I ended up at this place after my appt. I am from Monterey, so it's pretty far. Anyways, since I got inside the place, the people were very welcoming. Nice people, clean place, great menu, and yummy food! May good fortune shine on you in the new year. Happy New Year 🧨🧧🐯

Great place to have delicious bagels!

The bagels here stand up against the bagel shops on the east coast (yes, they boil them). It’s worth going out of your way for this place. So far, I’ve had their poppy seed bagels and jalapeño bagels. Also, their coffee is pretty solid.

Look no further. This is the perfect New York style bagel, chewy and full of flavor. They are also generous and use fresh and high quality ingredients when building their sandwiches, which made us really happy. I wish I was physically able to eat a whole dozen of their bagels because they're so satisfying.

Overall big fan but most recent experience left a bad impression. I ordered a lox bagel sandwich and they left out everything except the lox. No onions, tomatoes, etc. I only found out once I got home and felt sad eating one of my favorite bagels in the Bay Area. Edit: upgrading to 5 stars due to quick receptiveness to feedback!

The owner May is so warm and accommodating! I went after they're close, but she still opened the door for me. Bagels were good. Is it the best in town? I can't taste the difference between the best ones and the decent ones. I'd definitely go back for the bagels and the warm hospitality!

Hands down best bagel place in Bay Area!(esp for vegetarians) Also the best House of bagels outlet too amongst all other HOB outlets here. Rich variety, great quality of both bagels and cream cheese type! People running the place are extremely friendly and patient with your confusion to decide your order lol! Seating is not ideal but bagels are as best as they come :) Top favourites- 1. Veggie bagel-which (without sprouts and olives) with Jalapeño cheddar bagel and garlic herb cream cheese 2. Pesto bagel - best! Runs out super quick 3. Veggies cream cheese + garlic herb cream cheese combo in everything bagel 4. Tuna melt - Jalapeño cheddar bagel with (for non vegetarians) - liked by my partner! I always forget to take pictures of the food and place when I go here only because I just can’t wait to gobble them :D Will post some next time!

When you have a taste for bagels, head over to Mountain View to the house of bagels. They have an impressive selection of delicious varieties. My favorite has always been the everything bagel. You can stop there for a bagel breakfast or a bagel sandwich for lunch and eat outside at their tables or take it elsewhere. They open at 6:30 a.m. but close by 3:30 p.m. so go early but don't stay late!

They have a good mix of beverages made to standard. I got the Thai tea with boba and bagel and it was great. Husband got a cup of cappuccino and it was very nicely hot. Good prices too!

There's always a line out the door (due to covid precautions). They have great selection of bagels and bagel sandwiches. My go to bagel is their jalapeno bagel.

A favorite local goto spot for excellent fresh bagels and bagel sandwiches. The bacon omelet bagel on poppy is a favorite. They also have a nice selection of pumpernickel, rye and other interesting flavors. They have good coffee - I particularly enjoy their French Roast. The counter service is friendly and efficient. There's a little room for sitting inside, and a little outside by the parking lot. You don't go there for the ambiance - you go there for the bagels.

they have a pretty big menu inside and provide fast service. there was a bit too much cream cheese on my bagel but it was fine. the food we ordered tasted great and the staff was nice. it was so busy and there were a ton of people coming in to the restaurant and a lot of people going out because they were so busy the morning we visited.

Bacon, egg & cheese bagel was a solid recommendation, albeit a bit pricey. Varied selection of beverages and types of bagels plus day old bagels available for discounted price. Outdoor seating for those with dogs.

I just moved to CA from NJ 9 months ago. I've tried a handful of bagel places around the South Bay area since then, hoping to get my "fix" of real NY-style bagels. I had almost given up hope... but House of Bagels hit the spot! A nice crust (evidence of a legit boil) and chewy, doughy crumb. This was distinctly a bagel - not just bread/a roll in a bagel shape (which seems to pass for a bagel around these parts). The veggie cream cheese was good, not the best I've had. I'd prefer bigger chunks of veggies in there - but that's a personal preference. On my quest for east-coast bagels though there are still two things I still can't seem to understand: (1) all-in-one bagels (akin to the "everything" on the east cost) here don't seem to come with salt on them. Why? Salt makes it taste so much better; and (2) almost every bagel place I go to microwaves their eggs. This kills me. Microwaved eggs just don't cut it! The stovetop griddle is a necessary staple for amazing breakfast sandwiches.

Bagels are good, but suddenly, after a few years of going there, there’s a min $5 purchase to use a credit card. And the person taking my order did not communicate with the person making my order... and both got upset with me?? So I wonder if they don’t want my business. I’ll find another place I suppose.

I have been going here for many years. The past year or so they have almost always screwed up my orders. I have given that a pass but now I noticed the day old bagels have gone up $2.50 in the past week and a regular dozen of bagels is $20.00. To me that's insanity and greedy. I am from NY and bagels there are not twenty dollars a dozen. I really like to support my local businesses but now I am only going to support businesses that don't rip people off

They made my order wrong and the veggie cream cheese had a carrot chunk the size of the tip of my finger. Not good for the wait

The bagels turned into trash. It was the most delicious bread in the area, but something has changed. They microwave bread now. It doesn't taste fresh anymore. Just ordinar microwaved bread, no crispy, no satisfaction. We used to enjoy these bagels. Have to find anything else. The quality went down last two times we visited this place. Pity :(

I ordered via DoorDash and as I went there to pick up after being notified, the lady at the counter was very rude and asked me to wait for 5 minutes without looking at my order(btw it was not a busy time at all). I waited for 15min before getting my order even though it was ready a while ago and everything by that time was cold. I liked their bagels, but service is not worth it.

A big row of microwaves is all I should say but I'm going to add microwave eggs, for real? Nonsense and it should not have the ratings it does. On yeah, one more thing pickled jalapenos in the eggs on the Baja sandwich. Garbage garbage garbage.

I can admit that I accidentally selected jalapeño cream cheese, because they had it abbreviated as c.c. I don't work here & I don't order bagels every day, so the abbreviation threw me off, but I should've read it more closely. Then there is a page where you select the bagel, & I clicked on "jalapeño bagel" (see photo). A few pages after that I'm on the page that says "Go half-and-half on another spread of your choosing", where I clicked on the box "/Pesto ($0.50)" (see photo). So I should've gotten a jalapeño bagel with 1/2 jalapeño cream cheese & 1/2 pesto. Instead, I got a pesto bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. My friend asked me what I ordered & I told her, & I said I was confused because I wasn't finding any pesto in the cream cheese, but there were crunchy things in the cream cheese. I thought maybe celery? I went to the counter & nicely explained that I think there had been a mistake. Before I could finish my sentence, the worker cut me off & said that she made it how I ordered it. Then an Asian lady chimed in & told me that I made a mistake & ordered pesto bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. She did not try to understand the situation & didn't even try to see what could be done. At that point I was almost half way done with the bagel, so I wasn't expecting a whole new one. I was hoping maybe they could give me some pesto in a little cup so that I could add it in to what was left. I was just so put off with both workers’ lack of customer service & being so rude on top of that. Why do I have to get scolded when I just spent money here?! That's when I decided to check the iPad & re-order the same thing to see if I had ordered incorrectly, or if there was a mistake made somewhere else down the line. I saw that I had indeed selected "jalapeño bagel" & "/Pesto ($0.50)". So I paid an extra 50 cents, didn't get what I ordered, didn't have anyone try to rectify the situation & got scolded on top of that. I went back to the counter, not looking for a fight, but just wanted to explain that there was a mistake made in my order. Really, a sincere "we're sorry about that, what can we do to fix this?" would have been really nice. I politely told the Asian lady that I think a mistake was in fact made & she replied: "so you think I'm wrong?" Wow, aggressive & overly defensive! It's not a big deal to make a mistake. Just do what you can to correct it. I told her: "I think there's an issue in your ordering system that doesn't send the orders over correctly." Then she said: "Come back tomorrow & we give you." What in the world makes you think I would ever want to come back?! What a shameless, greedy money-grabbing way to write somebody off! I told the Asian man that he should come & look at the iPad with me. At this point the Asian lady says a bunch of stuff angrily in Vietnamese. They should want to see that & fix it, right? I shouldn't have to persuade them about this? I had to ask the Asian man 3 times to come over to the iPad so I can show him. The Asian lady made a loud sigh & the Asian man rolled his eyes & sighed before finally coming over to the iPad. I told them that I paid extra for this. The man said: "how much extra you pay?" I replied: "I don't want any money back, but maybe someone could've apologized instead --". At this point the Asian lady cut me off & said "I'm sorry" with a large smirk on her face.
