1808 Grille

Best option for a quiet, non-bustling bar in a 4-5 block radius, from my first time in the area. Decent selection of beers and cocktails, and pleasant staff. We never ordered actual dinner, but we did have three items off of the appetizer or bar food menu. I would suggest finding elsewhere to have appetizers and sincerely hope that entrées are better than the apps. As I said, the 1808 is a quiet, quality place to loiter. Approach the appetizers cautiously, because you may be very disappointed. We will return the next time that we visit Nashville and enjoy the visit.

We arrived at 7;30 pm, and were seated fairly promply. Water was poured for the 4 people quickly. We did not see our server for about 10 minutes, when he brought the menus. We ordered cocktails at this time. We waited over 15 minutes for our order. When he finally arrived with the drinks, and we expressed our disappointment, he said that the bar was "crowded". This set the tone for a forgettable evening of poor service. There is a healthy supply of quality competition in good local restaurants, and this one doen't compare.

Rock solid restaurant in the Hutton hotel. Cool, comfortable venue. Go to spot in midtown for brunch. Very rarely as crowded as many other brunch spots downtown and midtown. That said, service can be really really slow, strange considering the restaurant is usually 1/2 full during brunch hours.

Food is good, but not worth the price. The staff was friendly and attentive, but we were the only people in the restaurant on a Saturday night, so take that for what it is. The restaurant is beautiful, but the overall experience was disappointing. It's a real shame, because we have enjoyed everything else about staying in the Hutton Hotel.

Very basic service and the brunch was mediocre.

I had appetizers that were nothing special. I then had a fish that was greatly cooked but with on top a cream that nothing had to do with it. Last was an espresso. Quite disgusting. The atmosphere and the interiors are good. But for what you pay you would expect much more.

My husband bought me here on our anniversary for brunch. The hostess was friendly to a degree seeing that she was more interested in getting back to Candy Crush, which I completely understood. We were seated, a waiter came by, poured us some water, and took our drink order. When he returned with our drinks he informed us that he wasn't our waiter and had to get back to his section. He came back 10 mins later and noticed that we hadn't been waited on so he got us another round of mimosas and our waiter. By that time were ready to order. We didn't see our actual waiter again until we got our check. The other guy served us the whole time so we tipped him. Btw, the food was ok at best and I would've had better service and food at IHOP. I'll likely never return to this place.

Bad

Was really looking forward to this Thanksgiving meal, and it was such an ordinary meal and highly over priced. The service was good, but the meal dId not deserve it's $59.99 per person price tag. The presentation was unattractive, and the taste was so-so. The gratuity was added in when the bill arrived, and we only had 3 in our party. I will definitely not recommend this restaurant to others visiting the great city of Nashville. Instead, if you are going to spend the money, you'll get more flavor, better presentation, and super quality service at the Capitol Grill. Have booked my "after Nashville Ballet's Nutcracker performance " there instead. The one star was for the service.

Didn't even get to order, staff was disrespectful of my dining partner's disability and accused him of being drunk, and refused us service. It was insulting and humiliating. He has a brain injury and just wanted crab cakes from the bar menu. As a professional chef, it's always sad to see a restaurant put it's needs above it's diners, and to assume the worse of a diner with only second hand information. 1808 has left the worse taste in my mouth, and wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone for any reason, spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere. I have reported this incident to the ADA through the Department of Justice.
