This is one of my favorite coffee shops in all the city 100% (favorite order there for drinks is the decaf iced latte with oat milk is so creamy with freshly ground coffee that is delicious. Food bonus is prime (hard worker breakfast and the biscuit sandwich with chorizo is 👌🙌) + WiFi for my work and study days!

It’s a wonderful place! Cool atmosphere and the staff was super friendly. If I am near north Central Park again, I will definitely visit Demitasse again!

Came here almost every day of my week long solo trip to New York two years ago and mentioned to the owner the first day that this was the best cold brew I have every tried (still true), and from then on he always made conversation with me and was super super friendly and curious every time, it made me feel so welcome and made me want to go back after. The food and vibe is also amazing, would highly recommend to everyone!! Hope I get to go back as I never got to say goodbye to the owner:)

*May2025 update* Now moved 1 block down and known as CALAVERAS CAFÉ, same offerings as Demitasse and taco shop downstairs by night. Very little seating upstairs in coffee area but great staff and pastries and coffee! *July 2020 update* Demitasse is still open for takeout during Phase 2 and I am thankful! They don’t have outdoor seating but you can order online or at the counter and then take your breakfast burrito to go. Highly recommend! *2017* Finally got to check out this little neighborhood spot (opened around summer 2017 I think), met Angel, and had one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve found in New York. Opens at 8am on weekdays for breakfast and I highly recommend it for pre-work breakfast and coffee- you can get an omelette breakfast or breakfast burrito with hash browns or a Colombian breakfast plate or other similar sized items for about $12-13, or smaller sized pastry type items. Also had a drip coffee and it was fantastic, but there are plenty more coffee/espresso options. There are probably 5-6 small high top tables for 2 and a small bar you can eat at, so I’d recommend it for solo eating or meeting up with one other person. Not super crowded on weekday mornings before 10am. Go try this spot and get a loyalty punch card because you’ll want to come back!

Walked in 15 minutes before the close for a quick snack. Had an oat milk latte and a french toast muffin. Both were very good. The service was polite and more than welcoming even though I walked in just prior to the close. They assured me I could take my time, but I did also want to respect their closing time. I left a few minutes before the close. Nice neighborhood shop.

Great little spot near Columbia and Central Park. Excellent coffees, good food (breakfast burritos, fruit and yogurt, avocado toast…) The service is really nice. It’s small but there’s a decent amount of seating.

Simply amazing. A boost of energy in every bite of this tasty Colombian food, it’s like I was traveling to the coasts off Cartagena after a brisk morning walk. I highly recommend going here with a group of friends and enjoying a sunny day afterwards!
