Opinions de Aya Sushi New York
Cozy place very close to broadway. The drinks and the food were great. The lamb burger was incredible and the Joyce beer was by far one of the most delicious beers I’ve ever tried. The waitress was very kind. If you’re looking for a place where to sit, talk and have great food, this is it!
Our experience at The Joyce was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, our waiter Carlos provided impeccable service—kind and always attentive to our needs. The food exceeded our expectations from start to finish. For appetizers, we enjoyed chicken wings and a delicious artichoke and cheese dip accompanied by pita chips. For the main course, we chose a variety of burgers and sandwiches, all well prepared and exquisitely flavorful. The grand finale was the desserts: an apple pie with ice cream and a brownie with pistachio ice cream—simply delightful. The price-quality ratio is great, especially considering the location of the establishment. Without a doubt, we will return on our next visit to the area. God bless!
Attentive service and great food and drinks. Also the atmosphere is great! Nice decor.
The Joyce Public House is an absolute gem! The drinks are top-notch—expertly crafted and consistently delicious. Whether you’re into classic cocktails, craft beers, or something new, there’s something for everyone. But what really sets this place apart is the service and atmosphere. Kevin was our bartender/server and was super sweet and provided great customer service! It’s warm, inviting, and full of energy without being overwhelming. Perfect spot for lunch or a drink on the go a night out with friends or a casual evening to unwind. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!
The loveliest place! Like a home away from home. The staff are so helpful, such a delight to go here. The food is amazing also, I had the mushroom tagliatelle-there was so much flavour, just perfect. 11/10 recommend, please go here if you’re close by. Dianna (I think her name is) is an angel aswell, such a lovely soul. So a big thank you for her for looking after us, we hope to see you soon<3
The Joyce is a hidden gem of the city, a great little place to eat or have drinks, the staff are friendly and make you feel so welcome, they were amazing with my 8 year old daughter and it was a great place to celebrate new years eve. We visited a few times over our weeks stay and were never let down, the food, service and value for money was always good, plus as we were staying on the same street we received a 10% discount. I was even given dessert when they found out it was my birthday. The manager Ruiari was really nice and all servers were great but Carlos went above and beyond for us each visit. Would definitely visit again.
Went here for happy hour for great value dishes and drinks. It was a great experience with friendly staff. Food came quickly as well. The portions were generous and tasty, especially the quesadillas and mussels. The kids loved the mozzarella sticks and dirty fries. If you are looking for comfort bar food, this is the place to go.
Choosing a place to dine in NYC can be overwhelming, simply due to the sheer numbers and varieties of options. We stopped in this establishment mainly due to the proximity of our hotel. As it turns out, it was a indeed a good choice. They offer a good selection of comfort foods, and gourmet selections. Pricing are reasonable in comparison. The staff was attentive to our needs, and entrees were done in a timely manner. The interior of the dining area was nicely furnished to provide a cozy ambience. Overall, a good place to dine in for dinner, or just to have a drink with family or friends.
The food was delicious phenomenal. I went twice in two days because there were too many choices I wanted to try! The second time I went with a group of 18 and the service for the group wasn’t quite as good. Just a little slow but considering the size of the group not horrible.
Such a great meal. I would give the food 2 extra stars if I could. The lamb burger was perfect flavor, balance, and size. The fries were good. The shepherds pie is some of the best i have had outside of Ireland. The bartender, she makes amazing Old Fashions! Went for drinks last night. Tonight for food. I wish we were staying longer, we would go back again. It was a nice atmosphere. Live music tonight. So good. Service was ok. A little slow. But they were friendly. We are glad we went. It was right next to our hotel! Super convenient!
Really nice pub with lots of space. It was quiet when i was there on a weeknight, but I'm sure it gets packed. I tried their lamb burger with a Brooklyn lager for dinner. The burger was huge and unwieldy, but very good. The staff were friendly and my server, Marisol, was very attentive. Prices are very reasonable too and they even proactively offered a discount for staying at Candlewood Suites nearby. This place made my night and I would definitely come back.
It was a sweet surprise in the heart of New York. Had Premier League playing and the US Open, great for International sports viewing. Food was delicious and happy hour deals were amazing! We got seating very quickly and served the same. Recommend if you’re in the mood for a cozy Irish pub. Only critique I have is the mocktails, be sure you’re a fan of the ingredients before ordering.
Large indoor pub atmosphere (without the smell of stale beer) with a great menu and fast turnaround. It was surprisingly quiet. Food was very good and waiters super attentive. Great for lunch meetings. My guest remarked at the surprisingly good pick and said he'd return. Can't get a better review than that.
Classic pub atmosphere with a relaxed, local crowd. Drinks were well made and the vibe is easygoing, a good spot to catch up or unwind after work. Service was friendly and casual, exactly what you expect from a neighborhood pub. Grab a seat at the bar for the best experience and conversation.
hole in the wall I cannot recommend enough. call ahead to make sure there is space but it's totally worth it
Wonderful food. Cozy sleeve of a place. Excellent service and the best soup I've had ever from an Asian restaurant. Large shrimp. , fresh ingredients. May take 10-15 minutes, call ahead to order.
Came here last minute knowing it looked like a quick easy entry level sushi place which is it. What surprised me was their queenie roll being a roll I haven't seen before and surprisingly refreshing and pleasant. We also asked about a big substitution, basically changing a roll completely and they said they could do it for us. The salmon avocado roll was very soft and both the salmon and avocado were very fresh. Im very glad I stopped in and will come again!
The best food I have ever eaten! So much flavour and so great staff! If I would live in New York I would go here every day!
Just had a takeout lunch from Aya Sushi. The rainbow roll and the sashimi (salmon belly, octopus, yellowtail, yellowtail belly, fluke, striped bass) was delicious and fresh. Was even given a free extra eel sauce and extra soy sauce, plus a dessert orange that had been cut in interesting fashion. The portions were perfect for me so I didn’t feel like I had too much or too little…just right. Definitely recommended to any connoisseurs of Japanese cuisine, regardless of living in the area or visiting. There was a “Ken” in the restaurant while I was waiting for my order. He wouldn’t shut up about the seaweed being inedible, which isn’t true. He probably just ate the green plastic decoration lol. The staff handled this Ken respectfully, and I commend them for the patience they had, as I could clearly see how much love they put into their food. Dealing with entitled people is a drain for anyone owning or working in a restaurant, as it is also a drain for other customers who witness it. Thanks guys! You did awesome and I can’t wait to be back again!
Irish Pub near Port Authority Station. Popped into this joint while meeting with a friend. I went during happy hour and ordered various frozen drinks and also some eats. I ordered the fish tacos, and quite honestly i was very surprised, my expectations for bar food is well adjusted but yes, that fish was one of the most moist, and supple fried fish ever, even for a bar; so i was quite impressed and surprised by the quality of the fish tacos. now on other hand, i ordered their 10$ frozen margaritas and pina colada; now it wasn't bad by any means, it felt a bit short on alcohol or rum, i tasted a lot of mix and sugar, but not much alcohol, and mind you, i have very low tolerance for alcohol now, so it must of been quite absent. The staff was nice and attentive, and I would go back, perhaps this time, beers, and most of all, that fish taco again.
They were understaffed. We and all the tables around us were waiting for the server for various needs - ordering, drink refills, check, etc. The person filling our water was attentive so we had to communicate via him a couple times. We were stressed because we had a show to go to. On the positive side, the place had a warm, inviting atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks and food, and great vegetarian options. My husband and I liked our entrees - cod and a mushroom flatbread. The Joyce Amber was good too. I would come back on a night when we have no time constraints.
Typical burger joint but a great find for that part of the city. Reasonable prices and moderately good food. Very large interior (unusually so for midtown). Perfect for a quick meal before a show. I'd go back.
Just another sushi spot. Options are what one would expect. Place is extremely small to dine in. No bathroom for customers. The sound of someone in the back hockin a loogie set the perfect ambiance as well
Great sushi, reasonable price, and friendly staff. Pretty small shop so I would definitely get takeout rather than eating-in but you can order online or by phone which is very convenient. Definitely not "out of this world" with flavor but good nonetheless.
I recently visited Aya Sushi and was blown away by their signature assorted sushi and sashimi platter. Each bite was a delightful explosion of fresh, meticulously crafted flavor. I loved the modern ambiance and attentive service. It exceeded my expectations and left me with a truly remarkable experience.
Very good! The Tuna roll had a very generous amount of tuna in it. Beef negimaki was excellent. Decent selection of sake. Bento box was lovely. The only downside is that it's incredibly small. Like 5 tables really close together small. Great for take out but you'll be lucky to get a table.
Super basic kinda-Asian restaurant, with a nice staff making average sushi. I'm rating this against the best of the best, but let me be clear: I will frequent this place again. Around Times Square, the quality here is just good enough and the trust just good enough that I would rather eat here than most other $30-or-less meal places in Times Square. So I'm not sure how to rate this: four stars b/c of the comparison with the rest of Times Square, or three stars b/c of the comparison with, say, Long Island City? Anyway, get a roll, they're well-sized. I also got the seemingly silly tuna pizza. The crust does hold up but isn't that crunchy when taken out, so eat that one there.
This place is small but serves perfectly acceptable Sushi. The Miso was tasty and the Sushi selection was good. I wasn't overawed but I did enjoy the food. It is very close to the Hilton Hampton Inn. If you are looking for a reasonably priced meal fairly close to Penn station and Times Square then this is a good choice.
Quite a horrible experience. I had the most salty sweet potato fries I have ever tasted, they were just covered in salt, uneatable. Really don’t understand why, cause otherwise they would have been quite good. The burger bun was not good either. The waiter didn’t hear our order of the beer correctly, took the wrong one away, but then still charged us. Also I ordered red wine, but got white, but at least there the waiter acknowledged that he mixed things up (the wine was pretty bad btw). Crème brûlée was too sweet, the chocolate cake didn’t have the right texture. 20% tip was added automatically to our group of 4. Really don’t understand how they can have such a high score.
I am rating this off my son and my second visit. He brought me to NYC to celebrate my 70th birthday. The pub was right next door to our hotel. Our first night in down we stopped in for happy hour. Had a very nice waiter, reasonably priced happy hour drinks and an appetizer. The second night on the way back from celebrating my birthday we decided to stop in before going back to the hotel. We were not even there for 1&1/2 hours as the bar closed at midnight. I had house Chardonnay and my son had well drinks, gin and tonic. We each had a couple of shots of Bailey. The bartender was not personable and as he wanted to clear the bar by midnight he brings one of those stupid card readers around and charges you without ever presenting a bill. Unfortunately my son did not asked for a receipt. Imagine his surprise when he checked his account later and the total was $150. How we spent that much in that amount of time is beyond me. Something does not add up ASK FOR A PRINTED RECEIPT BEFORE PAYING. WOULD NEVER GO BACK!
We were super disappointed with this place. Sat down and the bartender told us the kitchen was closed but we could order drinks. This was surprising because it was only 9:30 and the hours said they closed at midnight. Decided to stay for a few drinks since it was our last night in NYC and it was close to our hotel. The bartender was talking to another customer nearby said several times that “it was slow so they were going to close soon.” She continued her conversation with him and took at least 10 minutes to take our drink order. 2 other groups walked in not long after us and were immediately told it was last call even though we had been told it was ok for us to stay when we had asked to close out. Not sure if this is a regular practice on slower nights but it made the whole experience super uncomfortable. We only stayed long enough to finish our drinks. Sad that the good reviews were so misleading. Would have chosen to go to one of the other bars we had enjoyed instead of wasting our time here
