Ikaros Diner is praised for its expansive menu, friendly staff, and clean environment. Customers rave about the Greek options, especially the salads with homemade dressing. Some mention the diner's dated condition and occasional inconsistencies in food quality.
Tip: Try the Greek selections, especially the salads with homemade dressing. Be aware that the diner's condition is showing signs of wear.
The Greek salad is amazing. You walk in and they got cheesecakes, pies & all kinds of desserts on display. I eat here a lot. The food is always good and people are so friendly. Matter of fact the last time I was there they even gave me a free slice of cheesecake. This place is awesome highly recommended to everyone.
Fantastic, traditional diner experience. Food was exceptional. Tina, our server, was the best!
First off, the salads are amazing! High quality ingredients, and HUGE. Blueberry pancakes are great, two different people on different trips got the chicken asparagus dish and loved it, the motzahball soup is a family favorite! In the tradition of Greek diners, this one has a large menu, specials, and spirits if you choose. Friendly staff, great owners, good value, and one of the few still open late (on the weekend). Don't be afraid to try the non-diner type dishes, my wife really enjoys a beef special that comes with mushrooms (can't remember the name but will update when I see it next). Huge portions are the norm here, so bring your appetite, but leave room for dessert!
I love this place. The owner is wonderful and his servers are polite. It's definitely a family friendly diner. The food is delish and don't get me started on their baked goods. I usually order the Manhattan clam soup or matzo ball when I choose off the "Specials". I also order eggplant parmigiana and I cant get enough. I'm telling you, I will choose Ikaros over any other diner in the area. Oh.. and The veggie burger? I'm so with it 😍
Service was friendly and attentive. Food was fabulous with very generous portions. Huge menu selection and hard to decide what to order. I don’t understand why the place wasn’t packed either time we dined there. Wish we had a place like this in Nashville, TN!
The food and service is great here and the building is a classic Greek dinner. The menu has a huge variety of choices to pick from including soup to nuts. There is everything imaginable to choose from. Many traditional fare as well as things you would not expect. Service was wonderful and all staff friendly. Prices are very reasonable and this is a place worth visiting again and again.😄😄😃😃
This place is great! The portions are a nice size. The food is delicious. The staff is very nice and attentive. My coffee cup was always filled. If you get the chance check them out!
Nice little diner. Their chicken quesadilla is really good. Very flavorful. Everyone else's food looked great too. Waitstaff is nice. Service is quick. Lots of food choices.
If you go try going on a Saturday night or Sunday, Monday afternoon to evening and ask For the young waitress Crystal. She's awesome and friendly. The older woman is kinda not interested in being there
The place is amazing, the coffee is good Sue is an amazing, very attentive and super nice. If you in the area need to check it out a total breath of fresh air. BTW the Cornhash is of the charts 🤍
Very great experience!!! Sat across from a huge stocked bar on a busy Sunday morning would never even know it was busy cause the service was consistent never even waited for a refill. The banana pancakes were out of this world. New Sunday morning spot for sure.
Nice classic diner menu complete with all kinds of cakes and pies for dessert. My cheeseburger was made to perfection and tasty. And the service is attentive, folksy, and fun. If you're a diner lover check Ikaros Diner out.
I'm updating my review because there is a server "working" at Ikaros now who is so unpleasant and unmotivated that she ruins everyone's experience. She is terrible at her job, rude to customers, rude to the OWNER, and claims she "doesn't like to be nice." Yeah, we noticed. The man who used to bus tables and is now cooking has so much integrity and does a great job. He took our drink orders and brought our drinks to us because she couldn't be bothered to do her job. The owner is such a sweet man who has poured his heart and soul into this business and it absolutely kills me that he's being undermined by such an awful person. If I didn't know the back of house staff and the owner, I would NEVER go back because she's just that bad.
I must say that this is the best diner in the area with the best food and the best customer service that I dealt with as well. The owner of this diner Steve is a extremely nice guy and a VERY respectful person as well. As for Tina one of the the waitresses she’s Awesome and gives you the best customer service and she’s extremely VERY friendly and polite as well. And I must say that she is one of my favorite waitresses there. So I highly recommend everyone to go there and try the food and it’s a promise that you will definitely get the BEST customer service possible. Unlike some other diners in the local area in New Windsor that I definitely DON’T recommend.
Food was good and service was prompt and wait staff very friendly. The diner has not been kept up through the years but the food and price is worth the stop.
Seriously not sure why I don't go here more often. The waiter we had was beyond on top of things as he served us and at least 5 other tables! The food was perfect. Fluffy and delicious pancakes, French toast and eggs. Extra tea and not rushed out. Will be back soon!
Maybe a little.pricey but NO Wait so very fast service. Nice staff and good food. Also nice view of the lake We had a good breakfast here.
Food was very good. The service was very nice. It's a nice calm place where we were able to sit and relax to enjoy some great food.
Stopped by on our way north on a family trip. Enjoy stopping at local diners and this one was a treat. Great service and large portions of tasty food. Stopped on a Monday and the kids meals were free! Thank you for a great meal. Surprised it wasn’t busier.
Great diner. Expansive menu. I had the lemon orzo soup which I thought was perfect! My husband had french toast with a side of sausage. They were fluffy and plentiful. You wont go wrong, do stop here!
Great diner, both for the deco design and the excellent food. We had the deluxe lox bagels, a real treat! Everything on their extensive menu is scrumptious! We have eaten here many times and never been disappointed. This diner is well worth the stop.
A large inviting Greek American style diner with Mexican style options. The food was good. The service was excellent. The bathroom is large and clean. When I’m in the neighborhood, I will definitely return. I will also recommend it to friends and neighbors.
Wonderful homemade food, huge menu, friendly wait staff!! The spanakopita, souvlaki, and chicken salad club sandwiches were delicious. We had the homemade custard filled eclairs, The absolute best I have ever tried! These were sturdy and flavorful and holding loads of luscious custard and thick chocolate covered. It was served with chocolate and dolce de leche sauce and dusted with powdered sugar. Save room for it!
My friends and I went to the Ikaros Diner for breakfast on Saturday morning, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a fantastic meal. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including pancakes and sausage, a healthy wrap, and eggs Benedict. Let me tell you, each dish was absolutely amazing! The pancakes were fluffy and the healthy wrap and eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was also great. Our server which i wish i can remember her name was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. What really stood out to me was when the manager came over to our table to check if we needed anything. It's those little touches of hospitality that truly make a dining experience memorable. Overall, our experience at Ikaros Diner was fantastic, and I can't wait to go back again soon. If you're looking for delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further than Ikaros Diner. Highly recommended!
Ate here recently while visiting the area and had a wonderful experience. The service was prompt and we didnt have have a problem with our server, though I can understand why some people may take offense at her matter-of-fact attitude. The food was absolutely fantastic. My spouse and I both had the gorgonzola burger and it was one of the best burgers we've ever had. The fries were delicious as well and I really enjoyed their cole slaw. My only [minor] complaint is that the cheesecake we had was a bit dried out, however, it was still thoroughly enjoyable. I really like the art deco atmosphere of the diner, and it seems to be a trend in the area. Some ppl complain about "dated" decor but i love when diners stick to classic diner vibes. From what I saw, the place was clean and everything was in good shape (the tables, seats, etc).
This is one of my favorite local dinners and we pulled into the parking lot to see a for lease sign. Feeling a little sad. Good luck to the owners.
This is a HIDDEN gem. Family owned and run. They are open year round (ALL holidays) and deliver top-notch food and service. Family and group-friendly. If you don't see something on the menu, just ask, chances are they can accommodate. Forget Denny's, come to Ikarus Diner on Route 300! Happy New Year!
Great place. Service and food was awesome. When I'm hungry, I will drive out of my way to eat there!!!
I got the skirt steak dinner which came with potatoes, mixed vegetables and soup or salad. For the potatoes I ordered mashed with gravy and I went with the salad. Then I got an unsweetened iced tea to wash it down. The total cost was less than $35.00 which seemed a bit pricey until I saw the size of the plate. The steak was cut in half, cooked exactly the way I asked and it filled the plate, with sauteed mushrooms piled on top, cooked to perfection.. It looked like they used an entire pound of them. I'm pretty sure the vegetables were steamed and consisted of broccoli, green beans, carrots and peas. The mashed potatoes were your basic home style with a brown gravy which was very smooth, silky and flavorful. The salad was made of crisp, fresh greens with onions, cucumber and cherry tomatoes and I got the blue cheese dressing which was served in a medium sized bowl, just enough to cover my salad perfectly. Overall, everything was excellent. I could only finish half of it so I took the rest home and had it for lunch the next day. So in essence, I really only paid a little over $15.00 per meal. I give Ikaros Diner two thumbs up and 5 stars and I most definitely will be going back there in the near future.
Ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, and it was solid 👍. The guy at the front desk was kind and the servers were as well since I asked for side of ranch. Would recommend to others in the future. My only advice would be to attend the customers immediately since there wasn’t anyone up front when I picked up my order behind another girl who was waiting. But I could add that up as it was near closing time because the food makes up for that fact.
As we’re staying next to the RedRoof Hotel, there’s this AMAZING diner that’s right here. OMG!! When I say the food was sooo delicious!! It was all well cooked, the chicken cutlets were AMAZING. The blonde waiter we had was so sweet and very accommodating! The prices were affordable for the amount of food they served. The place its self had good vibes as we will definitely come back here when we are out this way. 10 out of 10!!!
This is a good restaurant to eat food at. I highly recommend the French toast Riviera, which is covered in a ton of mascarpone cream cheese. More than that, it’s got a wonderful atmosphere, lots of friendly people, and it was open on Christmas! There are a lot of poinsettias, and lots of illuminated signs that make you feel very welcome here. It’s exciting with all the signage. Great bar. Lots of mirrors. Great bar.
Sue from Brooklyn took great care of us. No pictures — the food looked so good we both dove right in!! Loved the Greek side salad that came with my chicken souvlaki. The homemade dressing was on point. The feta was nice and creamy and the green peppers were very fresh. The pita and tzatziki were a nice complement to both my chicken and the wife’s gyros. Just enough chicken, gyro meat, and salad for a nice snack later. Finished off with a piece of baklava to go — stole a bit before leaving and it was delicious too! Ooooohhh that was good. Full desert case with cheesecakes, cannoli, and other pastries. Glad we stopped in on our drive to Maryland. Found the spot by a Google search for “gyros” but they have an EXSTENSIVE menu of various food items to meet anyone’s needs.
Wish I could give this restaurant 10 Stars!!! The selection of food and drinks is out of this world remarkable!!! I really don't know what they DON'T serve here! They have a little bit of everything so you can't go wrong. Our waitress was so kind too! She really made us feel so welcome and took great care of us! The owner even took a few mins with us before heading out! And the food, everything we ordered was outstanding! Can't wait to go back for breakfast even though you can order that all day long if you like! The cheesecake was so yummy!!
Every experience there is awesome. Food is delicious Service is awesome and always feel taken care of by staff. Very attentive. The owner is awesome, too. All the food here is excellent cooked to perfection. Nachos with chili is delicious Burgers, chicken, club sandwiches, and paninis are the best
Sooo yummy. The largest salad around. Always fresh and delicious. The baklava is amazing too. I’ve come here for years and I’ll continue to come when I can! Went back for a late breakfast. Bran muffin and fresh fruit salad was really nice and ripe. Hubby loved the oatmeal. It was made to order and not mushy!
Wonderful food. Service was superb. I wanted a little Greek fare in the local area and definitely found the place. I was concerned with the size of the menu. Multiple pages of American selections and others. Didn't know how they could offer so many selections and keep up the quality. But they did. The Greek salad was fantastic and packed with so many flavors. The gyro so hot and veggies fresh. The tzatziki was spot on. The server even brought out a complimentary veggie plate before my order.
Oh yeah.... we will be stopping in here again. The Mexicana speciality roll was AMAZING. You have to appreciate spicy food to enjoy it. The lady working the morning shift that day was really upbeat and pleasant. So good to stop by a place and be pleasantly surprised all around by food and staff.
Very friendly prompt service. Portions are generous, menu has a nice variety. I ordered the salmon special that included salad, potato, veggie and soup. The food was tastefully prepared. Seems as if the objective is on flavor as opposed to health, i.e., lots of butter and maybe breadcrumbs in crab stuffing. They make their own bread and serve it warm on the table as well as a plate of fresh veggies with dip. Both nice touches. The bread smelled amazing, but I didn't try it. Overall, I would recommend.
Never had better service. We were greeted and seated immediately. Everyone wore a smile on their face. The food was decent but to be honest I wasn't really concentrating on that because we stopped there right before my flight from Stewart airport and I was really excited. I will note however they were very accommodating with my husband and I keto diet. Many thanks.
The waitress that waited on us was super friendly and patient with us since we got there kinda late. The Gyro and White Russian I ordered were good. Definitely a good diner to hit up in the evening, especially for the price of my whole meal. Definitely recommend going if your in need of food later in the evening.
We stopped for dinner while out shopping... Diner was not very busy, seated quickly, service was good. My NY Cobb salad was very good, fresh and quite large. I didn't particularly care for the over cooked chicken fingers. But, the salad was good., wife's Turkey on Rye was a nice sandwich. A good lunch for $22.
The food was delicious. I ordered the gyro and while awaiting it another person brought me a plate of fresh vegetables for snacking. Then I was also given bread and butter for the table. Upon receiving my food I was impressed with the portion size. I ordered the raspberry cheesecake for dessert and it too was superb.
I had the Philly cheese steak and my friend had the Reuben. Both were very good, large portions and the French fries were very fresh and crispy.
A great diner experience. Despite the somewhat shabby exterior, the inside is fine, and this diner delivers top notch food and great diner service. A spinach and feta omelet was perfect and a basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, and fries was fresh and tasty. Warm service is a plus. We'll be back.
Ikaros Diner is a nice diner that is reminiscent of the trolley diners of the past, without being small like the trolley diners of the past. It's large enough to be comfortable, without being too large to be uncomfortable. The staff was friendly, and the food was good. Prices are subjective, since prices are rising everywhere as of late. We visited mid morning. As such, they were not busy. We had a nice breakfast and did not feel pressure to eat and run. It might be different if they were busy. But for us, all was good. My only complaint is about nature. The morning sun in the fall shines on the front of the diner and can be on the strong side. But if that's my only complaint, Ikaros must being doing things pretty good.
No complaints Standard diner breakfast. Waitress was super nice; contrary to some of the reviews of the staff here. However, we sat in the section with the carpet. Carpet needed to be vacuumed (should be replaced with hard floors) and the windows washed. Kinda gave the place a dirty feel. But nothing else was dirty (table, silverware). Poor management on that aspect. Management, get out there and clean those windows and let the customers enjoy the great view. Overall, will return.
Good food with nice sized portions. Average pricing. This place seems like it may typically be crowded so don't throw your hands up if you've gotta wait a few minutes. Nice road stop. Waiter (young guy with blue eyes and a Jersey accent) was very kind and attentive.
Classic diner. Came for lunch on an out of town trip on a Tuesday. Service was very good. The atmosphere is classic diner vibes. I stayed classic with a bacon cheeseburger. It was well cooked and tasty. The fries and onion rings were very good as well. Nice little place for a quick lunch!
Came on a random Tuesday morning. Pretty empty and quiet. Service was good, the waitress was the only one there as I believe I overheard her saying someone called out. She was able to hustle and the room came out pretty quick. Food overall was good. Ordered the Big breakfast and it was good. The only low spot was the dated decor. Overall a nice place to eat!
Everyone we talked to was very accommodating and we had a big group of 16 people. Service was very efficient and everything basically came out at the same time. The condition of the diner could use some work. It is showing signs of wear. It also needed a good cleaning. There was a section of ceiling removed due to a leak. But overall the meal was good and service excellent.
Being about 4 minutes off of i-87 we came in for a quick bite on our way home. It definitely has that old diner feel, as soon as you walk in the staff was friendly and talked to you like you’ve been there 100 times. It looks like you could film a movie here with all the neon lights and the general layout. Food was decent we got breakfast, French fries were good.
Mediocre experience. Food was decent. Fries were great. Gyro meat was cut on a slicer (and probably defrosted), not fresh off the rotisserie thing. Tasted okay though. Service needs quite a bit of help.
The food is consistently good. The servers are pleasant. My main complaint is that half the lightbulbs are out or off. The remaining lights are a mix of cold and warm light. The interior could use a bit of cleaning and freshening up. It has an overall apocalyptic quality inside.
Nice little diner. The food was good, and the service was friendly. The sliders were exactly how I wanted them and the fries are your standard diner fries. Thier cream of Broccoli soup was nice with big chunks of Broccoli. Would come back here for late night munchies or for a quick lunch bite.
Only one waitress was super courteous and very polite I didn't remember to ask her name. It's a nice clean dinner but the service is very slow especially today. The waitress not the one that is so polite took forever to refill our coffee and when she actually came with the coffee we told her to forget it.
t wasn't anything fancy. It was a diner, the AC was out and there were a lot of flies. Waitress was exceptional, prices was about the same as others. It could use some updating, over all it's an okay place to eat.
I was a bit skeptical considering the mixed reviews so I came in to see for myself. The menu is huge which, is usually concerning to me because it's usually an indicator for quantity over quality. Despite that, the french onion soup was really good. The service was good up until the point the server noticed I was not liking the Norwegian Egg Benedict's..she then just handed us the check and left without asking how anything was or if we wanted anything else. Hash browns were cold and bland. The hollandaise sauce was bland. The eggs weren't poached but over easy and the muffin was over toasted to the point it was too hard to cut with the knife we were given. The only thing you could taste was the spinach and smoked salmon. Now, the eggs and sausage we had ordered from the breakfast special menu was fine but, the corn beef hash was incredibly dry. I'm sure they have foods that are just as good as the French onion soup in terms of taste but the menu is so huge it's hard to figure out which to choose. If you do not like what you ordered it is encouraged to tell the server and they will take it off your bill and give you something else of your choice. The host was kind enough to let us know that after hearing our food was less than satisfactory. If you liked what you ordered I recommend you leave a review and help share what foods are good so it helps other people in the future.
It's a stand alone restaurant. My first visit here. Three of us had breakfast. Two orders were breakfast. I had a cheeseburger. I had to ask for my sides. The breakfast wasn't too great. The home fries were a small portion and nothing spectacular. The toast was cold, but the waitress got them hot toast after asking. Pancakes were decent. The atmosphere is dated. Typical diner. Employee at front was a little too in a rush when we wanted to pay and came across like she couldn't be bothered. Has a nice dessert case as you enter. Big parking lot.
The regular Breakfast was decent, Service was great. The place is Run down and in need of repair as well as being outdated. The staff was excellent, very courteous attentive and professional.
Service was excellent, the lady who served us was very friendly and attentive. The food was mediocre. I had a Norwegian eggs Benedict, which had a weird after taste which I thought was from the spinach, but even after removing it, it was still the same. The hollandaise sauce was ok. My wife ordered french toast which was very dry.
Food definitely tasted great, service was amazing! Loved Tiffany, she was so friendly. That being said, she was a very accommodating host when I found mould on my pesto. It must've been in the fridge too long. Then my dad found a piece of wire in his food. I told the owner, since Tiffany was unavailable at the time. He said it was probably from the cleaning thing, which def makes sense. Anyway, told Tiffany after and she looked horrified. Pretty sure we got a good discount, but my in law was paying so I don't know. Carrot cheesecake was mid. Good concept, probably tasted better when fresher. All in all good vibes from Tiffany. Food tasted great, maybe get new wire brushes?
We wanted a diner experience and found them online. It has the diner look outside but the food was disappointing. The menu was not as extensive as a typical diner and the prices were high for what you got. The inside needed updates and a good cleaning as well.
Everything was just okay. Food was okay. Atmosphere was okay. Service was okay. The building needs huge improvements (mold in ladies room ceiling & no A/C on a very hot day for starters). Could be good with some improvements. Won't be returning due to the state of the building. If the areas that customers/patrons see are in the condition they are in, what kind of condition is the rest of the building (especially the kitchen!) in??
The meatloaf with mushrooms and gravy with mashed potatoes was excellent. I had a side of spinach that was cooked perfectly. However the clam chowder was inedible, it tasted like the cook dumped a bucket of salt into the pot. Service was not as expected - not very friendly or attentive and manners gone by the wayside.
Good food not really the best I had, I went to pick up my food that I ordered by phone and the older lady in the front asked for a tip in five different ways, It felt like it had something to do with my ethnicity, not very polite. I honestly did not think that I had to tip if I was picking up the food myself, but that is not a problem I don’t think you should keep asking “tip for her?” 5 times I was only there for two minutes.
This is a very cute diner, but I've never been wowed by their food. Cocktails are a good price and tasty, but I don't really go there to drink, you know? Staff are friendly, and I like that they give you a small vegetable platter before dinner, but overall the food isn't worth what we pay.
The food was inconsistent. I had an omelet which was quite good. I ordered whole wheat toast but was given rye. When the replacement came it was cold. My friend ordered French Toast. 2 slices. One he reported tasted fresh and good. The other dried out. Service was very slow. Overall grade C+.
After a hour drive we stopped at this dinner since it was on our way home. Terrible!!!! We ordered waited for 30+ mins for our food, after finally food arrived cold by the way! No lie about 12-15 mins in, the they asked us to leave cause the place had a Carbon monoxide leek….😳. Charged us FULL price and we didn’t even get a chance to finish our food. So upsetting, don’t get me wrong I understand it could happen anywhere but minimum 50% off should have been the charge or none at all since they asked us to leave! Like seriously 😒 Don’t recommend at all…
At 9pm on a Thursday, it looked closed from the outside so we almost turned around. It felt like we were a burden to the waitstaff. Our waiter gave curt responses to orders and questions. Service was overall poor. The food wasn’t bad (bugs aside). I ordered a beer but 75% of the beer menu was unavailable, so I chose a Guinness from the available options. They brought out a Guinness Extra Stout with a dirty Stella glass. My friend ordered a salad with his meal. They brought out dressing and no salad. The same friend was served a gyro with a large fly in his fries. He sent it back, and there was no apology or comp from the waiter. We were surrounded by bugs while paying the bill. The older gentleman working the cash register made light of this, almost embracing the chaos of the restaurant. I think he is the only person enjoying their time at Ikaros.
Subpar diner bordering on gross. Food very underwhelming. Waitstaff also kind of gross. Prices high. The place is falling apart with the steps in need of repair. This is definitely a place you can skip as it looks like they'll be out of business soon anyway.
We got mixed reviews from the people at the motel behind the diner. The place looks a little run down on the outside. We walked in after a long day driving in the heat to a dining room with no air conditioning. All we wanted was a cold beer and some food. Unfortunately, there is no draft beer(broken equipment) and no bottled beer. Mixed drinks weren't for us. We left to find another restaurant.
Disappointing Experience at Irakos Diner - A Las Vegas Couple's Perspective : My wife and I were in the area from Las Vegas, Nevada, and craving some good Greek food, so we decided to give Irakos Diner a try. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we hoped for. Our first impression was incredibly negative. The outside area leading to the entrance was shockingly trashy, which immediately set off alarm bells. Walking inside didn't improve things. They had floor fans blowing directly at the tables for cooling. Personally, I find the idea of fans pointing at my food while I'm eating to be incredibly unsanitary, and it made us question the cleanliness practices right away. The dining area itself was no better. The carpeting was visibly dirty with trash strewn all over the floor – something you'd expect to see pictures of in a "Kitchen Nightmares" episode with Chef Ramsay. And speaking of unsanitary, the bathrooms were trashed and completely lacked soap, making it impossible to properly wash our hands. It was truly disgusting. Despite all these red flags, I regrettably stayed and ordered the turkey wrap. It was just "okay," but honestly, I should have listened to my gut and left immediately. This place felt exactly like one of those disastrous restaurants Chef Ramsay tackles. I do NOT recommend Irakos Diner and will certainly not be back. Yuck. 🤢🤮👎👎
PrePaid PickUp..10 min wait for employees & Female Manager to end their Conversation & acknowledge the Paid Customer @ 2Pm... Silently Waving to get attention, I was verbally attacked by the Manager, who called me Rude, & "continued"..after I asked for my paid Meal & explained I had no desire to converse with Her.. I asked for an Owner . " I am the Owner & Don't ever come back here"... It's dirty, unkept & the " manager is rude. I want my 20% Tip back....
Stopped at the diner around 9:30 pm. 3 patrons in the diner. One wait staff person. Took 7 minutes before anyone came to the table. We ordered right away. As we waited for our order (egg sandwich on a roll) we could smell the eggs burning. 15 minutes later our order came out. Poor service and poor cooking staff. Won't bother to stop there again.
We were very hungry and took a bet on this diner. Only 2 or 3 other customers were there, which was eerily foreboding. It took 15 minutes before the waitress came to take our order, another 10 minutes to get the worst coffee in the history of coffee making, and we got our food about 40 minutes after we arrived. The food!!! How bad can your omelette be? It was greasy, tasteless although I’d asked for salt and pepper to be added while cooking; it was supposed to be a Western omelette with green and red bell peppers and onions, but they used a million onions and a few green bell peppers; the toasted bread was burnt, all 4 pieces. it took a lot not to throw up while eating. My other party ordered grilled filet of sole and was served half-cooked fried fish and I could smell the pungent fishy smell from across the table. We were too scared to ask for their water. We ate little and asked for the check. Even with an $8 tip, we got no word of thanks. I’d rather starve than return here. The only joy was starring out at the lake across Union Avenue.
How it ever got four stars is a mystery. I had lunch there today. It was not very crowded at 12:20 this afternoon. For some reason the waitress kept apologizing to everyone around me for the delays. I should have left then. But I stuck it out. Twenty minutes after being seated the same one that walked passed me at least ten times, either bringing food or apologizing for more delays, came a took my order. I asked for a Philly cheese steak on a wrap. What I got was jerky with peppers and onions on a very old and dried out roll. The meat was incinerated beyond anything chewable. The roll crunched not because the crust was crunch, because the bread, still not a wrap, was rock. The roll fell apart when I bit into it. Meanwhile Flo kept going by ignoring my attempts to stop her. On the good side the fries were hot. Not stopping there again when I am in the neighborhood. I am sure there is a McDonald’s nearby.
The single worst dining experience I have had in over a decade. The service was terrible (forgot my beer twice so I ended up just not having it; the server was cold and unfriendly), the food took over 25 minutes to arrive even though the restaurant was empty, and the quality of the food was horrendous. Everything was overcooked and bland. Don’t waste your time and money coming here. You’re better off going to IHOP or Denny’s
I ordered the same wings on 2 different occasions. The first time they were absolutely amazing, big jumbo wings in a house very mild buffalo if you would call it. The second time i just ordered the same thing and i got skinny poor excuse for
Food order was wrong, had to send both meals back as well as every booth and table around us. When we got the lunch bill for two for$40+ we were discusted. Did not leave a tip, the waitress chased us down in the parking lot and had the nerve to ask why there was no tip. During our meal the same waitress argued with customers about what they were ordering and publicly announced that she was having a bad day. The wait staff were arguing with each other very loud as well. Worst diner ever.
We just ate here and will never go back again… First it took 40 minutes to get our meal… Not once did the waiter come over. Then it finally came. They had regular fries on plate, wanted sweet potato fries… back to kitchen and back , fries were Cold and my BLT was spilling loosely on plate. My husband’s baked potato cold and still hard… meat loaf cold… gravy on side cold.. when telling owner while paying his comment was…well your Not perfect either!!!!! Nasty old man….will never go here again, nor will friends and family
The owner and cook are very nice but the service staff was atrocious. I have never met such an unfriendly waitress in my entire life. Aside from never offering what they did have available and instead saying "We don't have that" for about half the menu, she seemed very annoyed to be taking our order period. She was very unpleasant, to say the least. Waitress had an immense staring problem as well. I would've walked out had it not been a going away event for a coworker. Owner seems aware of this issue. Took about an hour for a milkshake and by that time, after tolerating the way she treated the group, I didn't have the appetite to finish half of it. Never again, I rather starve than ever come back here.
I’m so sad to write this 1 star review. This place used to be our favorite. As a military family we like to find a place we can go to weekly or when family comes into town at each place we’re stationed. Today the owner was our server and she really lacked customer service. When we walked in she stared at us as if we were supposed to say something to her. We have eaten here over 20 times since moving to the area, to the point where we were known by name to a few staff members. Tonight the food was the worst we have had as well. She stood behind the counter as we waited to pay and didn’t acknowledge us until a few mins later. After today we will never be back or recommend this business to our fellow military friends who move here :(
I wake up with the taste of a French toast. Order and this taste disgusting. It looks like it was made out of oil, no matter how much syrup you put. It taste like oil and greasy, never have this experience before on French toast order. I will have to throw it away. Lose my money and bad experience☹️
I searched Google for best breakfast and this place came up. Had 4.5 Stars so thought it should be good. Now my review is based solely on breakfast. It gets 1 star based on their choice of syrup. See attached picture. This is what I would expect from a fast food joint. Not a diner. If I would have seen this is what they give you before I ordered I would have walked right out. Unfortunately I ordered then they brought put this. If management reads this, please get some real maple syrup for your patrons. As far as the other food and service it was fine, they have a great selection on desserts. But for me the syrup is a deal breaker.
