Opinions de Bagel Market New York
I adore this place! Just a little bit of normalcy in a busy neighborhood. The bagels are so, so good! And the coffee is great as well. The service is quick, it's never too crowded, and did I mention how good the bagels are? Seriously though, as long as this spot is around I'll always stop by when in the area!
There was a great variety of bagels and cream cheese plus other breakfast options such as oatmeal. The price was reasonable and the staff was friendly. The food came out fast and we went there again the next day after our first visit.
This is my favorite bagel place in NYC. Great food, great environment, great people!! Make sure you check out Bagel Market!
We visited the Bagel Market 4times during our 3 day stay in NYC. We loved the fresh bagels and smear. Everyone was so friendly and nice. The staff were very patient w my 78 yr sister-in-law trying to decide on what order. On Sunday morning we treated ourselves to lox and bagels - I had the Nocacado - which was fabulous. Since we ate in; the only thing missing were Mimosas - but their fresh squeezed OJ was great even without the Champagne. I hope to be able to come back soon.
Variety of fresh, tasty bagels. Generous with the cream cheese. Oh, and they have taylor ham. Lit
This place is one of the best bagels in NY. I’ve tried some of the ‘viral’ places and they don’t match up to bagel market at all. Always so fresh and delicious.
As others have said, the food and price is excellent. Service is quick. Go in, order and pay in the right side and then wait for you number. A good selection of pre-set (I had sausage, egg, bacon on toasted poppy bagel = #1) or you can go custom. See a lot of cops and construction workers here which tells you it good! Pro-tip: get your order to go, then jump on the subway to go eat it in Central Park - will still be warm by the time you get there.
Out of towner review: Freshly baked and affordable bagels. Wide selection of breakfast sandwiches along with salads and açaí bowls; fresh juices too. Plenty of seating inside as well outside. The lox is excellent, fresh and well portioned. Highly recommend stopping by, though depending on when you arrive, certain bagels may be all sold out (egg everything bagels, especially) and your wait time may be 5-10 minutes for your number to be called. Enjoy!
This comment was edited. Updated version is on the bottom. At 2.46 PM - can I get a salad? Response: we are closing in 10 minutes, they can’t do anything. What is the point to be open till 3 if you can’t sell me food to go almost 15 minutes prior. If your employers need to this close kitchen before closing the store, maybe you should give them more time to do closing tasks. I love your food and was often coming to get a lunch. This is first experience like that for me. Upsetting. UPDATED: I went there again for a couple times by now. Very happy with the service, also the way they back paninis - is amazing. My lunch stayed warm for 4 hours. Tried their mobile order system, it was easy to use an done within the time.
So I spent a week finding the best bagel in midtown and I believe this is it. It’s just a great overall combination of slightly crispy bread, fresh fish and creamy spread. Also even though the place was packed I didn’t have to wait a long time for my order, which is worth a lot in NYC.
I ordered pick-up online but when I got to the store, somehow they didn’t get any orders from me (after that one of the staff took care of it and prepare my order immediately). Anyways, I had a custom bagel: sesame bagel with scrambled eggs & crispy bacon. It was really delicious!!! I put a little bit of salt and pepper and it was perfect.
the best bagel i’ve ever had in my life. i’m usually very indifferent about bagels, but i finished this one in 10 minutes. the bagel bread itself is very soft and easy to bite into. i ordered the salmon, avocado and egg bagel, and all of the flavors worked really well together. it’s a big portion for the price, and with how close it is to grand central, it’s a perfect meal to bring on the train. highly recommend!
Word has it that The Bagel Market is among the city's finest (according to rave reviews). I dropped by for a breakfast delight and opted for smoked salmon, avocado, and egg. It was a delightful breakfast choice, not overly salty. Even though the portion was generous, I happily polished it off because it was just that good! 😄
Great selection of fresh hot bagels made on site. Be sure to try the pineapple cream cheese for something different. Great coffee too. Fast and easy to get in and out. I don’t know how this compares to other NYC bagels, but as a San Diegan this was the best bagel I’ve ever had. Service was quick.
When in NYC, and more precisely in Manhattan (Lexington area), you should get yourself a New York style breakfast, and what shouts more “New York” than a coffee and a bagel?! The shop was buzzing with life, the wide selection of breads as well as spreads and all these fresh ingredients, I was honestly amazed by how much choice there is to choose from! Bagel Market’s staff was friendly and efficient, and the smoked salmon bagel I’ve had was very tasty. I’m happy I went.
This is my favorite spot for bagels in New York. My top picks are the Geneva bagel and the avocado and egg bagel. They also have acai bowls, wraps, plates, and sandwiches. They have a huge menu with lots of choices, including cold and hot drinks. I wish they had more seats because it gets really crowded with long lines and waiting times.
Can find a huge variety for bagels and fillings, also lot of options for sandwiches. Coffee is also available. The service is quick and everyone is super nice. It is like a fast food service. There is indoor seating available too. I did not find the place too crowded, also there are table and chairs outside so you can have seat outside and have food.
One of the best bagels we had in our New York trip! The interior isn’t very cosy or cute like other shops but the bagel and filling combination was the best! Service was nice and friendly Bagels were the Nova style on everything bagels. Bagels were flaked with salt. The bagels themselves were absolutely huge, we got one each but ended up splitting one and sharing it. Saving the other for the next day!
I tried their everything bagel with roasted garlic jalapeño cc and Greek frappe. The bagel was thick and chewy. Cream cheese was delicious and the scrambled egg was well seasoned. Overall delicious bagel. They have a variety of flavors and other breakfast options. Greek frappe was strong as well.
There is lots of choice here, twenty different types of bagel, cream cheese in all sorts of styles, coffee, cakes, muffins and a really good team serving you
The bagels are tasty, well filled with the desired ingredients and the amount of cream cheese flavours should make every bagel‘s lover dream come true. Was there for lunch, had no waiting line and food was prepared within 5-10 minutes. Ideal place for a quick lunch! Service was really friendly!
I loved this place. I'm from Chicago and can't seem to find a half-decent bagel anywhere there. This place was right around the corner from my hotel and did not disappoint. I got a sliced everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and it was phenomenal. A little crispy on the outside, nice and soft on the inside. I came back the next day and picked up a bunch to take home and freeze. I would say if you want to order a bunch it would probably be best to order ahead for pickup, because they might run out of some varieties.
Picked up 1/2 dozen bagels for home. Good selection and excellent tasting. The blueberry and cinnamon/raisin were amazing. The French toast bagel was spot on as well. Coffee is really good. The employees are friendly, professional and quick. I wasn't waiting in line very long and it didn't take long to get my order. Whenever I get a chance to go to the city I try and make it a point to stop in. It is super close to grand Central. I highly recommend giving them a try
Fantastic bagels right next to the Chrysler building. Amazingly delicious, and a great variety. Pretty solid prices by NY standards too. Atmosphere is casual but very pleasant. The actual bagels are very tasty, and the fillings are fresh and juicy. We had an avocado and egg bagel which was great, and an Elvis bagel which was phenomenal. Strongly recommend this place when you are in NYC.
Bagel Market delivered an amazing New York style bagel. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff was friendly. I got the classic lox, and it was huge. The everything bagel was perfectly toasted while still soft and chewy; the seasoning was also amazing. The bagel came with a heaping load of delicious scallion cream cheese, and the Nova salmon was so tender and savory. The salmon brought the whole bagel together and was exploding with flavor. Make sure to visit Bagel Market to get a perfectly crafted bagel in New York City!
Very good bagels. The restaurant was clean Service was friendly. It took a little long to receive my order, but part of that may just be that I was in a hurry. They do not short you on the toppings, there was enough cream cheese to stop my heart and enough bacon and sausage on my other one to make sure it didn’t beat again. These are definitely better than any bagels I’ve back home in Texas. I’d definitely come back here. Paul
Great food at this place. I'm usually not a big fan off bagels, but they're bagels are damn good 👌🏽 Staff is really friendly and coffee is on point (if you like like and sweet as I do).
My fav spot in NYC. Great prices and great bagels. I always order on the toast app and it’s ready for pick up on time and packaged so nicely. They put a sticker on top of the ice coffee to avoid spills which is a great touch
This place has tables if you actually want a place to sit and enjoy your food. The inside is spacious and doesn't feel crowded. The bagels are good but maybe skip the coffee unless it's drip. All in all a very good spot when I needed a place to enjoy a calm breakfast.
Amazing bagels. True to their website, dense but soft, chewy yet airy and yes that crispy outside. Do yourself a favor and taste this bagel. I know everyone may have there own definition of the perfect bagel, but growing up in the 70s in the tristate, I have eaten my share and these come pretty darn close to perfection.
If you’re in the area, Bagel Market is an absolute must-visit! Conveniently located near my hotel, it was an easy choice, and the space inside is roomy and comfortable while you wait for your order. Ordering was a breeze, and my bagel was ready quickly. I requested “toasted dark,” and the staff checked to make sure — they nailed it perfectly. The bagel had a fantastic texture, the toppings on my everything bagel were just right, and the cream cheese was generous (even if it dripped a little—worth every bite!). Friendly service, perfect bagels, and a welcoming environment make this spot a winner. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip!
First time visitor to New York. With so many eateries to choose from we don’t like to go to the same place but we made an exception for Bagel Market. Had breakfast there 2 days in a row. Awesome bagels, good coffee and efficient service, and ample indoor seating if you have time to watch the world go by. We’ll be back next time we’re in town.
Bagel Market knows what it's doing. I had the jalapeño cheddar cream cheese on an everything bagel and a bacon, egg & cheese on an onion bagel. The BEC was phenomenal: crispy bacon, perfectly cooked egg, melty cheese, all on that chewy, flavorful onion bagel. Just hit every craving. The jalapeño cheddar cream cheese was solid too, great flavor and spice level, though I do wish it had a bit more sour cream to balance the richness. Bonus points for serving iced coffee instead of cold brew. In a world obsessed with overcaffeinated cold brew, I love when a place keeps it classic. Smooth, refreshing, and not trying too hard. Good bagels, great sandwiches, solid coffee, I'll definitely be back.
the bagel market has never been better—there’s so much variety now, from classic everything bagels to wild flavors like jalapeño-cheddar or blueberry-thyme. It’s easy to find options that fit my diet too, like gluten-free or protein-packed bagels that still taste great. Prices are a bit higher at the artisanal spots, but the quality and freshness make it totally worth it
Bagel Market in NYC is an absolute gem for bagel lovers! We stopped by for brunch and were blown away by how fresh, chewy, and perfectly crispy their bagels were. The variety of spreads and toppings made it hard to choose, but every bite was delicious. The sandwiches were packed with high-quality ingredients, and the portion sizes were generous. The place has a great atmosphere, with friendly staff and quick service despite the busy crowd. We loved it so much that we had to take some bagels for takeout—there was no way we were leaving without extras! A must-visit spot in NYC!
Good bagels served here. Order at the counter and there are so many choices. Traditional egg breakfast, sandwiches and you can even create your own too. Nice big selection of cream cheese and if you don’t want bagels there’s oatmeal, yogurt and wraps. Truly something for everyone. Clean and some inside seating so it not just for takeout.
We wanted a quick bagel experience before leaving NYC and randomly came into Bagel Market. They were about to close (open until 3:30PM), but did accommodate us and were very helpful. Bagels were great, spreads even better - loved the bacon scallion and strawberry. Highly recommended if you want a quick bite and like NY bagels. Will come back.
This spot offers a fantastic variety of bagels, and the French toast bagel is one of my favorites--it's perfectly balanced, not too sweet. While it's a bit on the pricier side, it's definitely worth trying. Conveniently located near Grand Central, it's an easy stop for a quick and satisfying bite.
I had the Salmon, Avocado & Egg with Sesame Bagel at Bagel Market, and it was a delicious treat! The combination of fresh salmon, creamy avocado, and perfectly cooked egg on a sesame bagel was simply delightful. The bagel itself was fresh and had a great texture, adding to the overall enjoyment of the sandwich. The flavors complemented each other well, creating a satisfying and tasty meal.
We came in on New Year's Eve Eve around midday as we were walking by. We both ordered The Central, and I got it on an everything bagel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were cheery and the service was pretty quick. I removed a star because my husband used the bathroom and said it was pretty disgusting in there. Otherwise, this place was pretty good.
They nailed it!!! The bagels are so gooood. Clean and chill atmosphere. Friendly staff. Little on the pricey side even for NYC 8$ for a glass of orange juice. The breakestfast sandwichs are delicious. I would like to see them a little more stacked for the price I paid but the flavor was delicious! Definitely worth a visit.
The best thing about this place was how quickly they served everyone. It was a very efficient operation. I tried two different bagels and the bagels themselves were fantastic. I loved them. Nice and crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I was very impressed. What I found to be lacking was the cream cheese on either bagel. They felt watery almost? Very thin like there was no substance to it. If I went back here I would only get the bagels and I would get my own shmear from somewhere else
Always love a filled bagel for breakfast when in NYC and I have tried many of the popular bagel shops... This was my first visit to a 'Bagel Market' though. I was impressed with their filling options, I went for my favourite, Cream Cheese with Bacon and Scallions in a toasted Everything Bagel and it was delicious. Total cost was $6.21 including Tax. Just what I needed at 8:30am as I walked around Manhattan on my way to the United Nations Building. Certainly up there with the best bagel's I have had in New York City.
I ordered an iced tea and an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. The iced tea was pretty bad-- bitter and over brewed (maybe instant). The bagel was pretty good with a great texture. However, the toppings were a little thin and lacked a touch of salt. The cream cheese was very good.
Solid spot. Bagels on the chewier side (a bit too chewy for my preference). Less of a local spot, seemed like mostly tourists on a Saturday afternoon visit. I got the walnut cinnamon cream cheese on French toast bagel and The Max (whitefish salad, tomato, onion) on everything bagel. The whitefish was honestly one of the best tasting I’ve had, but they were quite conservative with the amount of whitefish they put on the bagel, sadly. Really wish they put a bigger portion on, but the flavour was there for sure (a bit sweet (which was unique to me) and not overly fishy). There was also ample seating inside, no wait on a Saturday early afternoon, and expansive menu. Good spot but probably wouldn’t venture out of my way to come here (except for maybe buying just a tub of that whitefish salad haha).
Stumbled upon this place on my way to work. The staff were very nice and it was clean in there. Though it was early, the bagel was cold and very soft. A bit too soft and chewy for my liking. A good bagel should have a crispy crust, but this was very soft and chewy (untoasted). The scallion cream cheese was fresh but could have had some more scallion. On its own, it may be a good bagel, but in the arena of NYC bagels, it has stiff competition.
Didn’t give much tuna on a bagel with tuna. Much less tuna than pretty much any other place I’ve been in New York. 3 stars though because the bagel was very good on its own (but a bagel is $2 and a bagel with tuna is ~$9 so have to account for the tuna quantity in the rating)
I got the Geneva which was pretty good! A large and full breakfast bagel and a good value for the price (little under $9). I thought it would be cheddar cheese because of the photo but turns out it was Swiss- which to some degree is my own fault for not reading carefully but the words are also kind of small for how high up the menu is posted. I’m not a fan of Swiss cheese but otherwise it was a good bagel! I saw people ordering coffee but couldn’t really figure out what their coffee options are because there was no coffee menu posted. Once I got home I double checked and their full menu is listed online with all of their options. I would recommend checking the online menu before going since the in-store menu is a little hard to read and it isn’t comprehensive. It seemed like there was a good amount of seating inside if you wanted to eat there, but it’s kind of cafeteria style with large bench tables
I’ve been coming here consistently for a few months. Quality has gone from one of my favorites to bodega quality. Not sure if that conveyor belt toaster is new but I didn’t recognize it before it got this bad. No longer has that crunch on the outside, more leathery.
This makes me sad to write because this used to be my favorite bagel place. Used to have great bagels with lots of cream cheese…but the past two times i’ve been I’ve been served barely any cream cheese on my bagel. The bagels are still decent (they used to have more everything seeds) but the little amount of cream cheese is not worth going here anymore :( Great flavor selection of cream cheese so I hope they fix this!
Asked for a dozen everything bagels and they refused. Even though they had an entire bin overflowing, they said that if they gave me that many everything they would not have enough for other people to order.
Ordered a chicken club . I don’t Recommend it at all chicken was not fresh and no seasoning. They’re chipotle Sauce has no taste at all
Bought a salad here a few weeks ago.I was told it was Ten dollars by the time I walked ten feet to the register it was over 15 dollars. And it made me physically sick. I don't know if they didn't wash their vegetables correctly but it messed up my stomach.
I returned back for a second time, to see if the first time was just a bad fluke . As a lifelong New Yorker, I was hoping for a quality bagel but was completely disappointed. The bagels from the cart outside are much better. The everything bagel I ordered was clearly not fresh. Exterior. Bagel was spongy, and the interior was dense . The onions were damp and sticky, suggesting it had been refrigerated. The cream cheese was also spread so thin it was barely noticeable. For the price of what should be a premium bagel, the quality was subpar. I recommend you avoid this place, unless they get their act together.
I've been here a couple times before and everything was fine. But today I went and ordered a bagel sandwich with turkey bacon. (The receipt was correct btw.) I have a religious restriction and can't eat regular bacon so I've never had it and didn't know what the texture is like. I ate half of it before I realized they put regular bacon on it instead. After panicking and vomiting, I went back to the store to get my money back. The women at the counter were pretty rude. It took a while for them to apologize (which they should have done immediately in my opinion) and then they said they couldn't give me a refund because I already ate half of it. Yeah I ate half of it because you told me it was what I ordered, and then I subsequently puked all of it up when I realized what it was. Then they said they couldn't give me a refund because I paid with a card and their machine doesn't refund cards. Fine. So they offered store credit, but because I'm never coming back to this establishment again, I just requested a muffin instead. I literally never complain about customer service- but in my opinion, giving the wrong order to somebody with a religious restriction is not a minor error at all. The staff should have handled this better. I'm still really upset about accidentally violating my religious restriction, and the staff's insensitivity just made everything worse. I'd give 0 stars if I could, not only for the mistake but also because of the terrible customer service. Never coming back here.
Usually this place is pretty solid but I ordered a bacon egg and cheese and instead I received a roll with cold cheese and bacon. When I went back and showed them pictures one of the guys said the worker did not charge me for the eggs even though I ordered them. He asked if I wanted to pay for it after his employee made this mistake and not myself. After a mistake by your employee that wasted my time going back and forth to your store twice and to have the audacity to ask me if I wanted to pay for it is wild. Then he asked if I wanted a refund but they can keep the 5 dollars it’s clear they need it if this is how they run their business.
Bagel Market has ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I placed an order for a toasted plain bagel with cream. The cashier asked, “You wanted it toasted, and I said yes.” When I received the order, it wasn't, so I went up to them and told them. Everyone preparing the orders told me that the receipt didn't say I wanted it toasted. And that I should have looked at my receipt when they gave it to me. I told them you couldn't see the receipt well. So then they said you should had read it on the screen when they take my order. WHAT??? Any excuse I thought the cashier was doing his job correctly. Come one.
You can get a much better bagel in New York. These are worse than even the good bagels outside of NYC. No idea how this place has good reviews. Staff was very nice.
Simply a poorly-made bagel. The outside was burnt, and so difficult to chew through that it made my jaw sore. The inside was spongy - nowhere close to what you expect from a New York bagel. Genuinely, I’ve had supermarket bagels better than this place. The egg salad was roughly chopped and completely unseasoned - just big pieces of hard boiled egg and mayo. Shocked this place doesn’t have worse reviews.
Decided to give this place another chance, after they took 20 extra minutes after the online order I placed said it was ready for pick up. Now for my breakfast order, I asked for avocado on the side, and I get charged for the extra avocado, but when I was eating my breakfast, I didn’t get the extra avocado. Yeah never buying anything from this place again.
No where in manhattan is it ok to charge $10+ for a bagel with a small smear of peanut butter and a coffee. The bagel alone was $6+ !!! Absurd. The plain bagel is $1.75 so you charge me $4.25 extra for a thin layer of peanut butter!?!?! Then you want the payment screen to default to a tip screen? You charge more than you should so pay your workers without trying to tip shame customers. Add in the fact the place is FREEZING cold so when you sit down to try and enjoy your food, your coffee is cold in minutes and you need to be bundled up as if you were skiing. This one is off the list for sure.
