One of my favorite places to get a bagel in the UES. They have the best variety of cream cheese, the bagels are always fresh, prices are reasonable and the best part? The workers, they are so kind and happy.
the owner is so sweet and kind! the store can get hectic and have some delays but i feel like they try their best. i love the smoothies and salads here everything's fresh! :) <3
Stopped in for an egg sandwich. Really good! Quick and easy ording. The coffee wasn't bad either. If I'm working in the area again I will definitely stop in for another meal.
This is a great place to eat specially with the family, my wife and i loved the new look and the attention it was amazing i recommended to anybody specially in the weekend if looking for a good taste and fresh food this is the spot. Will definitely come back again great service the staff very attractive. Thank you guys 👍
Fast service good value cute tables and window stools to sit out . Lots of specials that include fries and drinks We will be back again .
Amazing breakfast eggs, the bagels are toasted perfectly, and the coffee is fresh and well roasted. I come here all the time. There are days where it can be crowded, but its always worth the wait for me.
This is a friendly neighborhood bagel spot with a classics. I’ve been going here since I was a kid and for the last 16 years each time I walked in the owner has been super welcoming. The everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, nova, tomatoes, and capers is a standout item. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is a refreshing addition to any meal. Overall, it’s a great spot for a quick tasty breakfast or lunch.
Love these dudes at this spot fr. Always nice, quick, and funny. Welcomed me back to NYC with the donuts/coffee combo. My thing. A local favorite near my place for sure. Love the layout. Chill to hang out with coffee and talk smack (shout-out to the older gentleman working his butt off). Pricey on somethings but standard on others. Good eats and vibes either way.
i love coming here in my mornings. service is always superb and they’re sweethearts. i love their drip coffee and iced coffee. their bagels and spreads are very well done. i highly recommend this place. if i could give this place above 5 stars, i would.
been coming here since i was a kid, please ignore these bad reviews, the owners are very generous and make really good sandwiches on the fly :) i highly recommend the place for people just trying to make a quick stop and getting a bite to eat. people have extremely high expectations for these small delis and it makes me upset. Get a bagel from them!! they’re great :)
While working from home I stop in almost every day. I get perhaps a toasted bagel w cream cheese , toasted roll with butter or even a few pastries like apple turnover or almond croissant, and sometimes a coffee which is really good. I rarely wait more than a few min which is awesome and the staff are very friendly. Might try a pancake or French toast special next time.
You can’t really complain about a place like this. A classic grab and go bagel shop, but options for seating. It’s a bit pricey, but the classic bagels with cream cheese are great.
What a beautiful experience and always enjoying all their breakfast and brunch specials. Food always cooked to perfection fresh and customer service is excellent, came across such a great spot! 5 stars 10/10 would recommend
Wandered into this spot on my walk and it did not disappoint! The bagels were EXCELLENT! Fresh and crisp on the outside while nice and fluffy on the inside. The perfect amount of cream cheese (a lot). The guys behind the counter were super nice and the service was friendly. Ate my bagel by the windo, watching the world not come in for these bagels. Also, food is halal if anyone is looking for a spot!
Tofu Cream Cheese is vegan and absolutely incredible!! Have tried it on everything bagel and poppy seed bagel - 100% happy both times! They also have a couple flavors of tofu cream cheese: vegetable and scallion. Haven't personally tried them yet, but heard they were amazing from a reliable source.
The food is fresh and the ambience is nice. I enjoyed my Chicken Quesadilla. The staff is friendly, service is fast, and the place is clean. They have HALAL food which is a welcome relief in this part of town where HALAL options are limited. I highly recommend it.
I keep coming back to the store. I had a tropical smoothie today, which is a combination of mango, papaya, banana, orange, grape, and guava juice, and it tastes so good. Now, they also have halal and gluten-free options on their menu!"
Great food, friendly staff, nice ambience. They also have a HALAL menu and gluten-free options. I would highly recommend.
the cream cheese is nice and fresh, and the coffee is beautifully roasted. i go here every morning. i either go for the bacon egg and cheese, or nova slice / tuna salad. they also make awesome smoothies and salads. I love it, no complaints.
So, I tried East Side Bagel's Kale Turmeric Juice – yeah, you heard right. At first, I was like, "Am I turning into a health guru or what?" But dang, that stuff's legit! It's like a sip of New York busy life mixed with all this green, spicy goodness that makes you feel like you're winning, even if you skipped the gym.

Great place we had chicken quesadilla really amazing. Reshat was really really nice and made this very pleasant. Everyone should come here.
the bagels are really good here. kind staff quick delivery
I ordered the pancakes with sausage and eggs and it was exceptionally good. A noticeable step above standard NYC deli food. The pancakes were so light and spongy, sausage had incredible deep flavor (they are thin circular sausages) with a bit of spice but not greasy at all. Sunnyside eggs were cooked perfectly. Smoothie was the best smoothie I've had in NYC. Haven't tried the bagels yet but the breakfast special and smoothies are on point.
We order regularly with large orders for multiple sites for WeWork/Amazon. We LOVE the bagels, the organization, the communication. Always happy to work with them!

The Good: - Amazing bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, probably the best I've had - Great tuna salad for bagel The Not So Good: - The aforementioned tuna salad, in its low fat variety, seems just as fatty as the regular tuna salad as they probably overload it with 2x the low fat mayo - They run out of everything bagels once in a while - The single cashier line gets backed up often because the credit card machine is pretty slow The Confusing: - They charge you extra for lettuce and tomato and will try to up-charge you for it every time you go even if you're a regular and clearly say no every time - it's a bit annoying, especially since their sandwiches are not necessarily cheap to start My Personal Gripe: - They have Red Bull in both regular and zero sugar, but no low / zero sugar Monster Energy
The staff are very sweet and polite. They have a nice selection of bagels and spreads to chose from. Other selections from salads to specialty sandwiches, soups, house coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. Overall its a great place to work on papers, plug in some head phone and zone out while enjoying coffee and a bagel.
I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese on an everything bagel. It was $8.66. This place is a deli, so the cheddar cheese was freshly sliced. It wasn’t life changing, but it hit the spot, and it wasn’t bad for the price. The service was fine, and it didn’t take long to get my order.

Gotta give them credit for whipping up a fresh Western omelette and a delicious bacon 'n' egg on an everything bagel for us. The place is small with super comfy leather chairs and small tables where you bring your takeout containers. Very clean and friendly and well priced. Not super gourmet but a cozy neighborhood joint.

A pretty good bagel place, mostly my default because it’s close. The bagels are smaller than usual but they pack a lot of whatever you get onto it so hard to complain. Service can be slow but I go on days when I’m not in a rush.
You can find classic NYC bagels here: large, chewy, in all varieties. But it’s more of a “grab-and-go” bagel shop; counter service could be friendlier and more polite.

The food is okay, the bagels are really good but the chefs touch your food with there bare hands sometimes. This is exactly how germs are spread and people get sick. Overall 3 stars
Good sized bagels. Their everything bagel didn't have tons of flavor though. Large deli counter menu with smoothies. Often not open and ready in the morning (bc they order their bagels in as opposed to making their own) which makes it an unreliable go to spot for me. In addition, when I have arrived there around 6:05-20 and they're not open or ready I only receive attitude and am told "that's unfortunate."
Honestly so disappointing- ordered a Chicken Cesar wrap for lunch and it tastes nothing like one would expect considering a chicken Cesar wrap is usually a safe choice. But nope. They added tomatoes, pickles and other veggies that weren’t listed on the menu. I’ve ordered from here before and their BEC bagel is decent but this just turned me off from coming back. Plus overpriced compared to my usual spot. Such a let down.
No one else was in the store when I got a bagel with scal cream cheese, per usual ordering and chatting with the guy by the bagels. Once I said what I wanted he walked us over so I could pay (and tip which I did not) the $6, and then he went back to make the bagel--an atypical order of events. Upon eating the bagel I see the skimpiest amount of cream cheese. Not a great experience.
The food here is great, but it is severely overpriced and service can be pretty slow. The menu is outdated and doesn’t provide price transparency - so you get rung up and realize you’re overpaying after your sandwich is made.

The management and staff at East Side Bagel are rude, arrogant and incredibly disrespectful. Shouting abuse at customers is never acceptable. Until they go out of business, avoid East Side Bagel. There are plenty of better options in the neighborhood.
Went here early Saturday morning, got a smoked salmon cream cheese bagel for $6.25. Bagel was hard, cream cheese was not fresh and the service was sub-par. I would avoid this place and check out the other bagel places in the neighborhood.
The guy name opu(the manager) gave me a RAW bacon egg and cheese. When I told him about it he simply brushed it off. Now I have been eating bacon egg and cheese for years now since I was little. I know how it should look, smell, feel and taste. It was gummy and white. He then proceeds to say “youre only complaining because of the price”... and was basically racially profiling me. Thinking because of the color of my skin, I must not have money which is sad because he is dark too. DO NOT COME HERE .. I REPEAT DO NOT COME HERE. They don’t care and the owner definitely does not care.
I dont know why I keep trying to go here. Prices are crazy high and they never get the order correct and the food is very average. Not recommended. At all. There are tons of other bagel and breakfast places in the area.
Worst bagel spot in our area by far! Overpriced, rude & rushed staff, and worst of all...crappy food!! Take your business elsewhere. I've always disliked this place being a native on the block for over 30 years but today was the last straw. (It should have been the day they charged me $2 for a SLIVER of avocado on my breakfast sandwich. Ugh! Lesson learned!)
I purchased a Too Good to Go bag from them. After walking 20 mins out of my way to get there, I showed up a little bit after the pick up window. The guy at the register was extremely rude and basically told me that it was too late and to get out. I have never experienced this at any other place. After paying for a bag, I left with nothing but a terrible experience. Don't go here - pick one of the many other bagel shops. They're not very nice.
Worse place ever to buy bagels!!! They save the old bagels and wrap them in plastic and put them in the front of the fresh ones so that the workers know to get rid of the old ones first. Mice droppings all behind the counter, roaches in the ice box, they exploit there workers because they know they're not documented. I couldn't bare the stench from the other workers who just refused to use deodorant or toothpaste. If i can smell your breath thru your mask while taking orders that's a huge concern for me. I noticed a roach in an ice coffee and the man owner had the nerves to tell me to scoop it out with a spoon and that's when I just couldn't any more and left. Please be aware and check your ice coffee. This is not what it use to be 20 years ago. I just couldn't serve Jesus AND infested coffee in my community. Picking up my cross daily does not mean I need to pick up eggs from the floor and put them back in the bagels all in the name of saving money🤦 God is good, now I'm helping save others from a terrible experience.
Food is fair… the nastiest people work here. I think they hate Americans. I ordered buttered cinnamon raisin bagel and got a sesame. Ordered light coffee no sugar… well it came with sugar. They need a course in English
I ordered the Mediterranean salad and the guy says he doesn't know how to make it (???) so maybe they need to actually TRAIN their employees. What's the point of having it on the menu if you can't order it. So then I ordered the Greek salad and he doesn't even make it right (missed a few ingredients from the list). First and last time coming here.
The one STAR WAS so I could review…The worker behind the counter refused to put on gloves before handling my food, after asking him to put on gloves he went into his wallet to show me his health license, still ignoring the fact I asked him to place on gloves while handling my bagels. He was in his wallet, handling money all with bare hands then proceeded to cut and prepare my bagels. His attitude was horrible and he displayed no customer service. I advise you guys to give your staff the proper training for food handling
Rude Rude Rude. They always get the order wrong and then are mad at you. Never I’m sorry. I stopped coming here for the past 2 years because of the rudeness. I walk further from my place and pass this place because of what horrible people work here. They haven’t changed. They got the order wrong. An everything bagel with Scallion cream cheese. I know such a complicated order. And the owner/manager prepared it. No wonder his employees screw up too. The fish rots from the head.
Most exspensive bagel / deli I have ever been to. Ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich and they charged me for lettuce and cheese. Didn't come with the sandwich. I paid 16$ the sandwich and a can of soda. If your looking to get ripped off then yes come to this place. I will never ever again come back here. Way over priced!!!!
Me and my brother have been eating here for years but past year or so quality has dropped drastically, check out this 9 dollar sausage egg and cheese. Their bagels are awful compared to Kossars or the one on 2nd ave. I am very disappointed because they used to be quality but now they are less than mid.
Bagels weren’t very good. The everything bagel needed more seasoning and the strawberry cream cheese was nasty. Go to another bagel spot nearby.
