Maestro Pasta is everything you hope a classic New York Italian restaurant will be. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is attentive without ever feeling rushed. The pasta is exceptional, made fresh in plain sight, clearly made with care and respect for tradition. Every dish we tried was perfectly balanced, rich in flavor, and thoughtfully prepared. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the pride that goes into the kitchen. I highly recommend the polenta fries to start! It’s the kind of place that reminds you why Italian food done the right way never goes out of style. Whether you’re visiting the city or a local looking for a reliable favorite, Maestro Pasta delivers consistently and beautifully. Highly recommend and absolutely worth returning to.
What a great spot!! My wife and I often enjoy trying new (to us) pasta spots and this one has probably been the best so far. I had the Pasticciata and Lasagna, for which the Pasticciata gets the spotlight, it is creamy and very flavorful, it was so good I barely took breaths between each bite. My wife had the Cacio e Pepe and burrata salad, the Cacio e Pepe was also very very good, it may have a slight upper hand over everything else we ordered, great taste, creamy and overall just incredible. Most definitely will be returning and recommend you give it a try!
Maestro Pasta in New York is pure magic — a slice of Italy right in the heart of the city! The hospitality is warm, genuine, and makes you feel instantly at home. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal — come a casa. It was so irresistible that I went back four times in just one week! This place is a must-visit for anyone who loves Italian cuisine.
An excellent dining experience from start to finish. The food was authentically Italian and done really well. The interior decor adds a great atmosphere, and the staff were outstanding — enthusiastic, warm, and genuinely welcoming. Will definitely be back next time we’re in the US!
Delicious food, became one of my fav go to places in the city when I’m in the mood for pasta. The owner seems to really take his pasta seriously. Servers can sometimes make you feel rushed when taking your order, but they are not necessarily rude. I don’t take it to heart that much. Just know what you want before you get there. Food is always prepared with care and that’s what I really appreciate about the place.
Second time at this gem! Fantastic food (we have been to Italy a lot) and service. Haven’t had better pasta in the city. Highly recommend and will come back again and again. Thank you ❤️
I had only passed by before, but finally stopped in for dinner on a weekday afternoon. It was impressive to see the handmade pasta being prepared right in front of us. With both table and bar seating, it also feels like a good place to come alone. I ordered the Puttanesca and a glass of white wine, the portion was generous enough that I couldn’t finish and had to take the rest to go. The noodles were a bit thicker than I usually prefer, but overall I really enjoyed the meal.
Wonderful food after hitting the NYC with 2 kids we needed a great homemade meal. The service was friendly and the kids loved the swing benches :) We were cold and starving , fresh homemade pasta hit the spot. Lovely atmosphere, sweet staff with a great sense of humor:)
Went in expecting a good meal, but boy were we blown away! Each pasta was flavorful & bold. The Cacio a Pepe was one of the bests I’ve had. The service— incredible! Marco is an absolute gem! If the food had been mids we would come back for him alone. TY NY 💘💘
Staff is EXTREMELY kind and informative!!!! The food is FANTASTIC, AUTHENTIC & made to order!!!! They have adorable swings to sit on while enjoying your delightful meal. The staff also makes you feel as though you’re family. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back the next time we are in the city!!
This place really delivers on both food and vibe. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by the sight of fresh pasta being made right in front of you — the guy working the pasta machine is actually the same one you’ll see in a bunch of their Google photos and videos on Google maps reviews. It’s a fun, unique touch that sets the tone right away. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and cozy with string lights that add a nice glow. The service was genuinely great — super friendly staff who made the whole experience feel welcoming. Now for the coolest part: some of the seats are actually swings. Yep, actual swings hanging from the ceiling. It’s a really fun idea, but heads up — if you want to sit on those, definitely make a reservation. We didn’t, so we ended up at a regular table (still comfy though). As for the food: excellent across the board. The Bolognese was a standout, but honestly, every pasta we tried — red sauces, white sauces, different noodle types — was on point. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Would happily go back — just with a reservation next time so we can snag those swing seats.
Amazing authentic Italian food. Alessandro is warm and welcoming and the food truly is a meal like you have never experienced!!! You will not be disappointed! We can’t wait to come back. The coziness of the tables and swings are so unique and inviting.
Got the Cacio e Pepe and it was unreal :) super creamy, perfectly al dente, exactly how I love it. The focaccia was fluffy inside, crispy outside, totally addictive. Chill vibe, friendly service… honestly, can’t wait to go back.
Truly an amazing pasta spot! Ordered the cacio e pepe and it was out of this world. Pasta was perfectly al dente and sauce was creamy but not too rich. Owner came by to check on us and was very kind!
I just had a fantastic dining experience with my husband and our adult daughter at Maestro! Alessandro and his team are terrific - they all made us feel so welcome. The food is delicious - we could see our pastas cut just before serving (which is special and unique) and exactly as we requested. The portions are generous and the wines were great. The atmosphere is great - beautifully decorated with an energetic feel yet still easy to talk and hear just our table. We loved Maestro so much that we are now planning some private parties there. Maestro Pasta is a true gem!
We were in New York for two days and decided to visit this restaurant. Everything was very delicious. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was excellent. Even though we were a large group, everything was well organized and attentive. The owner personally took great care of us, which made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming, like home. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back.
My son and I walked into Maestro Pasta for a quick bite with no expectations and we were very pleasantly surprised when we were promptly seated at the bar and taken care of in a warm friendly atmosphere like we eat there every night. The surprise of this restaurant is that it is in a very touristy neighborhood, yet it has the feeling like a restaurant you could eat at regularly and always be satisfied/delighted with your food. We had such a nice experience. The menu was full of pleasant surprises and yummy choices. The service was friendly, available, pleasant, and proud of the beautiful food that they were making and serving. I look forward to going back and taking my GF, starting with the artichoke appetizer as a nice prelude to the homemade pasta.
Wow, these people really know how to cook! Dishes were amazing: we had the squid and scallion skewers (I'm stealing their recipe), the grilled cabbage (super interesting and different dish), the fish and chips (fish was already really good, but the chips were out of this world!), the rice with red prawns (probably the dish we liked the least, with the prawns slightly overcooked), and the sticky toffee pudding (thanks for serving it with heavy-cream! I'm sick of cheap vanilla ice cream ruining desserts!). Service was incredible: we didn't feel rushed at all, dishes came when they should, and we were recommended a really nice orange wine! And the restaurant doesn't smell like fried fish, LOL, even though they are constantly serving fish and chips. Whoever wrote that review has never been in an actual chippy...
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding Dining Experience From the moment we walked in, everything about this restaurant felt exceptional. The ambiance is elegant yet welcoming, striking the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, making us feel valued throughout the evening. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly crafted with the highest-quality ingredients. Every bite felt thoughtful and refined, and the menu offered a wonderful balance of creativity and classic excellence. Service was seamless without ever feeling intrusive, and the attention to detail—from the table setting to the pacing of the courses—was impeccable. This is the kind of place that turns a meal into a memorable experience. Highly recommended for special occasions or anyone looking to enjoy truly world-class cuisine. We will absolutely be returning.
Dame is a Village gem. It is a small, intimate restaurant that has some of the best seafood dishes I have eaten. The food is very fresh and prepared right there in the open kitchen. They are known for their Fish and Chips, very British style and yummy! The oysters were delicious (and I am not even a fan of oysters). Nice variety of drinks and an extensive wine list. The staff is very friendly, the maitre 'd even remembered me from a couple of weeks ago! It is a very small restaurant and very popular, so reservations is a must! But worth it! Dame is A+.
Had a truly special meal at Dame last night — a cozy, vibrant seafood spot with incredible flavors. The oysters were some of the best I've ever had, so good, in fact we couldn’t resist ordering more halfway through our meal. Order the squid skewers, fish & chips, and sticky toffee pudding. For the ultimate dining experience, sit at the counter and take it all in. Reservations can be tough to snag, but trust me, it’s absolutely worth the effort. Also the staff wishing us a happy anniversary made our night!
Ambiance (5/5): The space is so incredibly small which is why the reservations are so hard to get. We managed to get a reservation at 9:30pm! The space is tight but also quaint. Some seating by the chefs prep that overlooks the kitchen. Service (5/5): Service was on point throughout the meal. Our server provided us with some recommendations as well. Grilled Oysters (5/5): These were phenomenal, super flavorful, juicy! Get at least 2 per person. Chilled Scallops (5/5): The sauce is divine. The scallops are soft and complemented from the texture of the melons Fried Squash Blossoms (4/5): There was a nice crunch to the fried blossoms Tuna tartare (5/5): So much flavor in this but a tiny piece of bread. Skate cheeks (4/5): The breading was full of flavor and a hit of spice and sweet. Scottish Trout (5/5): The trout was so tender and juicy. Every one of the dishes was packed with different textures and flavor, providing a dynamic bite to each beautiful dish. Expect very small portions for what you’re paying for!
Overall a great experience. The fish & chips are fantastic, and the tomato sandwich with anchovies was a a close second. We sat at the counter so were able to interact with the kitchen staff, which is always a treat. It's amazing what they're able to do in such a small space. We had a later reselltvation, and the vibe - especially the soundtrack - was perfect for winding down the evening. We will be back.
Great seafood place and has a cozy and comfortable ambiance with yummy food that’s not too fancy or complicated. Would definitely come back for a date night or even just a simple treat myself dinner. Started off with the tuna tartare which was flavorful and on the crustiest bread. Fish was fresh and cut perfectly to size so it still had a good mouthfeel. Scallion and squid skewers were lemony and tender and a great bite (wish it was bigger)! Fish and chips were a classic we had to order and I must say they skimped a bit on the chips but the fish was flaky, buttery, and very crispy crunchy on the outside. Tartar sauce was great even if the portion was smaller (I wanted more sauce)!
Very cozy restaurant. Was seated at the counter space in front of the action. Everything was absolutely delicious. Probably some of the best oysters I’ve ever had. The squid and scallion skewers were inhaled before I could grab a photo. The timing and pacing was perfect, being in front of the chef has its perks . Would definitely recommend and return.
I had a really enjoyable meal at Dame. The dining area is super cozy and I remember being really impressed at how efficiently everything operates out of such a small space. Our orders came out very quickly, and our waiter checked in frequently (but not overly so - the correct amount). Aside from the great service and pleasant ambiance, the food was really fantastic. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu, but of course we had to try the fish and chips, and I'm really glad we did. The drinks were amazing too - with the hanky panky being the unanimous table favorite. For dessert we went with the sticky toffee pudding and I'm still thinking about it. I would definitely jump on any opportunity to try this place.
We had a great meal at Dame last night. We had a reservation and had to wait about 10 minutes for our table to be cleared. As a thank you for our patience the staff poured us glasses of their house wine, which was a lovely touch! We ordered a total of 8 dishes including bread and dessert. The bread was excellent, and the scallion and squid skewers were a stand out. The croquets were very good but we would skip the butter bean next time (I didn’t love that they were cold). The crab rice and fish and chips were also excellent. The grilled cabbage was our absolute favorite dish. Sticky toffee pudding was a great finish. Food and service were both excellent. The server recommended 7-9 dishes for a table of 3. It was a bit much for us, we were all very full. We were very impressed by their house red, which we ordered a bottle of. It is produced in partnership with Barbichette, who make incredible wines in the finger lakes.
Dame focuses on seafood, serving it in small plates, and it did not disappoint. The fish and chips were hands down the best I’ve ever had. Every other dish we ordered was equally delicious, and the dessert was a perfect ending to the meal. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I’ll definitely be coming back.
This place has become my recent favorite in New York. The scallop dish is the best I’ve tried—the combination with fruit and uni adds a delightful creamy, sweet, and tangy flavor. I also highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Although it looks traditional and might not seem impressive at first glance, it’s now my favorite dessert in New York. Its texture and sweetness are just perfect. The restaurant is small and intimate, with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, making it ideal for a special occasion. Reservations are recommended.
Maestro Pasta is such a cute place. Very small with moderately limited seating, but I was able to walk right in and get a table for 2 at 7pm on a Saturday with no wait. It was so neat to see the pasta being made right in front of you, and the atmosphere is so great. The service was amazing, VERY quick to deliver the meal and drinks, and very friendly. I got an espresso martini which was very delicious (just note, it is more on the expensive side, almost the same price as my meal) but it was amazing. Unfortunately, I felt like my food (Bolognese with fettuccine noodles) was lacking. The portion size was great, definitely MORE than enough food for me (enough for 2 meals), but the taste was not was I was expecting. It was quite bland and underwhelming compared to the environment. Overall, this was a good place to visit and I had a good experience, I just wish my food was a bit more flavorful.
We were hungry and thirsty while walking down this street, and decided to eat here. Definitely worth it. They hand made their pasta in front of our eyes, and the sauces were creamy, flavorful, and great portions as well. The place is small, but looked like you stepped into a little bit of Italy. Waiters were incredibly friendly and nice, and served with efficiency. Would come here again, definitely worth it.
Fried Artichoke hearts was a great starter and the garlic aioli was great. Tiramisu was surprisingly dry but not the worst, not enough coffee flavor. Tartufo with fettuccine was the best pasta dish, Anolini Pasticciati filling was flavorless but the sauce was good. Tartufo focaccia was super filling and tasted great but it was really heavy, I didn’t expect so much cheese and sauce. Atmosphere was amazing, food was good, service was all right.
I’d been really looking forward to trying Dame given all the hype around it. I love fish and chips, so I was excited to see how they’d handle it with their focus on elevated English seafood. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. The fish and chips were decent but nothing amazing—I’ve had better in the city—and the portion felt small for the price. I also tried the blowfish tails, which were nicely cooked but served in a sauce I didn’t really care for. Overall, not a bad meal, but definitely not one I’d go out of my way for again.
App was weak - maybe felt a bit low on the salt, not as flavorful as it could be (oysters, cured mackerel) - cucumber salad w smoked mussels was good tho Main was a hit - poached cod with chorizo was really good, perfectly cooked and flavorful. Fish and chips can’t go wrong but it was extra crispy and the fish was so soft and tasty. Oh, the drinks — the non-alcoholic vinegar shrub or something was amazing. Overall good but not the top of my list.
We dined 10/16 so this is a late review. 1 star for the food as the batter for the fish and chip was still raw and runny inside. It tasted like beer and raw dough. I know it wasn't the intended taste as we ordered 2 fish and chips and the other one came out fully cooked. The rest of the appetizers were interesting, but the fish and chip orders were our intended main, so we were super disappointed. Told the staff what happened and nothing was done in response.
