Opinions de Red Rock Coffee Mountain View
Nice place! The lattes are good, the espresso has a slightly unique flavor with the beans they use but it’s very tasty! Was there on a Friday morning and the 2nd floor was pretty busy with lots of people remote working, still quiet with just a few people taking calls here and there. Addition: came back a few days later and got an iced latte, it was even better than the hot latte!
Great coffee and baked treats. The upstairs has a wonderful, quiet, relaxed ambience. Open mic on Monday evenings.
Good neighborhood cafe in downtown Mountain View. Quality espresso drinks with indoor and outdoor seating. They don’t roast their own beans but use quality product.
Beaut little shop, I always go in the morning to get a coffee before work. It's a local fixture which has been around forever, and it fills up with locals chatting, remote workers, and sometimes animals (with owners) too! The coffee is reasonably priced, and has a strong calm taste. Not too out there, not too fancy, but solid and tasty. They have pastries and bikkies.
The Gibraltar was my first and it was spectacular. Rich, velvety, smooth…. I felt downright decadent and indulged. All while standing in a very standard comfortable neighborhood coffee shop. The service was excellent and subtle. The coffee was perfect. It was just the right size, just the right amount of bold. I felt like Goldilocks - this coffee fit me just right.
There is no outside food allowed here. I know this because there were three signs to remind me. I wonder if there is an exception for service food, like emotional support food. There are some days that I really don't know how I'd cope without chocolate covered almonds. Luckily, when I was at Red Rock, I wasn't having one of those days. I got a drip coffee to go, it was great!
Literally a cornerstone coffee shop on Castro Street, Mountain View, this is the go-to coffee shop of mountain view, IMO. It always has an energetic vibe here and the baristas are dynamic and friendly. It is right near the farmer's market so it's a great place to go to before or after, or even bring one of the delicious pastries from the farmer market and enjoy with a coffee here. However, there is no lack of selection as far as accompaniments to your coffee here. The almonds croissant is quite distinctive and a specialty of theirs, as is there coffee cakes - I having a predilection for their blueberry coffee cake. They have plenty of seating both inside and out, though I have a preference to set one of their side tables alongside their classic granite building wall outside. On weekends though it can get pretty busy, so be prepared to stake out your table 😃 If you are in Mountain view looking for a coffee, you can't go wrong with this place.
Unique and wonderfully located cafe in downtown Mountain View with an offering of a select few coffees specialties, espresso drinks, and non- coffee drinks. The establishment sources direct trade coffee, local sourced milk, and the coffee roast is balanced. The selections are few but the drinks I tried were fabulous. The staff here is also great. Everyone is super friendly and the vibe welcomes you to come here and hang out for a bit. They have plenty of indoor seating with a few tables outside as well. The decor is very modern and feels great. Worth coming here for great coffee or a place to relax with friends.
One of the best places for real coffee with great service. We had our usual Cappuccino which had aromatic flavor and that perfect strength that you need for cold and rainy weather. Seating arrangement is bit cramped on the ground floor but on the plus side, great way to bump into people and strike impromptu conversations.

Great food, quick, friendly service. Try one of the Benedict's. Has been a go to breakfast place for 15 years. Kids love the hot chocolate.

Nice old building vibe… And a very traditional small-cup cappuccino with neat dense foam.
I placed my order, but the young man at the counter took too long to get the cake out of the refrigerator; I waited 20 minutes. There were no free tables, and it wasn't very clean. The tables were dirty, and the toilet was out of order. Coffee cool
Cute spot on Castro St, right in the heart of downtown Mountain View - so lots of foot traffic and lots of customers inside. This place has a cozy upstairs spot that is filled to the brim with laptops, and the people that are operating them, including all the hushed (and not-so-hushed) conversations that go along with video work meetings and collaborative vibe-coding. Next time I go, I think I will record the conversations I couldn't help but overhear and write a classic SNL sketch. The almond milk Chai I enjoyed was foamed to perfection, the perfect temperature, with all the necessary flavors balanced just right - wonderfully executed by a friendly staff. That being said, this loveliness comes at a price - my 16oz drink cost me $9.75! The most expensive 16oz almond milk Chai I have ever purchased. Red Rock is hitting all the right notes, and they're located in a spot where there may be enough customers to support prices that are roughly 30% higher than comparable coffee shops around the area. I enjoyed my visit, and may likely visit again, but if I lived nearby, I couldn't support spending that kind of money every day.
The two main things that work for red rock coffee are its location and its timing. Bang in the middle of Castro Street and open till 8 PM, if you want to work in a cafe later in the day, this is a good spot. That’s free, Wi-Fi and plenty of Desk to work from. Almost everybody, I saw in the cafe was working. They also have an event venue on the second floor, but I did not end up Checking it out. I went on a Saturday evening, and there was only one barista. He seemed a little overwhelmed, but was still patient and kind. The coffee itself was quite mid though. Somehow felt a little watered down and not as strong as I prefer them to be.

I was having really high hopes for this coffee place, but honestly it left me a little disappointed and thrown off. It came at me to no surprise that this place was going to be packed with people on a Sunday morning — but what I did not expect was the passive aggressiveness that was given to me by the barista taking my order at the table — only to be nice to all the other patrons coming in the door. On the flip side though, the lavender honey latte was good. It wasn’t too sweet, but it also had a very slick and creamy taste to it as well. I especially liked the latte art that they put as well. I actually loved the aesthetic of the coffee shop in itself — and I also didn’t know that there was a second floor to this shop! Perhaps the next time I’m here, I will try the seating upstairs (just so it isn’t so crowded and there’s more space for me to work).
1. Good coffee (paid ~$9 for a coffee) 2. The upstairs space can be a bit stuffy 3. The one restroom in the entire café!
This photo is for the rude and condescending barista who informed me today that Red Rock Coffee never carried the Sightglass Blueboon blend (I have bought it there) and that they don't even make a blend called Blueboon. I didn't dare show her the website because frankly I was concerned that she would cause a scene. Do better vetting your employees.

Oh my god I finally find a coffee place that brews coffee with good beans (sight glass) and a pour over is ten f*cking dollars. What?! You'd better be paying your employees well, that's more than I…
They don't have cream or milk out on the counter to add to your coffee/tea so I had to wait to ask for some from the barista and I was standing in the way and disrupting the flow but I'm not going to walk away unsatisfied with my drink just cuz they don't have the foresight to let their customers add their own cream/milk to their coffee/tea. They have this huge beautiful countertop that they only use to display coffees and they use this tiny side counter to call out customer drinks. So strange to me that they don't use the beautiful space they have to host a busy, friendly drinks bar!
Mocha uses cheap Ghirardelli Premium Chocolate Sauce where cocoa powder is the third ingredient following sugar and water - the end result tastes like Starbucks. You could make this at home. For great espresso drinks, try Tootsie’s in Palo Alto. For comparison, Tootsie’s uses imported 70% dark chocolate callets for a rich flavor you can sip compared to this, which tastes like a heated carton of hot chocolate.
I used to like staying at RR during Saturdays because the latte tastes rich and there are many seats on the second floor. However, I waited for 30mins just for a same old latte this time, and was very, very disappointed that there’s no explanation on why they forgot my order or why it took so long. They just gave it to me like nothing was messed up. I understand that baristas might get busy, but I’ve standing there ALL THE TIME waiting. Even some other customers noticed that I’ve been waiting for so long and said “good luck” to me. If I didn’t ask in the end, I would probably never get my latte. The unreasonable waiting has ruined my day, and now I only wish I didn’t tip for this drink.
This Silicon Valley take on Central Perk is some real bull(profanity removed). I popped in here on my way back down to LA from a weeklong work trip in SF. I ordered a standard cappuccino for myself a…
