I usually go to this Thai food for lunch once a week, this is the first time for dinner. The outside seating was all full, so we took the inside table and ordered the favorite dishes of Green Curry Chicken, Musamun Beef, and Chili with Green Beams and Tofu along with jasmine rice. Singha is a must for dinner at a Thai restaurant 😎🍺 Cheers!
I have tried couple of their dishes in the past and every time I visit them I order their pratha which is so flaky and crispy like a croissant but in the form of a roti. Their mango salad, papaya salad and larb (I ordered it with chicken) have very refreshing flavors. For main course, I usually go with spicy red curry paste fried chicken and basil fried rice. You can’t go wrong with any dish they serve! Note: Their spicy is medium-spicy for Indian palates.
We sat outside last Saturday evening about 6pm. There was excellent people watching from where we were in front of the restaurant in Castro Street. The servers all wore masks which was appreciated and the food was delicious! We ordered the chicken fresh spring rolls which were some of the best that I’ve ever had. We also ordered chicken satay, super green curry, and mango salad with tofu. My only complaint is we ordered extra tofu for the salad but it didn’t look like any more than normal. Next time we’ll just order the fried tofu as a separate dish. By the time we were finishing up there was quite a line waiting for food and inside it looked like the restaurant was full. I’m happy that this restaurant and all the ones on Castro Street seem to be making a come back after the pandemic hard times. It’s so wonderful that Castro Street is closed to traffic it really feels like a European vibe there.
We order take out once a week from this place, always satisfied with quality of food. My favorite- spicy eggplant with tofu, super green curry and chicken pad Thai.
We always try Thai food for its smoky fried rice, and if you are also looking for one, I would definitely recommend this. Best Thai food in San Jose.
Absolutely delicious food - 10/10! Just two people- We ordered the noodle soup dish which I think is called the Tom Kha and it was incredible! The spring rolls were also yummy. Service was a little slow as the appetizer came much after the main but kudos to them for letting us in at 8:30pm when they close at 9pm.
My family loves Thai food. Thats the only non-Indian cuisine where chances, of getting vegetarian options that are flavorful, are higher. Amarin is one of my favorite places. This is the first time we were eating at this location (there is another Amarin across the road from this one on Castro). As publicized, this is more street food version. Khoa Soi is my favorite. Curry and noodles were good too. Can only say about the vegetarian entrees, they were all good. Service was very slow. When we went there was only ond person taking orders and serving. It took a long time to give the order but after that food came pretty quickly. Has both indoor & outdoor seating. Right on Castro Mtn view downtown. No parking available outside the restaurant. Have to park in one of the cross streets and walk here.
Absolute best Thai food you will find, outside of Thailand itself. Chicken curry so good you wanna cry. Authentic curries and spices. Seriously, I’ve had Thai food all over California and this is the best there is, even better than the Michelin starred places in SF by light years. I could go on. Their chicken is so tender it just falls apart. I asked for the yellow curry as spicy as possible. Holy crow, was that a one way ticket to Dante’s Inferno in the best way possible. I’ve even ordered it for delivery, still just as good. Anyways, wizards and magicians working here. Kudos on a job well done.
Amazing meal! We got takeout and we loved every single dish! The roti was absolutely delicious, not greasy. The green curry was so good. We also got the pumpkin curry, the spicy green beans, pad thai, and the mango special. Everything was delicious. Our favorite was dessert, mango with sticky rice. Service was excellent too! Highly recommend.
My experience here was more than good. No problems with service when my husband and I were nearby craving for Thai food. Red curry with chicken I ordered was so flavorful and rich! Eggplants made it even more delicate. My husband had super green curry and also was happy with his choice. I really liked the atmosphere of this place. Nice wooden furniture, peaceful music, dimmed light and nice tableware put it on a level higher than a lot of Thai restaurants in the area. Definitely recommend this place and gonna come back occasionally.
There are few places which i want to go back over and over whenever i am in the area. Amarin is one of them. Their roti' is out of this world, and many other items on the menu definitely worth to try. After about 6th round, it's time for a review, isn't it? After a usual start of roti's tried their coconut soup this time, and the chicken. Neither disappointed. After pandemic i could see a big uptick in the crowd , and once again enjoyed the atmosphere and décor.
We appreciated getting seated and having great food even though we arrived within about 30 minutes of closing time. The suggested chicken curry with papaya salad was great and the mussaman curry was also very nice. I was happy there were meal options available at this location so you got rice included in the price. The server checked in with us frequently and also made sure to see if we wanted dessert before the kitchen closed. The mango sticky rice was delicious, so I'm glad she checked!
We love their food and come often. Their service is very good! Speed of getting food ready is also good. Their sticky mango rice dessert is very good, sweet and ripe mangos. Still many dishes to try!
This actually turns out better than we expected! Guess it's not yet broadly shared on xiaohongshu but already got full house on a Friday evening. Food has 锅气 which is very authentic. Rotti with peanut sauce, papaya salad, spicy basil with ground pork all are very good. Their mild spicy level is probably medium in other American-Thai restaurant, authentic in its way. Prices are reasonable, we got more than we could finish.
While visiting Castro Street we decided to try this Thai restaurant and were very pleased with the quality and taste of the food, the service and the environment. The Mango salad with crispy tofu was exquisite. The spicy eggplant stir fry with prawn was also amazing. We paired it with steamed brown rice and after our first few bites decided we will definitely be back to try other dishes.
The owner was very nice and generous. The food was really good and the service was fast.
Everyone in our group loved their food. I recommend their curry dishes (Mussaman & yellow curry), spring rolls, ginger tea, and roti with cashew sauce appetizer.
We visited this place for team lunch. Great Thai place with excellent food! I loved the authenticity of the food and their service was great and friendly! Great vegetarian options too! Deserts were okayish! Worth a try!
One of the best Thai restaurants I have been. Hot Tom yum soup was made of shrimp, mushrooms and tomatoes and it was very sour. Hoa Mok Fish was tasty and the spice level was pretty good.

Very nice Thai restaurant. We enjoyed large coconut seafood soup and springs rolls and also Sinhga beer. Everything was fresh and tasty.
Best Thai food experience in Mountain View/Palo Alto. Our months- long search is over. We had chicken satay, soft tofu fresh rolls, and spicy basil tofu fried rice. All really good. Great service, airy, on a busy fun closed street. We will be back!
10/10 experience and food. I used to come to Amarin a lot when I lived nearby. I have not been back in a long time but was able to stop by the new location. I am so grateful that I was able to come back and have the mango cashew chicken & thai tea. Everything was delicious, just like I remembered. The service was great and everyone who helped me was so kind. I will be back when I am in the area again!

Amongst all the joints, this place felt alive and the reason for picking it. We were not disappointed. IPA was delicious and fresh. Rice paper wrapped veggies & tofu was a good starter. Food was excellent. Loved the eggplant main course with a serving of jasmine rise. There are Indian dishes on the menu to keep it interesting. Rotis and samosa for example. Place was busy for a Monday. Good service by our host.
Nice flavored, Authentic Thai Cuisine. (+) Just enough coconut milk balanced n mixed with slightly acidic curry spices to incite your tasting palate and open up your appetite. (-) Some dishes however are a bit too sweet or overpowering. (-) Most dishes come in “small” amounts, in the $20s n don’t come with rice. You MUST order Rice because Rice goes BEST with curry! (-) Dish portions can be larger to satisfy most diners appetites n satisfactions
Trying this place after 10 years. The quality has gone down compared to our last experience. The spring roll was good but the sauce could have been better. It was too salty that it overwhelmed other tastes. Pineapple fried rice was good you can’t go wrong with it. Green curry was delicious. I think this was the only place that I could find spicy Thai curry. Overall, good meal, but kinda overpriced.
We have eaten here for years and this is the first time at the new location. This place is half the size of the old location that was across the street. The food is still very good. Mango cashew chicken is a family favorite. Service has room for improvement. They dropped stacks of plates on the center of our table and had us place them, dropped 4 glasses and left at the side of the table, and brought the wrong appetizer by accident, We will still return and hope service is better next time.
The food was delicious I enjoyed the green curry I ordered and the pan-fried noodles. Service: The server was also really attentive to our friends’ nut allergy so I appreciated how they went back to check if the dishes were nut-free. The service can be slow also. We waited a while for our food and they almost missed the last dish we ordered, so expect to wait after you order. Restaurant: The restaurant has plenty of seatings. They have Thai decorations on the wall which is nice to see. It also looks like they have the tables where you sit on the floor, but those were closed when we came. Parking: Parking around downtown Mountain View’s not bad. We just parked in one of the lots nearby.
The food was really delicious but I am giving four stars because they gave us small dish and it was hard for us to eat in small dish. Apart from this the overall quality of food was awesome and the service was also good. Along with it they also helped us by keeping the cake in refrigerator as went to celebrate one of friends birthday. Fried rice , spring roll, pranthey and chutney and special salad was too good but the quantity was less as per price. I am definitely going there again!!
A great Thai place to eat with friends! The Tom ka soup is pretty good! I ordered with seafood. Curry is a bit salty but I guess you need to eat it with lots of rices, crab fried rice is my favorite! I had it twice but first time is better than second I guess. Still enjoyable
Came for lunch. Tried to skip carb and eat healthier and asked if I can have veggie as replacement. The waitress was flexible and agreed to change it without extra charge. Food came fast. My soup was delicious, although the replaced bean sprouts were scanty. Can't ask for more when they were nice enough to modify for you. Basil chicken and yellow curry chicken were both tasty. Yet the papaya salad was unbearably sour and tasted terrible, it also had fishy smell. I've never had papaya salad this bad. The recipe was a disaster. Service was very nice. Staff was polite and attentive. Would probably come back to try other dishes.
Good authentic Thai food. Friendly staff. Nice ambience. A bit pricey but well worth the tasty fare they serve. Some tables offer great view of the street and you watch the world stroll by.

Great service, ok food, small portions. Food is nothing out of the world. Menu has a lot of classic Thai dishes. Tasted ok, definitely not worth the price. The servers were great though and checked in often. There are better Thai spots out there, but it's not bad if you're craving something on Castro
The ambience is pretty good because of the outdoor seating and Mountain View downtown and the lights. But I didn’t find the food worth the buck. The fresh spring rolls weren’t that great. The tofu and the veggies were not holding up and with one bite everything fell apart. Basil friend rice was pretty good. Pad kee mao was okay.
The food is okay. Not the best Thai food I've ever had, but the staff is very friendly. Definitely one of the highlights for me and my team. The food came out pretty quick but there was a ten minute delay almost from the first dish coming out to the last. The pad Thai (very basic I know) wasn't special, but hey I still ate it all. Not a place I'd especially recommend to friends as a must try but worth a try if you're on Castro street and want some food.
Food is standard tasty… quantity is sufficient as well… the Thai Curry’s don’t come with rice and are comparatively thicker than other Thai joints, the Chicken Satay has a hint of tandoori flavor to it which makes it a bit unique in taste, the Tom Yum soup is very light in flavor and a lot can be improved in the taste… whatever said the cost is extremely high for a restaurant of this standard…literally shocked seeing the receipt!

Good authentic food mostly, curry etc a bit over seasoned . Also note that extra sauce for ROTI seems like an extra charge of $7. Also the bill was given to me without showing the specific price for each item. Just wishing more honesty on this. The point is mostly deducted for this.

Food lacked flavor. Chicken satay and papaya salad was good. Fresh rolls and crab fried rice were average at best. Pranag chicken curry was the worst. Had big chunks of chicken with two three pieces of bell pepper. Curry was tasteless and whole dish looked unappetizing. Won’t be visiting again
Unfortunately service fell far short of even decent. Both waiters were rude and short with a 10+ minute delay to take our order and 30+ minutes to receive food. Drink refills were nonexistent. When it came time to pay the bill, we were told when we were given the check that the bill could only be split two ways. There were 6 of us that sat down and we informed the waiter we would all be separate checks and there was nothing said. We paid via handheld PoS system which could easily separate the checks. I understand it takes a few more minutes of the waiter’s time to split the checks, but that is compensated by mandatory pay and optional tips. On the positive side, the food was fantastic, with great taste and really solid portions. This unfortunately does not overcome the service issues. With all the other options in Mountain View, I would look elsewhere.

Nancy and the other ladies here are liars. they kept saying my order was done but my driver showed me a picture of the empty restaurant. on top of all this they missed our coconut soup. then a lady called me stating "I refunded it on our tablet" but then Nancy told me "no we can't refund it thru our tablet"
We had a bad experience. They refused to remove chicken for my mom and insisted on charging her an extra $4 for tofu…anyways we go to pay and they charged us 18% gratuity (we didn’t know). To my surprise they were asking for tip on top of tip and I only noticed because the total jumped by $30 and I was confused. When I asked if tip was already included they said it was so I wanted to understand why the total jumped by $30. Anyways tip was included and he refused to let me adjust it even though we were unhappy with the service.
