I went with my boyfriend and the food was amazing. We went a little late but they still sat us down and gave us good service. I usually don't eat white rice from other places besides my mom's but their white rice is well seasoned and not bland.

Haven't been here since Covid hit us hard in New Rochelle in March. Going back, I was happy to see the protocols they have in place to keep customers safe. They sprayed down the menus after we used it and had sanitizer at the door for us to use before entering. All the tables are spaced out appropriately with an X on tables that should not be used. The servers were friendly and the food was amazing. Looking forward to returning.

I WILL DEFINITELY RETURN! I was very pleased with the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The highlight is the guacamole and how the waiter makes it at the table right in front of you. I had the steak fajitas and it was delicious. I didn’t order a drink but the presentation of the drinks looked amazing. I’m not local to New Rochelle, but it was very much worth the trip from The Bronx. Prices were also reasonable.

Another place I've been to hundreds of times over the years. The staff have always been incredibly friendly and love to share their amazing food with customers. If it's your birthday, they will usually provide a free scoop of fried ice cream on a big plate to share with your company. Their alcoholic beverages are generous in terms of alcohol percentage. Food provided on plates is also incredibly generous and delicious. I usually go for one of their burritos which are good for 2 full meals honestly. 10/10 place for dinner.

Little gem of a restaurant. Walking in is like entering a cozy cave. It's small but doesn't feel crowded. It can fill up quickly but is worth a wait. All of the food is fresh and expertly made. The cocktails are delicious. The entire menu is reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I'm so glad this neighborhood favorite survived the pandemic.

Today I ordered 5 chicken tamales and they were delicious! Heads up- the tamales are prepared with cheese and green sauce which is not spicy at all very delicious! I highly recommend it! I will be back soon. Thank you Herradura!

We found this place on Father's day and let me say that it is awesome. When we fist looked at the menu we saw it had a wide range of dishes including some not from mexico, so we were skeptical but once we ordered and got our food we were astonished at how good it actually was. The food is full of authentic flavor. My wife, kids and friends love the place everything we've ordered was delicious. They might need to staff better though, it was hard order drinks due to the fact that there wasn't enough waiters but overall the food is fantastic 100% recommend.

Amazing place! Went with my husband to enjoy a great birthday dinner. Food was plentiful and delicious. Drinks were well priced. The staff was hardworking, attentive and welcoming. Even came out with somebraros and mini dessert with candles for my husband and his friends. All and all a wonderful experience . Definitely my new little spot to dine.

Very local feeling place and the food was so good. I honestly cannot complain about anything. The guacamole was really good and the tacos. The soups are great and big. Parking could be a bit difficult in the area but if you are in the mood for Mexican it's worth it. The staff was very nice.

We were seated right away which was surprising since Thanksgiving is tomorrow. They have a variety of items to choose from. I really enjoyed the spicy salsa with my chips. You got to try the steak tacos and fresh made guacamole! Everyone mentioned how good their food tasted so if you’re in the area you got to try this restaurant. #bucketlist

The staff of this restaurant is on a mission and the mission is to put out some of the most delicious meals, drinks, & desserts paired with exceptional waiting service. Everyone should try their Pinã Colada it is something else one of a kind. The table side making and serving of Guacamole & chips and the rum infused fried ice cream is a treat to watch and a moment to savor while having them. The staff also treats the kids well with free items and for the individuals who have their birthdays either get a discount or a cake and surely a birthday song for the whole restaurant to participate. The ambience is very old school village oriented south American style which is good as we get to see a glimpse of their culture. There's plenty of street parking available. I have always gone with my friends and colleagues for late night dinners, happy hours, and corporate meals and this place never ceases to to amaze me with their consistency, it is sad that now I have moved upstate and rarely go there, but whenever I get chance my wife and I will surely go there!

Authentic Mexican cuisine with attentive staff, delicious food, and great portions. Interior decor adds to the authentic feel. The Parrillada Mexicana is amazing! It can feed 2-3 people and has a little bit of everything: steak, chicken, chorizo, pork, tamal, rice, refried beans, tortillas, etc. Also, it’s only $35! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Good food, took a little time but worth waiting for. Only thing I didn't appreciate was I asked for a menu and was told we no longer have menus please scan the code which I'm fine with, then a party came and sat at the table next to me and we're all given regular menus.

Back again this weekend, so good. Ask for all 3 salsas with your chips. The green is spicy but delicious, middle red a bit smokey and then the traditional salsa. Restaurant is clean and comfortable. Service and food are delicious as well. The beans and rice on Como plates are homemade.

My husband loves Tacos a la Birria and the first time he tried this fav meal he loved it! Said the consume that comes with the tacos had a hint of cinnamon and it was oddly something that enhanced the flavors. Second time there it was ok. I always play it save and get quesadilla or carnita tacos.. those were good.

But the food was as close to mexican as I could find over here, and I am from South texas, and I know what mexican food should taste like. I have eaten at all the fancy and hole in the wall places searching since this is my new home up here in the northern east of the United States. I will be coming back, that's for sure. Best mexican food here. I approve this message..lol

Great frozen margaritas with the perfect amount of tequila! I wasn't a fan of the guacamole, but the rest of the food was good. They make the guacamole to order at your table so the guy could've just messed up our order. They have an extensive menu. My table had a bunch of different entrees and they were all very good. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It's very beautifully decorated. I will definitely be back.

Food was fantastic, portions are huge! Margaritas are great, and the interior welcomes you into the rustic comfort of Mexican eateries! We were a large group, so waiting time might have been a little too long for comfort!

La Herradura = 🐴 👟 Eat like a horse at La Herradura. Come here with a good appetite. Because what you order from the menu you get a solid meal. Such as this Carne molido con Queso y Arroz amarillo Burrito I ordered. The mojito 🍸drinks are nicely presented. The drink pictured is coconut mojito. The place has a nice Mexican touch to it.

Food taste great. Service is average. What's not great is that they want to charge you if you request extra chips for the sauce, and that's ridiculous. They only put our a hand full for a 3 person table which runs out after we each have 2 chips. There are no other restaurants charging for extra nacho chips. We stopped going there because it's about principal. We decided to go back, and they are still charging if you ask for one more round of chips.

Food was okay but the drinks were really good. It was a calm and small place got a table for two on Valentine’s Day easily. I would definitely go back

This places food and drinks were good. Just beware the service wasn't great. We waited a solid 30m before we got our food between our drinks. We finished our drinks before the food came. And we waited 15m for our 2nd round. Service not great. Food and drinks delicious.

Good wasn’t very authentic but still good. Very small portions of rice and beans to accompany the dishes. As well as very few tortillas to accompany the dishes. Waitstaff was good but the food took quite long.

if you want to stay after dinner you cant the bartender opened both of the restaurant doors on a cold night forcing us to leave there were other people in the restaurant & little by little all had to leave. it was quite rude. we were there about 1 and 1/2 hours we will never go again

I personally didn't like my vegetable taco..I thought it would have had some rice and beans in it like I've had at other restaurants. The chicken taco was ok. My wait time was also long considering I was getting a very basic order.

Just average. New Rochelle has a lot of options for Mexican food and this one is just OK. We only went there once, but they had only mediocre food and service was kind of slow and generally lacking. We will stick with Little Mexican and Mexican Corner which are all within a couple of blocks of each other.

Been here several times. Really want to love it, but it just hasn't blown me away. Extensive menu, from which I've tried a few different options. Everything has been good, but nothing has been great. They do make some good margaritas as well. Plenty of options for Mexican food in the area. Need to do better to stand out

Came for dinner tonight on Friday, June 28. We ordered nachos with my wife and we each ordered a separate dinner. We got the nachos, finished them then we waited 20 minutes to half an hour and a woman asked us if we would like dessert or something else. And we said yes we would like our dinner, they forgot to put the order in for dinner. Not a good first impression. Not sure if we would come back.

It was not bad. The food was good but did not feel fresh. The service was pretty good but we came in for a birthday meal, and literally 2 people that came after us got their birthday singing before us. That was not really cool, but that's how it is sometimes.

I should have listened to the reviews that pointed out the rice having mixed vegetables-(the frozen kind). Never in my life have I seen this at an authentic Mexican restaurant which makes me question the authenticity. Food was just enough 👎Not that we cared for leftovers, but the plate was begging for more food. The plate looked empty. Our waitress was great though. My children though liked the food, they were not wowed by it however. My son remembers having better tacos at one of those restaurants in the hood part of New Rochelle (no offense). Off topic though, parking was a pain and not because I couldn't find, but those meters are ridiculous. There were 4 in the area and None of them were responding or working properly. My patient son had to go around the block. Other people had issues too. I will not be visiting that part of New Rochelle any time soon. I have to find a really great Mexican sit-down restaurant, as I keep coming up underwhlemed😪

On this specific day, customer service was horrible. We walked in on a little over an hour before closing. We were rushed into ordering, ordered a drink didn't get until 30 minutes after, and they're rushing US! It wasn't busy only a couple sitting. Disappointed and confused with all the great reviews. The margaritas were very good. The food was not good, sorry to say. The yellow rice and beans were eh didnt eat them at all. I got enchiladas 3 amigos it came kind of cold.. I ate one.. my daughter got a burrito it was dry and the meat was dry.. we usually bring food home this time we left it on the plate.. I came home still hungry... the food is NOT authentic and I could cook it better at home and Im not Mexican.. This is an appetizer and drinks kind of spot! I wouldn't order anything other than that!

This was the least authentic Mexican food I've every had. Why were there carrots in your burritos??? It was literally the peas/corn/carrot frozen mix that little kits get in cafeteria lunches... in your burrito. The two stars is only because the margarita was pretty good and inexpensive. Okay so I have been to Mexico many times so I may be a bit picky but regardless I try to be fare. I do expect a place like this to be "American Mexican" so my expectations were not high, however the waiter did not know which tequila he had, he mentioned a few and said thats all, I went to the bar and there were many more on the shelf. The menu is typical American Mexican but a bit pricey for the type of entrees, I ordered and the food came out within minutes - always a bad sign at any restaurant. The food was not good and my friends dish was the same poor quality, the salsa was obviously out of a jar not fresh and that says a lot for a good Mexican restaurant. Disappointed to say the least.

The food is okay - nothing spectacular but not bad. The prices are not the best, parking can be difficult to find and the waiters are EXTREMELY slow. My margarita was the bomb, but my burrito I personally didn't like, it was extremely gooy, and well they put red sauce and a little cheese on top, I think that doesn't go well with and on a burrito. The sauce taste just like a can of tomato paste seriously and the salsa for the chips taste the same. I didn't eat it or anything else. Paid for the drink and left.

I always order take out from this restaurant but the other day I decided to dine in. When we entered the restaurant there was only one other person inside eating I asked the waiter for the side of Guacamole made fresh at the table. He told me that they were not doing it. Less than 30 minutes later two other people walked in and they made the Guacamole at their table. When I asked what time they started that service he said they are under staffed from 3pm to 4pm. We got to the resturant at 4:45pm. I was turned off by the service as soon as I walked in.. Next time I know to walk out because the whole experience was a huge turn off! I will no longer order take out from this restaurant. I will order from the other locations because I do enjoy the food.

Went last weekend and waited over 70 mins for our food and our party was not even served at the same time! the servers barely noticed us. my plate looked like it sat under the warmer for who knows how long, no garnish, no dressing on the salad. even the chips and salsa were terrible. a total waste of my money. will never go back.

Wow! This Mexican restaurant is decorated with so much beautiful detail. Each table is a work of art! You must visit to eat delicious well priced dishes and have their amazing Sangria! The best sangria I’ve ever had and I’ve had around the globe including Mexico. …so that WAS my 5 star review a year ago for our go-to neighborhood Mexican restaurant. My visit there the day after Conco de Mayo this year 2023, made it 2 stars now. Those 2 stars are ONLY because the decor is unchanged and still awesome, and the red and white sangrias are still on-spot, banging!!! BUT until their new chef and staff can do much better than the tasteless dishes we were served they will get zero stars from me. My friend sent back her seafood salad because it tasted like the tiny shrimp and tiniest calamari they could find, were soaked in dish water before being tossed into the salad that was equally weirdly tasteless. The server acknowledged her as a regular patron yet said or did nothing to make amends for her returned meal. She did not even want to try a substitute dish because my entree was also unsatisfactory. My chicken burrito had strips of unseasoned chicken and the red sauce that was poured liberally all over it was the same odd flavorless concoction they used as a base this time for the watery red salsa dip for the complimentary nachos. The 2 of us usually go through 4 baskets of their chips, that used to be light and oven-warm or hot with copious amounts of chunky salsa AND guacamole. This time the chips were thick and room temperature. We gave faith a try and ordered a second basket to see if they would be better, it wasn’t. Bland efficient service needs to step back up to the attentive cheerful energetic servers of the past. There was no excuse because there was only one other group of diners besides us in the whole restaurant at 3:00pm in the afternoon. The 3 children in that group of First Communion celebrants were not even specially catered to by the server. Every smart server knows, cater well to the kids at a table, and the ever so grateful parents will tip you very well. Oh well, we will give this place a rest and find another local go-to for this summer. It was that disappointing.

First of all im not even from this state and am shocked it got about 5 stars ! First restaurant I tried going to in New York and the man didn't even greet us, didn't even say hi. We stood there, asked if we sat ourselves, were ignored , as he talked in Spanish to a group next to us. We said excuse me trying to ask to be seated and he walked away from us... thanks for the "niceness" and "hospitality".

Food was ok but they were under staffed so we had a hard time getting water refills and even leaving. Then only 20 minutes after eating me and my party began to feel sick. I had diarrhea for the night and threw up the next morning. The rest of my party felt nauseous. I WILL NOT EAT HERE EVER AGAIN!!!!!!

1st time in my life I have a burrito with Italian tomato sauce on it , that was on the outside , the inside I could not tell what was what , beans ,rice and other ingredients were mixed into a paste, the miniscule serving of lettuce and onions with no dressing and the teaspoon of guacamole and sour cream didn't help much. I see this place has an avarage of 4 and a half stars , maybe their other dishes make up for their burrito invention but I will not be spending any more money here tonfind out.

I visited this place frankly because there was a long wait at Colombian House up the block. When my party and I arrived, we were seated right away. The waitress asked if we were ready to order about 5 minutes after. With the semi-large variety of Margaritas, I asked the waitress what was inside the "Negra Modelo", she said it was a regular beer. I pointed out that it was noted under "Margaritas" on the menu, then her response changed and said, yes it is- nothing further. With her uncertainty I went with the "Blue Cancun" which I was much more familiar with. The beverage was over-poured with sour mix. None of the flavors were balanced. The rest of my table had the same feedback on their drinks, which were Mojitos and Sangrias. At around 10:30pm, we asked the waitness if we can order another drink, as we have been chatting and realized we weren't attended by her in some time. She stated that we could not as the bar was closed. At 10:45pm, it took me by complete surprise when they shut off all the lights and tvs while several tables were still filled. If only to address your table and explain that you're closing was too much effort. I found this to be completely unprofessional. Lack of service and pretty much being pushed out- I'd wait the 45 minutes to be seated at Colombia House next time!

Try to come yesterday, but the doors were locked at 8 o’clock. Didn’t put a sign on saying that something was wrong with the kitchen. There was about 10 of us outside wondering what was going on and then someone finally came after we are knocking to see what was going on. They were open And I heard really good things about this place for my boyfriend. I sat down and I wanted to get a chorizo taco with a soft tortilla and the server just wasn’t understanding. I don’t understand. Why can I not swap out the corn tortilla for a flour tortilla what is the issue so I just got up and left Horrible customer service

Pretty disappointed. In town for one more day and wanted a Mexican restaurant. Place wasn’t that busy but once we were seated it was near impossible to get service. No one even looked our way to flag someone down. This continued throughout the entire meal, always hard to get ahold of someone. Very disappointed with service. Food took forever to come out. The food was okay, not great. Seemed like it wasn’t seasoned enough.

Let's get this straight the food is great and it's authentic mexican. But I come here every single week and I order. There's some reason always a problem with avocados guacamole it's like they don't have it this is a Mexican restaurant. Now today I get guacamole for $13 and look at the size of this literally like a slap in my face
