We love their food and come often. Their service is very good! Speed of getting food ready is also good. Their sticky mango rice dessert is very good, sweet and ripe mangos. Still many dishes to try!
This actually turns out better than we expected! Guess it's not yet broadly shared on xiaohongshu but already got full house on a Friday evening. Food has 锅气 which is very authentic. Rotti with peanut sauce, papaya salad, spicy basil with ground pork all are very good. Their mild spicy level is probably medium in other American-Thai restaurant, authentic in its way. Prices are reasonable, we got more than we could finish.
While visiting Castro Street we decided to try this Thai restaurant and were very pleased with the quality and taste of the food, the service and the environment. The Mango salad with crispy tofu was exquisite. The spicy eggplant stir fry with prawn was also amazing. We paired it with steamed brown rice and after our first few bites decided we will definitely be back to try other dishes.
The owner was very nice and generous. The food was really good and the service was fast.
Everyone in our group loved their food. I recommend their curry dishes (Mussaman & yellow curry), spring rolls, ginger tea, and roti with cashew sauce appetizer.
We visited this place for team lunch. Great Thai place with excellent food! I loved the authenticity of the food and their service was great and friendly! Great vegetarian options too! Deserts were okayish! Worth a try!
One of the best Thai restaurants I have been. Hot Tom yum soup was made of shrimp, mushrooms and tomatoes and it was very sour. Hoa Mok Fish was tasty and the spice level was pretty good.
10/10 experience and food. I used to come to Amarin a lot when I lived nearby. I have not been back in a long time but was able to stop by the new location. I am so grateful that I was able to come back and have the mango cashew chicken & thai tea. Everything was delicious, just like I remembered. The service was great and everyone who helped me was so kind. I will be back when I am in the area again!
Best Thai food experience in Mountain View/Palo Alto. Our months- long search is over. We had chicken satay, soft tofu fresh rolls, and spicy basil tofu fried rice. All really good. Great service, airy, on a busy fun closed street. We will be back!
Very nice Thai restaurant. We enjoyed large coconut seafood soup and springs rolls and also Sinhga beer. Everything was fresh and tasty.
A very memorable lovely dining experience! First time at this lovely Italian Restaurant! We were celebrating our anniversary and were treated like family! Food was exceptional and you can tell the care put into the dishes with each plate served! Definitely will visit again soon! Owners put on romantic music when they heard we were celebrating our anniversary! If you are looking for a classy Italian dining experience Vasso Azzurro is the place! Thank you for an unforgettable dinner!❤️
Absolutely phenomenal service and quality for our corporate event that we hosted in a clinic. Allan and Minoo were very responsive and helpful in planning and executing the catering. They went above and beyond in making sure we had enough food, and everything was set up perfectly to make sure the food was hot by the time we served it. Thank you for making our event so memorable!
We had a family get together at Vaso Azzuro, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to host a big group of people. The food & service was good, but the hosts were fantastic. Not only were the hosts singing, but they created a fun atmosphere where people joined in and sang and danced their way to an amazing evening. A very family friendly spot & probably not the place if you’re looking for a very quiet dinner!
We were a party of 5. Went in for dinner on a Sunday night. Since I had a dog, we had to eat outside. Luckily weather was pleasant but overall pretty noisy given that there is nearby Train passing by almost every 15-20 mins. But, the service was outstanding. The service offered and they constantly checked up on us about our lives and other things. Conversations were engaging despite the place being packed and full. Food was great too. We being vegetarians, had ordered 4 different items and all were good I suppose. I had Maragarita pizza and it was excellent. Overall, would want to come back again in near future.
I’ve been to Vaso Azzurro a few times over the past year, always midweek, and every visit has been a genuinely warm and enjoyable experience. It’s a family-owned spot with such a close-knit group, and you can really feel the care they put into both the food and the service. They treat customers like friends, and it shows. They’ve been in business for over twenty years. The bar area tends to have their most loyal regulars and gives off a welcoming, familiar energy—it’s like the Cheers bar, where everyone knows your name (or learns it quickly). It can get moderately noisy, but in a fun and inclusive way, definitely not stuffy or formal. I’ve heard they used to do karaoke on certain nights, and while I haven’t been there for it, friends have told me it’s a blast. The calamari, Caprese salad, and tiramisu are my go-to dishes, they’re consistently yummy, flavorful, and satisfying. I haven’t tried everything on the menu, but those three are always solid. I also know people who’ve hosted private events here or had Vaso cater for big parties, and the team does a great job accommodating different group sizes. Their banquet menu is listed on their website and is surprisingly affordable compared to a lot of other places in the area. Service is always kind and attentive, which honestly keeps me coming back just as much as the food. It’s the kind of place where the staff remembers you fondly, and thrilled to see you always, and the experience always feels personal. Whether you’re dining with a group or just having a midweek bite, Vaso Azzurro has that mix of charm and heart that’s hard to find these days. They offer both indoor and patio seating, and the patio has heat lamps, which make it a cozy option even on cooler nights. Street parking is free, but it can be tricky during busy weekend hours, midweek has always been easier for me. However, plan ahead and you’ll have a wonderful experience.
The staff and the owner are super friendly and energetic. They'll definitely give you an experience that you won't forget. The food is also really good. I had Spaghetti Carbonara and I enjoyed it. Not to forget the bread and garlic olive oil that they have is something different, you'll love it. Also, the Tiramisu and Choco Lava cake are one of the best that you can have in the Bay Area
* Food: Solid, decent Italian. Nothing groundbreaking, but everything tasted good, including the basics like the olive oil and garlic. * Menu: great choice for full course (4 mains, 2 desserts). * Service: Staff was a definite plus – friendly and attentive. * Atmosphere: Sounds like it's party-friendly. * Overall: A reliable choice, especially for group gatherings. Not a culinary revelation, but you'll get a good meal and good service.
Good vegetarian appetizers and salads, the pasta we took veg fettuccini egg plant spicy tomato sauce was too sour and too much sauce for our taste, it was good spicy though. Need to try the gnocchi next time. We walked in at 6pm on Saturday and it was not busy but by 7pm you will definitely need a reservation. The chocolate lava cake was tasty, It’s amazing that their Tiramisu has no alcohol but is on a little sweeter side.
I really loved the atmosphere of this place the owner came to check on us and was super friendly. The meal I had was the lobster ravioli and man did they put a huge portion of lobster on it. It was very tasty rich and coated in vodka sauce. The rest of my coworkers loved this and their respective dishes.
This restaurant is an absolute gem! The warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the delicious food, makes every visit feel like a special occasion. The owners treat you like family, and their attention to detail, from the cozy ambiance to the beautiful birthday serenades, truly sets them apart. A visit here is like a mini-vacation to Italy, and I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself. Once you go, you'll find yourself returning again and again. Cheers to many more delightful meals and memories! 🍽️🎶🇮🇹🍝🥘🍤🥰
Very nice and cute restaurant on Mountain View Main Street. The atmosphere is nice and very recommended for a date or small family gatherings. The staff is warm and welcoming. Indoor and outdoor seating are both nice. The food is very good and authentic. The salad is well seasoning with dressings and the pasta is cooked perfectly. The chicken Parmesan is tender and delicious. It was a perfect date night.
Vaso Azzurro Restaurant holds a special place in our hearts as our beloved Italian dining spot conveniently located in downtown Mountain View. When it comes to appetizers, we can't resist their Calamari Fritti and Carpaccio di Manzo (raw beef). For main courses, our top choices are the Linguini Azzurro and the Fresh Catch of the Day. And when it's time for dessert, the Chocolate Lava Cake and Tiramisù never disappoint. The restaurant offers complimentary bread, served fresh with garlic and olive oil. Vaso Azzurro is a versatile venue suitable for various occasions, be it an indoor work event, birthday celebration, or a cozy family gathering. The ambiance reaches new heights when the staff serenades you with beautiful songs. Personally, I prefer the outdoor seating option, as it provides a delightful fusion of nature, gourmet cuisine, and the lively downtown atmosphere, especially on weekends.
Great Italian restaurant in the Mountain View area! We were greeted by the manager, who is a very friendly person. He was happy to give us some history about the restaurant and an overview of the each menu item. We started off with the freshly baked bread with a garlic oil. The bread came out warn and soft and the garlic oil tasted great. Then we had the Aubergines alla Modenese appetizer. Normally I wouldn't get it because there is no meat in it, but the eggplant and the savory sauce it was in made me not care that it was all vegetables. For dinner we had the Fettuccine alla Diavola - my youngest son loved it and could imagine it tasted similar to the appetizer I mentioned; my wife and oldest son had the Carne Lasagne - I tasted it and it was delicious, it had an earthy taste from the mushrooms, but we enjoyed how it blended in with the total experience; I had the Capesante di Venezia which was very flavorful, the risotto was cooked perfectly and the sauce that the tender prawns and scallops were in tasted great with the risotto. For dessert I had the Tiramisù - I enjoyed this as it wasn't too filling at all. Overall it was a great experience and we will probably revisit to taste other menu items. UPDATE 11/20 Still one of my top 5 places to go in Mountain View. I personally ordered their special if the day which was salmon with risotto and capers. It was delicious. The rest of my family had the lasagna, spaghetti carbonara, prawns with polenta. All of these were delicious and have uploaded photos.
Trying this place after 10 years. The quality has gone down compared to our last experience. The spring roll was good but the sauce could have been better. It was too salty that it overwhelmed other tastes. Pineapple fried rice was good you can’t go wrong with it. Green curry was delicious. I think this was the only place that I could find spicy Thai curry. Overall, good meal, but kinda overpriced.
We have eaten here for years and this is the first time at the new location. This place is half the size of the old location that was across the street. The food is still very good. Mango cashew chicken is a family favorite. Service has room for improvement. They dropped stacks of plates on the center of our table and had us place them, dropped 4 glasses and left at the side of the table, and brought the wrong appetizer by accident, We will still return and hope service is better next time.
The food was delicious I enjoyed the green curry I ordered and the pan-fried noodles. Service: The server was also really attentive to our friends’ nut allergy so I appreciated how they went back to check if the dishes were nut-free. The service can be slow also. We waited a while for our food and they almost missed the last dish we ordered, so expect to wait after you order. Restaurant: The restaurant has plenty of seatings. They have Thai decorations on the wall which is nice to see. It also looks like they have the tables where you sit on the floor, but those were closed when we came. Parking: Parking around downtown Mountain View’s not bad. We just parked in one of the lots nearby.
The food was really delicious but I am giving four stars because they gave us small dish and it was hard for us to eat in small dish. Apart from this the overall quality of food was awesome and the service was also good. Along with it they also helped us by keeping the cake in refrigerator as went to celebrate one of friends birthday. Fried rice , spring roll, pranthey and chutney and special salad was too good but the quantity was less as per price. I am definitely going there again!!
A great Thai place to eat with friends! The Tom ka soup is pretty good! I ordered with seafood. Curry is a bit salty but I guess you need to eat it with lots of rices, crab fried rice is my favorite! I had it twice but first time is better than second I guess. Still enjoyable
Came for lunch. Tried to skip carb and eat healthier and asked if I can have veggie as replacement. The waitress was flexible and agreed to change it without extra charge. Food came fast. My soup was delicious, although the replaced bean sprouts were scanty. Can't ask for more when they were nice enough to modify for you. Basil chicken and yellow curry chicken were both tasty. Yet the papaya salad was unbearably sour and tasted terrible, it also had fishy smell. I've never had papaya salad this bad. The recipe was a disaster. Service was very nice. Staff was polite and attentive. Would probably come back to try other dishes.
Good authentic Thai food. Friendly staff. Nice ambience. A bit pricey but well worth the tasty fare they serve. Some tables offer great view of the street and you watch the world stroll by.
Had a lovely dinner at Vaso Azzurro! The Chicken Alfredo Pasta was creamy, rich, and perfectly cooked, with tender chicken and a well-balanced sauce. The Pesto Gnocchi was another highlight—light, pillowy gnocchi coated in a flavorful pesto sauce. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed evening. Service was warm and attentive, though the food took a little longer than expected. That said, the quality made up for it! Overall, a great Italian dining experience. Would definitely come back to try more dishes!
Had a team dinner here and they were able to accommodate a same day reservation for a group of 9 people. We weren’t able to get a table inside since they had another big party but the weather was so nice out that we all enjoyed eating outside on the patio. We ordered a few apps to share. My favorite was the calamari. Their focaccia bread was soft and delicious. I got the chicken parm which was pretty mediocre but coworker seemed to enjoy their pasta dishes.
Good authentic food mostly, curry etc a bit over seasoned . Also note that extra sauce for ROTI seems like an extra charge of $7. Also the bill was given to me without showing the specific price for each item. Just wishing more honesty on this. The point is mostly deducted for this.
Food lacked flavor. Chicken satay and papaya salad was good. Fresh rolls and crab fried rice were average at best. Pranag chicken curry was the worst. Had big chunks of chicken with two three pieces of bell pepper. Curry was tasteless and whole dish looked unappetizing. Won’t be visiting again
Unfortunately service fell far short of even decent. Both waiters were rude and short with a 10+ minute delay to take our order and 30+ minutes to receive food. Drink refills were nonexistent. When it came time to pay the bill, we were told when we were given the check that the bill could only be split two ways. There were 6 of us that sat down and we informed the waiter we would all be separate checks and there was nothing said. We paid via handheld PoS system which could easily separate the checks. I understand it takes a few more minutes of the waiter’s time to split the checks, but that is compensated by mandatory pay and optional tips. On the positive side, the food was fantastic, with great taste and really solid portions. This unfortunately does not overcome the service issues. With all the other options in Mountain View, I would look elsewhere.
My spouse and I had came in for dinner but was quickly greeted with rude and racist comments after asking to be seated in the outside patio. We even told them to not grab a propane tank to save them some work. One of the workers that was sat in the bar suddenly made a comment calling us "eskimos" for wanting to sit in the cold and we're Asian. A third worker came to us (I guess due to a lack of communication) trying to help us and we informed him that we're being seated outside. He asked why and I responded saying that it's a loud environment inside. They acted as if they were going out of their way to earn our business because we wanted to be seated outside. As a former food service worker, I am appalled by such disrespectful and unprofessional behavior. This establishment is in need of reevaluating their "hospitality." Food service workers? No. Garbage jokes. We left after they set up our table. I hope they enjoyed wasting their time in the cold and losing business. Fortunately, there's another Italian restaurant very close called Don Giovanni. The service at Don Giovanni was excellent. They have a peaceful atmosphere, delicious food, and their hospitality was nothing short of respectable. I don't care to know if Vaso has good food since they were bitter before we sat down.
