Opinions de Tommy's New York
My wife and I did the Original St Patrics tour of the Catacombs and the church and aurrounds. If you want a detailed history of the Catholic church in New York and how it was influenced by immigration from different countries over the last 200plus years and the threats from the NY gang scene and how the church continued and continues to evolve to meet the needs of the parishioners, then I recommend this tour. It's excellent. Tommy ran the tour. You will walk away wanting to learn more. This is history the way it's meant to be presented and preserved. Thankyou Tommy.
The check in is easy.. The tour guide Dan, was very informative. He brought humor and continously invited questions. The tour is 90 minutes but you are not in the actual Catacombs that long. That's alright though because you have plenty of time to actually look at what is available to walk through. You go in the Church; but remember this is an active church so it's important to remain quiet and respectful. No videos are allowed but they tell you that any type of pictures are acceptable. Also if you did not get to see the Church sanctuary to your fullest satisfaction or if you want to participate they allow you to reenter after the tour has ended. It is not at the St Patrick's near Rockerfeller. It is in the original St Patrick that is listed as "The Basilica of St Patrick's Old Cathedral". I would recommend this to anyone that has a strong Catholic heritage, loves history, loves Church architecture, or is looking for a little something different than just shopping. The only thing that could be a drawback is if you have small children then they are probably not going to enjoy it.... however there were no children on the tour we went to so I cannot say for certain that would be an issue.
Our Tour Guide was Ramona and she was simple the best. She knows literally everything about China Town and Little Italy (and surely about whole NYC as well). Thank you, Ramona, for this experience!
We really enjoyed our tour through Chinatown - Ramona, our tour guide, was a star! She knows so many details and makes sure everyone can follow.
20-year local finally taking the time to explore all the history of home. I thought this tour was an excellent way to learn about the origins of five points, the old St. Pats, the all-original organ, and more. Photos are projected in the catacombs which adds to the experience of learning about those interred there. This is not a spooky tour, because as we learned, this is an active sanctuary and cemetery, but atmospheric none the less.
You'll love the History, Cultural yet Fun tour of the Catacombs! Our tour guide Kyle was definitely funny and made the tour so interesting!
Lee was a great guide, we learned so much more than just the history of St Patrick’s. Highly recommend. Tommy was also really helpful
Did a tour with Tommy’s at the Catacombs. So knowledgeable. Really enjoyed it. Will recommend to all. Thomas made it so special with all his knowledge

Toured with Jimmy on Friday night and it was awesome! He has such a great sense of humor, did a great job of incorporating all the places we were all from into the tour (wales, queens, Brooklyn, etc) and overall made it a great experience. We did the tour through the Go City pass and it was worth every penny!! Very interesting history, and the cafe on an are very cool to see in the dark. Highly recommend!
Gangs of New York & Pirates Tour My friend Jen and I had the great pleasure of having a private tour with Ramona on a very cold winter day in NY. What a treat! I highly recommend Tommy's New York tours and if you can request Ramona you will NOT be disappointed. Her knowledge and detailed account of historical characters and location were deep. Her enjoyment of sharing history infected both me and my friend and we could barely keep up with questions and answers because each answered question caused us to want to learn more details. Cold? What cold?...over 2 hours of NY history with Ramona fueled us for the rest of the night. Next time we're doing Tommy's Little Italy tour with Ramona and we can't wait.
Ramona was a great and passionate tour guide. Even though I was alone, she gave me a private tour of Little italy. No question was to much and she could answer every one of them.
Our guide Ramona was spectacular, both brilliant and entertaining! Not only does she clearly have deep well of knowledge about the history of NYC neighborhoods, it was also apparent that city history is actually a personal passion of hers. I’ve been on several other walking tours (in various cities), and sometimes it feels like the guide is more of an actor than a real history buff. But on this tour we really got the impression that Ramona is a genuine nerd (in the best possible way) about NYC, the lore, the wild characters, the architecture, the culture, and the evolution of the city. (Afterward, we all commented to each other that it was awesome to see someone really “in their element” like this.) Super fun, answered all of our random questions with great side-stories, and made us feel like we were getting the inside scoop.
Our tour through the Catacombs by Candlelight with Lee was incredible. Lee explained a lot and made the tour extremely interesting. This tour is an awesome way to learn about this Churches history as well as some history about the surrounding area. Highly recommend Lee!
We took the Little Italy tour and loved every minute of it! Ramona, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable and gave us so much great information as we made stops throughout Little Italy. The experience was impeccable and is the best way to get an in-depth knowledge of Little Italy while having fun.
My friends and I attended the St. Patrick's Basilica (Old Cathedral) Tour on Saturday, 11/1/2025. Leo, our tour guide, was friendly and knowledgeable about the Basilica, the surrounding neighborhood and the history of NYC. The Catacombs Tour by candlelight was amazing. I learned so much about the history of the Basilica and neighborhood! Cardinal Dolan was at the Basilica on Saturday to conduct the mass for the installation of the Basilica's new Pastor, Fr. Daniel Ray! It was such an honor to be able to attend the Mass and see Cardinal Dolan and to celebrate Fr. Daniel. The tour was what we expected and more! Leo was great and while I am sure he does these tours so frequently, he never made it seem mundane or routine! Thank you Tommy's New York and thank you Leo for a wonderful day in NYC. We are all looking forward to our next tour!
We did two guided walks with Tommy'S New York, Chinatown and the Bowery, and with Ramona we had a great and funny guide with a lot of knowledge and information about the quarters of the City. Totally recommend able!!!!
Ramona was very knowledgeable and passionate about the tour in Bowery and why preserving culture and history is so important and needs to be kept going into the future.

Ramona was great. She shared a lot of history in famous landmarks in Little Italy. Helped me appreciate this neighborhood’s history and the great places to eat or buy local.
Fabulous Bowery tour by Ramonen. Extensive knowledge of the area and great enthusiasm for the history. Highly recommend this tour. You would never know the significance of the street and buildings by just taking a stroll yourself

Dan was my tour guide. Our tour was the little Italy area in Manhattan. Learned lots from this tour. Dan was our tour guide. He was very personable and had a good balance of humour & information. My only dislike is little Italy doesn't really exist anymore. A lot of the tour is of what little Italy once was and the current area has been gentrified to a large degree. This area is also heavily Asian now so I'd imagine the Chinatown tour would be a popular choice. Either way enjoyed the tour.
Ramona was knowledgeable and fun on our tour of Chinatown. Lots of fun historical quips and great recommendations for food/drink.
Pretty cool trip but it's a one and done for me and not something I'd do again. The history lesson was nice and seeing the tombs was cool. You also get to go behind the scenes in the church and well, which was pretty neat as well.
