Tucked away at the end of 10th street, off west side highway, DejaVu whilst nestled in a precarious place offers intimacy and charm. Seclusion in an unlikely place, with a warm atmosphere. I'd recommend the lemon pasta with caviar or the prime lamb, suprise entertainment came along later in the night. A bohemian atmosphere mixed with greenwich village hush, A great new addition to the villages diverse culinary scene. Must visit.

I had an amazing experience, I went with my friends to the bar area which is really fancy and intimate, perfect for a private event. The service was really good and the food is a bit pricey but totally worth it. It is definitely an exclusive experience that you should try. Dress code is dressy-casual.

Without a doubt the best restaurant I have ever visited in my life. Incredible place; the dishes have a presence that invites the eye to taste without even touching the plate. When savoring the delicacies the chef prepares, you are transported to another world

Honestly, it's one of the best Mediterranean food restaurants I've tried! The meals come very well served and with a delicious flavor. Another thing, the attention of the servers and bar was very fast and along with the dance that the woman performed, a too good atmosphere was felt. Highly recommended if you want to celebrate birthdays!

To be fair, I can’t give fewer stars because we never actually got to order anything so I can’t speak accurately to the food or drink. But after waiting 20 mins in a line of other hopeful patrons for our reservation, our expectations were adjusted down after hearing a frustrated diner complain to the hostess that no one had taken their order in over 45 minutes. Once we were seated at a 4-top, the strangers we shared a table with explained how they too had been seated and waiting over 10 mins just for a menu. The table next to us had finished a round of drinks and still hadn’t ordered food. Had we seen a server sooner, we might’ve had less time to notice the cheap reno and Wayfair decor. We walked out with the most of the other diners. Botching one of the biggest dining nights out betrays a certain level of poor planning that’s hard to forgive.

We booked the tasting menu 5 of us . Barely a few bites of food for each of us . $225 and we still had to order 3 pasta mains since we were hungry . We got plenty of drinks but we needed food after 4 hours of being there . Músic and drinks were good . Food was good but so little it was unreasonable for the high price . Service was also a challenge . Had to wait long time for everything , little communication about what the menu was. As of the show, we saw one girl for 5 min. There was no stage like it looks on the website . Luckily we had a fun group and made the best of it, but would not recommend the tasting menu and show. We saw other tables with regular menu that looked nice and atmosphere was nice.

I’m not sure which restaurant many of the other reviewers visited. To be fair, we dined in the Desire Room and ordered the prix fixe menu, so I can’t comment on the à la carte offerings. The performance was the highlight of the evening—the performers were excellent. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. While the servers were friendly, it was clear they lacked proper training. The food was also a major disappointment. The low points included a beef carpaccio smothered in mayo, a dry pudding, and subpar cocktails that were just juice with a splash of tequila or vodka. The tuna and croquettes were acceptable, but overall the dining experience did not live up to expectations. Stay away.

The service at Dejavu last night was a complete train wreck, although it wasn't caused by lack of effort, but very poor management. After having a cocktail in the bar area we were seated in the dining room, where the atmosphere was buzzing. However the first sign something was off was us having to flag a waiter down after 10 to 15 minutes of sitting around. We ordered several appetizers and a main course each for four people. Within a reasonable amount of time three of the five appetizers came. Note that the portions are very small here. We asked about the other two appetizers and they apologized saying they would go get them. After another 10 minutes they somehow ran out of Caesar salad and delivered us burratta with frozen berries (clearly rushed to get items out of freezer). After another 10 minutes two orders of fries came (which we ordered one as a side to the meal). Repeatedly asked for ketchup, which was just a small blip of nothing coming back. Finally for the main courses only one came out! We told our friend to eat while we waited another 10 minutes. We flagged the waiter down and asked where the other dishes were. They had to retake our order and disappeared again. We waited and waited and eventually set a timer telling ourselves if it's more than another 15 we pull the ripcord. It went over the 15 and it took another 10 to try and get the bill. So we booked a table at Justine's down the street and had a normal service dinner later. I also feel bad for the birthday table next to us as they had worse issues and it was a birthday! Dejavu likely needs to reduce the tables until they can manage the room and service. It's totally broken.

Vibe: this is the only redeeming quality of this place. It’s relatively cozy inside. However, the bar area itself is the size of a postage stamp so to call this a ‘lounge’ would be a gross overstatement. Service: here’s where things quickly go downhill. The waiters were like scattered cockroaches. If you’re into experiential experiences, you can come here to enjoy the tables which wobbled so much so that you felt like you were eating on a cruise ship. Food: very average. Price certainly doesn’t match the quality. Overall, this is the kind of spot that leaves you impressed if you’re a young 20s bridge and tunneler who’s going out for the first time in the big city. Skip this, and go to dozens of other restaurants in the area that actually know what they’re doing.

Visited Dejavu for New Year’s Eve. We where told it was 307 per person, tax and tip included. They charged us double that amount. Besides this, the food was mediocre at best. We got a 5-course meal, each being a tiny bite. Worst plates where the burrrata and tuna tartare. The dessert was supposed to be a lava cake, and instead got a dry banana pudding with ice cream and blue berries (see picture). The pre-fixed menu included a pairing of cocktails and open bar. The cocktails where quite delayed and variable in quality. The fist round of cocktails was okay, the second round of cocktails came in hour later and there were prepared in a different way (and quite poorly). The overall experience was bad. Very packed room, a burlesque dancer that struggled to get around the room, and extremely slow and bad quality food. It seems the entire evening was improvised and the value for the cost was ridiculously high. To top it off, all our group is in disputes the get the extra charged money back.

Complete bait and switch. We specifically reserved the "Desire Room" for an intimate Valentine's Day dinner. Instead, we were dumped in a bright, plain room next to a vacant DJ booth. To make it worse, our "private" table for two was actually a shared four-top with strangers. We sat for 45 minutes without even receiving a drink menu. We left having wasted the better part of our evening. If you can’t honor reservations or manage basic service, stop taking bookings.

The reality of this experience doesn't align with how it's being marketed. Despite having a reservation, we waited 30 minutes in a packed entryway while tables were getting up and leaving mid-service. We were first seated in a room different from our reservation, and when my husband spoke up, we were told the Desire Room would require sharing a four-top with strangers. We chose the other room — only to have another party seated at our table anyway. None of this was disclosed for what was marketed as a romantic Valentine’s experience. Service never meaningfully materialized, and after nearly an hour, we left. For a heavily promoted holiday service, this felt like a clear breakdown in planning and guest management. If ownership is going to market premium Valentine’s experiences, the operation needs to be able to deliver the experience being sold. The Desire Room also felt far less luxe than depicted in the photos and press materials on their website.

Valentine’s Day was an absolute MESS. My fiance and I arrived for our 6PM reservation and we weren’t able to leave until close to 10PM due to slow service and some of the most atrocious issues we have ever encountered at a restaurant. To preface this review, this was supposed to be a pre-fixe dinner with an exclusive performance in an intimate, “deluxe” room separate from the main dining room, and was $500 total including $135 pp for food and the rest for performance + gratuity. This room seated around 10 other couples on 10 small tables, almost shoulder-to-shoulder. 1) The weirdness began the moment we walked into the restaurant - the hostess said my fiancé had called earlier and said we would be late; we were walking to the restaurant in that timeframe and he had not called anyone. Later we found out that it was another Asian couple that called ahead, with a completely different name. 2) Before we were seated, we were told we would only have 1.5 hours to eat, which also was not advertised; however, it took us nearly 2.5 hours to receive our entree. 3) Service was spotty and disconnected the entire night; we received 3 plates of the amuse bouche, watched as couples who arrived after us got their dinner before us, and bonded with the entire room of confused couples over how messy this was. It took 2 hours between the appetizer and entree, and another 2 hours between the entree and dessert - the fact that we were supposed to be put by 7:30 when we received our entree closer to 8:30 was laughable. Additionally, the menu was a complete scam - it lacked variety (the entree options were only 2 seafood dishes), everyone received the same exact dishes, and many couples left without receiving their entrees or desserts due to the slow service. 4) They tried to seat a couple right next to another couple on these TINY tables that could barely fit two people already; they rightfully spoke up because that’s not appropriate for a valentine’s day dinner, when they were promised an exclusive experience? Based on other reviews from last night, it seems this was a common issue. 5) The “performance” was - I’m not even exaggerating - 5 seconds long. Throughout the dinner, customers kept asking where the performers were - they didn’t arrive until around 8, which was way past the time we were allegedly limited to stay for. It was supposed to be an exclusive burlesque performance, and the two costumed dancers popped in for 5 seconds, sang 2 lines of some Italian aria, left, and didn't come back, even though we heard them in the other room - mind you, this was a $500 dinner INCLUDING a performance which we got 5 seconds of. Additionally, our room was supposed to be the “deluxe” experience with the performance, so the only reason the performers would have had to divide their time between the two rooms was because they had overbooked this experience and had to seat other couples who had booked this experience in the overflow room. 6) One of our servers quit in the middle of service - and we don’t think he was the only one. When I was in the bathroom (which was right next to the kitchen), I could clearly hear people screaming at each other in the kitchen and by the end of the night there was only one line cook left in the kitchen. 7) The manager finally came over after about 2 hours, and his response to the grievances was essentially along the lines of, “I don’t know why this is happening” and then blamed the servers, including the one that quit - even though the problems began way before the server quit. 8) A diner passed out in the other room because the heat was blasting. 9) The bathroom had fake Aesop soap - it was just regular Dawn soap in an Aesop bottle, which was symbolic of how the restaurant pretends to be an elite experience and is really just a disorganized sham. Shoutout to our waitress Milly, who really carried the night on her back and it was her FIRST DAY. I don’t have enough room to express the rest, but TLDR we will never come back - even 60% off the bill wasn’t enough to offset this insanity.

I am a very forgiving diner. This is my first 1-star review I've given a restaurant. Please read my review below in order to save yourself the experience. Upon being seated, our water was served in the wine glasses on the table. In a vacuum, this tiny gesture is tolerant, however, that act was a foreshadowing of the night to come. Only one menu on the table had descriptions of items. Our other dining companions quickly became confused by the menu sans any explanatory marker of the meal - what exactly is "Dejavu Pasta"? The restaurant also markets itself as "Mediterranean", however the entirety of the menu was a subpar collage of brasserie food - salad, fish, pasta, steak. In fact, the entire online presence of this restaurant reeks of ChatGPT 2.5 slop.... The table ordered a bottle of wine - one of two bottles on the menu. The Bordeaux that we ordered was "apparently" out of stock and instead, we were presented a different bottle. Sharply, one of our dining companions asked if the bottle would be a similar price to the one on the menu - thankfully, it was and it was the one bright spot of the night. The meal was the downward crescendo - lemon spaghetti with a light dusting of caviar, emphasis on "light", caesar salad that was dressed with what seemed to be simply, mayonnaise, and a mushroom main that was also dressed with a sauce of, you guessed it, mostly mayonnaise. A handful of other lowlights below: - The busser was dressed in a tank top and acid-washed blue jeans - The bathroom soap, Aesop, was most definitely Dial. I would have been _fine_ with Dial, but the sloppy cover-up was in poor taste.* - We were surprisingly given a 2-minute burlesque show where the dancer could barely move throughout the dining room - DJ equipment in the corner of the dining room with no DJ...actually, thank god there was no DJ that showed up *The bottle was flipped around as to hide the scent of the soap. The pink hand soap that exited the bottle top was definitely not "mistletoe leaf and fennel fruit"

Went for Valentine’s Day with reservations. Immediately met with a 20 minute line out the door to be seated. Multiple people complaining and leaving early. Finally get seated and it’s 1 water for a room of people already apologizing in advance. Over priced pre fix menu. Multiple couples to the right and left of us telling me that they’ve been here for 2 hours and just got the food. They are stuck & heavily advising not to even order as it’ll take 2 hours.

The absolute worst resturaunt experience I have had in NYC. Their management is EXTREMELY unorganized and staff are not trained. I had a 8:15 reservation and was stuck waiting by a cramped wall for 1 HOUR, the hostess literally forgot about us. I also specifically looked for an a la carte reservation, only to find it was a pre fix menu. They DID NOT advertise pre fix anywhere, it was literally a bait and switch. I spoke to FIVE people who left after they were seated because they did not expect the pre fixe (which was quite disappointing). I chose to suck it up and stay because I already invested an hour into the place. They have a lot of potential if they were truthful and organized but alas they are not. I felt for the staff who seemed like they were trying their best but were stressed and set up for failure. SHAME on the owners and whoever was the management.

My partner and I had a reservation for the desire room for months now and had been in great anticipation for a intimate, romantic valentine’s day dinner, but were met with a hoard of dismissive waitstaff, a lack of management and communication, and in the end, no dinner at all. Utterly disappointing and disgraceful. We arrived, met with a line of patrons waiting to even be addressed by the hostess, whom we only were able to speak to after spending about 35-40 minutes waiting within the bar area. The front room (appx 500 sqft) was FULL Of people waiting, with the line out the door and onto the street .. in the end, we were notified that the staff was working at half capacity due to multiple no call/no shows and had subsequently been left without ANY management as the owners and partners had gone completely silent amidst the confusion and frustration unfolding. Patrons leaving had informed us that they had waited 1+ hours for food to arrive, having spent 3+ hours in total for a meal that each and every one of the had described as ‘not worth it’ and that we should ‘save ourselves.’ This was by far the most unpleasant and unacceptable behaviour and experience from a restaurant on any day, much less on a day where additional capacity should have been accounted for. Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency.

Don’t be fooled by the promises of a great evening in the fake, paid-for 5-star reviews here. Strongly recommend you avoid. Details: $225 tasting menu with paired cocktails and a show. The tasting menu was three very small shared dishes, basically one bite each for a total of 3 bites of food for our entire meal. The show was a burlesque dancer who was performing when we came in, danced for about 2 minutes and then we never saw anything again for the entirety of our three hour show. By the time they brought the dessert we were all wondering if they forgot our meal?? We did get cocktails, and these were fine, then random drinks would show up at our table with no explanation, sometimes bottles of wine sometimes just another round of random cocktails. We ran into other groups outside while waiting for a taxi who had the same experience. The reviews are misleading and can be assumed they’re fake.

Last night, Dejavu truly delivered a disaster-class performance in ruining everyone’s Valentine’s Day dinner, and then doing absolutely nothing to make up for it. Where to begin: We arrived at 9PM for our reservation, and walked into a line of easily 20+ couples also waiting to be seated (the line literally out the door), and not a single hostess or waiter in sight. After about 25 minutes, a group of couples who were leaving began telling those of us still waiting to “save ourselves” as they had been there since 6PM, had to wait well over an hour in between courses, and that the service was atrocious. You would expect after putting down a ~$600 deposit for your meal, especially on Valentine’s Day, that there would at least be some transparency into what was going on, but the real kicker was that even after standing for almost an hour for our table, not once, did a single person ever come out and explain to all of us the situation. A hostess finally came out to the front and people began demanding to cancel their reservations to make sure they wouldn’t take our deposit (which suddenly felt very on brand for Dejavu), and to top it all off, she had the nerve to have an attitude to those of us who just wanted to get out of there. Of all days for a restaurant to have a total meltdown, Valentine’s Day was certainly not the one. We had these reservations for a month, and even travelled into the city just for this experience. The disrespect that all of us received last night was so outrageous it was almost comical in a way. If I had to give this one star to anything, it would be to the other couples who we shared this horrific experience with, and I hope you were able to find something better than this dim-lit, low-rent facade that we all unfortunately were sold on.

Caution to all potential diners: DO NOT book a reservation at this establishment. I booked a reservation through the Resy app and needed to cancel. Their cancellation policy states in order to avoid the cancellation fee you must cancel prior to 12:30pm the DAY OF the reservation. I cancelled the reservation well over 24 hours in advance, and they still charged me $250 !!!!! Resy claimed there was nothing they could do, and I contacted the restaurant via email, instagram, and then was given the runaround by 2 people you can only communicate with via WhatsApp. They claimed they would rectify the issue and never did. This has been going on for weeks at this point and they’re not going to get away with it. This place is scamming people and I would not risk their fraudulent charges to your credit card. They also have several fake reviews in order to look like a reputable business but they clearly are not. Stay away. UPDATE: I reached out via all available avenues to attempt to further correct this issue. After behaving as if they could assist with this issue they have blocked me on all forms of contact/social media because I’m trying to correct this issue and then posted honestly regarding their fraudulent business practices.

I almost never leave Google reviews, but I'm here to warn you not to waste your money at this restaurant. The dining room experience of this place was a sham - Manhattan date night prices for a poorly improvised menu and service. Our evening was pretty summed up by an early discovery in the restrooms: the Aesop soap bottles displayed for luxury vibes are clearly refilled with Dial soap. "West Village" location - it's on the West Side Highway. The dining room: white tablecloths, candlelight, and water served in wine glasses... but DJ equipment in the corner? Our server was lovely, dressed in a suit to signal the elevated dining experience we were about to receive, but then a woman bussing tables nearby was in light wash jeans and a tank top. The food was truly a rip-off. The Caesar salad dressing was basically just mayonnaise, the lemon caviar spaghetti was about 3 bites of noodles with half a thimble of caviar, the mushroom main course was a plate full of yum yum sauce topped with 6 mushrooms. The papardelle was barely sauced at all. 3 appetizers and 3 mains came to $172 before tip, but it was nowhere worth that. Wait, was this supposed to be Mediterranean food? We ordered one of the two bottles of red wine on the menu - a Bordeaux. It wasn't available, so the server presented an alternative Bordeaux. Same price? Fine, looks great. On the itemized receipt, they had just put in "Open Drink" and manually typed in the price to match the bottle I'd initially ordered. Could have simply been because the new bottle wasn't added to the POS yet, but after the rest of the experience, I just felt suspicious they gave us a cheaper bottle for the same price - unverified, so take this with a grain of salt. A burlesque dancer entered the packed dining room toward the end of the meal and attempted to squeeze between tables to put on a mini show with no stage. She was lovely, and sure, we're down for a surprise show, but it was really a strange addition to what they were trying to sell as a fancy dinner (this was in the main dining room, not the Desire room). All in all a strange and disappointing experience, I don't know what they're doing in the kitchen, but the prices on the menu absolutely do not reflect the quality of food they're serving. At least we got a good story out of it. Just go somewhere else for dinner.

This was the Fyre Festival of Valentine’s Day dinners. This place is a scam. First I’ll say that it seems most of the (positive) reviews on here are fake/bots. I know this because some positive reviews are from last night, and that’s simply not possible if you were actually there. My husband and I had a Valentine’s Day reservation and were greeted by a line in the restaurant and out of the door just to speak with the hostess. While in line, we started noticing multiple tables getting up and leaving before ever receiving any food. This is when we knew something was really wrong. After waiting about 25 minutes (past our reservation time) in line with other frustrated patrons, we were taken to a table in a different room than the one we booked. The room looked like it was shoddily put together like a pop-up with a cheap decor and bright lighting. Both water and champagne were served in wine glasses. Vibes were immediately off. All the couples in the room were swapping stories with other tables. Everyone’s talking about how they’ve been there for 1.5-2+ hours with no food and have barely spoken with a waiter at all. Table by table people were getting up to leave. And the weirdest part was the staff was being completely robotic and dismissive. No apology or acknowledgement of the problem. We didn’t see any evidence that the place even had food besides caviar and crackers. Not a single table around us was served anything besides that. But from other reviews I’ve seen from last night, the food wasn’t worth the hassle. We took the cue from everyone around us, left before ordering, and warned the others still in line. I’ll give 1 star for the funny memory this will give us.

Man in suit who was taking orders for us was so rude and not attentive. We waited 40 minutes to get drinks and an hour for food. We started realizing early on how bad the service was so the table had to order well in advance for our next drinks, which still didn’t even help. I was definitely not expecting the small cramped room either, but I think this place could have potential if some things were tweaked, but still overall disappointing. The biggest issue we faced is my boyfriend who has been sober from alcohol for almost half a year, was given an alcoholic drink. We told the server from the start we needed a mocktail for him, and throughout the night he got multiple mocktails completely fine right until the end. The last one he was served he took a sip and immediately knew it was wrong. I tasted it too and can tell it was alcoholic when I told the man in the suit he rushed back with the drink came back with a new one, so I asked that was alcohol right and brushed off the question not admitting to it. I can tell the taste of alcohol so I think it’s insane to dodge the issue and not apologize. This could have been very serious for people who were alcoholics because this could trigger relapses, it’s even bad for someone like my boyfriend who was just sober curious and ruined his progress over a careless mistake. I will say the standout of the night was the music, they booked a very good DJ.
