TLDR; Upscale wine + tapas bar with casual service and immersive atmosphere. I struggle to find the words to describe how I feel about this place. The wine selections are intentional and unique, the tapas are light and addicting, the atmosphere is inviting and warm yet elegant and demanding of your respect. A truly top-tier effort by the staff to put on a fantastic service for the guests tonight and it did not go unnoticed. If you are someone looking for a special night with a friend or loved one, or just a local wanting somewhere to enjoy the finer aspects of the Hill Country bar scene, this is the place for you

I would truly give this place 10 stars if I could. Such an intentional menu, space, and team of individuals. I’ve already been a few times since their grand opening and cannot wait to come back countless times again. Favorite Neighbor is a labor of love and it shows!

Went to Favorite Neighbor’s brunch tasting today and it was amazing! Every dish was packed with flavor, made completely from scratch, and you can truly taste the love that goes into the food. The atmosphere is so cool, vibrant, and welcoming, I can’t wait to come back with my family!

I’ve been excited to try this new restaurant in New Braunfels for a while, and it was the perfect place for my intimate birthday dinner! We tried almost everything on the menu, and were very happy and impressed with the entire experience start to finish. We’ve been begging for this type of space in New Braunfels for a while, and I’m so glad it’s finally here! Can’t wait to go back and get more of the fresh focaccia bread and that amazing butter. I should have taken more photos of the food, but we were truly enjoying ourselves too much!

This place stole my heart. It’s absolutely perfect. Seriously. Everything was I N C R E D I B L E. We had a sparkling red wine, pickled veg, the best castelvantrono olives ever, hummus, bread, potatoes, halloumi, radish, cesar salad, and the tiramisu. I will be dreaming about this spot until we go back.

Love this place so much. It’s cute and simple, but has all the vibes. Too many times during the week, I want to sit and drink wine, and eat all the bread. The hummus is to die for and the Caesar salad is *chef’s kiss*. Sooo good!

I'm officially obsessed with Favorite Neighbor! The House-baked Focaccia Service paired with the Crudité was a dreamy start. So fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. The Garlic Shrimp, Patatas Bravas, and Beef Meatballs were absolutely phenomenal. Each dish is bursting with bold, comforting flavor. The space itself is beautifully designed and effortlessly stylish, and the counter-service ordering gives it a casual yet sophisticated vibe. This European-inspired gem in New Braunfels is truly one to savor. I can’t wait to come back and try more!

Deconstructed design, not fussy, but elevated food and wine experience. So excited I could walk here. It is an old gas station! Porch is hot before sun sets but whatever, it’s texas. Inside is packed and buzzy. I am a new fan! I only post reviews if I am impressed, I try not to give negative reviews because who knows- someone could have just had a bad day. That being said- I am adding this to my list of 5 stars. I am blessed to have such wonderful experiences and look forward to more more more!

Everyone’s favorite neighbor, indeed!! We brought a small group out as a team celebration and had the best time. Exceptional wine list with varieties everyone knows and loves plus unique ones that are harder to find like Alvarinho and Schiava. We had just about one of everything, it was hard to pick a favorite. Super relaxed environment, hospitable staff, we’ll be back! Congrats, yall!

As a big wine girly, I had to check this place out since it just opened. I noticed people ordering tapas, and they all looked amazing. We ordered two spritzes and olives, which were quite lovely. We came on a Friday night (6-7pm ish) and it was pretty packed. As a big ambiance person, this place checked all the boxes. I can’t wait to come back during the weekends and try out their tapas and wine! I’m very impressed to see NB growing globally. 😊

I haven’t had the chance to try any food yet, but the atmosphere at this place was incredible and the drink selection was great. I truly felt transported to a different place. Felt like I was having a spritz somewhere in Italy or Spain. Really looking forward to coming back here again and again.

This place is a hidden gem. Not much to look at on the outside (converted gas station), but the tapas are fantastic (you have to try the tuna carpaccio or the seared halloumi). Had a great Chilean wine too. Service was very good and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Having traveled in Spain and other European countries, I can honestly say that Favorite Neighbor does an outstanding job replicating the authentic feel of a traditional tapas bar. It’s refreshing to find a place that truly captures that essence.

So nice, helpful with perfect wine and food recommendations. The food is amazing. We came for the opulent New Years Eve party and will now be regulars! This is the place to go!

We travel often and have been lucky to eat at some highly pedigreed spots, and this one still ranks among our favorites. The focaccia alone would bring me back, but it just keeps getting better as the food rolls out. Hands down the best castelvetrano olives this side of the Mediterranean. We have a standing rule now to bring our family here when anyone visits.

It’s refreshing to find a place that truly captures that essence.

Food was amazing. Staff was friendly. But boy is their communications with their clientele and amongst staff poor. Supposedly sitting inside and outside have two different ordering protocols – still unclear to me. We ordered at the counter and paid directly – including tip. We also left a little extra tip at the table. Then when we were leaving was flagged that we didn’t pay. I said we already paid and showed my Amex notification. They still went ahead and checked the system and said it didn’t go through. They called the owner who said it also “didn’t go through”. Reality is it was (assumingely) processing as this is how credit cards work – takes 2-3 days to settle. Note: if the payment didn’t go through my credit card would have declined on the spot at the counter. Then I was asked to swipe my card again and told to call them if it gets doubled book. So now I have to wait for my credit card payments to settle and then have to proactively call them. Sort of ruined the whole vibe.
