Opinions de El Buffet Restaurant Broadway
The place is a hit or miss but I give it five stars because there are plenty of options. The space is also very spacious and has ample seating for a quick lunch.
Stopped by in the morning and got fresh fruit, egg and cheese and some seltzer. It’s bright, spacious, and clean with a lot of different food options (Korean, pasta, chopped salads…) and the seating upstairs is really pleasant.
Great place to eat . Super clean. Always fresh food. The staff is nice . I recommend this place for some good eats ..
Been here before and every time I’m in the area. This place has such a wide variety of foods and access to the bathrooms. In nyc bathrooms are far and few for travelers so this place is a win for me.
Nice area to have lunch!
Saúl and Jose provide the best service I have ever seen, the salads are incredible and the best atmosphere and service !!! Congratulations! Please raise their salaries as much as possible.
Really fresh multiple food and salad bars as well as custom made salads, bowls, sandwiches, Asian delights and other hot foods. And don't forget about the grab and go sushi. Not bad prices either.
Great selection of food, clean environment, & ample amount of tables! Favorite lunch spot during work day!
Love the buffet here, super delicious with a huge variety of meats and vegetables to choose from. When I was here I took special interest in the pork ribs and the sweet potato. There is also a huge variety of cold salads which I missed out because I fillee up my plate too early!
Great freshly cooked food. A wide selection of meals. Bufet style. Pay per weight (15 USD per pound in May 2025). Can get expensive quickly if you eat a lot :D
Good and fast food, friendly staff.
I loved this place. The food was delicious. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. The service was excellent with attentive and friendly staff.
this place is 24/7 i go here all the time when i want a late night snack! its huge too full of different varieties
The food here, besides the pasta, is very good. There's a wide variety of food to choose from...this place is a buffet, deli, and grocery store all in one. I enjoy the egg rolls, sesame chicken, spinach pies, and more, thiugh the buffet food is weighed and pricey. Great place for takeout or to dine in for lunch.
I was back in New York City and there were so many foods that I missed. My family and I stopped towards the end of that trip at 65 Market Place for their buffet by the pound. I had several things I had hoped to, several others that I hadn't thought to, and still more I was glad to try. The Brussel sprouts were amazing, as was the Italian sausage with peppers. I also enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana, the Greek salad, beets, and grilled chicken. I feel like there may have been other things I had a little of that now slip my mind. The variety was so impressive, there were many more things I would have tried if I were not strict with myself. The spinach pie was my least favorite of my choices but that's just preference. Everything I had was excellent, fresh, and tasty. They also have a clean comfortable dining area and clean restrooms as well. Definitely a good place to stop for lunch!
Place is right across whole foods but offers more selection than whole foods. Their Panini and deli sandwiches are reasonably priced and comes with a fairly large portion. 2nd floor dining area is clean and spacious. Good place for usual workday lunch.
This is a must-have stop for me everytime I visit NYC. The hot bar has so many delicious options that are fresh and hot. You won't be disappointed i promise !
I’m trying to understand why this place only has a 4.2 rating👀 we’ve visited 65Mktplc two years apart and the consistency is evident. They have great tasting varieties, and the presentation is always appealing. Aside from the price (but everything is inflated), I give them a solid five stars, the proof is in the offering! We will continue to patronize, thank you!!
This has become a staple since I moved to the financial district. Great place, always open, good selection. If you come at odd hours, though, the buffet choices can be lacking and the food less fresh.
I recently discovered 65 Market Place Deli near my gym, and it's quickly become a go-to spot for me. Unlike some other places, this deli is spotless, which is a huge plus. The cleanliness of the space really stood out right away. On top of that, they offer a variety of healthy food options, making it super convenient for grabbing a nutritious meal after a workout. Whether you’re looking for fresh salads, protein-packed sandwiches, or lighter snacks, they’ve got something for everyone. Highly recommend if you're looking for a clean, health-conscious deli in the area!
Great lunch stop while in the Wall Street vicinity. Large hot lunch buffet, sandwhich deli, pasta bar and more. Salads and healthy options available. Price point as expected for NYC. Sandwiches were well done. $20.00 for a sub and drink. Upstairs seating area.
The cost makes sense for what you get, the staff adds value, and the location couldn't be more convenient. Workers: superb. Focused and proficient. I was happy with my visit here. Every item I've selected has exceeded expectations. Your decision proves worthwhile.
The story behind 65 Market Place intrigued me enough to make a reservation. Employees provided remarkably attentive care. The food uses proper ingredients across the menu. A good selection of items on the menu. If you enjoy food adventures, this restaurant is for you.
Greatest place ever in the city. I’ve been there at 4 am or at 3 am. They open 24/7 that’s great for me. Food is always available and they have the second floor to eat. They have restrooms. This place has saved me a lot of times and it has become a place to rely on.
Very clean and the only real place to eat in the financial district. Stopped by whole foods across the street for breakfast but no food was out so I came here and was very surprised to see wide variety of fresh food. The deli is very clean and super modern! They also have claw machines!!
The salad bar is my to-go for lunch! Always with fresh ingredients and a great selection, all included for a fixed price. The service in the bar is TOP NOTCH. The guys that prepare the salad are supper attentive, helpful and fast! This place also has a hot food buffet and a sandwich and noodles bar, with a good range of options!
This is NYC and this place is within Wall Street. The expectations are high and this place answers the call. It’s really large, and has the largest selection of food offerings in the area. It was late afternoon when I stopped by for a latte but I’m sure during lunch hours that this place is rocking. There’s plenty of dining, with a upstairs dining area that’s reached by a surprisingly out of place staircase. It’s a nice staircase that would seem to have come from a Victorian styled house. Very awesome to take photos on. It’s kind of pricey but that’s solely based on the money making area. I didn’t have time to eat but I could have sat down with some vegetarian food and even had a beer. Nice place. #nyc #wallstreet #nycfood #sankofatafari #kingofcoffeenyc #nyc
Was in the financial district around 10 o’clock I needed oatmeal and didn’t feel like walking to my usual place about a mile away so I stopped in here not expecting much but I was able to find that not only did they have open, they let you take out what you want and add your own toppings to it which is always appreciated. This is how Whole Foods used to do their’s but they have since gone back to prepackage in the oatmeal which doesn’t work because you can lose its heat when sitting in the individual cups. The market is clean and spacious, has seating upstairs, and a variety of options.
very statisfied with this place, bulky young man staff with beard was really friendly 😁, i had not purchase my food yet but he kindly told me the store's restroom direction (probably he's aware i'm foreign tourist). the restroom is nice and clean 👍 buffet was nice, the store has large collection of beverages, and large coffee section the store has free wifi but it's password protected. i asked the cashier the password after purchasing my food and she kindly did told me the password 👍 the place is really comfy, lots of tables to sit down, very nice music, and charging port available 10/10 would go again
The food is a bit pricy per pound. I swear the food weighting machine is off. But the food is good
We are here 2 times because it was conveniently located and had everything.
Great place to buy food and drink. Right next to the Wall Street Bull! The selection is similar to buffets, you pick your own hot and cold food from the shelves or you can have freshly cooked meals if there are workers. Very wide selection of Asian food too! When we visited in October 2021, the seats in the back of the store was closed off so we couldn't sit and eat here. If you're looking to sit and eat, you might not be able to as there were no seats every time we came here even in the front of the store. The owner is Korean and it was very difficult to communicate with him, we asked him how the prices for the food was calculated and he didn't answer. It's based on weight, it shouldn't be that hard for him to tell us that. We will come back here either way
Went to visit the Wall Street Bull and was looking for someplace to eat and came across 65 Marketplace. Good selection of hot and cold foods and also had an open buffet, which with covid resurgence, I wasn’t taking a chance with. Food selection at the buffet looked really good tho, but no thanks. I did however go to the Boars Head Deli and got a reuben sandwich which was really good. The price, not bad, but the drinks and chips is where they get you. A sandwich is only $9.50, but $6.50 for a drink and chips that are sold in the market. After placing order and picking up your food, you head to the front of the market to pay. You can then head upstairs to sit and eat or take the food to go. Overall, it’s a nice good location to hit up if you’re downtown and need a bite to eat. Just avoid the extras unless you desperately need them.
Good selection of food and all was tasty! Seating with tables are available up the stairs, everything clean. Only thing taking a star off is the cashier was a bit rude (impatient although fast) and he didn’t offer a copy of the receipt for my purchase..
Buffet, choose what you want(priced per lb of weight/$13.99. We spent $60 without realising pretty much(but on hols , so not too bothered) but if you're on a budget. Just be mindful ,it's easy to rack up a big bill because of the amount of choice of foods
Decent place to get a quick breakfast! Fresh food, including fruits. You won't be standing hours in a line to get into a place for breakfast. Only downside: If you use a non US credit card, you get an extra charge. It's probably best to pay by cash if you are visiting from abroad.
Pricey! But good buffet. Seating upstairs.
Good selection of food at a good price and great location. It was a bit confusing how to weight and pay the the food as most of the counters were closed and no sign to indicate where to go. Also dining room upstairs had the heater set too high. Overall a good experience.
Strong on variety. Staff was nice and reasonably priced considering the area. There are several stations for different foods. They had an entire asian section and a ton of American comfort foods. You can also eat healthy if you want to or get a sweet treat from the bakery. If I worked in the area I'd get my lunches here.
UPDATE: since my last visit, I have come back a number of times. There has been an older man working at the cashier register. I have had no problems with him. Always kind and friendly. I appreciate the service and will continue to return. This place is convenient as it is one of the last places in NYC that's still open 24 hours. It offers a wide range of food options, which is always a plus. I also appreciated that they let me use their bathroom. However, my second experience at this place was terrible. I visited after 10 PM, and the cashier kept watching me and trying to follow me as I walked around the store. I felt disrespected and uncomfortable. I was the only person of color in the store at the time of my visit. Other customers were not being watched as closely. I am unsure if I'll return.
Good food at a reasonable price, no tipping
The food is incrementally better and slightly healthier than the surrounding shops. There remains a high salt and fat taste for many of the meats especially but it can be balanced with lots of other healthy vegetables and salads. The seating area is a bit basic but it is Ok for a short meal or if you want to have a quick lunch stop it's good. In terms of value it is Ok but on the top side of a reasonable price.
We were kind of worried after we committed to eat at this restaurant. But, once done the food was really pretty good. We did the buffet and tried many different items. Traveler tip: Beware, that where they get you is with the chips and drinks - roughly $3.50 each so it adds up quickly. For two buffet boxes and two drinks it was $49 total so budget accordingly.
Food is good enough for 2+ stars but the pricing is where you get gypped. It's definitely expensive but you get swifly G'd at the scale whether or not you're watching. The chicken tenders are great, sushi too. The soup is lacking a lott. Starting with taste.
Came here for a quick bite. The buffet seems a lilttle over priced. $17 for about 2-3 lbs. When checking out. I asked the cashier If I could eat here. She then asks with the most attitute if I have the covid card. I show her my vaccine paper she then throws the tray down as if I ruined her day. I also noticed other staff members just staring at me when I was looking at the drink selections. Weird place.
Its OK. Good variety for buffet, and seating upstairs. But the HVAC blower makes the upstairs uncomfortable, its blowing so hard that it makes it very noisy and you have to hold onto your napkin and lighter items on your tray.
Cashier # 2 lady was super rude when I asked her to check the price. Was throwing things and freaking out as if I killed her dog. No one needs that energy while break! Also, food is overpriced and not fresh.
I have been going to this place for years, although I believe at some point the ownership changed. Old owners were super nice. This new person, not sure if he is the owner for the manager, was super nasty. I spent $30 on a tiny buffet salad - because they charge and arm and a leg - and a soda which was $4-5. When I opened the soda, it had a weird smell, like the bottle was sprayed with something, maybe insecticide. On top of it, the soda was complete flat, so likely old. I went up to the register and asked them to change the soda, it really smells bad. They wouldn't do it because "I already opened it". Look, the soda costs them $1 wholesale tops, to lose a customer who very literally spends at least $1k a year in this deli is insane. I know this is a first world problem, and I don't mean to sound like I am losing my mind over soda, but I was really taken aback by lack of courtesy toward a long-time good customer
If you want an earful of shouting and perpetually coughing teenagers, this is the place to go. Had to go get food before everything gets thoroughly coughed on. Service (not the cashiers) are exceptionally helpful and friendly. They have 2nd floor of seating with outlets where you can take your laptop and work without being guilty of taking other people's seats.
Convenient and efficient buffet takeout experience with colleagues! 65 Market Place offered a vast variety of food options, and the self-service packing was a breeze. The checkout process was quick, making it ideal for a speedy meal. While the food was nothing extraordinary, it was decent and satisfying for a quick bite. Great option for a hassle-free team lunch or dinner. 3/5 stars!
Rude manager/owner - opened the door and held it whilst she struggled with a sign this morning - not even an acknowledgment or thank you. We tried the buffet and can’t stress enough for visitors to be careful how much you get charged for - it’s just shy of $14 USD for a pound which for us on the imperial system is 1lb equals about 400 grams. Also the drinks are almost double the price of the pharmacy next door. The food tasted pretty good but the whopping $50USD for two small plates of food and a drink.
Very clean but…. Fish and chicken very salty my husband couldn’t eat it. Vegetables & soups good
The filter coffee has poor taste and is overpriced.
2 stars instead of 1 because it looked like it might be better at lunchtime than in late afternoon. All of the specialty counters were closed when we went at around 4pm so there was nothing except the buffet and the small section of overpriced grocery and ready-made items. Buffet items were marked with a label saying what time the food should be replaced with new food. Every dish was a couple of hours past its labeled expiration time. I saw an employee “freshen up” almost-empty dishes on the steam table by replacing with a fresh pan of the same food but then he dumped the leftovers from the old pan on top of the new. Yuck. We would’ve left but we were short on time so we just tried to choose items we thought were safest but still felt nervous. I detected a bit of what I call “dirty restaurant smell” in my food.
food is good but ladies room stinks
I eat at 65 market place often since its very close to my work place i saw that everytime i go in the soups are uncovered i ask at the register why was that and i was told they are busy and the health department was fine with the soup being uncovered unsatified with that answer i google it it turns out the soup containers must be cover inorder to avoid tampering contamination with clients coughing or anything else that may create harm to the clients that visit this lunch area if such lack of precortion is taken with the soups i cant imagine what other health hazard maybe happening their needless to say i will be eating else where going forward be safe out there and if something dont seems off dont be afraid to ask questions
THE OWNER IS RACIST. Do not go here. I purchased buffet food here, and the cashier forgot to put a fork in the bag. Since there is no plastic silverware you can grab, you have to go to the counter and ask to get it. When I asked the owner, who happened to be at the counter, he accused me of stealing food and kept asking me if I paid. Then he kept pointing at me like I was about to rob him, and told me to find the cashier who checked me out. I was in business clothes too! Apparently that’s not enough. Plus they want $14 a pound.
Literally every single time I come here, the breakfast sandwich guys get my order wrong. Without fail. Every. Single. Time. They should hire people that have better listening skills. I normally don’t write reviews like this but I’m going to stop coming here because I am sick and tired of fighting with the sandwich department.
I would go there every morning for almost a year. I no longer go and i go to Champs Deli right across the street. Better pricing and even better food. I no longer ago due to the cashier. The short spanish one. She was very rude and tried to not give me a bag for 5 items i had because she forgot to charge me even after me offering to use my card for 10 cent. I did not mind paying for the plastic bag but she tried to tell me the next time i come she will charge me double. I also gave this place multiple chances, 1 time i went to the fruit bar. I had a small thing of fruit it came out to $18 and after i paid and tried the fruit it was spoiled. They dont have a set price on their breakfast sandwiches but i always atill support because i liked the guys who cooked my breakfast. When i say i was going here every morning the staff and cooks knew me. Even the cashier did. She was way too rude and im so happy i went elsewhere i am saving much more money for the same thing. This place is rigged. They overcharge for not the best food and the cashiers are rude
Don't be fool with these buffet. It's not all you can eat. It's per pound. You get your own food and they weight depend on how much it weights. 13.99 per pound. We are four and It's cost $140. It cost us more than $30 each and some of the food is salty. It's no good for us.
If I could leave no stars I certainly would. The man serving was a total disgrace. I walked in and very politely asked if I may use the toilet because I was desperate and recovering from major surgery. He very rudely said paying customers only so I said that’s cool I’ll buy something but just let me nip to the toilet first. He said no you pay first of leave. There was no politeness at all just absolute disgraceful rudeness. I was in such a state I was rude back and I said to him I thought America was known for its customer service and he said this is America you follow the rules. I am British from London and am just not used to such out and out attitude. I purchased a juice, ran to the toilet and because I was so disgusted when I left I put the juice back on the counter and just said you keep it, I don’t want it. I also gave him a real piece of my mind. Disgusting person he was.
First, their food is not good! Second, their price board states one thing but they charge you higher. Third, the people who work here are very rude. Fourth, they think everyone who walks in there is tourists; so they over charge. You at at your own risk entering this place. Go walk over to Essen on Broad street and you will fully enjoy the food and pay reasonable prices.
DO NOT GO IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES. Employees acted as if they have never heard of an allergy in their life. No allergen information is available and they are extremely unhelpful.
Overpriced, way overpriced, they either think that tourists don't care or don't know, but $28 for one serving of food is way too much. Food is sitting in the warmers all day, and probably still used next day. Wouldn't recommend, specially because there are so many fresh options around, like pret a manger across, or food trucks couple blocks away that serve fresh food for much cheaper.
The salad guy with the blue hat has very bad attitude. He rushed me to finish picking vegetables and stuff. I asked him why. He said there are customers are waiting. I didn’t know that I wasn’t your customer. You are not supposed to worked in service industry.
For one of the only 24h options on the area the service ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. The person at the panini area treats you like if you have just ruined their day, he was basically eating while mediocrely heating up a sandwich, is just a bit past midnight and he treats you like if you have just spit on his face. Food doesn’t even get warmed up and the service is absolutely horrible.
The manager is extremely rude and told me to go somewhere else if I don’t like it. The service is horrible. The prices change everyday. I asked for a side of cream cheese and last week it was $1.50 and a few days later it was $3. I would recommend going somewhere else. Food is pretty but doesn’t taste good.
CHEAPOS........NO WONDER THE TABLES ARE SOMETIMES MESSY......SOMETIMES! THEY NORMALLY CLEAN GOOD.......THEY ONLY GIVE U ONE(1)NAPKIN......ONE.....ONE I TELL YOU.......CHEAP..... BUT THE CASHIERS OPERATING LIKE THEY'RE SAVING THE BOSS TRILLIONS.........DUNNO IF THEY COLLECTING SHARES.....OR ARE THE BOARD DIRECTORS OF THE COMPANY.......THAT THEY'RE SAVING NAPKINS 🙄 Today, 6/12/25, when customers walk into the store to buy food.....and they're looking......before they buy something.......don't follow them, making them feel uncomfortable, its creepy....like really creepy.....if the customer needs help......they're grown up.....they will ask...go and follow the other ethnicities.... made me uncomfortable, so I walked out.....some people, like myself, wanna watch what you are selling......before I start buying......incase the chinese worker didn't know, he looks like someone important!!!.....the store is filled.....I saw him all the way on the other side......I saw him when I walked in, so for him to come all the way to the sushi area.......means you are watching me!! Go mop a floor........clean up the tables due to you all giving one NAPKIN.........ok! Ok!!!
One of the most racist experiences I’ve ever had in my life. The worst part is I just checked other reviews and there seems to be a pattern here. The management rude, racist, and even attempted to physically take food out of hand. This experience was unfortunate. Sad. Please do better!
My young son needed to use the restroom on a rainy, Saturday afternoon, and after walking for over 5 minutes, this was the first business that we found open. I asked the man at the cash register if my son could use their restroom, and he rudely told me that the restroom is for paying customers only, and I told him that was fine. He then went on to tell me that there was a minimum $5 purchase, and I told him that's fine I will pay whatever. I just would like for my son to be able to use the restroom. I took my son to the restroom and came out and made a purchase. He did not tell me my total. He only pointed to it on the register. He also did not thank me for my purchase, offer a receipt, or anything. I don't have a problem with their policy. I have a problem with the way I was treated. We were visiting from out of town, and he was the only truly rude person that I encountered in New York. I would never recommend this business to anyone, and I will never forget the way the cashier made me feel.
One word, HORRIBLE service! I just left this place and there and the manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. Professionalism is essential! Wallstreet as a lot of food options but trust me when I tell you, these people are unprofessional and rude. Even the employee at the register was silent and in disbelief at the actions of the manager. Do. Not. Support this place. And if you’re not treated with the service you deserve, please write a review with full transparency. Horrible service!
I went in to order a breakfast sandwich. Turkey sausage egg & cheese. They were making ham. I asked the guy could he clean the grill I don’t eat pork. He tells me everything cooked on the same grill so everything has pork in it. That is a health violation. I also called the health department. So if you don’t eat pork I suggest you find somewhere else to eat. I now know why I get sick after eating there.
I came to 65 marketplace to have some breakfast. The food was very good. Atmosphere comfortable. The business is clean. However upstairs on the second level there was a person that was coughing a lot but a conference video call and didn't have any product. This person didn't have any food nor beverage from 65 marketplace. I informed the manager on duty that he did absolutely nothing bothered this guy kept coughing and coughing as if he was sick and homeless. This is nasty the management did nothing about it I can't come back to this place and chance getting sick. Cross-contamination must be massive in this place. And I regret the fact that I came in here to eat breakfast. Cross-contamination is real and I don't know what might be lingering from this guy coughing and coughing some management never acts never approached him no asked him to leave since he didn't purchase anything at all in here. ABSOLUTELY UNSANITARY. ABSOLUTELY NASTY.
This place is a big option for a lot of people, so I won’t say too many bad things about it but I can’t give it higher than 1 star because of just how diabolical this place is. On average, keeping the tab under $25 is very challenging. I often get the Cesar salad with a simple meat or veggie side because it’s the lightest and it’s billed by weight. The food is not great. It’s rarely good, and like 99% of the time I go here my stomach hurts after. I kept going here despite all that because it’s convenient and I don’t know any other options around here. I recently started going across the street to Whole Foods. I would try that before this place. The other battle, is they nickel and dime you for absolutely everything. They’ll charge you a $1 for an extra napkin type of place. If you have no choice then this place will do, but be prepared to pay more than you expect. Otherwise, avoid this place at all costs. It’s New York… there’s a million restaurants and options, choose a better option. Good luck!
They didn’t want me sitting in the common seating area so they made false claims of me stealing. I was sitting in the common seating area and one of the workers came up to me claiming that the cashier said I didn’t pay for two cups of coffee. When I went with him to the cashier, the cashier apologized and said it wasn't me that didn’t pay. This is extremely unacceptable if you are going to accuse someone of not paying for something make sure you have the right person!!!
The place overall was a nice atmosphere,Very pricey for the amount and quality of the food not a huge portion of food and around 20-23 dollars on average, and on top of all of that gave My friends and i FOOD POISONING !!
I used to come here fairly often, but I won’t be returning. While they do offer a large pretty selection, most of the food tastes the same and is just average at best. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is the service. The cashiers are consistently very rude. On one occasion, I forgot my card at my office and their Apple Pay system wasn’t working. Instead of being understanding or offering a solution, I was bluntly told to “come back when you have money,” which I found extremely disrespectful. Given the high prices, I would expect better food quality and much more professional, courteous service.
I had a disappointing and confusing experience at 65 Market Place. The food was clearly advertised at $14.99 per pound, but the scale was set to $20 per pound. When I pointed this out, the staff corrected it, which I appreciated. While seated upstairs, I had a clear view of the cashier and her register. To my surprise, I later saw the price quietly changed back to $20 per pound. Even more concerning, I noticed several other customers being charged the higher price without being informed of the discrepancy. What initially seemed like a simple mistake now feels like a deliberate and misleading practice. It raises serious concerns about the transparency and integrity of this establishment. If you choose to dine here, I strongly recommend checking your receipt carefully. As for me, I won’t be returning.
