Best iced latte I've had so far. They have newspapers for you to peruse while you sip on your delicious drink on their bench outside.
Delicious quality coffee with friendly experienced baristas. Buy a bag of their beans and they'll give you any drink from the menu free!
Best coffee in the neighborhood! But it’s just for grab’n’go. The place is tiny so don’t expect to sit and work there.
Cozy coffee shop, with a welcoming vibe from friendly staff. Sometimes there can be a line, but worth it for the great tasting coffee.
Excellent coffee. Welcoming environment. Lovely vibe. I enjoy sitting on the stools sipping coffee on the sidewalk.
Great coffee! Typically a line on weekend mornings but moves pretty quickly.
It's a lovely local neighborhood coffee spot for the upper east siders. However, I want to give you a fair warning that there isn't much indoor seating available since it's a relatively small shop.
My favorite morning place. Great coffee, great staff. I wish they would ban strollers, the place is 15 x 25 for goodness sake. Also hotter lattes would be nice.
Fantastic coffee!! All the staff are wonderful and more than happy to share coffee knowledge. Plus if you buy a bag of beans (or grounds) you get a free drink!
An amazing coffee shop with a friendly staff! The best cold brew I have had in the city!
One of my favorite coffee spot in the UES. Good coffee, nice service and sells beans by the bag and will grind for you if you wish. Small but just for a quick pick up.
It's our go to place for coffee. Friendly staff and don't forget the free cup with purchase of a bag of beans. We often order online as well the 5lb bag of the seasonal bean the huntsman. It's our favorite!
Love the coffee!! Just wish the shop was bigger so there was more room to sit.
Amazing service, cute area to sit, highly knowledgeable employees about coffee. The best I've had on the upper east side.
Delicious neigborhood coffee spot
The small little coffee shop packs a punch when it comes to its coffee! The staff is always so friendly and the coffee never disappoints. 10/10
Hidden gem in UES! Sipping a latte on Sundays here has been my go-to routine for a much needed break :)
My favorite coffee on the UES and the cold brew is the best I’ve found in the city. Always super friendly too.
Great coffee shop on UES. Neighborhood stand out for coffee and beans! Super friendly staff too
Great coffee! They have pretty much no seating so don't expect to bring your laptop.
The Baristas are really great and friendly. They know their customers well, I especially enjoy the company of Sydney!
I’m a coffee nerd, espresso is something I take seriously and Oslo is great cause they also take the coffee they serve seriously!
Small space but arguably the best coffee in NYC. I always buy a lb. of beans to take home , too (Try the Golden Tree)
The best coffee around and wonderful, personalized service. The muffins are outstanding!
Love this place and come quite frequently. There is not bathroom or seating, so its a take away coffee place. Highly recommend for coffee!!
What an awesome little coffee shop. They roast their own coffee and get deliveries on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They have the coolest Preso machine I’ve ever seen great selection of coffee, beans, drinks, and pastries. Highly recommended!
Oslo has to be one of my favorite coffee shops in the city. I love the coffee and the people that work here, I walk in and I am flooded with happiness from the smell of coffee and the atmosphere in general. I highly recommend it.
This is one of the best coffee shops ever. The coffee is simply good and the baristas are beautiful, warm, and friendly. It's definitely worth a visit, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are trying to sit down and work remote. I'd recommend it to someone who just wants to quickly get some awesome coffee.
After much research and countless average cups of coffee, I have finally found the best coffee on the UES in Oslo. Consistently great, never burnt. Staff always has the nicest, most pleasant, welcoming vibe. Good cookies too when they have them!
My fave local coffee spot. Never had a bad drink or experience there. Friendly and helpful baristas. Great beans for home brewing. Tucked away on 75th far enough away from the noise of 1st ave. Seating is lacking but they do have some outdoor tables.
This is my favorite cafe in the area with good quality, strong coffee. The staff is always friendly and there’s never a huge wait. They also provide non dairy milk like oat milk without an additional charge, which I appreciate.
this place owns a piece of my heart, and it will own a piece of yours too if you come back enough. the team that works there are all such interesting, funny and caring people, and they make that coffee machine sing. all the other shops in the area, yea yea yea they sell coffee too, but Oslo is what I look forward to every morning. what's not to love?
My favorite coffee shop! Everyone who works here is so nice, the coffee is delicious, I love their espresso blend to make at home. Excellent atmosphere
Best coffee on the upper East side… flavor is insane! Service is always so great also & baristas are so friendly :)
Without question, the best coffee in the neighborhood (and some pretty damn good pastries, too). Downside is that it's very tiny (seats about 3-4 inside), though benches outside add a few more spots in nice weather.
With the closure of my favorite neighborhood coffee shop, Sugar Loaf Cafe, I had the good fortune of being introduced to Oslo within a few days. Delicious Brooklyn roasted beans in a small, no frills shop on a quiet street a couple blocks from the Sugar Loaf location. Not necessarily the kind of coffee shop where you'd sit and work on your screenplay or discuss plagiarism in the digital age with other philosopher autodidacts, but certainly a place where you can find a very well crafted espresso drink. It really was a top flight latte. The barista even tried to do latte art. I'm sure she'll get better with time - it *almost* looked like a flower. The new best coffee in the neighborhood crown goes to Oslo Coffee Roasters. RIP Sugar Loaf.
They make great cappuccino! I had 30 minutes to kill today and I was very excited to find this coffee place! It's in a pretty quite street in UES. The service was excellent. Five stars for the barista today!
I don't love coffee but I love getting a latte from here on a Saturday morning. You can also buy growlers of iced coffee and beans and get a free drink when you do! Be careful of all the strollers that tend to park outside.
Great espresso, plus free coffee with purchase of beans. Place is super small, so don't expect cozy seating. But coffee is really great, and that's the most important part of the coffee shop.
Best coffee and great people! I'm here every day. Is the coffee good because of great quality beans or is it simply because the baristas are relaxed/comfortable about their jobs?
Tiny little hidden gem of a coffeeshop on an Upper East Side side street. Great coffee and a nice vibe. They have a little bench inside to sit and enjoy fine mornings. One of my favorite coffee spots in the neighborhood.
After visiting every coffee shop on the UES, Oslo Coffee wins the award for serving the BEST latte in the neighborhood! If you haven't yet tried Oslo's coffee, buckle your seat belt, you're in for a treat. The only problem? After visiting Oslo, you too may be ruined, and any other coffee can't hold a candle to what Oslo serves.
A small hipster-like coffee place. Went here on several occasions. Coffee tastes great. Bit on the higher price range. The coffee menu seems bit basic, but then whatever you choose, you'll get a good-quality beverage.
UES gem I’ve been a customer almost as long as it’s been here. If you’re looking for actual great coffee come here. One of the few places that will actually let you use your own to go mug. There is/was a kid drink like kid-ccino- can’t recall now if it’s still on the menu. They also recently started selling at least 1 vegan baked good. Coffee has and continues to be quality- was great when I first started off as a young professional, even better as I’ve aged and can bring my kiddo in with me.
Best coffee I have had in NY. Authentic. Unlike the franchises, this place is simple but really good.
A very unique tasteful experience! Being world traveled connoisseur of coffee, this coffee really ranks in one of my top 10! Even better than a coffee is the staff and the personality they exude as they serve up some of the most amazing brew you’ll get on theis side of Manhattan!!!
First time at Oslo Coffee and wow—the best coffee I’ve tasted so far, my new #1
Oslo makes the best lattes and the baristas are so friendly. The vibe in the shop is really nice and relaxing as well. Awesome coffee shop, definitely recommend if you are living in or visiting this area of NYC!
This is my favorite coffee spot on the Upper East side. I grab a good quality cup of coffee on my way to work once in a while. Oslo coffee has a very distinctive taste so I think I could tell it apart from other coffee roasters. The shop is very small it has only one person working there at the time. So if you are in a rush make sure you have enough time to wait. Sometimes I get lucky and get my coffee without the line.
Baristas are always kind and such a great vibe inside :)
A little out of my way but worth it. Best espresso on the (far) East Side!
Cute little coffee shop, with friendly staff and delicious coffee. My favorite is their cold brew. The place is tiny, and if you come during the busy time in the morning, there could be a decent-sized line, about 5-8 people deep. At times, the line is out the door, and you’ll have to wait outside before going in.
Coffee and baristas are the BEST in NYC. I go extra lengths to be sure I have time to stop there every time I’m in New York!! It’s cozy, friendly, quick, fun and the coffee is perfect every time! Missed Jill one of our favorite baristas on our last trip but the person working was delightful and a pro. Look forward to my next visit!!
one of the best iced vanilla lattes i've had in the neighborhood. there's nowhere to sit, service can be a bit slow and there will be a fairly large line on any weekday morning, but it's worth it for the quality. take it from someone who has had several bad iced lattes in the neighborhood
You're immediately hit with a rich, robust aroma of cafe when you walk in. Little order counter and cappuccino machine, self help cream/sugar/to go shelf and then a corner booth with a few scattered chairs outside. Idk what look they're going for but I enjoyed their cortado and friendly customer service!
Really liked their macchiato, it was so smooth! And they provided some daily newspapers on the table like nytimes. We ended up spending more time than we expected (I am a heavy newspaper reader lol while my gf was busying with chatting with other customers). If you want to start a refreshing weekend day, I think it will be a good place to visit
There's a reason I walk 10 blocks past a million other coffee shops to OSLO (clarification: upper east side, not Norway). It's because the coffee is outstanding and there's certain tiny coffee shop charm that I love. That said, it is very tiny, but that's usually not a problem. It does sometimes get a little crowded in there, but again, people are there because it's fantastic. They also have baked goods from NYC bakeries available, so if you're feeling a little hungry with that coffee you're in good hands.
Good cup of coffee if you need to break away from the Starbucks monotony. This is a pretty small shop and they often are busy.
Love the cappuccinos and lattes from here. Expand the seating area, Olso!! So we can sit and chill for hours drinking your coffee!
The service was great! And the coffee was tasty. Wish there was a heater for outdoor seating.
House roast has dark chocolate sweetness and crema pulled from a vintage espresso machine. One of the best cups in the city but lack of indoor seating or accompanying food may not make this for everyone.
This place does the best coffee I have had at New York☕️ if you want a simple no frills quality coffee, check this place out!
It's pretty much coffee and that's it. Not too much else by way of pastries, bagels, sandwiches or snacks. It's good if you live near by. Would I go running out of the way for it? Probably not. Would I personally be back considering I live so close. The answer is yes.
Good cup of coffee in a nice little spot in UES. A bit disappointed they don't do pour overs. Limited pastry selection but you go there for the coffee anyways
This is my second time getting coffee from this place and because it was really good. I got an iced macchiato and when I added the amount of milk that I wanted because it was a small pull of the espresso. I asked the lady for some more ice and she gave me an attitude and said it’s starting to look like an iced latte maybe you should get that next time and her tone was rather rude and I feel that could’ve have been said in a different manner. Definitely didn’t order that with my coffee. I hate leaving these reviews but that’s why this is 4 stars. Customer service isn’t easy I get it but don’t take it out on the customer if you are having a bad day.
If you are looking for good quality coffee from a small scale outfit with a soul this place is for you. Some outdoor seating is available. You could also grab a small bite here. So grab an espresso based drink on the way to John Jay park or treat yourself after a swim in the public pool there. Try this at home and get their Coffee beans too.
It’s good coffee at times. It really depends on whose making it. Always seems to be the wrong person when I go. The mocha I had this morning was mediocre. I have had better at this place but it was by a different person.
The blonde barista was rude and irritable today when I asked her to add milk to my coffee. Why not just ask before preparing the beverage like everyone else? Then another time she seems annoyed I was waiting outside prior to them opening. Its a shame because normally the people that work at oslo are amazing.
Tiny place, coffee tasted burnt.
Good coffee and very friendly service, just wish there was more seating indoors
A tiny coffee counter with a hipsterish ambiance. Good coffee and kinda "what's up bro" style service which is not bad but not the greatest either.
The atmosphere is welcoming, coffee tasted amazing and the customer service was very good. They had a clipping of the days horoscope
Specialty coffee at its finest. No whistles or flairs just incredibly well-dialed in bran with expertly-steamed milk. I get a skin flat white and the barista, who ever it may be on that given day, knows not to scorch the milk which is a huge deal for a quick drink like a flat white. This place is a cute little hole in the wall with a bit of outdoor seating available. Lots of dog owners in the area walk their dogs and I happened to snag a pic of a friendly one on a morning I was there catching up with a friend!
Barista polite but not too friendly. Cosy place but poor seating. Coffee rather average. Better than Starbucks but not spectacular. Their hours are convenient for a quick cup to work
The barista was very nice, but my coffee was not good at all. I ordered a mocha, and it tasted like burnt coffee.
I used to love going to this spot when dog sitting for a sweet senior mutt in the neighborhood - and they loved her too! They even used to give out dog treats. But today we were not allowed in because she’s not a service dog. That said, the coffee is still great!
Great latte but the barista keeps making me feel bad for bringing my 10 lb yorkie when I’m just ordering 1 latte to go. Won’t be coming back to this location.
Really good coffee, but be prepared to wait 20-30 minutes for a cup. Either there is a long line, or the baristas are chatting with their regulars, building up a line. Come here if you have nothing else to do for your morning, best avoid if you are busy.
The coffee is quite good and tasty, the interior is also interesting, but the waiter was very rude and unfriendly.
Some of the worst cafe service I’ve had - the barista seemed upset I interrupted her texting on her phone and was very standoffish. The muffin was dry and pretty flavorless, and the coffee was meh
My friend and I stopped by to get a latte. There was a line to the door, and the employee at the register was too busy talking/flirting with a customer who's already had his coffee the whole time as we all waited in line and watch their interaction. I don't usually write reviews like this, but honestly I don't think I'll ever come back just to cringe at 2 people flirting.
The barista can be abrupt if you’re not a local. Funny when people pick up what they think is a New York attitude on purpose. Coffee is ok. Vegan carrot muffin was good.
I spent $9.50 on a triple shot iced latte, but it was clear the shots were missing—the drink was basically just milk. When I brought it up, the blonde barista insisted it was correct instead of listening showed me attitude . Thankfully, another barista stepped in and fixed it. Disappointed, though—if you’re making coffee all day, you should be able to tell the difference between one shot and three. Not worth the hassle at that price.
Rude blond short hair barista girl on UES location! Embarrassing for Oslo. You should think to hire someone else
Today was my 4th time coming here been working on the area for 2.5 years and the customer service here is not good. They are not polite at all I’m just done there’s better cafes around with amazing service. They need to hired better baristas. Gave this place a 4th try and today they did it for me . And is so sad because the coffee smells and taste delicious.
