Opinions de Tabata Noodle Restaurant New York
I used to work in the area, and this was one of my favorite spots. I came back today just for the ramen, because I’ve tried to find another one as good as this and haven’t been successful. I usually get the edamame and any of the ramen options, and they’re always amazing. It’s a hidden gem on the UES — you should definitely check it out!
Love Tabata! I use to go to their previous locations for years. My fav is their Sutamina Ramen! You just cant get this ramen anywhere else. This is the best place to get authentic Japanese Ramen. Also their hospitality has always been top tier. This new location is beautiful and the food is great as always. I can't wait to pass by again.
I would definitely recommend this place, they’re all so nice and very attentive! 10/10
Great ramen spot! This place has some super tasty and well made food for pretty reasonable prices. We’ll definitely return. - Tan Tan Men was extremely good, 5/5 easily! Very good broth flavor. Toppings and noodles had great portions. I’d say this this the thing to get your first time here 100%. - Teriyaki set was also good, solid 4/5. Well rounded dinner plate. - The waiter was very attentive and provided phenomenal advise on what to get based on preferences shared.
Came here for ramen on a very cold night, we wound up getting the takoyaki and veggie tempura which were both delicious, and I had the tan tan men ramen and it was perfect! The service was beyond excellent, and whoever chose the music playlist deserves a raise! Can’t wait to come back.
Amazing spot! My boyfriend had their award winning chicken broth tan tan ramen and it was the best ever! We had the katsu curry, perfect warm meal and large portion! The owner even gave us glasses of wine for Christmas! The nicest staff, great food, cozy spot on the upper east side!
Ambiance (5/5): (I think some of the vibe pictures are outdated as there is no longer a bar seating that overlooks the kitchen) It is a cozy atmosphere with the wooden wall panels and brick. The space was fairly open. Service (5/5): It was not very busy during the lunch hours so we were serviced quickly and often. Food: There was a couple of seasonal specials posted on the wall. Chicken Bun (5/5): The chicken came out piping hot with a classic chicken katsu breading that was flakey and seasoned wonderfully. The soft buns with the creamy sauce was very very good! Lava Men (5/5): There was a lot of flavor and depth to the broth. The charsiu pork pieces were perfect, a great thickness with fat to meat ratio that gave it a juicy bite. Note the soft boiled egg was actually poached and not boiled whole Tan Tan Men (5/5) (award winning): The broth was very creamy and the noodles were perfection—chewy and thick. The chicken chunks were tender as well (Although I wish I had charsiu instead or ground pork in it). Ever so slight preference for the spicy tonkotsu ramen.
Must have! Very delicious, authentic Japanese ramen in UES! We tried the grilled chicken and skirt steak skewers for appetizers. For ramen we got Gyuu beef ramen on beef broth and Tan Tan Men on sesame chicken broth. Staff was great! Yuki, especially, was so friendly, welcoming and informative! The late owner had 150 ramen spots in Japan and 5 in the US. This place has been around NYC for 17 years now (same chef)!
Tabatan Ramen was an amazing experience from start to finish. The curry ramen was absolutely delicious. rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The service was wonderful, thanks to the two sweet ladies who made the meal feel so welcoming. It’s definitely a place where you’ll want to sit down, relax, and enjoy the cozy atmosphere.
My family and I stumbled in here the other night not realizing they were closing in 30 minutes. They still sat us down and got our food out pretty quick. Not only was the service amazing, but the food was so freaking good. I’m still thinking about the pork katsu curry and my apple saketini. The pork was cooked perfectly and was so juicy, along with the very flavorful curry. My sister and cousin both ordered the BBQ beef short ribs and left no crumbs. We also tried the spicy miso ramen, which was super yummy and filling. I highly recommend their fun drinks, like the apple saketini, strawberry saketini, lychee sake, and the yuzu sake. This is a great spot to go out with your family and friends, or even for a night out. I don’t even care that I’m based in Queens, I will come out of my way for this place. I swear I am not exaggerating it! Everything was sooooo good!!!
So happy to find this place since the other location wasn't available! I actually cried because I loved the ramen there but now no more sad tears. I can finally slurp noodles and drink that amazing yuzu soda in peace. The food’s amazing as it always has been. The tonkotsu ramen was perfectly filling and the karaage was very good, especially since it was first time eating it. The staff were lovely and accommodating, made my bestie and I feel very welcomed. Plus, there was no wait to be seated. Just walked in and were instantly ushered to a table and offered water with menus. Absolutely will be coming back no doubt about it. Hopefully, I’ll learn how to use chopsticks by then, who knows?
This Ramen place is awesome. Delicious soup ,noodles never overcooked and always hot and fresh. Gyoza Dumplings are incredible, also the Chicken Yaki Tori amazing. Staff always very friendly and accommodating. Also reasonably priced you get a real bang for your buck here. We will be going back
This is a casual and relaxing Japanese restaurant with very fresh and impressive food and cocktails. Excellent size servings, lovely Service and soothing music. I had the best organic salmon with lots of sautéed onions, broccoli and carrots in a teriyaki sauce that was delicious. The salad was a nice fresh serving. My friends were very happy. I will definitely come back! The food is excellent!

Had a great authentic Japanese curry here. The design is cool as well and looks like a place I have been to in Kyoto. Reasonably priced as well and they have Sapporo beer.

Stumbled here after a picnic in Central Park and saw this place had a variety of food options. We tried their Yellowtail Sashimi special which comes in a ponzu sauce so that was easily amazing. For entrees we had the Tabata ramen and Pork Katsu Curry. The ramen was super unique to me with a coconut based chicken broth, which kinda gives it a creamy light flavor that was made even more enjoyable with the hints of spicy across. The katsu curry was cooked well, tasted great, and came with pickled daikon which makes it so much better. I think this would be a 5/5 if they also had some lettuce along with some pickled jalapeños for the Katsu Curry and for the ramen, the coconut was overpowering to me in the sense that I didn’t really taste the chicken flavor and the red onions really contributed to the flavor so when I ran out it lost a bit of flavor. But these are just my personal tastes and overall, food was still very good and would definitely come back and recommend for people to try!
Really friendly service! \n\nBut! Food really disappointing-\n\nTried a selection of yakitori- \nDuck very dry/tough, bland.\nShrimp over fried\nGrilled zucchini neutral\nGyoza neutral (not great- …

Wonderful ramen spot on the Upper East Side. Got the beef ramen and the broth had so much flavor but was not too rich. Great service and the drink specials were a nice plus. Really fair prices too.…
here’s the sitch, long day and i’m looking for a bowl: a big bowl - a bowl of ramen, tan tan men specifically. And this place has it. So, i make my way, one foot in front of another. Ok, I’ll preface i get there 45 mins before close on a tuesday, not an exciting time to host but alas. T cut to the chase, i get tan tan men it frankly didn’t hit the spot, and im a tan tan men GUY. The noodles themselves, great. But beyond that i mean some red onion and cilantro, some tiny piece of chicken thrown in there and the broth, there’s appears so much of it, especially against the backdrop an utter lack of toppings. Look, i’m fine without a lot of toppings, but the broth needs to be the best i’ve ever had if that’s the case. In reality, i’m scathing for the fun of it. it remains true that i’ve had better ramen, but maybe a better judge would be a bowl earlier than 9:15pm. Regards, Ethan
Great customer service but the samurai ramen was not as flavorful as I expected. The broth was surprising heavy in taste and packed with black garlic (which I expected). I subbed chicken for the po…
