Honestly had a great experience eating here. I loved my sweet and sour chicken and pork fried rice, egg roll was crispy and tasty (not always a given), portion was great and price was very reasonable. Def will be back with friends! ***Def better than a John Wick movie***

Delicious food, cute interior, and reasonable prices. I tried the chicken Lo mein and general Tso’s tofu and highly recommend both. The tofu was deliciously fried on the outside yet silky on the inside, and not too oily. The chicken in the Lo mein was tender and the noodles and vegetables were cooked well. Definitely will go back to try out more items!

I’ll give it a five star because it knows what it wants to be it’s nothing fancy but it’s well priced Chinese takeout food that’s it. I would equate this meal to a John Wick movie. It’s not trying to be something that it’s not.

My son loves Chinese food. He said the lunch I got from Dragon 89 was amazing. Their pricing is very good: we got to have a soup, pork or vegetables fried rice, and a dish for under ten dollars. My son kept commenting that he thought the lunch was really good and it probably took the chefs a long time to prep. The staff were friendly and worked diligently there. My son loved their shrimp with mix vegetables, shrimp chow mein, chicken with string beans, beef with bean curd (it had mix vegetables too).

My husband brought me some food from this restaurant tonight, and it was everything I wanted and more. Everything was fresh and tasty. The vegetables were not soggy. They had the perfect balance of soft and crunchy, and the sauce ratio was perfection. I can't wait to try their other dishes.

I'm Chinese American and this is one of the best Chinese takeout places in the area!!! The chicken mei feng itself was nice -- very light, not oily, and fresh. But it had bits of pork in it. And I don't eat pork so it felt a little gross. But God bless the staff, they steamed the noodles for me when I wasn't well.

The food is cheap by NYC standards and is quite good. Highly recommend! Edit: the cold sesame noodles are not good at all. They tasted totally weird and had barely any sauce on them. Hope management fixes this.

Dragon 89 is take out. I ALWAYS leave a minimum TIP of $2. Consistently “there were NEVER any eating utensils. I questioned why not? The cashier/server responded “the OWNER days do NOT give ANYTHING!” Never have I ever experienced a Chinese restaurant w/such rules! Has anyone else experienced this foolishness?

I ordered a pick up over the phone. I asked for 2 steamed chicken and brocolli with the sauce on the side (one fried rice one brown). She asked what size. I said the lunch special. She asked small or large. Long and behold, I come home and do not see any wontons soups and a 3rd sauce on the side. I called and the manager said they do not do steamed chicken and brocolli for lunch specials, which is a lie because I’ve ordered this over Grubhub in the past and never had an issue. I let it go, but asked for the $2 refunded because I did not need 3 sauces. She said I had to go back into the store to return the sauce and get my $2! Overall - thanks for nothing. Not coming back

Give the food 2-1/2 stars. A cut above the average Chinese-takeout in the area, but many of the dishes are drowning in brown sauce, which means they're drowning in grease, despite Dragon89's claim that the cooking is low in oil. It may have been at first, but no longer.

Egg soup is terrible. We had the lunch menu - spicy shrimp (it had 3 shrimps and no spice) and the tofu with mixed vegetables (which was ok). The rice had no flavor. Everything packed jn plastic. Would not go back.

Tried to give this place a second chance and again was disgusted. Mu shu chicken was bland and flavorless. Couldn't pry pancakes apart. Lo mein was syrupy and slimy and also flavorless. Dont waste your money here. If you're looking for disgusting Chinese food, this is your place. I I can't believe there's not one decent Chinese restaurant on the UWS.

Ordered direct tonight. Food took 1 hour 10 minutes to arrive. Beef fried rice had yellow onion, beef and al dente rice. Very oily and bad taste. Sesame chicken had some watery dark sauce with a couple raw sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Vegetable fried rumblings had a gooey exterior and interior. Terribly disappointing.

Do not go to this restaurant. They’re completely rude and capable of taking care of a customer. I hope Everyone boycotts dragon 89. A very poor addition to the neighborhood

Will not be getting delivery from here ever again. For some reason my tip wasn’t added to my online order. The delivery man was an absolute maniac demanding a $7 (15%) tip for 2 block delivery. I ended up giving him $5 cash because he angrily followed me to my apartment door. Completely unprofessional and down right scary. I always tip, but a tip shouldn’t be demanded and you should not follow someone to their apartment like that.
