Opinions de Épicerie Boulud New York
This restaurant/café is one of the best, maybe the best in the world trade center. One of the best things about this restaurant is that there’s always a line. Yes that’s what I said “always a line” and it’s very hard to get what you want to eat without waiting so long. I am a frequent patron and I love it. And I get angry because the line is so long until I checked myself and wondered why is it always like this.? The answer is that the food is so good and healthy and the customer service is five star and there is a way to calm yourself, which I think you should come earlier. The Chef of this café is five star himself, and the people know that. The Chef and his staff know that some of these people who can’t wait to get Matcha or Americana or lattes, tea, salads, egg, and ham, sandwich, sandwiches, cookies, marble bread, croissants, and it goes on and on and on. You can either wait or you can go around the oculus and find other good coffee and sugary donuts and cold sandwich and there’s no line but you can be off to your job with your press sandwich or you can go with your huge plastic cup of coffee and dunk Your bread and be satisfied. People who love excellent food (on the go something that’s hard to do.) we’ll wait until their time comes and they always come back the next day. I did. This is a star five restaurant. And remember this: New York have touring people from all over the world and you have people coming out of New Jersey and you have people who are coming in New York. It is the Oculus and I think that this is the best that you can get to eat unless you go up there to my friends Eately and they’re not open at 8 o’clock in the morning. Don’t flinch and leave ,because you have the best people to take good care of you and your health and it all goes together.
This place this located at The Shops at the Oculous I'm sure I spelled it wrong... and I bought the last 2 Kings Cake they had. So happy I got my hands on it. It tasted amazing and looked spectacular. I brought to the office to share with my colleagues.
As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I’m so grateful to have Épicerie Boulud nearby. It’s a charming little spot tucked inside the Oculus—perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed happy hour. Their pastries are divine, the salads fresh and flavorful, and happy hour kicks off at 4pm with just the right vibe. The entire team is warm and attentive, making every visit feel easy and enjoyable. But what truly makes this place special is Corina. She’s not just a phenomenal bartender—she’s the heart of the bar. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine kindness make everyone feel welcome. Whether you’re a regular or just passing through, Corina has a way of turning a simple visit into a memorable experience. Highly recommend stopping by for a treat and a dose of good energy.
Epicerie Boulud at the Oculus: In my Opinion, a True Neighborhood Gem Nestled inside the Oculus, just steps from the PATH, Epicerie Boulud is far more than a convenient pit stop—it’s a cornerstone of the neighborhood. Whether you’re grabbing a flaky pastry and a perfectly brewed coffee on the go, or unwinding with a cocktail at the cozy bar, this spot consistently delivers warmth, quality, and connection. It has the spirit of Cheers—a place where you walk in and feel instantly recognized. Over time, I’ve met people here who’ve become genuine friends, and that’s largely thanks to Corina, the bartender extraordinaire. She’s not only friendly and efficient, but also impressively knowledgeable. Whether you’re ordering a classic drink or something off-menu, Corina crafts it with grace and precision, all while making time to engage with her regulars. I feel incredibly fortunate to have Epicerie Boulud in the neighborhood. The staff is fantastic, the ambiance is inviting, and the menu—from crisp salads to decadent pastries—is consistently top-tier. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a quick bite, a quiet moment, or a welcoming place to recharge after a long day.
While exploring the World Trade Center area, I stopped by Épicerie Boulud for a cappuccino. The café, located within the Oculus, offers a chic and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a quick coffee break or a leisurely sit-down. The cappuccino was delightful—smooth, well-balanced, and served at the ideal temperature. The baristas were friendly and efficient, ensuring a pleasant experience. The café also boasts a selection of fresh pastries and light fare, which looked tempting for a future visit. Overall, Épicerie Boulud provides a high-quality coffee experience in a convenient location. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area seeking a great cup of coffee in a comfortable setting.
Very nice coffee shop to stop by and relax. Their bakery items look delicious and taste amazing! Raspberry eclair covered in pistachio cream is delicious. Any of their bakery items worth trying! Coffee is also delicious, much better than Starbucks. They are very attentive and strive to serve you well!
I had a delightful breakfast sandwich and some delicious iced tea here. It's very convenient right by the PATH station at the World Trade Center. Some of the chairs are missing their foot rests. But otherwise, things are very nice.
Stopped by the Epicerie Boulud near the PATH station in the Oculus for some holiday pie! Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie: Very chocolatey but, for my personal taste, it was too sweet. Great for anyone with a serious sweet tooth who loves a rich, decadent chocolate and pecan combo. Pumpkin Pie: Definitely the winner of the two! A better balance of flavor.
Ordered some cakes today and it was just exquisite . They had a raspberry syrup / flavor inside . Tasted soooo good . Chocolate filling was so good . Was soft inside and very good taste . Almost tasted like black chocolate 🍫 good service and quick checkout . They also have other stuff like tarts , croissant etc . Good overall 👍👍
While touring the World Trade Center, decided to stop by Epicerie Boulud for a quick coffee break. Unfortunately, I ended up having the worst matcha latte of my life. The taste was off, and lacked the smooth, rich flavor that a good matcha latte should have. On the upside, the ambience was pleasant—a nice spot to relax amidst the hustle and bustle. But given the disappointing drink, I can't say I'd be eager to return.
Honestly used to love this spot for a quick grab and go. But quality has gone down severely for how much they’re hiking up the prices. I have no issues with the drinks but the food itself is not worth it. Recently, they raised the price of the breakfast sandwiches from $6.50 to $8 and I was fine with that until I just stopped in this morning and saw they raised it yet again (within a month’s time) to $10. Really disappointed.
We ordered coffee and croissants, which were good, but we couldn’t even finish them because we were kicked out at 7 p.m. as the café was “closing.” They serve you at 6:50 p.m. and throw you out like you’re trash at 7 p.m. with no respect for the customer. Shameful.
This used to be a 5-star spot a few years ago, but unfortunately it has gone downhill. The biggest issue now is the staff. The employees were noticeably rude, and there was a clear communication problem. Service felt rushed, dismissive, and unprofessional, which is disappointing for a place with this reputation. As someone with a background in marketing, I can say this is exactly how you lose loyal customers. Good food alone isn’t enough — clear communication and respectful customer service are part of the brand experience. When that breaks down, so does the perception of quality. With proper staff training and a renewed focus on customer interaction, this place could regain what it once had. Right now, it’s a shadow of its former self.
Very disappointing and concerning experience. Dirty tables and floor. It seems that the café uses extremely low-quality milk for cappuccinos, possibly even spoiled. Our family ordered lattes and cappuccinos, and within about 30 minutes all four of us started feeling sick — nausea, vomiting, and strong stomach pain. This lasted for several hours. What makes this situation even more serious is that one of us is a breastfeeding mother. This was by far the worst coffee shop experience we’ve ever had and a serious health concern. Please be cautious when ordering here. Management should definitely check the quality and freshness of their products throughout the day, not just once.
I tried to order a coffee a few minutes before 8pm, but they said they were no longer serving it. What made the situation even worse was the staff’s attitude — they were rude and even mocked me for wanting to buy a coffee. Completely unprofessional behavior.
First and last time to visit any of Epicerie Boulud stores. I bought a baguette for $5.50, it was around 6pm. Oh boy, it was way too stale. Still tried a few pieces, and for the rest was made into garlic bread. Too hard to eat, so ended up throwing it away. What a waste of money. Can’t believe they could sell that stale of a baguette to customers. Disappointment.
I had an awful experience at Épicerie at the Oculus last week. I was visiting with my family from Argentina, and as frequent guests of Chef Daniel Boulud’s restaurants (I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him and his lovely wife on several occasions), I was shocked by the treatment we received here. At the bar, my wife and I were served by Javier, who displayed a very disrespectful attitude. He was yelling at staff members and, to my surprise, appeared to have alcohol on his breath. When I asked for his name while writing this review, I was astonished at how unprofessional he had been—not only toward us but also toward his colleagues. At one point, he stormed off to the back, leaving us without assistance. Thankfully, a kind and professional lady stepped in to help us, and I’m grateful for her attentiveness. Unfortunately, the negative impression left by Javier overshadowed the experience. When my wife asked to correct an incorrect order, he responded with even more attitude instead of resolving the issue. It’s very unfortunate, because I do enjoy Chef Boulud’s restaurants and have always held them in high regard. However, I will not be returning to this location again, especially after witnessing such unprofessionalism from management-level staff.
Eh, today was my last visit. Doing high protein, so I've been picking up a couple of boiled eggs with a garnish of greens at this place. $3.81 up until last week. Yes, it would be cheaper to boil my own, but convenience. Paid today, and the price has leapt to $4.90. In a week. 30%+ increase. Egg prices are nothing like they were a few months ago, so there is no reason for that but greed. I found such an increase offensive The place has tempting baked items, but I don't eat them, and I don't care for Lavazza coffee, so I am done there. They won't fail over the loss of my five bucks, lol, but just watch out for sneaky giant price jumps.
I don’t know what possessed me to step into this place on my lunch break, maybe poor judgment, maybe hunger-induced desperation. Either way, I regret every second. First of all, the service was slow. I ordered something simple and it still took forever. When it finally came out, it looked like someone dropped it on the floor and decided, “Eh, good enough.” The food? Bland. Dry. Confused. Like it didn’t know what it wanted to be when it grew up. I’ve had better flavor from chewing paper. The atmosphere was depressing, like a dentist’s waiting room but with a worse vibe. It smelled faintly of burnt disappointment and broken dreams. Safe to say, I left hungrier, angrier, and slightly concerned about my digestive future. If you’re considering going here, do yourself a favor: don’t. Go literally anywhere else. A vending machine would be a Michelin-starred upgrade.
