Opinions de Mt Fuji Hibachi Steakhouse Mount Pleasant
The sushi is so fresh. Angry Dragon roll is recommended. Happy Family is great! Give this place a chance.
Came here for our 23rd anniversary dinner. Had Tempura shrimp and pork dumplings for appetizers. Both were wonderful. Had NY steak hibachi for the meal. Steak was flavorful and tender, and cooked how I like it. The veggies were tasty and tender without being overcooked. Service was prompt and unobtrusive. Another restaurant gem in Mt Pleasant!
Our first time here. We were extremely pleased to find such a quality sushi restaurant near where we live. Every single item we ordered was exceptional. Service was exceptional as well. It's so rare to find such a quality restaurant east of Dallas. We will definitely be back soon! Thank you Mt. Fuji!
If your looking for great food that tastes fresh and delicious look no further. Everytime I visit I leave happy. Service is always top notch and servers are wonderful. Food is amazing and always tastes fresh! Love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the price is just right. You will not leave hungry, the portions are generous! Love this place!!! This is my family's go to for great sushi and asian fusion!
I absolutely love the aesthetic of this place, the costumer service is awesome, and the food is amazing! Everything looks so fancy and at a good price too! I went there with my family after taking an important test, and it really cheered me up, and my family seemed to really enjoy it too! It's one of my favorite restaurants and I'll be coming here every chance I get!
My husband and I moved from Houston to Mount Pleasant a couple months ago and have been looking for genuine, delicious Asian cuisine and have FINALLY found it at Mt. Fuji! I'm so glad we decided to try it because it was amazing! My sweet & sour chicken was fresh with a crispy, perfect batter and the portion size was enormous - could definitely share with someone. The fried rice that came with it was also great. My husband got the Phoenix roll, which he thoroughly enjoyed. It was beautifully displayed as well! The staff was friendly and the prices were fair. We will most definitely go back again and again!
We all 5 had hibachi grill and all of it was delicious. Rice needs to be warmer is the only improvement. DO ask for the egg drop soup that is complimentary. The other kind wasn't very good. My grandson had soft shell crab hand rolls which he enjoyed. We will definitely return for more visits.
Was a little pricy, $80 for 2 people, to get a half pound of crawfish you also have to get a half pound of something else, so you still spend 20 a person other than that it was really good.
Always love getting sushi here!
Service was great. Food was delicious! We has sushi rolls, hibachi and sweet and sour chicken. Great fresh brewed sweet tea. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own.
We had this for the first time tonight and ordered take out..there are no words to express how delicious it was..honestly, hands down, amazing! Life long customers from this point on!! WOW❤️
Excellent sushi went here for my anniversary. The atmosphere is laid back, and the food is excellent. Some of the best sushi I have had. I am willing to drive an hour to go and eat here. It's definitely worth a try if you are out on the town or in the area.
Nice place in a small town. The waitress was really nice. All the food was good. Nice beverage selection.
We stopped for dinner here with our family. 4 adults, 4 kids, aged 5-14. The menu had something for everyone. Sushi was delicious! Bento box was perfect with great variety! Loved the ginger salad dressing also. We will definitely be back!
Late night dinner after helping granddaughter with four littles - sports practices. The food was excellent, and the servers were extremely patient and kind with children, and even though it was nearing closing time, we were not rushed in any way. Food was served promptly and servers checked back to see if anything else was needed.
I have been searching everywhere for good Chinese food in Mount pleasant . All this time I thought this place only sold sushi, wow they have the best Chinese food unbelievable! I will definitely be back and I highly recommend.
I don't know about the people giving negative reviews, but I've eaten at ALOT of sushi restaurants, including DFW, and my first visit here was great. The prices were on par with other places, the presentation was very attractive, and the service was good in my opinion. We had four different rolls, and they were well made and tasty. Some rolls fall apart on you, and these didn't. The menu also had a nice variety of rolls and other dishes. The ONLY downside was that our table was a little sticky and needed better cleaning. I'll definitely be back!
My sister-in-law and I absolutely love coming here. The service is outstanding, constantly checking to see if we need anything else, and always in a good mood. It wasn’t busy when I went so the food didn’t take long. The pork dumplings were absolutely delicious!!
I get sushi at least once a week, Mt Fuji never disappoints! My salmon and tuna, always high quality cuts with a large serving which I really appreciate. The only downside is that they are closed on Tuesdays. Had to get my sushi from Round Eye, horrible scraps of salmon that smelled fishy, off color and was so small it was ridiculous. So thank you Mt Fuji for always producing the high quality, delicious, rich in color sushi that I enjoy every week!!
I have been SLEEPING on this place! 6 years and I have not tried it and it was fantastic! Some of the best steak and shrimp I have had in the area! Great spring and veggie rolls, also! 10 out of 10, highly recommend! 🔟/🔟
Best place to have a quiet, sit down lunch or dinner. Patrick, the new IRISH owner, is very nice. Courteous waitstaff. Lots of great menu options and great prices. The fish was fresh, bento box perfect and the mochi ice cream was da bomb. Be sure to order your mochi ice cream first because life is short - eat dessert first!
I have been here multiple times with my husband and its been absolutely delicious every time! Our 1st time was for my mother-in-law's bday and it was the best sushi she has ever had! Service is amazing and the food is absolutely amazing! Keep up the good work!
Outstanding food and great service! I tend to judge Japanese food by fairly high standards from having served in Hawaii and Japan, I can honestly say, these folks nailed it! I had the steak teriyaki bento box but swapped out the California rolls for spicy tuna rolls. The spicy tuna rolls were perfect, the tempura shrimp was spot on and the teriyaki steak was incredible. Very happy that we stopped in and had a fantastic anniversary dinner.
Service was a little slow, but the food was excellent as always. I had a vegetable hibachi lunch with a miso soup, and I tried this lovely new Sweetheart Roll special along with it. Perfect balance of spice, crunch, and savory with a precious presentation.
It wasn't very busy so the food was astonishingly quick. The miso soup, salad, gyoza, and steak/shrimp hibachi were all well seasoned, good sized portions, and correctly cooked. I highly recommend Mt. Fuji Hibachi
Hands down best in the area. I can’t recommend the avocado rolls enough! They are so smooth and delicious! Sweet potato rolls are amazing as well. You can see the chef preparing the sushi. Very friendly staff.
I continue to be impressed with the quality of the sushi and the thought that goes into the presentation. The price can’t be beat either. Absolutely a place you should try. My wife also likes their hibachi so good choices all around.

I've been here a million times and have NEVER had a bad meal or bad service. The food is always BEAUTIFUL and delicious! Hands down, my favorite place to eat in East Tx. All of their rolls are 🔥 And so is their steak. I absolutely LOVE the coconut shrimp, all of the rolls, and the GINGER AVOCADO SALAD IS AMAZING and I HATE salad lol
We go here ALL THE TIME, and we are literally NEVER disappointed. At all. Ever. It’s always good as HAYEL!😂 Service is kinda slow but, they’re pretty busy so it’s all good lol the food makes up for it!
Got takeout! Steak&shrimp was absolutely delicious, stk was so tender- my husband got the chicken &shrimp, also delicious! Spicy tuna roll - yum! Shrimp tempura roll- so so good! EAT HERE 😋
Absolutely love this place! The food is so good what's the capital of different Asian spins on plates. I have a friend that drives in 45 minutes just to eat here with me.
Our favorite place for takeout! We order out about once every week or two and are always so pleased with our food! Portion sizes are generous and we always have leftovers. When our daughter visits, this is one of the first places she asks for! The best Asian food in Mount Pleasant by far! The others do not even compare!

We were a group 8 and the service was very good. The New York steak Hibachi was tender and flavorful. Very pleased.
Sushi rolls are our go to when we visit. We have also tried the bento boxes and have not been disappointed by anything.
A little different than the usual Mount Pleasant dining places. Iwas concerned about the size of the portions, but we were more than full when we left. The coconut shrimp were as big as bananas. The service took a bit longer than it should, but they're new. I'd come here again despite the wait.
It's food is.mostly wonderful. There are times it's sub par so be on watch. Like when power may have been out. And the prices are really high. Like 50$ for 4 sushi. Three is no chef cooking infrastructure of you so if that's the hibachi you want it's not here.
The videos of Asia are great on the wall. Dark environment but always good experience
Great selection. Food and service were good.
I ordered the NY strip for myself and my husband. I have to say that was the worst cut of meat I've had. Very fatty and cut super thin. I won't order that again. I do enjoy their sushi though, just don't like the price.
Service was quick and food tasted good! We would definitely come again! We plan on trying one of the sushi boats next time! 😀

It's okay. Came in with family on a Monday before 6p, ordered 2 appetizers (Sashimi & sushi) & 6 sushi rolls. The food started coming out at 7, appetizers included. Had to constantly ask waitress to refill waters while waiting for food. There was only 1 other table in our room. Food was just okay. Fried sushi was more enjoyable. Would not pick this place over any of my usual go-to places in Dallas or Frisco nor would it be in the running but I'm sure it is a nice change for people in and around the Mount Pleasant area from their normal restaurants.

Food was ok. Staff was friendly, prices a bit high for what you received . The sushi rolls were very small in comparison to a "real" roll but ingredients seemed to be of decent quality. Definitely not top shelf but OK. However the Building itself was filthy, tables were sticky, bathroom has obviously not been cleaned in years. Lighting is really dark probably to hide the filth. Reception counter covered in cheap plastic junk toys for sale which cheapens the overall feel of the restaurant.
My rating is in hopes that this restaurant will improve. I ordered take out from here and I was not impressed. Maybe I am have gotten snobby with hibachi since I have enjoyed it on both coasts. Sakura located in Altus, OK does a much better job. The place is small so there should not be a need for a claw machine or tourist trap trinkets in the front of the restaurant. This says to me that we don't trust the quality of our product enough not to try and seduce your kids into pestering parents for some machine fed bobble. Next the food. Ordered Edamame. It is supposed to have sea salt all over it yet it only had a pinch of sea salt on a 1/8 of a portion as an after thought. It also had black flakes all over it which I thought was pepper. I had never heard of pepper on this before. It didn't taste like pepper so I can only think that the beans were not rinsed before preparation. Gyoza (Japanese dumpling) I have eaten at steamed dumpling restaurants in Hawaii and have never been asked if I wanted fried or steamed gyoza. I am thinking of the hundreds of pictures you can get on the internet where it may have been steamed yet it will be pan fried/seared. Nope just dropped in a a frier like french fries. This is lazy gyoza. I ordered the steak and scallop hibachi and the steak and shrimp hibachi. Everything here was cooked well. the steak was done to medium as requested. I would say the flavor, while it did have some, was underwhelming. The fried rice had just enough soy sauce to change the color of the rice yet I guess there was no MSG added, basically bland for fried rice. It was as if the rice was steamed with soy sauce rather than being fried rice which can happen when the rice is not dehydrated a bit overnight. The chicken looked as if I had pan fried it at home. No Americanized dipping sauces were provided you would find in the states: yum-yum, ginger sauce and not even any ponzu or yakiniku no tare that you would find in Japan. I ordered the egg drop soup to go along with the meal. This is the first time I have ever seen egg drop soup that was as orange as President Trump. Tasted fine. Just odd. The quality of the meal did not meet a threshold to garner industry standard pricing. I know we are in deep East Texas, but we should still have better standards. It may have been that the ball was dropped because they were busy when I ordered or the staff felt less attention can be placed on a to-go order, I don't know. Overall I was disappointed.

The food is good here, but DON'T order food to go. If you do, make sure you check both your receipt and your order. Instead of charging you for the hibachi meal, they will charge you for each item as an individual side item and then leave the vegetables and salad out of the meal. This has happened to me multiple times, but I didn't find out until I got home. When I called them about it this they did nothing to fix my order.
I placed a to go order for my birthday dinner, arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes later. They have people packed in a small 6x6 room at the front because "covid". A little counter productive. I waited a few minutes, no one came. Rang the bell, no one came. I went inside, there was 1 girl waiting tables, busing, and doing the to go orders. My order wasn't ready yet, I waited outside until it was ready. I get home and my order was wrong. I packed it back up and took it back 10 minutes until closing. I asked for a refund because I didn't want to eat chinese food that's been sitting in to go container for an hour, mmm soggy. This lady has the audacity to look through a foggy container lid and tell me no because I ate the broccoli. TF? I opened the container lid to present the bountiful harvest of untouched broccoli in the container. "Oh." A guy came from the back and said he could remake my lo mein, but that was it, because my food wasn't "cold enough yet". Wanted me to wait 5-10 minutes longer to make the lo mein as the rest of my order got colder. I left without food, a refund, and 30 bucks poorer. Happy Birthday to me.
The fact that this is so highly rated is mind boggling. This is by far the WORST Japanese food restaurant I have ever eaten and let’s just be mild and say I’ve eaten at a few. Everything was dry and lacked flavor, the service was awful. For goodness sake it took 2 waitress to tell me if the crab was imitation or real… I’m just honestly super upset that I waisted 40$. I confronted the waitress who pretty much said nothing, and I left with full to go boxes of gross food I pod 40$ for, and had to go home and make lunch because it was that bad. Any one considering eating here should go to Panda Express across the way, It’s cheaper and probably equal or better quality.
I have eaten here multiple times but today I experienced one of the worst experiences ever in the food industry. Found a hair in our food & the owner/boss refused to do anything about it because “it’s not their hair”. Also tried to make us pay for the food we did NOT eat & had terrible customer service.
