Walked in to this hidden gem deli in new paltz food is 10/10 definitely will be back

Friendly staff, open when all else is closed... And they actually sell creamer. Most of the gas stations stopped carrying it smh! thanks convenient!

This Deli certainly changed a lot! The staff is very friendly and with the renovations finished the place has certainly changed! There is a new positive vibe with the amazing workers vibe. I used to go in their before renovations, it certainly changed.

This place is so great. For the longest time living in New Paltz, we’ve been dying for good halal food, and now we have it! Everything I’ve tried here is 10/10. The service is really quick and everything is super affordable. Haven’t tried anything here that I didn’t like.

Finally a real deli in the area. The service is quick, the food is delicious, the store is clean and spacious, and the staff is friendly. The menu has many choices and the prices are reasonable. We have been back several times especially for breakfast sandwiches.

Just came in here and realized the changes. At first, I was a little upset that yet another place in this area has changed, but realized wait this is for the better! This is authentic ny deli style. I am finally relieved that after many searches, and a lot of wasted money, I finally found the deli who has the best Mac salad. The REAL kind. Not miracle whip. This Mac salad is so good and I am finally happy I found a place in this area that makes it like home. Also, the clerk gave my daughter some free candy. It was a nice gesture for sure. Will be back for more! Ate it too fast

Spacious Deli with delicious food. There are tables for eating indoors and there's a big selection of prepared food and snacks. From bagels, to desserts, chips, candies, drinks etc. Kaleo (sorry, not sure about the spelling) is the owner and works behind the counter, he was friendly, polite and full of energy. You really can't go wrong with this Deli for a quick snack, breakfast lunch etc.

Despite many changes of ownership, the food is still reliable deli favorites here—and thankfully the current owners don't keep the music up to a deafening volume like the previous ones did. I avoided this place back then, simply because I couldn't hear well enough to order or have a conversation. Counter person did seem to get annoyed the one time I wandered around and picked out snacks while my sandwich was being made, asking, "is that all NOW?" I have been doing that to 20 years, but it's fine. I thought about docking a star, until I realized that this attitude is keeping my tendency to shop impulsively in line. I'm saving money

We had a party of 30 people , ordered 4 foot sub… 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Turkey and cheese… very hardy and yummy… one piece left! Recommend this great hospitality place … owners were super nice and treated my husband with respect! Great business. Make them grow… they deserve it !

I had the halal chicken over rice, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and cooked just right, with so much flavor in every bite. The rice was fragrant and well-spiced, pairing perfectly with the chicken. The sauces really brought everything together—the creamy white sauce and the touch of heat from the hot sauce were the perfect balance. Portions were generous, fresh, and incredibly satisfying. This is hands down one of the best halal meals I’ve had, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more.

I ate the entire thing in my car and it was by far the BEST sandwich I have had in a very long time. I never do this but I went back in after and let them know it was incredible. The guys are awesome in there, very nice and just overall phenomenal place to get food. I encourage everyone to try their food. It is fantastic!

The sit-down area is a bit gritty so are the bathrooms but the new owners seem very warm and responsive

Update to the review below: I have returned several times to this deli deli my previous 2-star review as it is very close to my job. I learned to call ahead with my order, and they always say it will take 15 mins. However when calling ahead the good has always been ready for pickup and I have never had to wait in line since. Also, yes there is always music, but it's not always loud and not always club music. I don't think I've had to shout since that one day in my previous review. The veggie breakfast burrito has been my regular order because it's a healthy choice and tastes good even though it's not spicy. It's big enough that I can eat half for breakfast and half for lunch. I also like their kale salad. They def massage their kale like everyone ought to. 😊 Staff is always friendly and I have noticed them getting returning customers by name. Original review: Writing this so that hopefully things change. Just took 15 mins to buy a cup of coffee. The other day it took 30 mins to get a breakfast burrito. Why so long? Because people who are ordering food and people who are paying have to wait in the same line. If you order food, you have to wait on line to order and then wait on line a second time to pay. Plus, the cashier was busy making food with her back to the register. It is anything but convenient. It would be far better to take food orders at the deli counter like they used to before new management, or at least order and pay at the same time so that you don't have to wait on line twice. Maybe have a waiting area for food because it's always a cluster of people standing around near the register and you have to ask people if they are in line or just waiting for their food. Be prepared for there to be loud club music playing even first thing in the morning (why???). Loud enough that you have to speak up when ordering. The lemon poppy seed muffin was honestly terrible. Tasted like Bisquick and lemon Pledge. It had no ingredients list or label of any kind. The breakfast burrito was okay, mediocre but fine, what you might expect from a small town deli like this. I recommend to add something spicy to it (pepper jack, hot sauce, jalapenos or something) because it's more of a breakfast wrap than a burrito. Overall I hope you have a better experience than I did.

Sandwiches are rly good but staff is super slow. I order sandwiches to go and they say 20 mins but I’m still waiting 10-20 mins after they say they’ll be ready.

I’ve stopped here only once but the chicken BLT and turkey sandwich I ordered were delicious. The service was a little odd and unprofessional. Most of the staff were just laughing and goofing off behind the counter. The lady who made my sandwiches was very sweet and obviously knows what she’s doing. The interior is dated and bare bones. Just a sandwich shop with drinks & basic convenience store merchandise.

After coming to the new convenient deli 3-4 times now I feel that I've gotten enough of an idea of how this place is run. Not well. 3 out of the 4 times I've gone there my order has been wrong. Really disappointing.

Very slow service to get a sandwich when called in ahead of time, still had to wait 10 minutes when i got there, and place was not busy, breakfast sandwich can tell not high-quality bacon, very expensive for poor quality meat. Rather go to on the roll deli.

First off this wrap shouldn't have roasted peppers on it and there just isn't cheese. It feels like they randomly put your order together each time I order food. Ask for cheddar they put American, ask for butter they don't add butter, ask for a chicken and cheese quesadilla and they give you an onion, pepper, and olive quesadilla that isn't even cooked. I literally have no idea how they're still open or why I keep buying sandwiches from them. They literally can't make sandwiches. Sometimes the chicken cutlets are paper thin and burnt. Sometimes the chicken cutlets are moist and juicy. Who knows what it'll be this week? I'm just so done with this place.

I used to go here in highschool but it seems like in the 4 years since it has gone downhill. The owner always left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and apparently she’s abusive to the employees! Never give this woman your money. It’s disgusting here now.

This place is pretty god awful. Imagine a price of any normal deli item you would purchase, now DOUBLE that price! Welcome to “Convenient” Deli!!! I have given way too much of my money to this place over the years for what this place is. Most of their staff is extremely generous (besides the boss), but unfortunately that does not make up for their poorly microwaved sandwiches and absurd prices for normal items like drinks or snacks. For some reason this place is considered a staple in New Paltz, but please do not give this place money and spend it on actual good food and a good experience.

When I pointed this out, the unfriendly response was “I am not the owner, we are provided with the chicken cutlets (i.e. they don’t make them and you only get one that doesn’t cover the roll), and if you haven’t noticed, the price of chicken has gone up.” Okey doke. Noted.

Ordered a Stake and Jack sandwich and instead got a meat and cheese sandwich. Not what I ordered. The sandwich is actually missing more ingredients than it has, and I had to pay full price. Awful Edit: they've now stopped microwaving your food as if it was too difficult to do. I will never return here even for a pack of gum

They got a C on their last health inspection, the lowest score possible, not to mention that the owner is a verbally abusive pos. The most unsanitary place you could possibly go for an egg sandwich and an iced coffee. I worked here once for three weeks and banished it from my memory because it was so disgusting, but a friend of mine recently shared his experience on social media (with photos!) so I'm taking the liberty of posting them here because everyone should see them. The owner of this establishment is rude, angry, impatient, and intimidating. The workers do not care how your food is made. Nobody wears gloves when handling your food. My friend fell asleep in the place and they called the cops. This deli is run by an unprofessional, disrespectful and childish crew. Absolutely never eating here again and you shouldn't either.

New owners discriminate against homeless people. They weren't even nice about it. I hope they are proud of themselves for send a 75 year old man out into the NINE DEGREE weather!

As someone who grew up in this town, this hurts to see. So Tuesday my girlfriend DoorDashed a sandwich , roast beef on a roll Swiss LTOM, and upon arrival it turns out they made it with pastrami. She proceeded to call and let them know, but ate the sandwich anyways. Last night (the following day) I was walking by and decided to pick up the same sandwich and what do you know? Still putting pastrami instead of roast beef. Came in and ordered with the OWNER and extremely disappointed. If you don’t know what deli meat is what and don’t care to fix things when brought to your attention, give it up. Place has been downhill for years but new management HASNT MADE IT BETTER. WILL NOOOOT BE ORDERING FOOD AGAIN. WASTE OF MONEY

I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a roll with mayo and I never knew you could mess up this sandwhich, it came out to $8 compared to the $5 I spend for a better sandwhich in the city. It was very bland, with little to no bacon, didn’t toast the bread at all and left me with a stomach ache. I remember purchasing this same sandwhich from this deli not too long ago for about $6 and better quality so I’m not sure what happened but I’ll never be ordering again.
