold. When I asked if they were going to put more food out she said after all the food was gone then they would put fresh food out. Newsfladh nobody wants to pay $9.74 a person and have to eat old cold food. Spend your miney elsewhere this place is horrible.

Just went up there to have a nice date with my partner and there was black mold on the signs. The worst part is hearing from the counry that they are going to the animal shelter, picking up 50+ cats and serving them to customers! Shut this place down!

I just ate here a while ago with my sister not only was there barely any food but the food that was out was horrible. Most was over cooked, bland or under cooked. We both got sick instantly on the way home. Our waitress was extremely nice but not at all attentive to us. We saw her only three times. When she sat us brought our drinks and gave us our ticket. Also there was no wet floor signs and people were slipping left and right and they ignored it .I even saw a little girl fall and do the splits and they just looked at her and turned around. Rude! I am glad to say I will never be back!!

Horrible! We called, they said their prices where 9.40 a person for lunch buffet prices. Children are 7.50 They charged us for dinner prices because when they checked us out it just turned 3. I explained that we came in for the lunch, at the lunch time at 2:20. I proceeded to check the price and they still overcharged me 15$. I asked why they said well it's not 11.80 per person anymore now it's 15. (She just told me 2 minutues prior it was 11.80) Including my 6yr old child!!!! She then started to say sorry but with the rudest attitude! Food was horrible place smells!!

Food was poor quality, some was hot, some was warm, & some was cold. Had the front doors propped open and no AC. We received our check & went to pay and was told that it was totaled wrong by waiter and that it would be more of course. Paid with debit card & asked for receipt which only showed a subtotal and tax. Asked for a detailed one & was told that they could'nt do that. We have been charged a different amount for our same party the last 3 times we have eaten there. We will not be returning again.

I have not been in there for a couple years. Today I took my grandson and his fiancé in there for his 23rd birthday. I was so disappointed. The food on the buffet was very cold . They used the excuse it was our current temperatures outside because it is very cold right now. They did not offer to refund our meal but did offer to heat it up in the microwave. I said no thank you . We paid and left. The bottoms of the tables were rusted and they sat us on the far side of the restaurant where no one was was and they weren’t busy at all table that the top Was peeling off of and as I said all the table legs and bases were rusted. The floor was greasy. I can say after today 01/10/2025 I will not go back in there ever again. I am not trying to be ugly because I don’t ever leave a review paper or otherwise. Total bill for 3 people 2 sodas and 1 water $40.00 Thanks

Worst food ever. I spit out the broccoli and beef. Christmas Chen was super dry and everything looked like it was there forever. Fried rice was burnt and even their soup was dry. Do not go here. 12 dollars for horrible food and service… I even got sick after leaving

If I could do 0 stars I would have. I did an online order and paid $87 on it. I went and picked it up got home and half my order was missing. I did not get my wantons, the sweet and sour sour for my chicken, my dumplings, and my fried rice. And they will not replace anything or refund me some money for what was missing. I am so disappointed in them.

Small place needs an uplift, HAIR IN FOOD !!! Very uncomfortable chairs/benches and utensils were super cheap. Swear they just picked them up from the Goodwill nearby if I were to summarize this place based on stars I'd give it a 1 star. Also too expensive.

This place is very nasty and the tables are sticky as well as the floor it's like they mopped the floor and table with the same mop. I've been to this restaurant since I was a child and it was great until around a year ago I decided to get food to take out and obviously eat, I grabbed around 4-5 plates for my whole family and it was around 50$ bucks, once I got home my mother had opened a rice plate that I had grabbed for her since it was her favorite and she shockingly told me there was a roach leg in the rice! I had bad experiences in the past but I decided to give them another chance just for me to be disappointed again! Last time there was a hair in my father's food plate! this is very disgusting and unsanitary they really need someone to inspect that place, call gordon ramsey or someone! This place need immediate help!!

We took 4 people for dinner at 4 pm tonight we only got one plate each and most of the food was left on the plates because the food tasted old ( chicken for sweet and sour chicken was old and hard couldn't even bite into it) and the seafood tasted horrible rancid My husband bit into a piece of shrimp and immediately spit it back out said it tasted spoiled The food was so bad we didn't even attempt desserts. we got charged $70 for food that was nothing more than trash Will not be returning

The place was VERY hot. We were told the A/C wasn't working right. The food was terrible on the buffet. No one in my party was happy with the food. Food was terrible n hArd from sitting out to long. Desserts tasted terrible.They have no ice cream AND appearantly they charge you for a gratutity free when staff Is paid hourly instead of making waitress hourly pay without you knowing before hand. They charge ten years olds as an adult for 14.99 my 9 year old for 9.99 AND my 2 year old for 7.50. A freaking 2 year old they ate freaking jello n two bites of a shrimp. Jefferson Buffet severely disappointed me today. I wish I could leave less then one star. I used to go to this buffet with my family when I was younger and since I was in town I decided to take my mom out as a treat. The food was cold and stale, which I could normally let pass for a few dishes since this is a buffet. However, everything I ate was cold to lukewarm and either burnt (dumplings) or mushy (noodles). We both only did one small plate and I was gonna get some fruit and a little square cake to try something supposed to be cold before writing this visit off as a total waste. I just set the plate on the table when my mother exclaimed that the little cake was molded. I looked at the cake and much to my disgust there was indeed mold all in and over the cake. We both agreed to be done and waved over our waiter, who we showed the molded food to. She offered us a 10% discount, but did not throw away the rest of the little cakes that most likely still had mold on them, to my knowledge. I will not be returning and caution others to be weary of their food if choosing to go here.

I’ve been going to this place for years with my family and have never had a problem until tonight when I went to get a Togo tray, and when I got back to work to eat it I found a cockroach or some kind of brown bug in my sweet and sour chicken . They really need to get a handle on this and clean their kitchen or something because this is unacceptable for people to eat ! Also their bathrooms are never that clean so I guess I should’ve known the kitchen wouldn’t be either ! If I could give this place zero stars I most definitely would !
